Annah Aman has been highlighting my hair for years now, always gently guiding me towards colors that best suit my features, so when I decided to go red this past January, Annah was my first phone call. She explained going back to blonde wouldn't be easy, but I was determined. The color came out gorgeous! People sincerely stopped me to tell me that I had beautiful red hair! I soon found out I was pregnant and just as Annah feared, I wanted to go back to my blonde. A less talented colorist would have backed away from the crazy lady (me). Annah is not just any colorist though, she is a true professional who has slowly brought me back to my blonde roots. The one mistake I made this year was cheating on Annah and going to one of Atlanta's Van Michaels chain. The bleach destroyed my hair in so many places, causing major breakage. I was also getting ready to give birth to my first child and knew that I needed a style that would be beautiful but easy. When Annah saw all the damage done, she recommended Brent Johnson to step in with a solid cut. Like most women, I packed on the pounds during my pregnancy so I needed a cut to compliment my ever changing face. Brent immediately made me feel at ease as he began to cut, changing my hair from destroyed to designer with every snip of his scissors. I am HOOKED on this place!!! I was in town from SF and after hours of griping about my hair, she brought me here to Bernard Dugaud and immediately I felt relaxed. First, Annah is a goddess with color! I (thankfully) put a lot into her hands as far as what I wanted, but I trusted her. She was great with her advice and eventually not only did I have the cool pink on the underside of my hair, she NAILED IT with the blond highlight / low light combination. I've never loved the color more! Then, after amazing color, Brent came in with the scissors and "masterpieced" my hair (I wish that was a verb). He made me instantly feel comfortable with his personality and sense of humor. The cut was right on the money and I'm so so grateful. I brought pictures and told him kinda what I wanted, and while he used it to get an idea, he made it his own in a way I could have NEVER imagined! It was amazing, seriously. The only thing to mention here is to bring cash for your tip. I felt terrible that after they spent hours perfecting my hair, I wasn't able to reward them. So, I had to run out to grab money for a tip and come back. THIS is what I've been missing in SF! Thankfully my best friend lives in Atlanta, because I will be making regular trips here - I recommend them all over the place. Now, the headshots I took for my business website look amazing and everyone comments on how awesome my hair looks! This has literally NEVER happened before!! Extremely professional in service and COVID precautions (i.e., , text reminders for your appointment at booking and just prior to actual date, stay in your car until your stylist is ready, clear partitions separating guests at the hair wash area, everyone wearing a mask) . The entire team is great! My daughter has Jason cut and style her hair while I use Jason for color and Bernard for cut. Every team member is focused on customer service and helping each other ensure their clients have a fabulous experience. I book 3 months out so I know I have the dates that work best with my calendar, but they are accommodating when a change is needed. Vincent has been cutting my hair for about 10 years, and it's time I shared how great he is online. I was referred to him, but I wasn't sure the upscale salon was the right place for a man's haircut. As it turns out the people working there are very friendly and provide great service from checking you in, offering a drink, and washing/massaging your hair (especially Yvonne). It's a great experience. Ultimately though, I go because Vincent is gets my hair right. I've been told my hair is difficult because it's multiple colors and "blending" the cut takes a pro. After extensively researching salons in the Atlanta area, I was very excited to get my hair cut and colored at Bernard Dugard based upon the rave reviews. I was very disappointed! The cut was great but the color ended up terrible! I asked the hair stylist to touch up my color framing my face, and I ended up with three awkward stripes on each side of my part. I called immediately to see if I could come back in to get a toner to soften the stripes on top of my head, but the receptionist could not find anything to fit my schedule until over a week later. I'm very upset that I paid a lot of money for this color. I had high hopes for this salon! read more
