Great produce! This 2023 u-pick seasons have both veggies and fruits to offer. I'm so excited to pick strawberries and still waiting to pick some apples this year.

We know the brand and the quality because we have picked up these pies occasionally in various locations. I was primarily looking for an apple crumble pie, a frozen one I could take home to cook later. I was totally floored to see they also have these GINORMOUS chicken pot pies that are just as big as the other fruit based pies. A 10 inch chicken pot pie!? How medieval, I had to get one of those as well. These pies are all double crusted, not just a layer of crust on top, but an actual encased pie. A layer of crust, chicken pot pie filling and a layer of crust on top. Outstanding! ....but then we saw the treats and kinda lost it. Monstrous cookies. We got some Ranger cookies as well that are a delicious combination of dried fruits and nuts. The chocolate chip cookies look great, haven't chomped on that one yet. Then I saw the banana coffee cake. That one didn't make it out of the parking lot. The cake was pretty large for a single serving. It was very moist with a frosting drizzled across the top, and the banana flavor was spot on perfect. We felt like a couple of kids in this store being excited about all these offerings. We also ended up getting a hand held cherry pie and an apple pie. They were shaped like a pasty in a crust and went down easy. So many different treats, so little time. At least I got my apple pie for later and the chicken pot pies, very interested in that one. This is definitely a Mom and Pop shop, or should I say a 'Mom and Daughter' shop. They are very friendly. The store itself has a little bit of a Frontier country kind of feel and is very welcoming.

And now they've raised the price of their milkshakes (best described as medium sized) to $10 and cut the amount of ice cream, so we got shakes that were the consistency of smoothies for $20. The ever-changing staff is still friendly but that's not enough. Sadly, we won't return.

Blue Goat is my absolute favorite place to dine in Amity. And I know, Amity isn't a huge town, but…read moreeven if it was filled with restaurants, I know Blue Goat would still be the best. I love everything about them: Locally grown produce and meat, and a short, curated menu so you can depend on anything you order to be exemplary. They have prepared items if you just want a little something to grab and go, and they also sell their meat and produce too! We've dined here a few times, and I always try to order a goat or lamb dish as that is not something I would cook at home, and I know it will be skillfully prepared and tasty. For instance, we recently had goat empanadas....so darn good! Love them! We've also had the lamb barbeque. Their fries are ridiculously crispy and yummy, salads are always good, and for dessert the chocolate cake or cookies have been delicious. Don't forget to wander around a bit while you wait on your order (Which is always quick!). They have fun artwork, cute mugs, even dog treats! In December they had some sweet handmade ornaments and bulbs in planters. They are only open 3-8 Friday and Saturday so might take a little planning ahead, but they are so worth seeking out. If you are in McMinnville, it's only a little drive, and if traveling from that area to Salem, maybe make a pit stop in Amity for a tasty treat?

Service was terribly slow for not being open very long (opens at 11, we were there about 11:25). Love that they use locally sourced ingredients. Felt pricing was a tad high for what was plated and served. Street parking.

To be honest, when our plans to go bowling and have lunch at Big Al's today fell through because…read morethey didn't open till 3, but we still wanted to eat (and hadn't had breakfast yet at 1:30), I tried every option I could think of to not go to Bannings. When we moved to Oregon, it was under construction but we kept hearing how good it was - in fact, all the local FB pages would gush about it when a newcomer would ask about the best restaurant. And once it finally opened, we tried it, but it was kind of like Marie calendars and Shari's, but local. Ok, but not what we had expected for all the hype. So, after trying a handful of options it seemed Bannings was the only place we could still get breakfast so I begrudgingly agreed. Well, I was mistaken! I got the breakfast enchiladas and a strawberry orange mimosa. Now, the mimosa - I'll get that out of the way first. It was weird - it looked curdled. It just had mashed strawberry at the bottom and it actually was quite good. I'd do a normal mimosa in the future, but good. But the enchiladas - delicious. Like, I'll come back again and again for those. And they didn't charge me extra for the avocado, which I think is righteous because I asked for no hash browns. But not all places would do that, they'd nickel and dime even if you passed on one side for another. Additionally; my husband likes a savory breakfast and a sweet one too - so he often gets two breakfasts and though he may not eat all of both he gets that savory and sweet. Well, the omelettes come with 3 pancakes. Perfection. And, I took 3 bites of them - I usually might try 1 or not at all - they are very very good. Last - it did not break the bank. I've about ruled out breakfast out because of how crazy expensive the places that should be reasonable are. This was reasonable - PLEASE DONT CHANGE!! All in all 5 stars, will be back for breakfast; and hey - when I'm wrong I can admit I was wrong! Give them a try if you haven't!
