2 each - 1/4 lb Cheeseburgers 1 each - Large French Fries 1 each - Onion Rings

This time I was the only person in the drive through. I did not have to wait for anyone. I ordered the Pastrami and Swiss Sandwich on Rye--it came with mustard and onions, and I ordered Fries. From paying-for-my-order, to receiving-my-order, was 12 minutes. The sandwich was more than enough food at a fair price. The portion of pastrami was generous. The fries were not made to order, they had been sitting under a heat lamp, or part of an earlier batch. So this was a 3-Star experience, which is good, or average.

One taco that actually had meat, had everything on the outside. lol

Taco Tuesday. $1 tacos are nearly empty hard shells. Hardly any meat or cheese. Lots of lettuce and sweet salsa though. But hardly any meat. It use to not be like this and today will be my last time coming to Bernie's because it gets worse each visit.

If you've been in the Wenatchee Valley for more than a few years, chances are you've been to Bernies. If you grew up in the Valley, chances are you remember going to Buddies or the Arctic Circle. This is a Wenatchee Valley homegrown good ole fashion burger joint. Although, I would describe Bernies as more of a "Fast Food Diner". They have one of the most unique and extensive menus in the fast-food category of restaurants. I would, however, rate their quality as better than fast food. The only reason it is considered fast food is because of the drive-through. They cook your food when it's ordered and it always comes out hot and fresh. They have also been consistently good over the years. I will speak specifically to my most recent visits now (yes, I go often enough to make that plural)... Buffalo chicken wings: Yeah, at a fast-food joint. You can't get these at too many fast food places, and even if they have them I will bet right now that they aren't as good as Bernies. If you're a wing fan, you'll like these. If you're a wing snob/enthusiast looking for the best wings around, Wenatchee isn't the place for you to be looking for world-class wings. Go to Portland, you hipster. Seahawk Burger: I hope they make this a permanent item. Of course, you can always customize a burger to have all of these great things on it, but it's just easier to say "I'll take your Seahawk Burger" (hold the onions of course! (I know, I'm a child and think onions are poison)). Other than adding mushroom, I can't think of a better combination of things to go with your delicious 1/2 pound of freshly cooked ground beef. Fish and chips: I did not order these, my wife did. I had a bite, but I'm not a connoisseur like my wife and brother are. I thought they were good. My wife said they were pretty good, a little on the greasy side for her preference, but still pretty good. My brother rates these as one of the better places in the Valley to get fish and chips IF you don't mind the greasy fishies. Again, for fast food standards (which I think Bernies is well above) it is top tier. Finally, I'll speak to their classic staple, the good ole Buddy (Bernie) cheeseburger (in the small burger section of the menu). I grew up getting this burger. This is a burger that I can go and get with my dad and as I eat it I feel like I'm a kid again, the sights and sounds around me change, life is simple again, I have no bills, I'm just a kid sitting there with my dad eating a Buddy burger, just for a moment. Then my dad starts to describe what it was like back when he was a kid, eating at the same place, the same burger. When you can go to a fast-food eatery, and get an experience like that, then the value you get from visiting Bernies goes from "yeah I'd probably come back again", to "This is a priceless gem in the Wenatchee Valley. An establishment that has been a part of the community for decades. A piece of history in the Valley that all can come and partake of."

Not bad for a smash burger. Decently priced but very busy during lunch time, waited about 20 mins in line just to order.

It's Burger King on steroids! You won't find tomatoes on the menu board, but almost every other combination of garnish (and companion meats) are options. I went with their stated classic, the "OG Mission" ('original gangster') burger. It is delicious, albeit noticeably greasy, due to the extra-high fat content of the ground beef. But that's where the rich flavor comes from. What Mission Burgers is doing right is highly seasoning the meat with salt and pepper, then punching up the flavor with pickles, red onion, and their special sauce. Add to that the richness of the cheese and the crusty, grilled bun--this is the winning combination at the base of all their other burger options. The other thing I really appreciate is, their straightforward pricing without trying to upsell their ingredients. The add-ons are inexpensive--slice of cheddar is $.50 compared to EZ's $1.47 for the same. Two suggestions: - drain the grease off the patties before assembly, - don't fold the wrapper in half... wrap the burger in a full sheet, stronger paper if necessary, keep it from leaking all over clothing. (I'll be back to check! :-) Otherwise, this is a 5-Star burger! (see the menu board pic attached for all the other options, including chicken)

| Room to Grow, Hoping for Better Next Time…read more We came to Petey's with high hopes. As a long-time Wenatchee resident who moved away in 2017, I was excited to try a new spot after recently moving back. I remembered this location as a family-run Mexican restaurant and was intrigued to see what Luis had done with the place--I've met him in the past and wanted to support the venture. First impressions were promising. We were greeted warmly by a friendly young man at the front, and shortly after sitting down, someone else brought us water without delay. The service started off strong and professional. Then our waitress arrived--and unfortunately, that's where things shifted. She didn't greet us or offer a smile--just asked if we wanted anything besides water. We placed our drink orders, but her demeanor felt cold and unwelcoming. When she returned with our drinks, the energy didn't improve. We placed our food order and hoped for the best. When our meals arrived, they looked good--but we were missing a couple of items. We let her know, and she corrected it quickly, which we appreciated. Still, she seemed frustrated and disengaged throughout. To top it off, while I was still eating, she returned--not to check on how things were--but to ask if we were ready to cash out. I let her know I wasn't quite finished yet. About ten minutes later, I motioned that we were ready, and she dropped the handheld payment device on the table without a word. No "how was everything?"--just silence. It was clear she was ready for us to go. Despite the lackluster service, I still left a 15% tip--because everyone has off days. And I genuinely want this place to succeed. The food was good, and the environment shows promise. We'll be back to give breakfast a try, and I'm hopeful the next visit reflects the pride and care that I know Luis wants this place to represent. I don't leave critical feedback lightly--but I know Luis will see this and take it as an opportunity to improve. - thanks for reading my review
