And boy, oh boy, was she right! Kissin' Cuzzins isn't just for family members bring your friends! Our server was super nice and we chatted like long time friends and he brought our drinks and food asap! When I ordered I actually said, it all looks so good I want one of everything on the menu! I didn't order all the items on the menu but I ordered so much we have leftovers for lunch! I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and the okra! Those are two things that have to be cooked to perfection and yes, they were! The cook at this restaurant knows what he's doing in the kitchen, that's for sure! On the top of the yummy list are the sausage gravy and biscuits, grits, BLT with bacon cooked the way it should be... not too soft, not too crispy. Goldilocks would definitely steal it off the plates of the three bears! Whatever you order just know you're at the right restaurant for a delicious meal and you'll be satisfied when you walk out the door!

Inside, it looks like a classic diner, and the staff were friendly, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. That said, the food itself was a bit "meh." The biscuits were definitely the highlight, but nothing else really stood out. The grits in particular were a bit overcooked and had a very gummy texture. With so many other breakfast options in the area, we might skip this one on a future visit.

Many years ago, when we lived in Atlanta Georgia my family had an absolute favourite spot to dine…read more That place was called Po Folks. It had family style meals on long tables that felt like you joined multiple families at a big feast. We were giant fans of their fried chicken and their hush puppies. Unfortunately, like so many restaurants Po Folks closed their doors forever and our favourite dining place became only a memory. That was until we visited my sister in Saint Petersburg, Florida. While looking for a local restaurant, lo and behold, we found a Po folks! Upon further investigation we found that there are five Po Folks restaurants still in existence and except for the Saint Petersburg location all are in northern Florida. With our expectations off the chart, understanding that memories are often better than the actual events, we visited the Saint Petersburg's Po Folks Restaurant. Although the decor was somewhat different (not as large and the old white and blue chequered design is now red and white), we're happy to report that the food was just as good. The Service: Our server was delightful and happy to hear about our previous experience. She made sure our new experience was just as delightful with our glasses always full and our every request fulfilled in a timely manner. The ambiance.: Po folks is set up to feel like a family dining picnic. Designed to feel like a family dining picnic, it's feel is quite a change from the typical Metro Restaurant experience. The design matches the type of 'cookin' and friendly service to a tee. The food: How we initially found the Saint Petersburg Po Folks came about by a challenge we have faced since our move to Florida and that is finding a well-made whole catfish. In Texas there were many restaurants that offered whole (not filets) catfish to choose from. Not in Florida where we have not found a single restaurant that offers whole catfish. But lo and behold, Po Folks came up when we made our "whole catfish" search. Although not quite as large a catfish as what we are used to in Texas, the catfish was delightfully moist and flaky and easily came off the bone. The fried chicken and fried okra were just as fantastic as we remembered and the hush puppies were moist and a bit sweet, just as we love them. We also tried their lemonade which was well balanced (not too tart or too sweet.). We're sad that there is no Po Folks down in the south Florida area but as my sister said "we'll now be seeing a lot more of you, just be sure to stop in and visit with us along with your visit to Po folks."

Wing Man Gary (UASF Pilot, Retired) had the Grouper Sandwich ($16). I asked for my burger to be "So rare a good vet could save it." And that's exactly what I got. There was a large toothpick speared through the burger to prevent it from escaping. The flavors and textures were a real treat. Superb! Great meal for $90 including tip. Highly recommended. The food was solid overall, and the duck linguine was absolutely delicious--it's a unique pasta dish that really stood out from the usual options. I was also pleasantly surprised by how strong the kids' menu was, which made dining with a little guy much easier. Known for cozy interiors, personable staff and quality coffee you couldn't match at the chain location a block away do slightly cheaper. Oh how times have changed. Southern Grounds St Petersburg is not like their Jacksonville counterparts in the slightest with the exception being the space is used well and looks great. However, the staff I thought was rude, not personable, coffee that tastes oddly bitter and the price for what's offered doesn't seem reasonable (staff can't control this). This isn't Jacksonville where coffee shops aren't as plentiful as downtown St. Pete, but hurts even more so when you begin to compare. I've been three times with friends who wanted to "try it out." I don't think I'm a coffee snob, nor are they, but we left every time saying "that wasn't the best." Not every coffee shop can be "amazing 5/5," but when a coffee just doesn't taste good/ okay for the price - I can't recommend it any further. 2 out 5; Can't control price and space is well laid out.

We wanted to eat something that would be filling, comforting, grab a few drinks but not necessarily need a whole sit down experience. So we stumbled upon Casita Taqueria. Thanks to the other awesome reviews, we knew this was the place to go! It literally feels like a casita when you walk in. They have lots of outdoor seating, picnic tables and such. Inside had a bit less seating (especially when it's raining and most of the people want to stay indoors). Either way, we found a table for 5 in no time. The ordering is easy, you go up to the register, order what you want and then they bring the food to you. No servers no waiters just easy. Highly recommend ordering a pitcher of margarita, we got the spicy jalapeño one and it was so refreshing! The food was delicious, freshly made, quick, and perfect for a lunch break. We got the tempeh nachos, rice and beans bowl, chips guac and salsa plus everything else the rest of our table got. We left full and our hearts happy! The ONLY THING I wish I would see was a super spicy house sauce. Which btw, they have a little fridge of their house made sauces for you to grab and enjoy. I just WISH there was a spicy one, the sweet one was pretty good!

We ordered the chip trio, 2 tacos, and a burrito. The queso was fantastic, the guac was decent, the salsa was very smokey which is a personal preference if you like that flavor or not. I really enjoyed the barbacoa but unfortunately did not like the carnitas - it had a sour flavor. Also, I was disappointed by the hot sauce because it wasn't hot at all (even the habanero one- just very sweet and tasted only like honey). However, everything is very reasonably priced and if you want a quick, affordable Mexican place in St Pete then this is a very solid choice. I give it a 3.5/5!

My vegan friend recommended Good Intentions, and I haven't had a nice vegan dinner in a while, so I decided to come see what this place was all about, in honor of my beloved Ethos. RIP. We make reservations, show up, park anywhere we can find in this wild, wild West portion of town, and start browsing the menu. It sounds absolutely delicious. We started off with the Southern Sriracha Crab Cakes (Hearts of palm and jackfruit crab cakes, sriracha pimento, Thai chili glaze, seitan bacon crumbles, pickled fresno, scallion, sesame). These were great. Very crispy, the inside was the spitting image of crab cake filler, and there was just enough Old Bay to really sell it. Spicy sauces and other elements made this quite the lovely little app. We also had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (Dan Dan tahini, toasted cashews, pickled fresnos, scallion). Wow, this was good. Tahini was a great choice, the sprouts were crispy crispy, and the cashews added a wonderful little crunch. My main was the Kimchi Fried Rice (Crispy fried jasmine rice, scrambled JustEgg, kimchi, sweet soy reduction, fried crab balls, kewpie aioli, scallion, sesame seeds). Better than some of the non-vegan fried rices I've had in my life! Great rice with some nice crisp, flavorful but not too funky kimchi, a nice soy sauce, and a nice aioli to sauce things up a bit. I also got to try a bucatini bolognese of some sort that I can't find on the menu anymore. Maybe it was a special. But it was good. Really deceivingly real meat crumbles, a lovely sauce, and bucatini is one of my favorite noodles. Big fan. Overall, this was not a good vegan meal. It was a good meal. I love places like this.
