Awesome atmosphere, good food and excessive pricing on routine drinks equals 3 stars. I would've said 4 stars but it takes away from the dining experience when you feel places are getting greedy and gouging you. A vodka and soda water for example is $11 and standard white wine was higher... Come on man! Absent that, the place is really cool with all outdoor seating, a very fun atmosphere and very good seafood and sides. Service was very friendly at the food window and at the bar. Probably will be coming back at some point, but it's going to take a little bit of time to get the bad taste out of my mouth with the whole drink thing.

This is a great place, it's an outdoor only establishment with a covered bar. The atmosphere was amazing and just that alone, it sold me even before I even ate anything. The customer service is the next best thing about this establishment. We were warmly welcomed and greeted as soon as we walked in by the manager. For food I had the shrimp po-boy that was really good. We ordered the hush puppies as an appetizer but I couldn't eat them because they had jalapeño inside and on top of them. We also had the cooked oysters that were okay, they were a little busy in my opinion with ingredients but they were a strong B. My wife had the red grouper and she thought it was good but a little over seasoned. My wife had a grapefruit salty dog which was delicious and I noticed that almost everyone at the bar had a pistachio mai tai, which the manger told me it was really good. So I'll try one next time I strongly recommend this establishment for dining. It's a quaint little place and they have a happy hour that we will try out soon.

Found this place here on Yelp. Love the idea that you can order at the bar and the food window and keep an open tab as opposed Drinks were very good and pretty to look at! The fish dip was excellent. We shared the panko crusted mahi mahi ( a huge portion) and chose the kale chimichurri sauce (delicious). We did try the Cajun sauce first, but it was a bit too mayo-y for us. The pineapple slaw was yummy, as was the trophy taters ( smothered in guacamole). The blackened fries were perfect- and I am not a big fry person. Staff was friendly - Alina was great! Cozy seating areas as well as your typical tables, on a patio outside. Regret that I didn't get the peanut butter pie!

Would comeback for $1 oysters. We got both the fried shrimp and fish tacos, which were just average--not much flavor. The corn was delicious! Fun outdoorsy vibe!

Chilly day but worth going anyway! Lots of outdoor heaters and fun vibe. Fish is so so fresh...service is very good. You order drinks at the bar and your food at the ordering window and then food is brought out after it's freshly prepared.

Fish nuggets and hush puppies

Ever since I moved to St. Pete in 2020, Trophy Fish has been like a long-unrequited crush, always on my mind but just out of reach--until today, when I finally stepped through that nautical wooden gate and immersed myself Into this tropical paradise. Veiled from street view by lush walls of Sea Grape trees (at least I think they are Sea Grapes) in the heart of the Grand Central District, entering Trophy Fish made me feel like I'd tumbled into a coastal Wonderland making the return of Al fresco dining with a cool, easy breeze and crushed oyster shells crunching underfoot an even greater delight, The dog-friendly setup radiates a relaxed, "bait shop chic" allure that melds casual counter ordering with seamless efficiency, that suits the relaxed dining experience while keeping things moving and giving you a chance to check out the fresh fish of the day, which was likely caught that very morning just a few miles from the venue. The menu didn't disappoint either. We kicked things off with hush puppies and a pineapple sauce--decent, but a bit heavy for my taste. The amberjack nuggets, though, were a revelation: flaky, lightly breaded, and downright tasty, while the amberjack sandwich paired perfectly with the irresistible truffle fries. But the true star was the key lime pie--hands down the best I've ever tasted - no cap - striking a perfect balance of tart and sweet with a graham cracker crust that was nothing short of sublime. The full bar, featuring creative "boat drinks" like the Pistachio Mai Tai, added a playful touch, making us feel like we were sipping cocktails on a dock at sunset. Trophy Fish is a charming, inviting spot that whisks you away to a coastal paradise right in the heart of the city and is absolutely worthy of a visit for a local dining experience.

This place is unique. It's cafe style so you have to walk up and order everything. With that said the food was good and the drinks even better. The oysters are fantastic! Fried fish was good too. Let me say though. The hush puppies were burnt and if you DO NOT like smoke flavor do not order the peel and eat shrimp. That was a very different taste. I did not like that. The bartenders were nice and food runners were great as well. Kudos.

Awesome outdoor dining

This is by far the best fish we've had in the area. The dishes are cooked with care and are all outstanding! We absolutely love the blackened fish, tater tots (potatoes with fresh garlic), and the pineapple slaw. We have no problem driving 45 minutes each way just to eat at this amazing restaurant! The atmosphere is really cool and there is one really nice bartender. (I would avoid the snarky bartender, even though he is a drink master. He is just not that kind.)

Love this concept! Tables are free for anyone to grab and do follow the normal seating rules of a restaurant. You go to the bar to order drinks, you go to the food window to order your food, they will give you a number. Pick up your drink pick a table and the food will be brought out to you. There are seafood varieties that often change based on the catch. Each time I've gone I've done the day boat fresh catch where i picked a wahoo fish, blackened, with cucumber salad and seasonal veggies. The staff is friendly. They greet everyone who comes in. The ambiance is nice! I like to start my Sunday funday in dtsp here! I spent about 60 dollars for my meal and drink.

Very cute, casual, seafood and drinks spot! Everything is order at the counter/bar and then they can your name to come get it. Pricing wise, it was extremely fair for the size of the portions. We had a few cocktails and the fish nuggets! The nuggets were fresh and fried perfectly. Would recommend.

Very good for fresh fish. Welcoming bar and restaurant that's popular in the Grand Central area. Hush puppies are excellent, shrimp burger is delicious, interesting drinks, fresh fish is always a great choice. Fun vibe. Mostly self service to order and at the bar, they bring the food to your table but don't really know why they ask for tips, but we tip some, but it's really a self serve restaurant.

Love Trophy fish! They also opened another location in Tampa which I haven't checked out yet. They only open from Wed-Sun as they're actually fishing Monday and Tuesday. Everything is so fresh and love the beach vibes. You order at the stand and they'll give you a number and bring your food. It comes pretty quickly. Trophy fish does not disappoint! What I ordered: - WHIPPED FETA DIP: cucumbers-roasted peppers-sunflower seeds and crispy tostadas - FRESH CATCH NUGGETS: buttermilk fried blend of our fresh catch fish-pineapple tartar sauce - BUTCHERS BLEND FISH TACOS: jicama slaw-blood orange nuoc cham dressing-citrus seasoning-fresh cilantro and jalapeno-garlic flour tortillas - PO BOY: buttermilk fried shrimp-garlic butter toasted hoagie-crab mayo-lettuce-tomato-pickled red onions - HUSH PUPPIES:cornmeal buttermilk batter-jalapeno corn dust-727 sauce

My party of 3 walked in on a Sunday around 6 and easily got a table. The vibe: + It's all outdoor seating, so plan to come in good weather + You order at the counter and sit wherever + Atmosphere is fun/rowdy and dogs are allowed The food: + Pistachio Mai tai + Hush puppies + Red snapper (fresh catch) with green beans and trophy taters + Smoked shrimp burger + Smoked fish spread Cocktail was great. Food highlights were the fried stuff (hush puppies and French fries). Snapper was kind of overdone. The entrees also arrived before the apps, which is always annoying. 3.5 stars.

Atmosphere was awesome! We don't try any drinks but stopped in for lunch. The whipped feta was delicious! Sadly the fish tacos were subpar.

Casual! Whole fried snapper! Fried Wahoo! Local fish! Full menu, full bar…read more Hookin' Aint Easy Seafood Company is a cool house converted into a fish market and patio with a food truck and a bar with chairs with backs. There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

I have never eaten blue crabs from the shell,…read moreand I love whole lobster, so I thought that deconstructing another type of crustacean would be fun. I got off the bus and walked across the street and into the parking lot. It was fairly busy, and I made my way to the patio area, because outside seating only. There was a kind of tiki bar with a line where you go up and get your own alcoholic beverage any time you want. You can eat at the bar or at any of the picnic tables that you pass on the way to a kind of food truck with a window where you order your food and buy bottles of soda and iced tea from a vat full of ice. I loved the vibes right away. I got in line at the "truck". Then it was my turn to order. Well, whaddaya know, they just ran out of blue crabs! And no soft-shell crabs were available as the water they live in is not warm enough yet. But they did have one of my favorite seafood delicacies, stone crab claws, so I ordered those instead, and asked for the mustard sauce instead of melted butter. I also ordered French fries and cole slaw for my sides. And then I ordered one-half dozen raw oysters, because. I was given a little wire stand with a card inserted into the top with my order number on it, to be placed on my table. Then I sauntered over to the bar and ordered an IPA from the busy, bearded and well-tattooed bartender. If you are wearing shades you will be admonished to remove them before paying, and I saw why, as the display on the... pay thingy has excessive polarization. Next I found a good spot in the shade and sipped my beer and checked the place out. Was there music? I think so, but I can't remember! Just all kinds of folks having a good time. Two preschoolers were busily playing in the sand by the main walkway to the food line, and took up most of the path most of the time, but nobody seemed to mind. If you aren't into playing with little trucks in the sand I think there is also corn hole off in one corner. If you don't know what that is, I dare you to look it up. After not too long some plates of food showed up, and I took some pictures and then got busy. First I tried the fries, because they are best when fresh and hot, but the fries were limp and sad. I just let their little ol' hand-cut selves alone. The oysters were served on the half shell on ice, and came with nice hot grated horseradish and cocktail sauce, plenty of lemon wedges, and saltine crackers. They were excellent! Then I turned my attention to the claws, glorious stone crab claws. I noticed that I was given butter instead of mustard sauce. That didn't stop me. But what did slow me down was the lack of a claw-cracker. The claws were pre-cracked a bit, but not in a way that was helpful to get at the meat. And I need leverage to rip the joints apart as my fingers don't work like they used to, so I asked for, and received quickly, a cracker. Some of the claws were on the small side, and the meat in some of the claws was a bit soft-feeling, but it was all pretty tasty. However, they fell short of my previous experiences elsewhere, including when I cooked some at home a few years ago. The cole slaw was very good. The young guy who brought my food and cracker tool was friendly, and quite funny. The woman who took my order was also nice. The bartender was just to busy to be anything but awesome. So all in all, the food was a bit of a letdown. I will try to go back for the crabs, and I saw hush puppies in a photo, that would be better than the fries.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they got AC and immediately asked my family to visit. We have gone several times since then and we LOVE it. We do make reservations, but there have been open tables for walk-ins each time we have gone. Service is top-notch. We have had the same server each time and he banters well with my family- which makes the experience even better. Now, for the food. I recommend going for happy hour, but we do not always eat that early. Happy hour has great deals on appetizers and drinks. I love their grouper cheek sliders and fish dip. The hot sauce on the table is a datil pepper sauce and so very good. My favorite entrees are the blackened grouper sandwich and the baja-style fish tacos. I really cant wait to try the burger, but I love the other items so much I have a hard time not ordering those each time I go. My husband enjoys oysters and does not trust them at many restaurants. He is willing to pay more for quality, fresh oysters. Cheeky's is the place to go for oysters. He ordered the "best" variety for raw and fell in love with them. He also really likes the lightly breaded and fried oysters. They are not greasy and perfectly cooked every time. Drinks are fantastic. I got a special on Kentucky Derby day, a mint julep and it was so tasty. I usually enjoy their mixed drinks and my husband mixes it up between beer and mixed drinks. Recommend all of them. Intrigued by the Salt & Vinegar martini, but have not tried it yet. The restaurant is usually loud, casual, and lively. The deviled eggs with the fried oyster were great. The fish spread was just weird. Not a fan at all. Felt like it was mixed with oil instead of mayo or dairy. The lobster roll was disappointing for $40. Definitely not worth $40. Gordon Ramsey's lobster roll isn't even that much and it's phenomenal. The raw oysters were delicious. We got the "good" ones.
