Scheduled a termite inspection for my pier and beam house. The technician (Jesse) arrived on time and was a nice enough guy -- BUT he did not even attempt to enter the crawlspace (contrary to his post visit "service completed" notes in which he says "I attempted to crawl the crawl space but was not able to access all the way back"). He laid on the ground on his stomach, looking into the crawlspace from the exterior perimeter of the house, and shined his weak iPhone light into the crawlspace for a minute before telling me he didn't have his crawl suit with him, didn't have a light with him (other than the weak light on his iPhone), wouldn't be able to enter the crawlspace. He offered to walk around the outside perimeter of the house to look for signs of termites, but I told him not to bother -- as it's impossible to inspect for termites without entering the crawlspace and looking at the beams throughout. Before leaving he said he'd have "Evan" come out the following afternoon and do the inspection -- because Evan would be able to enter the crawlspace and do a proper inspection. But no sign of Evan today and when I called the office to see if anyone was scheduled to come out today, they said nobody is scheduled to come out and there is nobody except Jesse that services this area. They offered to send Jesse back out again, but what's the point? Total waste of time; the incompetence and dishonesty are very disappointing. (I also should add that I have been in the crawlspace myself recently and there is definitely sufficient space for Jesse to be able to access the crawlspace and do a proper inspection. He just wasn't prepared (no crawl suit, no light) and didn't want to do so.) read more

Do not use Berrett Pest Control. The first service was great. The second service the guy never showed up after I specifically took off work and boarded my dogs that day to have them come service my house. They roped me into a monthly contract that I was unaware of. When I tried to call and cancel after continuously being charged monthly - they wouldn't cancel it. read more

We contracted with Berrett when we purchased our new house since the previous owners had used them and we wanted to avoid an initial start up cost. The sales agent agreed to this, but I.......rookie mistake........failed to get that in writing. When it came time to cancel service, we were advised that we would have a penalty for not completing the length of service guaranteed for the discount applied at activation. Apparently, the sales agent had, in fact, charged us the initial fee, but applied a discount contingent of a certain length of service to negate it and failed to advise us of this. The customer service team at Berrett submitted a research claim on that initial call since all of their calls are recorded - brilliant! They were able to confirm the misinformation given to me and waive the cancel charge accordingly. They did all of this within the span of an afternoon. We very much appreciate this level of service and consideration, even when a client is leaving. We'll definitely keep Berrett in mind for future service needs. read more

Wow - Pedro is AMAZING! Talk about a thorough job performed and level of professionalism. I want him to come to my property every time. I thought the last guy I had was good, but Pedro is clearly one who enjoys his job, performs service to full extent and said "Don't worry, we will get rid of these bugs for you this time." Even my neighbor mentioned what a complete job he did and asked his name for future visits as well. He did a cobweb removal, took down wasp nests that have been there prior to my last quarterly visit and took more time at my home and I could see the spray happening. Terrible experience. Poorest communication I've ever had with a business. I don't blame the technicians- they were both very nice, but the business operations are a mess. Multiple texts, emails and calls with incorrect messages about the status of our appointment. The first technician didn't arrive with the right equipment (or at the scheduled time, for that matter) and completed 40% of the job. We were told we would get a discount due to the inconvenience and then ended up being over charged. read more

We selected Berrett from a Groupon deal and for the good reviews. We had noticed some increased insect activity in our place, particularly a few roaches. When I called to schedule our service, the salesperson warned me that, depending on the type of roach we're seeing, the regular inside/outside treatment may not fix the problem. I went ahead and scheduled the service, since it had been over a year since we had professional insect treatment. Our service guy, Gary, was great. He called about 30 minutes before the 2 hour window, asking if he could come sooner, since he was ahead of schedule. He was friendly and informative when I had questions about the types of pests we've noticed. When I described where we'd seen the few roaches (near back door and bathroom), and how most were dead or almost dead when we found them, he said they're probably tree roaches coming in desperate for water, and the treatment he was doing would most likely take care of them. He made sure we knew not to let the dog out in the yard for a few hours so she wouldn't be exposed to the stronger outside spray. He made sure to not spray the vegetable garden with pesticide as well, and he noticed a part of an old AC pipe (from a previous AC unit), and treated it as a possible entry point for pests. He also gave great advice for dealing with fire ants in the vegetable garden. read more

I was quoted $150 for flea treatment in a 700sq foot empty rental house. We don't have fleas but have to spray upon move out because that's what is in our contract. First off, the gentleman who works for Berrett came an hour early. We no longer live there and have jobs so that was very inconvenient. Secondly, he wanted to charge us $200 when he got there. Which we said absolutely not. So he called the office to discuss what could be done. They had us on hold for an HOUR! Mind you the air conditioning wasn't working in this house and it's 107 degrees out and we have jobs to get back to. When the office finally bothered to answer the phone they agreed to the $150. Finally everything is said and done. We wanted to pay the gentleman which he didn't have clearance to do for some reason. And they ended up charging us the $200 anyway. So the gentleman called the office again. They put us on hold for another hour!!!!!! When they finally talked to us they said they would refund the $50 which I have yet to see. A job that should have taken 30min turned into hours. It has cost me way more than $200 dollars to deal with this company. They need to treat their customers and employees better. We've had mixed experiences with other technicians, but our recent and first visit by Kenny was great. I've been a customer with Barrett for years but Kenny was by far the best technician. He was friendly, on time, and knowledgeable. He genuinely cared about helping us rid the house of pests. We've been seeing giant roaches inside the house constantly for months, and it was driving us crazy. However, Kenny took the time to thoroughly inspect, treat, and point out spots that the pests may have been coming in from, many of which other technicians who serviced our house prior did not notice. I used Berrett Pest control several years ago. It may have changed ownership and right now it is an infuriating joke!!! I called about a wasp problem around my roof area, possibly attic, and stated I need an inspection. The rep on the call sold me a quarterly plan and saying the regular pest control would be included with the wasp treatment and provided better value. The first guy who came was not qualified to do the inspection or the wasp treatment. Her treated my yard (the regular stuff. Ok, but not the reason why I called them). The second guy who came on a Saturday, specifically because a call had been made about a wasp inspection. told me minutes after he got out of the truck that he was allergic to wasps and could not perform the service. My jaw dropped. I was told to expect a call from the service manager. I did not. A scheduler called me to apologize and schedule a real inspector this time (we'll see. It will be on Nov 22nd). In the meantime,. I received the first bill of $107, which I have not yet paid since my wasp problem (the reason for my contracting them) has not been solved. I received a reminder that after 30 days there is a financing fee. And the serviceman who was allergic to wasps did send an email stating that service was completed that day!!!!! I sent an email in response, that I was not paying until the service I requested was completed, but no one has bothered to respond. Bottom line, find a different service. read more

I'm very disappointed with this company as a whole. The quoted me $49.99 and then charged me $162 for treatment. When I called and spoke with someone they told me that was the actual amount of you don't sign up for the quarterly treatment. At no point whatsoever did anyone tell me it would be $160. And when I asked to speak with a manager about it, I got transferred straight to voicemail. Twice. I left a message both times, no one ever called me back. Not only that, I was given a two week guarantee. However, it's been almost 3 weeks and there are still bugs inside my home. But since I can't get anyone to return my calls, I'll doubt they'll come back and retreat as promised. read more
