Such a wonderful surprise!! Heading home from the lake and stopped here for a drink. We were welcomed and explained the menu, offered to try some beer too. I asked if they had gluten free options (celiac) only to be told that most of their beer is gluten reduced/ gluten free by 5 PPM. That's INCREDIBLE. I was ready to buy everything there and bring it home with me. I had their sour beer and it was perfect in all ways possible. I told the bartender that four out of five times that I opened up a tab that I have left my card behind. It's that kind of place. Not that the amazing beer makes you wanna drink so much that you forget your card, but that it's such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that you have no choice, but to feel that you are already at home (and leave your card behind). I mentioned this to the bartenders in case they could perhaps leave the card with me that time? Alas. Anyway, fast-forward, and I'm walking to my car to get something out of it. A bartender runs out to stop me, doing god's work and looking out. What a guy, etc. Come time to actually pick up my card I ask the name of the bartender (so I can tell Lori, the amazing operator, how much I appreciated his good looking out). Turns out it was Lori's son! Who is also the son of the award-winning brewer. That's the kind of place this is. Family owned, family run, looking after the wider family. Absolutely love this Brewery! Not only is this a little slice of heaven with amazing views, the beers are top notch and staff is off the charts! I love their Lagers & Pilsners and the Seperation Anxiety IPA is always a go to! I also love the diversity of music they play on vinyl! I'm a huge vinyl collector and listen to all genres and I love how you can listen to anything from bluegrass and country to classic rock, jazz, funk, and even hip hop. The brewery created exactly the relaxed, celebratory atmosphere we wanted for bringing together our families and wedding party. The setting is absolutely stunning - their spacious patio overlooks rolling hills that glow golden during sunset, creating a magical backdrop for photos and conversation. The rustic-meets-modern brewery vibe struck the perfect balance between casual and special, making everyone feel comfortable while still feeling like a celebration. The craft beer selection is exceptional, with something for every palate, and the staff was so friendly. But what truly made our event special was owner Lori's incredible hospitality. She worked with us ahead of time to make sure all our guests could be accommodated and that there would be a food truck for people who wanted a late night bite to eat. Our families are still talking about what a wonderful time they had - the combination of great beer, beautiful scenery, and genuine warmth from the Berryessa team made it feel like the perfect kickoff to our wedding weekend. There is no food, unless it is a food truck, of which may only come on the weekends. You have to get your own beverages at the bar. I came the first time for the ambience. Watching the sun go down, chill back ground music and a wonderful "double tap". This time We came, it started out great, I could only assume the owner was here and she was wonderful and kind, filled my 2 water bowls for my dogs. But she must have left because after that, the music went so loud that we could barely talk to each other right across the table. The records/ vinyls that were played were rap with vulgar words. When asked if the worker could change the record he said he would not be allowed to change it. When asked if he could at least turn it down, he said he would not be allowed to do that either. We spent more than $100 on drinks in just a few hours. Really hope they figure it out. Will not go back if this is the case and definitely tell all friends. read more

Came here during the holiday week on a rainy day. Lots of outdoor seating thankfully protected from the rain. Had a beautiful view of the hills and some vineyards. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our groups' favorite beer was hands down the IPA. One of the best I've had at a local smaller brewery. Appreciated that they offer 5oz, 10oz, and 16oz pours. Berryessa is great. I can't really think of anything bad to say. Their separation IPA is one of the best beers I've every had. It's for hops lovers for sure, but it's just super flavorful and well balanced. Might as well be candy. ha. Great space too. Tons of tables outside. Kids welcome. Games welcome. Come enjoy yourself. We love the beer at Berryessa. In particular, the Double Tap 2X IPA is one of our favorites but they are all high quality. This is a wonderful place for a warm afternoon sitting outside, listening to live music, chilling out. Nice little hidden gem just outside of Winters great place to meet friends family and have a drink and a great food truck and live music. We have come here several times before in the past and this time again after our annual family Alzheimer's walk. It was just a super easy place to find for a beautiful day as it was. It's always great to give back to businesses like this who have amazing alcohol. My fav thing there was the trubble bubble it reminded me a lot of a claw spiked seltzer which is great for me cause I can't have beer cause I'm allergic. And plus the buckhorn food truck was there and I definitely got the tritip loaded fries nope sorry didn't share . Definitely recommend for a lazy day out chat kind day with no essence of time. With music all day and live music after 2-3pm, corn hole all day, hay for kids to climb on, dog friendly and normal has a food truck on site. One of my favorite breweries of all time! From their gorgeous location to awesome beer, this place is perfect. Their seating is outdoors and they sometimes has great live music and food trucks. With the vast and gorgeous scenery of Winters, this place is perfect for sunny days. Most of their beers are IPAs and avid IPA lovers are sure to love them. Not being a big fan of IPAs myself, I did enjoy the Mini Separation Anxiety: light, hoppy, and not too bitter. They do have other options that aren't IPAs, but there's not a lot of them. Line for beer can be a little song, so note that the line can split based on what you need. Left is for pints and half pints. Right is for samplers, growlers, taste samples, and questions. Service and crowd is very friendly and makes the place really enjoyable! read more

Not gonna lie. This is my favorite brewery ANYWHERE. If you like IPAs, they have an impressive selection. Separation Anxiety is my favorite IPA in the whole world. I am not usually a fan of sessions, but their session IPA, Mini Separation Anxiety is amazing too. Sometimes you can get that in a 32 oz can to take home as well. 10 bucks for Growler refills which is also a great deal. They have a large covered patio, a band on most afternoons and a food truck. Eh... It's ok. We were in the area trying to get some stamps on our passports so we drove all the way out here. And let me tell you, it's really far out. So when we finally got there we were happy to see a food truck, which was good. There were a TON of people out here between the beer room and the wine tasting room. There was almost no place to sit but we wanted to sit inside. However, we realize how small the tasting room was, with really no place to sit but there was a table so we squeeze around it. It was also like 100 degrees outside and the door was wide open. The taproom attendants were very nice and helpful. But the beer was just average. We ordered a sampler but nothing really knocked our socks off or justified sitting in the heat for much longer. So we got our stamps, ate our food and went on our way to the next stop. read more

Berryessa Brewery offers a generous, spacious outdoor seating area, with well-engineered patio coverings and shades that provide ample natural light but also reduce incoming heat. There are several (and I mean several!) long tables with either benches or chairs, so your party is sure to find a spot. Parking stretches out to the back of the brewery, so don't worry if there aren't spots in the front. My friend got a Lavender beer, which was like a cross between a very light beer and kombucha. The lavender and beer flavor were both quite subtle, and seeing as how I don't really like beer, this was a drink I could actually see myself drinking more than 1 sip of. I got a Rose Lemonade, which was a bottled drink of sparkling lemonade with rose flavor. It was subtle but enjoyable. The Buckhorn BBQ food truck has been there both times I've visited the brewery. They serve amazing tri tip, which I always get by ordering the Bunless Tri Tip plate, which comes with French fries and caramelized onions. They are quite generous with the meat portions, which makes this $11 plate stretch for two meals or more for me. With such tender, juicy meat, I'm not complaining. We came to watch our friend perform in a band. The stage is nicely elevated and the music is projected in such a way that it's present but not deafening. They have a good set up! The only two downsides were that their water cups are very small and the water comes out slowly. So bring your own bottle to stay hydrated. Secondly, the hay bale area where corn hole is and where the kids typically play was not sectioned off by ropes like it was on our first visit. This section is literally right next to the parking lot. I would appreciate if they cordoned it off, or if they moved the existing planter boxes to be between the parking lot and the play area, as opposed to between the play area and the tables. Parents are absolutely supposed to keep a close eye on their kids, there are posted signs about this reminder, but it's hard as a parent to have peace of mind knowing that cars will be so close to your kids. I'd recommend bringing some toys for your little ones and some snacks, all to keep them occupied while you enjoy your beer. read more

Such a fantastic brewery in the yolo county area. Winters has this hidden wonder on the way towards Putah Creek and Napa Valley. It's on a one way road straight from Davis to Winters so it's quite a convenient and scenic drive to this local hot spot. Berryessa brewery and winery are next door to each other, so if you're ever interested, you can always have a beer on the lovely outdoor seating area and grab some cans of ice cold rose to go. During our visit on Sunday, the brewery had a concert starting later in the afternoon and a delicious bbq style food truck to top it off (referring to Winters local restaurant, Buckhorn). It was tasty times, filled with tri tip and IPAs that have you regretting not putting your card on an open tab. It's pet friendly as well and they have water bowls for your furry friends. The outdoor seating area is covered with shade so have no fear, the sun won't get you here (for those of you coming back from a dip in the creek). We have been coming here for a few years now and I am surprised I waited this long to write a review! First of all, you can't beat this location on a beautiful day. Outdoor seating and TONS of it. There are so many picnic tables in front of the brewery and on the side where the wine tasting room is. There is now shade covering over all of the tables, and it's much better than nothing like it was in the beginning. The sun still comes through but it's not as brutal. You can bring your own snacks OR order from whatever food truck is there - you can usually find that out on their website and social media. They usually have a band on the weekends too, which is awesome. You can bring your kids or your dogs! It's a wonderful place and the staff is awesome and super friendly. The beers: YUMMY! My favorite is the Fuerza and sometimes they infuse with jalapeño and that is my total favorite so I hope they bring that back soon! They also have a rice beer that is GF that is pretty tasty! I was surprised to like it as much as I did. You can also get a sampler and tryout several beers in smaller glasses, which is fun if you are a new-comer or like several of their beers and can't decide :). Beer lovers of Northern Solano County rejoice! While Berryessa Brewing Company may technically be at the South end of Yolo County, it's really a blessing for nearby towns in Solano. That's because Yolo actually has some other beer options. Solano, however, is a total beer wasteland. & no, I'm not counting that horrendously huge Budweiser building in Fairfield. Real. Fresh. Local. Beer. That's what it's all about. A couple of my beer nerd friends, who live in Northern Solano County, turned me onto this place. & yeah, it's got the goods. Sure, it's still a pretty bare bones operation. They're only open afternoons/ evenings Fri-Sun. They only have 6 taps that they rotate their limited selections through. But it's the real deal here. & they got this trick growler filler that I've never seen before. If you're anywhere near Winters & enjoy beer that's more about being real/ fresh/ local & less about ads/ marketing, get out to Berryessa Brewing Company. read more

Gotta give some love to my peeps from Winters and bump up the rating from 4 to 5 stars. Even though the setup is the same as when I did the original review, the beer quality is just outstanding. BBC makes the best brews in Sacramento region, including Solano County. Period. There is always a good food truck on premises if you get hungry, and live music, while not everyone's cup of tea, is pretty cool too. Everyone working there, is super nice and Chris and Lori just make everyone feel special. I am glad that I live this close to Winters so I can just take my bike and get my growler filled (for a very reasonable price), while enjoying some good food and friendly crowds with outstanding beer. Keep up the good work guys and I will be there every weekend. Hint: if you're local get there as soon as they open and beat the crowd. It gets super busy after 3 PM...On the same note, maybe it's time to have the brewery open more than just the weekends? Just sayin'.... read more

I definitely needed a beer after our five mile hike at Cold Canyon. Very small brewery right next to a farm. Smelled like cows, but you get used to it. Minimal seating inside and plenty of seating outside. It was a beautiful day, so we were happy with the outside seating. There was plenty of people and a line at the bar. Not sure where they came from. I saw some familiar faces from our hike. They were the people hiking ahead of us and behind us. We must have been talking about having a beer really loudly. LOL! Service was good. Prices were ok. $5 pints and $8 flights. My only problem is that they didnt have any food except for some pretzel sticks. Wish they had something they could sell to snack on. It's not often you find a brewery that goes the extra mile to create an inviting and beautiful environment for patrons. I had a great time here unwinding after a strenuous hike. We wanted a cold beer and decided to stop in. This is a twofer, half brewery, half winery. One side of the property is licensed for serving wine and the other for beer, so you can't cross to the other side if you've got the wrong alcohol in hand. We stuck to the brewery. The good: The beer and prices are great. A beer flight of 7 beers costs only ten bucks. (Note: if you're not a fan of IPAs like me, there are currently 3 in the flight...none that I enjoyed much.) Of the beers I sampled, I liked the whipper snapper best. The porter is also good. Berryessa Brewery has a beautiful setting with great outdoor seating (tons of picnic tables) against a vineyard background. While we were there, a food truck stopped by and started selling brisket sandwiches. It's the little things: But what makes it even better is the thoughtfulness of the extra details here. All the picnic tables are covered to provide consistent and plentiful sun/rain protection, and there are fans for the hot afternoons. Pots of succulents add additional charm on each table. There are even games to play if you're so inclined, entertaining both yourself and spectators. We played a fun game of Giant Jenga, using foot long blocks. The great thing about Jenga is that there are a lot of winners :) and only one loser :( They also have what looks like a bocce court in the area between the winery and brewery. Would I recommend? Yes, if you're in the area and want to grab a drink or just hang out for a few enjoyable hours, this should be the place for you. read more
