Many years later was back to try the Thai spice chicken wrap. Just thought that the wrap would be better with hot chicken breast, not deli chicken. Produce was good, but didn't go well in that wrap.

Probably one of the best sandwich places I've been to in a long time. Absolutely delicious, deadass. This sandwich shop was very clean, bright, with the staff being so welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere being so friendly, and the food came out so quickly. So fresh, so full of flavor, and it only left me wanting more, which is a great thing because it'll keep me coming back. if you are feeling like you want a deliciously-cold sandwich, on a hot Summer day, this is the place to go.

Perfect spot for a quality hearty breakfast and a decent latte! The guy behind the counter was great too. He says he didn't squeeze the OJ, but someone certainly did because it was delicious!

Had a business meeting here and it was perfect. Quiet, plenty of room and the sandwich was good and basic. Next time will branch out and order something bigger and interesting.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered a few things. We got a club sandwich, Oreo bar, pesto pasta salad and potato salad. The sandwich was toasted and had plenty of fixings. It was simple but delicious. The pesto pasta salad was super tasty but the potato salad, while good tasted like it was from the grocery store. The Oreo cream bar was dreamy and delicious. This is a quick no frills spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was friendly and food was good!

I still stop by Bertha's when I'm in the area but it's under new ownership now so my beloved turkey sandwich isn't as good as it used to be. The turkey that they used to roast in-house with rosemary now tastes more like ordinary turkey lunch meat. The bacon now tends to have a lot of fat on it and they're not as liberal with the pesto mayo. On a final sad note, the complimentary chocolate cookie isn't the same: it's now dry and chalky. I'll keep my review at four stars for now, as the sandwich is still better than many, but they're going the wrong direction.

We're all too familiar with the Over Easy's and Hash Kitchens of the world, and while great, we expect them to be. Their ubiquitous nature, while not entirely fair to them, makes one take them for granted. That being said, maybe the scorn isn't entirely unearned, as the bigger a chain is, the less of a personal touch they potentially have. To that end, I'm more than a little fortunate to have found perhaps Phoenix's best kept breakfast secret, Bertha's Cafe! Bertha's has been here right under many of our unsuspecting noses for the better part of 20 years, surviving all the shenanigans of the aught years and more recently Covid. Bertha herself built up quite the reputation for the restaurant focusing on a customer forward and quality ingredient laden home cooking approach coupled with reasonable prices, and impeachable cooking expertise. My brother Steve and I, stumbled upon it doing a Google search upon finding out that they shuddered the doors of the Over Easy on Camelback and 24th St. of alternate breakfast spots. After agreeing to try it, and not expecting much, we were immediately and warmly greeted by Mary, whose family now owns the place after purchasing it from Bertha after she tapped out to enjoy other endeavors. Many folks would start casting side eyes after a sea change of management, but I'm happy to say the reputation that was built carries over into the new ownership through a redoubling down on all the core values that Bertha painstakingly implemented. Mary suggested the Chorizo burrito. Being no stranger to this at other places, I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshingly different in the best possible way, this one was, exuding such delicious flavor with it's perfect marriage of Chorizo, cheese and potatoes. Paired with a zesty but not overly spicy Salsa, you'll wonder where it went, you'll eat it so fast. With a large breakfast and lunch menu and a veritable goldmine of heavenly pastries, brownie and other dream bars, this diamond in the crowded breakfast rough is just begging to have it's untold treasures discovered by Phoenicians and weary tourists alike. So that hard earned cash you were going to give to the major breakfast chains? You would do very well to hand it to this hard working and well deserving family instead, whose sole purpose is to reacquaint you with homemade food prepared with that which is missing from the faceless giants. Care, comfort and quality customer service. All the staff is amazing, from the rarely seen, but hardest working cooks led by Joanna and James, to the front of house with our lovely hostess Mary and the dashing Douglas, who both welcome guests with the warmest of wishes and the biggest of smiles. Try Bertha's today. Arlen approved. 10/10

TOP FAVE breakfast / lunch spot! Berthas Cafe is the best kept secret in Phoenix. If you know about it, ya know! If not, you need to hop on it!! Our favorites to order are the breakfast sandwich and the Turkey sandwich. So simple yet so delicious! If it's your first time you HAVE to try the turkey sandwich. The caramelized onions make it an easy 10/10 for me. Their lunch special is also a great deal! In addition to all their great breakfast / lunch options, they also have several baked goodies to choose from. Service is top notch every time. The manager is such a delight & everyone is always so welcoming. The space is actually great for groups large & small. Doesn't get too packed which is nice for days you want a nice place to dine in without having to wait long periods of time. Addthis to your list of places to try if you haven't already!! You won't regret it!

She made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down and checked on us just the right amount. We ordered two BEC sandwiches, which sadly are no longer on the menu, but wow, they were delicious! The bacon was cooked to perfection, crispy and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Instead of the greens, we opted for the Million Dollar Potatoes and they were super yum! Such a tasty choice and the perfect addition to the meal. Great service, delicious food, and a lovely breakfast experience. Thank you, Arely, for taking such good care of us. We will definitely be back!

The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.

The staff was friendly throughout our stay, and the overall property has a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy the sunshine and scenery. We booked an upgraded suite with a separate bedroom and TV room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. While the layout was great, the room itself could use some updates. The bathroom fixtures were older--the Kohler toilet didn't flush well and was a bit noisy, and the tub/shower combo had rounded sides that made it tricky to stand comfortably. The shower water also never got fully hot. The room had a slightly musty smell, and the carpets would benefit from a deep cleaning. The balcony screen door didn't close tightly, which let a few flies in, and access to the second floor required two sets of stairs since there's no elevator in that section. Even with those issues, the resort's location, views, and overall vibe made the stay enjoyable. With some room refreshes and a bit more maintenance attention, this could easily be a standout property. The setting alone is worth experiencing.

I found a great AAdvantage Hotel deal at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort and booked it. While it was a great success of a visit in terms of AAdvantage miles and loyalty points, my actual experience at the hotel itself was less to be desired due to the customer service and a big snafu on their part. I also have Hilton Gold status, though as I booked the hotel through a third party site (AAdvantage Hotels), I could see the stay and the stay history in my Hilton app, but I did not receive any benefits for staying there, which was fine as I didn't expect any anyone. I arrived in person to check in and already reserved and prepaid for a King 1 Bedroom Standard Suite, which had a nice view and reasonably spacious room (but not too much larger than a regular room at another hotel). The room was certainly not upgraded though there was parking available right in front of the entrance. I did not receive anything else at check-in nor did it appear that I'd get my regularly complimentary water. I did pay the daily resort charge which includes high speed internet access, access to the Falls Water Village, an hour at the tennis/pickleball court, an hour at the afternoon golf practice facility, two hours for a mountain bike rental, 20% off seasonal spa services, and 15% off select golf apparel. While I didn't use it, I had easy view and access to the Falls Water Village where you could lounge and play all day on their sun-marked terrace where you could find free-form pools, hot tubs, and cabanas. They even have a 138-foot enclosed water slide. When I checked out, I was told that a bill would be sent to me shortly since I did it on the app early, and when I received the bill, there was a charge for my room at the restaurant at the top of the hill called A Different Point of View. The catch is that I never went to eat there during my stay (or at any onsite restaurant since I live in the area and had my meals offsite). I reached out to the hotel who insisted that I did go there to eat. I promised them I didn't eat anywhere onsite and that they need to look at the receipt and see if it actually has my room number. They confirmed it did and that this meant I ate there. I told them to find my name on it and let me know if it was on there. After several more back and forth conversations, they confirmed it wasn't me and would remove the charge. They then mistakenly charged me double. Then they removed one charge, but it took more than a week before they removed the other charge. By the end of the exchanges, it felt like they were blaming me for their own mistake. While the resort is aged and rather pleasant, there certainly are training issues regarding the customer service offered at this property. I do not plan on staying here again in the future.
