Wow, what a special find today. We went and had great conversation with Brandon. He was awesome. We talked about where they get their beef and pork, and they have unpasteurized milk, love that! Feed yourself, know where your food comes from, be healthy, research, and remember you are what you eat. Small butcher shop with decent meat selection. I like that it is not a chain, it's not overwhelmingly huge, they label their sources, clean, fairly priced, and REAL deli meat quality and sandwiches. Their breakfast sausages were great! I come here for the AZ-farm raised Raw milk. Nice quality cuts of beef, chicken, pork, etc. Keep supporting AZ and our local farmers!! Ty! read more

Liked this place way more than I expected to! Their prices aren't too far off what you'll find in the grocery store, and they are rightfully a bit more expensive on most items. The quality truly is worth it. Cool little spot in a good location right in midtown. Tried the ground beef and flank, both delicious and full of flavor. My tritip had some issues and they replaced it with a fair value, A+ customer service. Got some hanger and more ground beef, can't wait to feast! This place should have 6 stars! Come here once or twice a week to buy meat, chicken, local greens, sour dough bread, and local dairy farm milk. Also, come here a couple times week for lunch. Their sandwiches are soooo delicious, and they use their own meat. I think I'm addicted haha! My favorite is their burger (the best ever) and their Mozz sandwich. The sandwiches are beautifully wrapped and presented even better than an overpriced fancy restaurant. A GD neighborhood treasure. Do NOT sleep on this spot. They have amazing meats and a variety of other delicious foods--cheese, vinegars and sauces, pickles, butter, bread, and a selection of wines. Many of which, are locally sourced. Dustin is knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me some ground beef to try for free since it was my first time in. I immediately took it home and cooked it up (gently) to try. It was MOUTHWATERING, seasoned with just a aa touch of salt & pepper. I nearly licked the plate clean! The owners are super friendly and will educate you on anything while taking you on a culinary journey if you want. They have a sandwich of the day during the week that rotates daily and is amazing. The quality of their steaks is on the same level or better than Nelson's fish and meats and this is exactly the place our neighborhood needed. Vintage touches decorate the customer area but the butcher's area is all business. Very cool vibe throughout. This is a meat store, actually a real, honest to goodness, butcher shop. The best I have found in Phoenix. They also have a nice selection baked goods. Yes, they have a small selection of wines along with a couple of good vinegars, oils and other sundries but the star of the show is the meat! Dustin knows his product: sources from sustainably farmed, grass fed, pasture raised beef and organic pork. In every conversation with Dustin his passion for his craft is evident along with his deep knowledge of his business. It is not cheap but you're not at the local supermarket praying that your purchase is edible. Never had a disappointing experience here. If you have the time and the means, give it a try. Wow. I have never been so impressed with a place that far surpasses expectations in every single way. First of all, the top-notch sourcing of local grass fed meat and raw dairy, which is impossible to find in Phoenix, is absolutely unbeatable. Plus they carry so many other local goodies like small farm greens, cheeses, raw honey and bone broth. Secondly, all of that for prices that beat direct sourcing from farms AND even major grocery store chains, which have extremely limited grass fed options and questionable sourcing/quality. And cherry on top is the owners who run the shop feel like family. They're SO knowledgeable about different cuts of beef and know exactly where each of their products was sourced from, complete with the backstory on each local farm. The shop itself has a neighborhood, rustic feel and even serves amazing sandwiches that vary daily. It's officially my new favorite one-stop-shop that makes me even more stoked to support because of the love the owners put into it! (Ps. Always friendly and have easily done things for me like spatchcock a whole chicken, debone and de-skin chicken thighs, and one day when they were out of ground beef, they asked me the amount I needed and had it ready and packaged for me the next morning. Been there twice each time there's been a variety of meats. I went In for some bacon before it sold out it's very flavorful some of the best I've had in a while. I highly recommend Underbelly Meat Company. You will probably see cuts of meat that you are not familiar with. Don't let that put you off. Ask questions, they know what they are doing and will explain the cut and how to prepare it. The Vegas steak, the Ranch steak, Hanger steak and the Rivette cut have become favorites. Don't pass up the Pork and Chicken though. My family raised pigs when I was young and this is the best pork I've tasted since then. Flavorful, tender and delicious. They have a cut of pork called the Copa chop. You've gotta try this. You only need salt and fresh ground black pepper and a hot grill. Cook to medium, rest it and enjoy. Yum. Finally, the charcuterie, liverwurst and pate are simply amazing. I just ate some of the pate I bought earlier this week and was blown away. If you are squeamish about these types of preparations I get it. Don't pass up the chance to expand your horizons, this is the good stuff. Underbelly Meat Company feels like home now. This is a lovely little butcher shop filled with very knowledgeable people. They were able to confidently answer all of our questions on the cuts and how things were prepared. They have a pretty wide offering of meats. We really enjoyed everything we got. The only issue was the cost. Very willing to answer your questions and make suggestions to to what cuts work best for the menu you have in mind. You MUST try their ham, such a far cry from what you can buy at Fry's or AJ's.
