Excited to eat here, but reality did not meet that excitement. Wanted to eat inside but the noise was so bad you couldn't have a conversation. We chose the heat outside over the noise. A little sound absorption would have been good. The noise level must be miserable for the employees Had the turkey with cabbage on the pita bread Would suggest if you like the filling get it on a bread roll and ask for extra cabbage. The pita was lacking in taste and texture Italian sandwich was pretty tasty. Spicy than thought it would be. Good flavour The winner here was the Italian sandwich.

The store is located in a strip mall & could be missed if you're not looking for it on the east side of the road. Small place with about 10 tables inside & a few out front. I think you can park/ enter through the back as well. Upon entering, I was greeted quickly by someone, that was great. I took a minute to look at the menu [on the wall], since this was my first time in... Ordered the chef special (roast beef) & iced tea. Sandwich is really fresh & arrived quickly! What a great place.

Love this place so much. I don't get to frequent it as often as I'd like because I am in the East Valley now. But, whenever I am in the Biltmore area, I make it a point to grab lunch and a loaf there. I love their semolina bread. And their lunches are great. I really started going there more often during Covid, they adapted really well to the take out game, and once a week I would grab their baked pasta. They are consistently good at what they do. And it shows, because it still tastes so darn good every time.

Updating the menu board. The Italian is still my favorite sandwich. Highly recommend the hummus too. Especially with the nduja. Enjoy! Always super busy lunch rush, but they hustle.

Came for lunch with my work team. First time for all of us and all of us purchased some bread before even ordering! I got some of their English Muffins, which we love for making pizzas! I had the tuna sandwich which is way different than any I've ever had! It is made with potato, bean, parsley, a cabernet vinegar and olive oil dressing and topped with arugula. This isn't your typical tuna with a mayo base and I found it pretty good. I am not one for having my side salad on the same plate as my food but I got an extra plate and moved the salad to its own plate. And because I love chips on my sandwich for a crunch factor, I also got a bag of Miss Vickey's plain chips. Topped off my meal with ice tea and one of their oatmeal cherry chunk cookies, which is big and chunky and so delicious. Overall a great lunch and great service!

We walked in to the cool little café style restaurant and was immediately greeted nicely. The menu is on the wall and was very easy to read from. All of the food looks great! I got the Italian, my wife got the Pressed Beef Sandwich, and my son got the Tuna Sandwich. We all loved our meals and they were so nice and fresh! We didn't want to do fast food before the Turning Point AmFest 2025 conference this week! Sorry for the half-eaten photos but we were in a hurry!

    Italian on a Semolina Hoagie

The bread is really good - but the sandwiches could use a bit more flavor. I got the Italian sandwich and I enjoyed the semolina hoagie and the giardiniera - both were delicious I just wish it had some sort of aoli or spread. My partner got the turkey sandwich - again, the bread was good but it needed something extra to make it worth the 14.00 price tag. I think they make good bread but the actual food is lacking a bit. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Heard so much about how I should come here for the bread since they are known for it. Ordered he Chefs Special of a sandwich with tapenade. My colleague who ordered the same thing and previously was a Chef agreed that he sandwich and presentation as underwhelming. We did agree the bread was highlight of our lunch meal.ordered a green tea ice tea only to learn that they have no packets of sugar or sweetener. Will pass the next time a want a sandwich.

The Italian sandwich was great. So fresh and the bread was also very fresh with the semolina seed and whatnot. The staff was very informative and very nice about it. I want to come back to try their other popular items. My friend got the Al pastor torta and also mentioned it was a very good sandwich and very filling. The arugula salad was a nice touch with the greens and overall the service was great.

This place is a must for lunch. Today we tried the turkey sandwich and the pork belly. Both were so delicious.

A maggot top right corner in my to go order

My first and last time here. There was maggot in my food. It's absolutely disturbing to take two bites out of your food from how hungry you are then next second to see a creepy crawler. I was sick to my stomach. Who knows how many others haven't even noticed and just ate their food right away

    Italian Sandwich, tangy and spicy!
    Alane O.

First time here and was by myself so my review is limited to one sandwich, but what a sandwich it was! I had the Italian. Everything about it was perfect. From the perfectly portioned meat to cheese ratio, to the the tangy dressing hugged by, freshly baked rolls dusted with sesame seeds, snd topped with these hot peppers that delivered just the punch needed. I've been thinkingbabout this sandwich since I left. Definitely will be back.

Are you able to eat in at your location?

Yes, indoors and a few tables outside.

Do they offer the panzanella salad anymore? I follow them on Facebook and their menu doesn't seem to have it on it anymore. Thanks!

It's not on the current menu.

In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. We will return for some more flaky, apple-y goodness. The webpage makes mymouth water. I see many items are normal and mini sized. Great idea Dawn.

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.
