We went on a busy Friday night. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered at the counter. The worker answered all my questions about the Hawaiian pizza. We decided on half pepperoni and half Hawaiian. It took a while to get to our table but they were pretty busy. The pizza was well cooked. The sauce was tasty. The Hawaiian side was a little soggy because of the vegetables and pineapples. The pepperoni side was good but not great. It was a pretty basic NY style pizza. We did enjoy it though. We will go back and try other toppings. I also got a garden salad with Italian dressing And crackers. I enjoyed the salad very much. read more

So I have not ordered from here in a while... And decided to give this a try again. Unfortunately my take out order....which was called in... And I did not check until I got home....so that is on me. However I ordered sundried tomatoes and they placed regular tomatoes....if you don't have them... Just tell me. Don't apply a substitute.... In addition.,.there was no basil... Pizza tasted ok...and that's a 3 star... Lousy customer service is a 1 star. I will take my own advice and check my orders. read more

This place is delicious. We got two large pizzas. One was just cheese and the other was half and half. So good and classic. The crust was nice and chewy and not crispy and crunchy. Pizza didn't take long at all to pick up. I can't wait to come back for another pizza fix. read more

Calling all my 80s babies!!! If you grew up eating pizza out and find tall red plastic cups with crushed ice and pop comforting you'll probably be a fan of Bertolo's. Sadly, no red cups or crushed ice buuuut the rest is a win. Great prices, delicious pizza & spaghetti for the littles (and the bigs) that's not over cooked and mushy. Add some sports TV in the background and ultra casual seating, sprinkle in a few questionable ceiling tiles and we're jn business. First time trying Bertolo's and was not disappointed. Ordered a pepperoni, a sausage pepperoni and green olive, and a buffalo chicken pizza. All tasted great. One of my favorite pizza places in Greenville. While I appreciate a fancy wood fired pizza, you can't go wrong with a small, hole-in-the-wall pizza place for weeknights or busy weekends. Bertolos is my go-to pizza place in Pelham! My fiance and I discovered Bertolos because they left a free pizza coupon at his apartment mailbox when he moved in. We tried it and it was delicious. Not only is the pizza good, but the pastas are to die for. The portions are very generous and the sauce is PERFECT. I love getting the sausage pizza- but I am going to try the meatballs next! I also love their salad. The prices are great and take out is so easy and quick. I will obviously be coming here again and often! read more

Everything about this place seems like it would be average, but when you experience it, it becomes above average. The food is good and worth the stop. The garlic knots are a must. This is family run pizza restaurant that has it's roots way back with Two Guys Pizza from the old Greenville Mall. The original Two Guys was opened by an Italian immigrant Piero Bertolo and the recipe and name carries on today at Bertolo's. This is a NY style pizza with the thin crust and zesty Italian tomato sauce. Typical of the style, the thin crust can be flimsy, which is why New Yorker's fold their pizza. This location also has a birthday party option for kids to make their own pizza and learn how to do that. Most of the time, we call ahead and do take out orders, there is no delivery. Recently, we decided to eat in. Rick, the owner (or one of them) and his family were there running things. They are very friendly. I've never had a bad pizza experience here and it is our "go to" pizza choice. read more

This has been our go-to local Italian eatery for the better part of two decades now. I've probably tried everything on the menu, with their Italian or Meatball subs being my favs, like the ones shown in my pic. It's not really the best Italian joint around, but then again, it's not trying to be. Prices are more than reasonable and their service is always stellar. The real plus is that I don't ever think I've had a bad experience in the dozens upon dozens of times we've dined here. Pizza is NY style and unpretentious. Spaghetti and Ziti dishes are always fresh and hot, Calzones are massive and can feed two, garlic knots are always hot and buttery. Antipasto salads are also a great alternative if you're in the mood for something other than pasta and/or carbs. Enjoy! read more

Good service. Pizza was decent. It's good to pick up one if you're in the area and you're wanting a pizza not from the chains. Dough was fluffy and chewy. I like most types of dough so no issue there. Sauce was ok and the cheese ok. Nothing really stood out in the flavors. I will go back and try the knots and pasta and prob order a cheese again. This is place where you must order at the counter - they'll give you your cups to self-fill at the drink station and then they'll bring the food to you when done. The food is excellent but they have flimsy plastic utensils. OK, so those people that love the New York Style pizza eat it with their hands, but there are those that like to use utensils, too. And there are plenty of other items offered that a sturdier set of utensils would be nice. While we were there, one of the workers ate a salad on her break - she had metal utensils! For New York Style Pizza in South Carolina, this was pretty darn good. The dough here was absolutely amazing and their standard 16" pizza was the perfect thickness, sauce level and cheese amount. I haven't had pizza any place else in Greenville, but this was pretty darn good. I also recommend the Sicilian Pizza (really thick crust, not deep dish chicago style, just really doughy.) It was really good and this dough just had a great flavor and texture. Two things made this a great experience. 1) Red Pepper Flakes, Parmesan, Garlic and Oregano at the table... not every day do you see that... 2) 5 guys ate like kings for $40. Others had different versions of the hot sandwiches and they all looked good, especially the steak and peppers sandwich. Check it out if you are anywhere around Pelham Rd. read more

Bertolo's is the ONLY place that we order from, and there's a reason for that: the people here (quite obviously) give a damn; the cheese that they use is very high quality; the marinara sauce is homemade; the cold cuts are good. The portions are good, and prices fair. The people working the counter are nice. Too many Italian restaurants in Greenville skimp. They skimp on the quality of the cheese they use (it's flavorless and too oily); the food is greasy, etc. Bertolo's is none of these things, and the quality of the food they serve is not an accident. So...although Bertolo's isn't NYC/Philly/Boston style Italian food, Bertolo's is very delicious food, well prepared, by people who are friendly. For those reasons Bertolo's gets our business. And...even though the pizza isn't crispy on the outside (they need to ditch the pizza screens or get hotter ovens), it is the best tasting around. read more

What a great family run pizza joint. Place was full with many carry out orders as I waited for my food. Very homey feel to this place. The cashier was soooo friendly and smiled and made me feel so welcomed (I was just in town for business and felt like I had been here many times). I decided on the manicotti and a slice of cheese pizza. Price was very reasonable, a little cheap for dinner actually. Portions were nice. The manicotti was good. A lot of flavor in The cheese pizza And the crust was just the right Crispy. The Pizza crust was A thin crust style and was really really tasty.
