I got takeout from the Chelmsford Bertucci's location over the weekend. I ordered the spaghetti, make your own calzone and garlic bites. The garlic bites were good, the pasta was very solid good nice light sauce , and my partners calzone was fantastic . Our meal came with a bunch of rolls which are my favorite rolls from any restaurant and a side of olive oil for dipping . 10/10. The order was ready in less than 20 minutes and we ordered on a weekend. Great service . The inside looks so nice and cozy. I can't wait to dine in at my next experience. read more

Daeven was a friendly polite and quick server. Very attentive overall. Enjoyed having him taken care of us. There were very few customers at this location. We have arrived about 830P. I haven't been to Bertucci's in maybe 10 years. If not longer. Remember the days that it was thriving with lines waiting to get in. It's sad to see the restaurants dying these days especially this one that had a great heritage. I had a margarita pizza which was good. My partner had the ravioli, which was also good. I didn't recall the prices being as high as they are, but also the location has an impact amount. The restaurant hasn't been renovated since it's been open. Definitely needs a slight remodel. Miserable. We were sat at a table with no silverware or napkins. I ordered only the tomato soup. It was basically a small bowl of stew, consisting of tomato, tons of Parmesan cheese, and a pound of salt, topped with basil leaves. It was inedible. Ordinarily I would've returned it and asked for it to be taken off the bill but we were celebrating a birthday and didn't want it to be awkward. The waitress never cleared away the dirty dishes - they just sat ignored on the table. She brought over one dessert menu for the group - a dirty, torn paper menu. We got the chocolate cake which I didn't have but other members of our group enjoyed. The table / chairs were uncomfortable and the a/c was way too high so we were cold. Wish we'd never gone. Expected better based on past experiences at other Bertuccis locations. read more

My birthday was just 2 days ago never have i experienced full character of a waitress. I don't have a lot of money and can't celebrate my birthday the way most can. Yet this waitress approached me where I felt overall our connection was peeling like opening a birthday present, ultimately leading to when I left, she outright embraced me with a hug the way best friends would who haven't seen each other in years. That kind of connection I felt with this waitress. I think her name as Sharonon or something like that. The moment my mother and I sat at our table she didn't do a typical waitress introduction we often see, instead asks if we want to move to a different table. While the person who seated us accomadated very well bc my mom didn't want to sit near the sun. It was still a very cute gesture. Now, the way she took our orders was something very special, ultra rare and is EXACTLY what this economy needs to improve on service. She treated us like a family she truly cares about. Now we've seen professional family attitude waitresses before but this felt personal and was so touching that my heart melted at that. Next, she looked at me eye to eye as though we were connecting on some deeper spiritual level for a few seconds. This ALSO is critical in service. You simply cannot develop a relationship to any customer or any person without a willingness to give direct eye contact, this waitress did that wonderfully. Next thing that happened was kind of funny, more than several times she assured us she was going to take care of us way more than I think anyone has ever said that to me. But what I thought was funny was how she points at me and says " especially this guy" now that almost suggested she wanted to go on a date with me, I can't be certain but it does however show she's intimately genuine with those she interacts But im not through. The drinks bled me my mind out of the water and way above the heavens with what she did. It wasn't what was served, but the number of drinks she served. She gave me and my mom not just our drinks but a complimentary refill without having to ask, that was way behind shocking and to say I was grateful for that is definitely an understatement Next, she asked if I wanted more rolls to take home I said no, she gave them anyway and she was right to do so. As if she knew I wanted more of them, and those rolls are a taste to remember! Lastly as my mom and I were leaving she did something no waitress ever has done to me. Now, that's a human with a heart and a soul I seldom see but it sure felt like the Holy Spirit was being Shared between each other. her service was way beyond expectation. We come to this Bertucci's very often. We love the food and convenience of this location. Everyone here just nice, however Sharmin always goes above and beyond. She's extremely friendly, attentive, and ultra pleasant. My family loves it when we see her as she is the absolute best. read more

We got here a bit after it opened and got service right away. The place is clean and nice. We've been to several other Bertucci's locations in the 1990's and loved their food. This was no different. We were served a small basket of warm bread rolls and dipping olive oil mix, nice. My wife ordered a large pizza with sausage, mushroom and onion, it was great. I ordered a fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, also tasty. I have no idea why it has got lower grades, but because I'm a fan of the place from way back, I did not let it sway me. Good decision. Waitress served brocolli after wiping Ricotta cheese off from a dish that was for my allergy sensitive child and lied to us that it was just garlic. What happened to this pizza? No fat chewy crust, no trace of the famed wood fired oven, and not much cheese if you got a slice from the left side. Dough with no memory of yeast to rise to, no tasty char, sauce tasting like tomato paste right from the tin, so very disappointing. How can you get a classic mac and cheese wrong? Well, Bertucci got it wrong! I ordered the mac and cheese and I was disappointed that they did not cook it properly. It was hot on the outside but when I started eating it, I quickly noticed that it was cold and thawing in the inside. They also did not add much bread crumbs. You need it a magnifying glass to find them! I talked to the waiter and he took it bad to the kitchen and heated it. He brought it back, and I noticed they sprinkled some bread crumbs. However, when I started eating it again, it was blistering hot on the outside and unevenly cooked in the inside. They could not get it right, even after a second attempt! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The service is fast and cordial. The food is fresh, and their olive oil dip with garlic and spices is generous and tasty. This place was very surprising it was late we missed an early reservation to a different restaurant we never had dinner. We got there around 9:30 to a surprisingly happy host in server. Always great, but per usual Bertuccis pizza requires garnish (and it is rarely there). Basil for a Magerita; lemon for a Silano etc. Vera Pizza was a big reward from Naples so let's be sure to follow through. I assume there have been no black olives available for the past 5 years since I have not had one on my pizza ever. Bertucci's continues. It's downhill slide. I went there yesterday evening, I had what they claimed to be was a Caesar salad. Dressing was thin and flavor. The croutons appeared to be and tasted like they were out of a box. A glass of Pinot Noir, which also probably came from a box came with a hefty price tag of $16.75. Been going to this location for over 20 years and just ordered pizza and wings. Food and service was great and I'll be returning again.

What happened to this chain? They are below average if they're trying to be considered a restaurant, or average pizza place? We could always get coupons online to offset their menu increase, but no longer. Our bill last night was more than the above average places we usually go to. Our waitress hustled because they're short staffed, but still overcharged us on a beer size. I asked for a large draft which she charged me for, but gave me a 16oz draft instead. (We caught it later). Yes other places raised their prices during Covid, but they went above the norm. Places that stayed reasonably priced are doing much better as they look at the big picture. We only went there as it was convenient after seeing family members. I don't expect this place will be open in 2 years. read more

Just ordered a gluten sensitive pizza. Knowing full well it might not be celiac safe. Walking into the restaurant, they have an open kitchen. Both guys didn't have masks on properly. The young woman who gave me my pizza was very kind. Very polite. When I got home I used my Nima gluten testing device and it found gluten. Definitely not worth the $20 if you have celiac. Definitely risky. Maybe gluten free but not free of gluten. read more

Never came to this Bertucci's but was pleasantly surprised! Had the tortellini and it was great. Server Lauren was super friendly even though we came in on a holiday. Worst! I ordered two pizzas, two mozzarella frittas and one cheese ravioli dinner to go. They said 10-15 minutes minutes. At 11 minutes the pizzas came out to their togo counter. 13 minutes later and they found the frittas on some counter. They still haven't started the ravioli. Another 10 minutes later they finally have everything. All they did was apologize. They didn't offer to make it right. The pizzas and frittas are cold. Thank you for a terrible meal. What was interesting was their explanation for the problem. They said their pasta station was backed up. Yet there was only five tables seated in the entire restaurant. At least three of the tables had already received their meals. Seriously! Never again. read more

The eggplant parmigiana --mostly spaghetti buried in sauce with about four slices of eggplant (peel still on and almost impossible to cut through)-- was $22. And then they had the nerve to suggest that for $5 more I could get soup and salad! My son's pizza and the grands kids' meals were also overpriced. My wife is a native of Massachusetts, but I was born and bred in California. Our career paths have kept us there, so when we are able to visit her family in New England, we have a short (long) list of restaurant "musts." Bertucci's is on that list for one reason: the rolls (well, and the olive oil spread/dip that goes with it. One thing or two - you decide!). On this particular New Year's Day dinner, and our last meal in Massachusetts before heading back to Boxborough to pack our bags for a 6AM flight, we were SHOCKED to see how busy the restaurant was. Well, let me revise - where I'm from in California, people love to go out to eat. All. The. Time. I expected a busy day. My in-laws? Not so much. It appears their sentiments won the day when it came to the restaurants own expectations. I'm pretty easy going when I see a busy restaurant. I get it - if we could all predict perfectly busy times, seating requirements, etc., we'd all be millionaires, right? It's the little things that matter most and sway my reviews. It's that attention to detail that can make or break a meal, and my opinion of a restaurant. This evening, all praise goes to the general manager, Molly. I know a thing or two about managers. Some like to wear the suit and tie, take the credit but place the blame. That's not Molly. Clearly dressed as a manager and not a server or host, she didn't shy away from taking ownership of her restaurant. She was everywhere - checking orders in the kitchen, serving food, seating guests, taking phone orders - you name it, she was doing it. By the time we were seated, the line to get in started pushing out the door, and Molly had her staff on task while leading by example, and every one of those guests were seated in a timely manner. Bertucci's was never going to lose our business. Those rolls are something you tell your grandkids about some day. But tonight, we were treated like royalty by an understaffed crew, and for that, we'll make sure Bertucci's in Chelmsford is our go-to on future visits back East. I purchased two pasta entrees for dinner last night and received lunch sized servings with barely any meat. We received half of a meatball with the spaghetti dish and less than half of a chicken cutlet in the rigatoni dish. Since I ordered takeout I was unable to review my purchase in person otherwise I would have stated my frustrations to the manager. I spent $40 on two 'dinner portioned entrees' with less than 2 cups of cooked pasta each. In addition to this, one dish had a hair in it and this is the second time that this had occurred to me at this establishment. I have never written a negative review in my life, but I feel that people should be made aware. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Eat here early Sunday evening. Not busy at all. Got gift certificates and I always enjoyed the Nashua store until it closed. Overall extremely disappointing dining experience. While not busy at all, the place was absolutely filthy. We had to ask for a rag to wipe down our table. While the food has really increased in price the quality was really bad. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs for $21 and it came out Stone Cold. Other dishes were hot. I waited to get the attention of the waitress and it took some time. By the time my meal returned it was so piping hot and filled with water at the bottom that I had to wait to even touch it. Everyone was finished by the time I was able to eat here meatballs probably previously frozen. Not something you expect at an Italian restaurant. Did not see the waitress again until the bill arrived on the table without even asking us if we wanted dessert. It seems like there were a lot of young people working here which is great but they need training. There's a lot of standing around talking when they could have been cleaning and attending to customers. Did not try the pizza which was probably a mistake. We all got pasta dishes which were less than good. Probably will not be back. So unfortunate to see the great restaurant like Bertucci's go downhill. read more
