The best Bbq place in ventura county definitely hands down. I grew up in the restaurant industry so I know exquisite food and bbq when I try it every time. I drive all the way from Oxnard just to order my two to four tri-tip dinners to go with their delicious and incredible hot bbq sauce is so amazing the hot I recommend if you can take the heat! Came with two meats , choice of beans and garlic bread and choice of two sides. Ordered both meats, wanted chili beans instead of sweet beans, and ordered macaroni and potato salad for both sides for both plates. I picked it up drove out of town again. I see this place changing by the day.. their prices have gone up.. but the quality and portions have gone down.. Visited just today.. as you can see.. I got 4 slices of meat on some old/weird-tasting undercooked bread. When did you change the bread? Bread was one of the reasons I love making the drive from Oxnard. This truly is the best BBQ around. They give you a massive amount of food, for a decent price. Beware of the spicier of the two bbq sauces, itll knock your socks off. If you like overcooked bbq with cooks who don't no the diference between medium rare and well done you are at the right place. Ate here three times ,last time I insisted the meet be pink. They pulled a tri tip off bbq and immediately sliced it. Asked me if it looked OK. Meat was pink but not rested. Live 3 minutes away. By the time I got it home the meat was straight Grey. Apparently resting their bbq 10 minutes isn't understood here. They slice meat right off the bbq and all juice and flavor disappear. Only people who have never had good bbq eat here. The only thing is, if you want extra vegetables they spoon the hem out with a slotted spoon but don't wait long enough to drain them so they seem watered down. Maybe they need more seasoning. Hands Down! One of the juiciest BBQ Tri Tip Dinner I ever had in my entire life! Garlic Bread is delicious and so is the Macaroni Salad. Chili Beans and Baked Beans are delicious also. Our first time here, the BBQ smells amazing. We ordered the Tri-tip dinner. It's $10 for one Tri-tip dinner, you get sliced Tri-tip, a big wedge of grilled bread with butter, maybe a hint of garlic but barely noticeable. They offer beans (your choice of baked beans or chili beans) and two sides: choice of cole slaw, potato salad, or macaroni salad. The BBQ sauce we chose was the mild one and it's really good. It's different than most BBQ sauces. It has what tastes like a hint of sweetness. It was hard to tell if it was home made... I could taste brown sugar and maybe nutmeg or cinnamon... It was dark and sweet. Not bad, unique. I liked it. The meat was well done. A little dry but that's because I usually choose medium rare. Not sure if there was a choice, we were not asked how we would like our meat so probably not. They were out of pork ribs when we got there, which we wanted to try so we got the Tri-tip instead. The cole slaw tasted home-made, it wasn't bad. Not thick and chunky; more fine. Flavor was okay. No complaints. The potato salad tasted home made. Mild flavor. The macaroni salad tasted home made. It wasn't bad either. The bread was huge and okay. I thought it was a bit dry but it was okay. I enjoyed it. The beans.. Hmm, not sure if the Chili beans were home made. They were okay. The baked beans were from a can I'm positive. Over-all I'd say on a scale of 1-10 I'd give them a 7. They were pretty busy for a Wednesday night. I want to try their ribs and the spicy BBQ sauce. The best thing was the BBQ sauce. It was very clean inside. The menu to order was a little confusing. Overall I liked it. I am hopeful they will improve on things a little. Best BBQ is the answer to a keto craving! Sure, the delicious beans, rice and salads are no longer part of my diet but the tri-tip and chicken make any meal amazing. I take-out meat alone and add to my favorite salad or veggies at home. The meats are tender and fresh. The customer serves is always pleasant. Not sure why everyone else said it was good. The only items that had any flavor were the baked and chili beans. Aside from that everything else was flavorless. A bit of salt and pepper goes a long way. The chicken we were given was the driest wing I had ever seen. I would have never plated that piece of chicken to a paying customer. I don't mind paying for food as long as it is good. This was not worth what we paid. Needless to say I will not return and make sure to tell those I love to steer clear from this place. 4 stars not five.....well the BBQ is good I've had Tri-tip, ribs and chicken from here all have been good no complaints. But all 3 different times I have to say their bread really disappointed me, taste real dry and paper like even with the dap of butter they add on it.
