The change in their process has gotten very irresponsible due to this issue with when you called that phone number for that location to somebody that's overseas that has English as their second language! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We ordered went in and purchased our items Feb 7th they didn't completely deliver our order till March 12th with multiple delivery dates changes last minute with no regards to your schedule. They continue to schedule deliveries even when you tell them that the date doesn't work for you. The managers Ari and Shawn need major training in how to communicate with customers and follow through with promises. Best Buy's customer service department over the phone is incompetent and do not listen to anything that you say and you will be bounced around over and over again. The only positive part of our experience were the sales reps Stephenie and Dylan as well as the delivery guys Mario and Sergio (who don't even work for the hotel circle store) who did all they could do to make our experience better as they saw what a horrible experience this has been. read more

I ordered a refrigerator online and setup up a delivery day and time. I'll spare you the majority of the details, but the delivery did not go well, at all. They dropped the new fridge off their van, damaging it. My wife refused to take delivery so we sent it back with the delivery guys. Best Buy; why do you not give them the correct tools to make such a delivery? The dolly they were using was too small and they did not strap the fridge to the dolly. They should have used a larger industrial dolly with webbing strapping to secure the fridge to the dolly. They also did not know how to shut off the water valve feeding the line to the fridge. It was only after they left, did I find out that error. Now, we have to wait for the new fridge with no offer of compensation from Best Buy for Best Buy's incompetence and the inconvenience caused. read more

Loyal and solid Best Buy customer for 25+ years... My experience with the store today was about as bad as it could get. Hotel Road, ABQ First - this location has to be the worst location of any Best Buy in the country ... it's located in an obscure unsafe (feeling) location which feels deserted. Complete with a strong "hired security presence" this store lacks a professional, pleasant and knowledgable staff including the manager I interfaced with today (her name is Ari). She was more concerned about fluffing her hair, and "counter tapping" her unprofessional overly long fake nails. I was as polite and pleasant as I could be explaining the deficiency with the $32 ear buds I purchased, and she continually referenced the 15 day return policy at their store. Repeating it over and over as if I am a toddler. I referenced the volume of business we've done with Best Buy over the years, and asked her to review our purchase volume." She ignored my request and suggested I should sign up for their upgraded program. Wow - Good To know Ari ... Good To Know Best Buy doesn't value customer loyalty. I wonder if this is the new "cuthroat culture" of Best Buy. If so, they deserve the type of customers who visit the store to touch products, then order from cheaper places online. There was 2 employees with customers but still Not 1 employee offered to help me nor did they acknowledge my existence and at least say "we will be with you asap". I went to Best Buy to get a pair of noise-canceling headphones. The first employee I asked for help was dusting a display case and listed their best headphone models and pointed to the direction they were located, but didn't come assist. The next employee I asked was walking by the headphone display and I asked if they could help get the display headphones to work, as the bank of displays wasn't turning on. He said they should be working, wasn't sure why they weren't, and that instead of trying on a pair in store, I could buy a pair and try them at home and if I didn't like them I could return them. When I asked for a manager to talk about the lack of customer service and non-working displays, I was told they were all unavailable for a "floor meeting" and the store didn't have a mechanism for a manager follow-up. I ended up walking by a blu-ray series set of 30 Rock and bought that, so not a total bust, but it's sure hard to get businesses to take your money nowadays! I'd recommend shopping elsewhere if you need to test the product you're buying in any way. read more

I entered the store at 146pm meeting to buy a laptop, the Alienware X 17, and a ring camera solar panel. No assistance at all, in the computer section there were four employees, one other customer besides myself, and I could get no assistance despite asking one of the employees who only responded it wasn't my area. going over to the ring, six different employees told me it was not their area, and to wait and someone would be with me shortly. There were 13 employees I counted on the floor, I interacted with seven of them and got no one to unlock the ring solar panel case. I have no clue what I'm supposed to do, you ask for help it's no one's area, you stand there and no one will come to you, this store Hass to be heading for closure because I had 3K I was ready to spend on a computer and couldn't find anyone, again, to help me. No clue who the manager is, but this is a normal problem and in a retail store where you are ready to buy something you should not be looking for someone to help you purchase simple items for over a half hour. I purchased an Asus computer from Best Buy in March 2023. It wasn't the first computer I had purchased from them, but it will likely be the last. I had learned never to purchase a computer without purchasing a warranty because anything can happen. I purchased the three year warranty with this one just as I did with the Dell I owned before. On Tuesday, November 19. My display stopped working. So, I made an appointment on my phone to go in at 8 pm. When I arrived there a Geek Squad representative who I later learned was named Dom spoke with me. I explained that my display was not working. He did not write anything up for the technician. He immediately jumped to having to send my laptop off and it would be away for a minimum of two weeks. He seemed to enjoy delivering this news to me. I was surprised. I am used to the Geek Squad members allowing the technician to examine it. I asked if there were anyway the technician could have a look. He seemed reluctant, bit when he asked the tech, the tech agreed to look at it. Dom told me I could walk around the dtore until the tech had a look. About twenty minutes later, Dom walks over to the computer section where I was hanging out and informs me that the tech was able to get my screen up and running. I walk over to the Geek Squad counter and Dom tells me that even though I have the three year warranty, it is going to be $40. I thought it was a joke. I said, "I'm not paying that. Let me speak to a manager." When the manager came over, I explained to her that I was never told that I would have to pay any money. Why would I expect this when I purchase a three hundred dollar warranty. Dom stands there and lies to her. That is what really sent me over the top. I have purchased so many items at Best Buy and always because of the warranty. However, most of these items could have been purchased from Amazon and Amazon offers the Allstate or Asurion warranties. This year alone I have purchased a Blue Parrot 450 Truckers Bluetooth Headset, Two types of One Blade razors, An air fryer, a coffee maker, and another Phillips haircut accessory. All with warranties. I have learned my lesson though. To be fair I was able to speak with the manager, Shawn that night and I came back to express my dissatisfaction with Dom the following day. In the middle are cell phones, cameras, video game/ consoles, and flat screen TVs! This place has all your tech needs! Believe it or not they even carry toys, Pops, and novelties. They've just got a little something for everyone. Because I'm a freelance photographer I find myself caught up in the latest camera tech as well as movies. Those are my main reasons for going to this place. More often then not I always find myself looking around and finding things I don't need but want lol. They are a bit pricey compared to Target and Walmart on certain things but they do sometimes have better deals when it comes to movies, and certain tech. Once inside, the greeter directed us to the Geek Squad where we got the screen saver replaced on a new iPhone. The last time I came to this store was 2012 and sadly not a thing has changed regarding their horrible customer service. I went in today and I swear, they had groups of employees just talking about nothing and not one person offered to help me. When I did finally get someone to come help me, all of a sudden another customer interjected and the associate went to help that person. Really though???!!! I managed to get someone again and while helping me, their coworker just keep interrupting us asking stupid questions. I ended up leaving without buying anything because the experience just reminded me why I stopped coming here. I've been to other BB in different cities and they don't compare to this one. Curbside pickup is AWFUL. We've tried to use this service several times and each time we wait for up to 30 minutes before finally going inside and being told "Oh ya...that happens a lot. He was kind while helping us even though we weren't looking for the biggest, most expensive TV. We had paid and checked out in under 30 minutes, which is much appreciated. Best Buy is always fun to shop when you want to geek out. This particular location has always been a favorite of mine, perhaps if only for the staff, many of whom have been here for several years and longer. I find it makes it worthwhile to ask for a representative by name. Some of them have called me to alert me to specials and new arrivals that were in my realm of interests. As far as the location, business practices and selection is concerned, I would say their ability to survive COVID demonstrated they do it right. I may be wrong but I think they've expanded their fleet of Geek Squad trucks and this could indicate a greater installation and home business office demand. I rarely use their returns process (like I am doing today) but it is always smooth, although sometimes the wait is long around the holidays. ok, I am a Sprint Phone Customer... and I have to say, if you are a Sprint Cell Phone user, and you are going to Sprint for your new phones.. you are missing out on some deals!! And this is true stories here... Now back 2.5-3 years ago, I went into Best Buy to get a phone because I didn't want to pay 10 bucks a month for the next 2 year my 2 teens' cell phones. Yes, I know, I am cheap, so I got them the HTC-M 7's for $1 each out the door... Yep that started my love of Best Buy. Now I am not saying they were the best phones. but they worked for them. They were smart phones, I was able to put free where's my kid and locking down software on them, to keep my kids safe surfing and out of trouble which they had seemed to need. Without breaking our budget. So a year and a half later maybe 2... I go back to Best Buy because I am itching for the latest and greatest Note 4 (although the Note 5 was already about to coming out)... because I kept running up on my max RAM on my Note 2. My hubby who barely uses his smart phone for one game, and to dial me once in a while... was fine and said we could live with our Note 2s a bit longer probably. Well, Ok, so a few months later they are advertising $100 gift card with Note 4 ... Sure why not... well, I jump as I am frustrated that I am constantly crashing programs still.. I go & upgrade Hubby & my phone as we upgrade our phones together. walk out of there with both our new phones, otterboxes, & no fees, & take Hubby his new phone & I have mine. 6 months later our washer breaks... we have $100 gift card to use, plus they have sent me in the email a $25 gift card to use... so we compare with Home Depot & Lowes - they price match.... give us the same model at the same price, we use the gift cards..so we have money off already and pay the rest in cash, because we don't use credit cards (personal preference). So here we July 2016. We decide to upgrade the kid's phones as they have taken over our Note 2s from prior upgrades... and they are now getting Galaxy S7s. With $100 Gift card Perk again... Again same type thing, we walk out with near $100 gift card after OtterBoxes are bought, then they sent me $25 gift card in my e-mail. PLUS they sent me $80 off my Sprint bill for being a repeat customer... so, here I am with more money than expected. We had been kicking around buying a PS4 so with the additional discounts we have been able to do so. I have to admit, I only gave them 4 because when I call their customer service line, It sucks... it sucks very badly... I wanted to flip them off... actually I did flip them off numerous times... But dealing with them for my Sprint needs... It rocks... It takes less time than it ever took at Sprint. They get it done, It saves me money. They go looking for ways to save me money on my bill... I like to shop at best buy for ideas and then go buy it online because it's WAY less expensive. When you think you're getting a great deal, by the time they add the protection plan and installation fees (for a tv) it's near double what one would pay online or at a big box store. Also, I've been shopping there several times in the past couple of months for various things (i.e. Appliances, electronics) for our new home. It was near impossible to find someone to help me. There seems to be ons of help at the cell phone area, but none of them ever know anything about the other departments. Overall...it ain't what it used to be. Such a good place to look around at tech even if you aren't buying anything or don't have money, the workers are so informative especially the camera gear pros, I asked a lot of questions about camera gear and they helped so much! I go here so often just to talk with two workers that work here and they are super interesting people who have a lot of experience in cameras and videos/photos! Love the surroundings and I buy everything here, I love how every time I walk in I'm greeted by friendly workers and amazing customers that like to talk about gear if I bring it up! I love to start up conversations here and I love talking so it's cool to talk to people that have same interests as me, this is by far the coolest store in Albuquerque and I go at-least twice a week, that's how good it is. Love the community and it seems like an interesting place to work honestly, keep it up Best Buy! Love what this store is doing, they help more than other Best Buy's I've went to and everything is great here, just wish they had more Ryzen 9 processors in stock, haha just kidding. I came in to look at a new cell phone. On sprint. I had gone to their stores several times but didn't like the atmosphere. Very pressured sales which I understand if that's your bread and butter. But here, it was very casual. I didn't feel 4 people swarm me to buy a phone and $200 worth of accessories I don't need. I was looking at the iPhone X. And to my surprise, I qualified for zero down. So I selected the 256 gigabyte model in silver, bought a case, set up apple care and was on my way. Pain free. The gentleman who helped me, I can't remember his name. We had such an awful experience here that we decided to drive across town to another location to purchase a computer. The woman who was helping us clearly didn't want to be. My husband knew the specifics he wanted in a computer, but didn't know which company/model would give him he things he needed within his price range. After asking for advice, the employee who was guiding us became obviously annoyed and irritated. Little did we know, the option he needed was made- it just wasn't available at this location which this employee failed to tell us. Even as she input specifics into the computer system, she skipped right over the model which would have been ideal for him. Luckily he noticed this and we politely excused ourselves and drove to the Rio Rancho location where they were more than happy to help us. Purchased an LG 50" TV at this location two years ago only to have the LED internal lights go out (sound but no picture). Brought it in to the Geek Squad to see what my options were and they were depressingly slim...pay $460 to get it sent out and repaired by a third party vendor or buy a new one in the store. With no empathy given and a slight shrug of the shoulders, I was brushed aside and sent on my way. Called a local affordable tv repair place the next day and had a 180 degree different experience. And now after only one day and $85, I have my TV back and running like new. Geek squad?!! They're definitely the geek, but without the knowledge nor the know-how. I ordered a phone online to pick up at this location. The phone was already opened; the seal was removed and the phone had fingerprints all over it. Unhappy with this, I went to return the phone. They made me pay a $45 restocking fee even though they were the ones that opened it - not me. I asked to speak with a manager about this. I was told that the manager is able to override a restocking fee. The manager upheld the fee. So I got stuck paying $45 even though someone at Best Buy opened the phone. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service imaginable. I recently went into the Albuquerque wets location near the cottonwood mall to purchase a security camera system for my home. After waiting for roughly 45 minutes for an associate to assist me I made a decision on a system on my own. I was able to get the necessary equipment however, when I got it home I tried multiple times unsuccessfully to connect the system to my Wi-fi network. The instructions included in the packaging were not super detailed and after reading through and having several failed attempts I figured I'd just reach out.to geek squad to help me trouble shoot. Well, apparently neither of the locations in Albuquerque are currently accepting phone calls so the only options were to hold for an employee at one of the national call centers. After being transfer 5 times to different departments and eventually back to the first one who transferred me initially I still was not able to talk to anyone who seemed even slightly coherent. I may as well have been asking them to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs. No one had a clue and kept transferring me down the line. Long story short, a large company like Best Buy, who I might add prides themselves on custome service, has begun practicing what I call customer disservice. Their staff is under trained, their stores are under staffed, they have fallen into relying on online orders after covid 19, and now it seems as if they don't want you to come in and shop in person. I for one will not be, and the nearly $800 in equipment is going to be returned and I will take this and all future business to someone who will actually service their customers. read more

I went to this location exactly once. I was buying a modem. I knew exactly what brand and item number I needed and what it cost. Little did I know that due to the supreme incompetence/rudeness of the Best Buy employees, this quick trip to buy a single item would take FOREVER. Walking in to the store, employees seemed to vanish the second they caught sight of me. The signs didn't indicate where modems might be, so I tried to find someone to help. I saw one dude helping a lady who was looking at electronic reader pens. Since there was a complete dearth of other employees, I walked up to him and patiently waited for him to finish with the customer. In this situation the employee would normally make eye contact and maybe say something like "I'll be right with you," right? This dude physically moved so that his back was turned to me, completely ignored me, and continued talking with the other customer. WTF. After a couple of minutes I journeyed elsewhere, trying to find help. A girl in a Best Buy uniform was walking down one aisle toward me. Hooray! I made eye contact and said, "Excuse me." She abruptly turned and strode away without responding. Double WTF. I ended up asking a guy at the Verizon kiosk where the modems were, and he quickly directed me to the proper area. The Verizon guy! He doesn't even work for Best Buy, he's a contract employee with Verizon! How is it that the employees in the actual store are totally unhelpful yet this random dude helped me out! Gosh! I found the modem in question. Walking to the checkout, I noticed a manager and managed to catch his attention. I told him about how his employees were rude and unhelpful and that the Verizon guy was great. The manager was even rude!! He looked impatient, looked at his watch, didn't offer any apology whatsoever and took the first opportunity to walk off while I was in mid-sentence. Triple WTF!!! It's getting harder and harder to justify seeking out human contact for electronics these days. With all of the resources available online these days, finding a digital drug dealer and getting my next gadget fix is proving easier, cheaper and more informative than walking into a box store, so consider this a dire warning of the times, they are a changin', Best Buy. Two years ago I set off to this outlet after surviving a really ugly cutthroat contract with Sprint, and my experience was pretty solid, I liked the guy who helped me out, but I remember noting that there were about five frustrated customers waiting in line behind me. Last year I returned to get a case and screen protector and it took a good 20 minutes to find someone who could help me. Today I returned to find out about my options for a new phone, since I'd survived my two year deal with the Verizon devil, and I noted I was third in line for the sole employee manning the mobile phone department. I waited 30 minutes. There was a guy working at the Samsung desk who was literally wandering the store with nothing to do, but he couldn't help me explore other options, like an iPhone. I left. One hour later I'd ordered my new phone on the Verizon website after reading countless reviews of my options, and I found a 3rd party case and screen protector on Amazon for a quarter of the cost of what Best Buy was selling. Translation: a better customer experience. I'm no customer service guru, but me thinks if this place doesn't staff up and prepare for the masses, the masses will go online. That is all. read more
