I thought today was my lucky day but was eventually very disappointed! I found the Starlink Internet Service system listed for $349.99 on the internet at Best Buy and decided that price point was good enough for me but to my surprise on visiting this store, the actual price was $279.99 due to an early Black Friday sale already in progress on Veterans Day. The purchase includes the satellite dish, the router, and the necessary equipment for a simple DYI install. However, since I am still recovering from hip surgery, I decided to let their installers come out to the house and take care of the installation. I had previously used Best Buy to install a 180 degree swing wall mount and mount a 60 inch TV back in the day when it took two people to pick up the heavier televisions. I was completely satisfied with that job and looked forward to another successful installation involving a lot more work. But the installation didn't happen. Best Buy used a third party company to do the installation. They gave me a 12 hour window installation date of the following day or the day after. I chose the latter to fit my schedule. On that day I received a three hour window late in the day plus a phone call from the installer but he still couldn't make it on time. And he failed to install the equipment blaming Best Buy didn't give him all of the necessary equipment to perform the job. I called the number in the text and spoke to a person with such a heavy accent I was unable to understand what she was saying. She transferred me to someone at Best Buy who couldn't speak much better and could not reschedule me blaming their computer system. Now I am ready to return the Starlink for a full refund. I don't trust the installation company at all because I feel that if your business is installing Starlink systems, you should already have all of the necessary equipment to perform said installation and not rely on the merchant. I was gifted a smart tv for Christmas by my son bought at Best Buy. I had no idea how to set it up. I went to Best Buy and they told me the Geek Squad could come to my home and program the tv at a cost of 119. dollars. I made the appointment and 2 men arrived as scheduled. They said they only set up the tv on a table or wall. Called Geek squad and explained my need and charged an additional $69.50. Again 2 people arrive to hang tv on wall. Another call to Geek Squad explaining once again what service I needed as I had 2 times before. Rescheduled another appointment 6 days after original appointment. They would arrive at my home at noon on Friday Jan 2. Waited all day and then another call to Geek squad at 4pm. I was assured they would arrive in less than an hour. There was no communication from them as I waited all day. The technicians finally arrive at 6:45pm. The technicians were knowledgeable and had the service completed in a short time. If this is how Geek Squad handles customer needs I will NEVER purchase another item from Best Buy. Both in store and telephone customer service employees were rude and dismissive. None recognized my need for a configuration and not installation. read more

My experience with "Agent Castaneda" at the Avon IN store location was nothing short of disgraceful and discriminatory. I've never encountered an employee so blatantly rude, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional, not to mention retaliatory towards me and several others.... "Agent Castaneda" didn't just provide poor service he was trying to provoke me-- he went out of his way to be **condescending and tried to be insulting at his weak attempt to put me down calling me a chimp and called me a lard ass**, resorting to **calling me names is deplorable** during what should've been a routine customer service interaction is ludicrous. It felt less like I was speaking to a trained professional and more like I was in a horror movie written by a less than subpar director named Mickey Mook. Someone that tiny minded should be walked outside and let go immediately, the Geek Agent had no business interacting with anyone! This wasn't a misunderstanding it was an assassination of his character in real time with his pathetic attempts to belittle me and others around -- it was a clear display of underwhelming arrogance and a complete disregard for respect of others. If this is the standard Best Buy holds for its "agents," it speaks volumes about the management and training at this location. I was severely disappointed when I left. I went here to have a car stereo installed. They did great work! It sounds great and the stereo looks like it could have been part of the car when I bought it. The staff was nice too. The installation did take much longer than they said it would and then I had to schedule a follow up appointment because the staff ran into a complication during the install. Although I've only had limited transactions here, I have to say that service I received was prompt and accurate. Although my wife bought her computer while we were at the Best Buy on the north side, when we learned having the start up (adding all the software & antivirus) would take several hours (up to 24), we found that we could take the computer to the store closest to us and avoid having to make the long drive again. So, we dropped off the computer and a few hours later, it was ready. I went to pick up the computer, and after showing ID, was able to pick up the computer for my wife (who had made the purchase). It only took a couple minutes for the tech to bring it out, and launch the computer to demonstrate it worked. No mess, no fuss. I was soon on my way. I found out they don't carry S10 cases in the store at all and my order wouldn't be ready until next week! So I asked if my order could be changed to delivery. After going to 3 different Best Buy's around the circle, I just want to say that this Best Buy customer service was the only one to apologize AND they were apologizing on behalf of the other stores. I went to the first Best Buy to by a new laptop. Online it said it was in stock, but they actually didn't have it in stock. I was told that Castleton did, so they put in the order for curbside pick up. I drive all the way over there and they handed me a box that had tape around it that said "Inspected by Best Buy." There was a HUGE dent in the back of the box. I took my butt inside to customer service. They had me open the box, because they said that it will be considered "open box" if the customer opens it. UH-HUH, you guys already opened it...so technically you were trying to give me an open box item when I purchased a new item. And what? You want me to make it an open box so you can resell it?? I opened the box and the guy said, "See.. no damage..." but he got quiet when I removed the plastic covering on the laptop and on the back was a HUGE dent. He then tells me, "Well, it's up to you if you want to keep it, return it or exchange it.." REALLY??!?! HMM.. keeping it is an option? I asked if they had another one, and he said no, but there was one at Avon and I could take this damaged one and exchange it there. I should have just returned it there, but I was concerned that it would take a many days to get the $1300 back on my card.. so I drove ALLLLLLL the way to Avon. I was completely defeated by the time I got there. Tired, HUNGRY...upset that Best Buy tried to give me an OPENED box, dented laptop. The customer service guy listened to me while I told him about the adventure I had been on to get this dang laptop. He was shocked when he opened the box and inspected the damage; a few Geek Squad and the manager came out to look at it as well. He apologized profusely and looked to see if their store actually had one in stock. And tbh, I was not surprised that they didn't have it; I was just so over this whole ordeal. I just looked at him with tears and said meekly, "Ok." He apologized again and gave me the phone number and store number to file a customer complaint. I ended up having the replacement shipped to my house. SIGH. Any way, if you have read up to there, awesome. Best Buy has started a very dishonest practice. I tried to call and speak to someone at the Avon Indiana store twice. Both times they routed me to their call center, the second person trying to convince me that I was speaking to someone at that Avon store, when I knew that I was NOT. Neither of the imposters I spoke to spoke English as their first or primary language. They both tried to sell me that what I wanted wasn`t in stock, but if I would only pay now and buy it sight unseen, it could maybe be at the Avon Store on Saturday. Twice now when buying phones we've had ten-fold better experience here than a Verizon store (Avon)... Alexandra was super helpful and dedicated to helping us. We came in an hour and ten minutes before close, and even though employees like Jeremy did not seem too fond of helping us or anyone that close to closing time, Alexandra got it done without question... and she was super kind and answered all of our questions. I was at best buy to get a radio installed in my car and was given a time estimate of 1.5 hours. after waiting 45 minutes after my appointment slot to start working on my car, the employees ended up taking about 2.5 hours. This was because they constantly took vape breaks and were not using their time wisely. they ruined my night and all of my plans. i DO NOT recommend. Went in store and paid for a freezer that they said was in stock. We took the day off work and waited our entire delivery period and then received a phone call that said we would not receive our delivery because it was out of stock and needed to reschedule. After speaking to multiple customer service representatives on the phone, a new delivery time was scheduled again claiming to have this item in stock. After talking it over, we decided to see if we could just pick up the freezer instead. When calling the store we originally bought the freezer from, one of the sales representatives admitted to us "I don't know how you got scheduled for this item to be delivered, we have not been able to get this item in stock and it was even taken off the Best Buy website." read more

I've always loved coming to this Best Buy and I come here often. Today I felt like I was rushed. I was on my phone looking at the Best Buy app to see if I had reward and Sharif, a sales consultant pretty much made me feel like he thought I was going to steal the merchandise in my hand by having me hand it over to him and then rushed me to an aisle where there was something else I was looking for before hurrying me along to the checkout lane to checkout. We were here at about 8pm on a Friday night. I needed to purchase a new laptop ASAP for my teaching job. My husband and I went in and found exactly what I needed (within 15 minutes or so), but checking out was horrible. It took well over 30 minutes to check-out--this included tracking down someone who could get someone else to help us, after being told by 2 other salespeople that they were helping others and we needed to wait. Ridiculous. Selection is nice but the check-out process for a major item was terribly slow. read more

Ho hum...a pretty typical Best Buy, large selection but the prices are just kinda sad. It is hard to imagine buying regular stuff here when we all know it is far cheaper online. Unless they are having a sale, this place tends to be a more browse but not buy place. Even Best Buy's online prices seem to be better than the stores. Service here has been mixed, some people seem to behave like they don't enjoy their jobs which is disappointing in a customer service role. Shout out to the awesome guy who helped us buy some appliances here a little over a year ago, we had done a ton of shopping and he was by far the easiest and best person we dealt with and we were happy to give them our business for that. The staff is better with selling add-ons than product knowledge...I think they hope their customer knows less than they do about the technology being sold. Now, prior to this experience I would've believed this business to be filled with hardworking and timely employees, but I must say that I received the worst service EVER here. Whilst getting a radio installed for my car, I was not only disappointed by the amount of time it had taken to get it done (well out of the hour-an hour and a half window), but shocked at the laziness to get the job done. Not only were the employees taking smoke breaks every five minutes, but also dropped everything for pizza. COME ON. Buyer beware! I've had two bad customer service experiences with this store. Without writing a book I'll just say beware if you purchase software. Mine went on auto renew. I didn't know that. My software expired & it showed it was expired in my computer (Webroot antivirus) so I deleted it then almost a year later I find out they charged my card about $30. So I paid & didn't get to use it. Supervisor Susan basically told me it was my fault - I should have called tech support. Duh? I tried to renew but couldn't get through. I purchased a LG G4 smartphone from Best Buy on 6/20/2015. The phone sounded like there was a bad connection no matter where I was at, the battery did not hold a charge anywhere near that it should, and the sound keeps going as if it were on mute or turned down when it is not, and it is usually slow even on WIFI. I went there after a few days and spoke with a female employee and told her of the issues. She changed some setting on my phone that she said would take care of the issue with the battery. She was insistent that my connection issues was because of AT&T's network even though I told her it happened everywhere and where I knew there were good connections such as my home and work. The phone I had before got excellent reception in both places. She told me to lower my voice when I was not being loud or rude to her. My wife and two Samsung workers that were close by confirmed afterwards that I was not being loud. I asked to speak to the manager and he gave me the same run around. Even though the phone was not a Samsung the Samsung reps tried to help me. They suggested I go to my carrier and have AT&T replace the sim card to see if that would work. I had the sim card worked and gave it sometime to make sure it worked. Needless to say it did not work. I went back to Best Buy and told them I just wanted to trade my phone in for another and I would pay whatever difference. They looked at my receipt and told me that it was 16 days and I had to have done it within 14 days. I asked again to speak to the manager and he said the same thing even though I told him I went there before the 14 days and was given the run around. I called the district manager and told him the whole story. I told him about how rude the first lady was to me. He acted like it was my fault and told me that they expect their customers to be respectful to their staff even though I told him I was and had witnesses. He also told me that there was the 14 day return policy which I was told and they expect their customers to abide by their policies even though I told him I went there the first time well within the 14 days. His response was that if I would have returned it within 14 days they would have returned. I repeated again that I did the first time. Then again he said the same thing. He could care less what I was saying. I would not recommend going there. They do not try to make their customers happy. read more

My daughter is in Arizona away at college and I'm in Indiana. I went to this best buy in Avon, Indiana to get my daughter a new laptop. The one I wanted wasn't available in any stores so without hesitation they shipped one from their warehouse in Texas to Arizona where the Geek Squad installed the virus scanner and did the backup onto a flash drive. Then Courtney from the Arizona store called me to tell my daughter to go pickup her new laptop. I want to give a big thanks to store #489 Miranda, Marcela and Jeremy for their endless patience and information while this process all played out and kept me calm. I seldom buy computers at Best Buy but due to a Christmas eve hard drive crash was looking for a quick replacement. Due to monitor cable/adapter issues took nearly a week to get up and running. Could have been one day if anybody knew what they were doing. Purchased a new HP desktop. Having researched prior to purchase I knew there were issues connecting the DVI output port to monitors. Before purchase I asked about adapters/ cables to connect to a vga flat panel.and was assured there was a solution. Bought the computer and cable they said I needed. took it home and discovered it was the wrong type of DVI ( there are 2 DVi pin sets). Drove back to store returned cable and bought adapter. Both sales person and I looked at adapter in in poor light of store missed the 4 additional pins Trip 3 - returned adapter and talked to general manager about problem, he then got a Geek squad supervisor involved. At this time having someone knowledgeable, I was told they had no cable / adapter to make that connection.My options were to buy new digital monitor or order adapter online from another supplier. Trip 4 after researching onliine adapter options gave up and purchased new digital monitor. And when I asked to look in box to verify the correct cable was with monitor was told by a sales supervisor that it cam with a vga cable but not a digital cable. Where he proceeded to sell me a 6' dvi cable for $25. upon opening box at home I found it came with a 6' dvi cable as well as vga cable. Sp trip 5 will be to return the cable I did not need in the first place. In summary this purchase involved 5 trips to store, 3 return product lines and 2 waits in long cash register lines. Every time I complained about poor service they were sorry but no one offered to make it right with a credit to compensate for time and mileage. Heck a $20 gift card would probably have made me happy. It's clear that they lack knowledge in sales area and also have no real concern for customer service. Needless to say I will be very reluctant to ever set foot in this store after the last return is done. read more
