Was at the Bangor store on 10/31, looking to buy a clothes dryer and wireless router. After looking for 1/2 hour, no one asked to help us, or even acknowledged us. As we were leaving, I voiced my concerns to the person at the checkout near the exit. He replied, "none of my concern." Over the years, I've spent thousands of dollars at Best Buy. TV's, stereo equipment, computers, many Apple products I have bought from Best Buy. Went to Target, and bought a wireless router. Went to Lowe's and bought a dryer. Great customer service at both stores. Best Buy lost out on about $1k of sales. The store was mostly empty. I now understand why. Customer service seems to be a mystery to them. read more

I ordered on-line, a refrigerator and had a scheduled delivery date of April 29, 2026. That day arrived, but my refrigerator was not delivered. The work man arrived but my refrigerator was not delivered. I was told that somehow my order was not processed correctly and that they would deliver it promptly the next day. The next day arrived and AGAIN, there was no delivery. I called them again and amazingly again I was told that they had no order and that they had to order my item and it would not be available until May 6th, 2026. All this was told to be despite having been given conformations in regards to the order and their assurances. When trying to reach someone at the local store, all I got on the line was an AI generated "helper." I am waiting patiently for May 6th to see if my appliance arrives. I have already lost 2 days of scheduling as well as everything in my refrigerator and freezer totaling approximately $200.00 which impacts me greatly since I am a senior citizen on a limited income as well as being disabled. I hope that this review helps others when considering this company. I know everyone has an opinion and a different experience, but this company seems like it has gone downhill quickly and does not appreciate their customers like they used to. read more

Just an update of my experiences here. We discontinued their extended warranty and repair services after a year. It paid off that year but the last two repairs we brought in they couldn't help us on, the first because he said the problem was normal for an old phone (which may have been true) and the second because of Apple's restrictive practices in what they allow for repairs on their products. So I still give the store 5 stars but the coverage just doesn't suit us and out older devices. The last time I was there, in fact, a young employee (by young I mean in his 20s - yes, I am ancient); helped me find the right Apple charging cord and select a new mousse from the dozens of options. He saved me some money by having the charging cord base be by Apple but the cord was a sturdy one from a competing brand. And the mouse works fine, being a higher quality Logitech model. So I still recommend Best Buy -- even the service contract if you have newer devices and computer. read more

Walked all over the store to find a clerk to assist us. Waited to get a clerk to help us find an item that was supposedly in stock. Waited for the clerk while he searched for it. Waited at check-out for many minutes. About 6 in line.......no cashier in sight. We left our items on the floor (about $258 value) and walked out. This store is hopelessly screwed up. There are not enough clerks/cashiers. There are a couple of service booths, but nobody home. I was shopping in this store yesterday. I noticed that about 1/3 of the customers inside did not have mask on. I asked an associate, to ask people without mask on to put mask on or leave the store. The associate told me customers can browse without a mask, they only need a mask to checkout. This is the stupidest policy I have ever heard. The manager must be a complete moron. What is the thinking in this? I told them I won't shop at Best Buy anymore! This policy is not going to make anyone happy and it's putting customers and associates at risk for no gain $$. Three years ago I signed up for the geek squad, after the first year they charged me again and I called to opt out but they said to late I paid that one and told them not to renew it. Well they did renew it I have refused to pay, I didn't sign up for a lifetime commitment I have been fighting with them since May. They tell me it's taken care of then I get a letter from a collection agency. Just called them again and was told I have to file a dispute but it's too late. I can't fault this place. Staff were so helpful and very knowledgeable about the products - if they weren't sure, they got the opinion of another member of staff, so I always got an informed answer. The Apple rep was sooo knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I met a few locals here and they even gave me pointers on where to eat. I love best buy they have so many cool things but the people that work here will sell anything to you whether it works or not. I just got a projector for x-mas and I wanted to hook up my Xbox one to it, but there was a catch, and that was that I had to buy a HDMI to VGA converter. I went to the store talked to a guy who was very helpful but he sold me the wrong product. I wasn't too upset since he probably just thought it would work but it didn't. So I returned it. Did the same thing except I talked to a different guy and he gave me this whole spiel about how good this product was and that it would totally work..... Boy am I gullible. So I bought it. Spent $83 just so I can watch myself go through hours of customer service phone calls just so that when I go back I can get what I need so I can play my new games on my new projector. I was told this by the in store staff after trying to call for 6 days straight to schedule a car audio installation. They also no longer have an installer at this location so I was out of luck. Two days before going out of town, I naturally dropped my iPhone on a concrete floor, shattering the screen. The next day I walked into Best Buy's Geek Squad without an appointment and explained my predicament. Not only were the staff knowledgeable and professional, they fit me into the schedule, repaired the screen in about an hour, and the iPhone was ready to go. This was one of the most pleasant, professional, and efficient service experiences I have had in quite some time anywhere in Bangor. Five stars...plus. Got a call this morning. They left a message that my phone which I left for repair was not going to serviced in store. Told me they send all there iPhones out for repair now!! If no I had any questions just call him back. His name is bob. He left me the number to the local store and he worked in the geek squad. Well all fine and good but they got the wrong number. I don't have my phone there and if I did how would I get his message. Besides that I tried to do my duty and call bob to let him know he didn't call the right number. After using there automated phone service. $:):$;&;$/$)/. Then being on hold for 10 minutes. I am told that the local stores don't take calls anymore and John will eventually figure it out He kept trying to get my phone number and just hung up on me. I mean what is this world coming too!!!! Best Buy did a wonderful job delivering the new tv to my Father. The servicemen were very courteous, professional and helpful to my Father. They employees did a wonderful job explaining the different types of televisions and we ended up with a smart tv. The new TV was an affordable deal for a fifty five inch television and that was an added plus! My father was delighted with the present to say the least. First I did an in-store pickup only to find out one of my 3 items was coming from another store. So i picked up 2/3 items flawlessly yet the third item ended up being shipped. I ended up returning said third item, but paid with paypal, because that was an option online. Assistant Manger Liz was not empathetic in any way that i didn't want a best buy gift card. When I asked for a different solution she said No. Stephen overheard and refunded quickly to my paypal. He gets 10 stars. Best Buy.com sent me the incorrect item recently. Repeated calls to them resulted long wait times, 1 hour and 42 minutes. All this during Covid-19. No big deal right, just a bit irritating due to all else that is falling apart. Enter "Chill" from the Bangor store. Do not get a black tie protection plan for your tv. It's a complete rip off because it's just an extended warranty not a replacement plan and TVs lose their value very quickly. You don't find out their TV policy about damage until you're standing in front of them telling you that you got had essentially. It's dishonest to market a product this way and the employees acted like tools when I tried to explain that I'm from Minnesota and the plans for many items via black tie protection have changed from a no questions asked exchange policy to a only specific instances so they can protect their bottom line. Great for their company but not for the customer. Will be taking my business elsewhere after nearly 2 decades of shopping at Best Buy for my electronics. I've had black tie protection on many different products and didn't even think to ask if TVs had some special exception to damage or a spill etc. Best Buy has gone to shit. read more

Terrible customer service after a purchase. Beware of return policy: only 15 days. Attempted to call the store on several occasions over a period of two weeks for help with the purchase. ....no answer....just music. Purchase was was past the return period when someone finally answered the phone. And it was too late to return the item. They would not make an exception even though we had been calling for two weeks and we are in the midst of a pandemic- trying to limit our exposure. read more

i came to this here best buy to purchase a new laptop. i asked to be directed to the section of computers, and i was. i was greeted in that department by an employee named Jared, who was very helpful in assisting me with picking out the best laptop for my needs while not trying to upsell me or push me to buy anything i didnt want to. he even sold me a tech support program of some kind that im sure will be very helpful when i spill whiskey in my keyboard again, haha. what really struck me as above and beyond in my best buy experience, though, was jareds skill as a salesman. that guy is one heck of a smooth talker. he could sell sand to a saudi! due to the reasonable prices, and more than that the fantastic employees, i will be coming back to this best buy for all my tech needs. make sure to ask for Jared if you happen to go to this store, he really does make the experience a pleasure. read more

Had several big purchases this past month: 60 inch TV, dryer, Wii U and accessories. Each time there were small hurdles in the process i.e. TV out of stock, dryer price increased from expired sale price, Wii U price match. The staff and management helped us through it all with ease and with friendly service. I felt like a schmuck asking for an expired sale price, but the manager considered it and decided to honor it. read more

I was surprised and disappointed by my visit to this store today, having shopped here happily in the past. I came to the store intending to purchase a new laptop, and had already narrowed my choice to 2 models prior to coming to the store. The phone tree did not allow any options to speak to a representative for questions, so I went to the store. Because I am unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, I was told that I may ENTER the store, BROWSE, but could not ask any questions of associates and also would not be allowed to check out my purchase. I was offered no options other than leaving the store and ordering online - not even speaking to an associate from my car on the phone and providing a credit card number over the phone - both of which I would have been willing to do. I contacted the store management and was curtly told this was "store policy". What protections are they thinking they offer anyone by allowing shoppers that cannot ask questions or check out? I understand stores setting their own policies but this one is VERY customer unfriendly. I left and went next door to Staples, where I got exceptional service and that is where I will take my business in the future whenever possible. Best Buy just lost a good customer forever. I took my laptop to the Geek Squad in Bangor because my Macbook Air kept restarting over and over. I figured that a corporate company like Best Buy would be the safest place for me to fix my laptop. The team in Bangor was unable to fix it and shipped it away to the larger Best Buy Apple repair center. The larger repair center got back to me with a quote of 1680 dollars to fix my laptop and told me I was better off buying a new one from them. I was very upset with this considering my laptop was only 4 years old and I had spent a great deal of money buying one with a better processor. I trusted what they said not having any more time to spare because I am in college and bought a new laptop. I sold my old laptop on Facebook marketplace for parts or to fix. The guy who bought my laptop reached back out to me to tell me that he believes Best Buy scammed me because all he had to do to fix my laptop was reinstall the operating system. I am now out 1000 bucks for my new laptop and out of a better laptop because I could not afford the same one I had before. I am also out of the time I spent waiting for them to potentially fix my laptop, which feels like an eternity when you are a student in all online classes due to COVID-19. I am very unhappy with my experience and cannot recommend enough for people to go elsewhere to fix their laptop. I would go 0 stars if possible. read more

This was the worst experience a geek squad and Best Buy could give a customer. I dropped my phone off at geek squad in Bangor on February 16 at night. This was for a replacement phone. That is what I was told by geek squad that my phone would be replaced completely and it would take 5-7 days for a whopping $350.00. So for a process so expensive I expected it to take how long they told me. Anyway a week went by and I went into the store and the worker told me 2 more days and I would have my phone. So two more days went by and I went back into the store with the same issue and a different associate gave me the same answer. "2 more days you'll have it!" Well this was false again. After two weeks my "service order number stopped working, and t never really worked in the first place all it said was "assigned to Brandon." So I got apple involved. They fixed everything and even compensated for geek squads crappy customer service. Well when I asked what took so long, they said the phone was being REPAIRED and that they only received it two days prior. Apple proved to me with documents that geek squad had held onto my phone for over a week before mailing it, told me it was almost done while they hadn't even sent it out, and over charged me by 220 dollars!!! This was outrageous, and absolutely the most nonsensical transaction I could think of. I'd give no stars if possible. read more

I went to best buy on 9/2/17 in search of a dependable laptop for school. Though I was interested in a laptop that was only $200 the sales person kept pushing me towards a HP laptop that was $600. I ended up deciding to go with the $600 laptop that was recommended. After having the laptop for 20 days it has now had multiple issues. The computer froze during a reset called HP customer service and they told me to shut it off and restart which wouldn't work so I had to reset the computer and lost all saved documents on the computer (3 homework assignments and 2 essays) Fast forward another week and the computer froze during a restart and now randomly exits out of applications without warning. (Super hard to get through school work when you have to save it every other sentence.) AND on top of that it now randomly disconnects from the internet and then doesn't reconnect until being restarted. Unfortunately I am 10 days past my return period and there's nothing I can do except never buy anything from Best Buy again. Would recommend Walmart or Staples if you're in need of anything. read more
