This store has the worst customer service! I bought a brand new iPhone Air which has a hardware issue. We already brought it to the store once and the Geek Squad guys were awesome and actually got the phone to turn back on, however, I lost everything. For some reason, nothing was backing up to the cloud and it had to be factory reset. Well, the phone started doing the same exact thing it did before bringing it to the Geek Squad. We have been trying to call the store for multiple days, however it is completely impossible! We don't live in Carson City so it is a long drive for us to go there. We finally got through to somebody in India, who told us they don't have a way to connect us to a person at the local store. Then, we tried to schedule an appointment online and it says there are no upcoming appointments available. So we are trying to figure out when we can drive to Carson one day after work and hopefully get to talk to a real person. What a joke. I will never buy anything from Best Buy ever again! read more

I had a problem with a just purchased software, Microsoft Home, that was installed via ONLINE with Best Buys Geek Squad. After the lady installed it on line, it did not fix my Outlook Comcast email, she said, wait 1 hour. Well it never worked, so I took my PC to Best Buy in Carson City, worked with Jake Kemp, and he fixed it and made my PC work just like new. Jake was professional, friendly and showed what Best Buy customer support is all about. I had to purchase the yearly software Micro 365, and was told to call the Geek Squad to get a refund on the Micro Home at $179. I did and got the refund. Whoever schedules service for appliances is completely incompetent. Tried to get my refrigerator repaired paid $125 just to get someone out to see what was wrong, 2 weeks later returned and installed and unnecessary part, refrigerator still didn't work 6 weeks later still waiting was scheduled 3 different times and all 3 were cancelled by Best Buy and rescheduled 2 weeks later each time. NEVER GOT THEM TO FIX THE REFRIGERATOR!! Called a local company to repair it came the day o called and then returned the next day and repaired it. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

I brouib my Samsung phone that I dropped for the last time. 2/3 of the screen was unusable. I bought a new one but tranfering my 1,000 plus contacts and 15,000 texts was now going to happen without ability to control my old phone. The kid at the store was tenacious in solving the problem. He came up with adapting a mouse to my phone and he knew were to click the screen with it being blank. It took him about 45 minutes to get my info to start transfering. First time shopping at this location. It's located in a nice and bright strip mall. I was set on picking up a Samsung sound bar and of course, there are so many brands on the market.. that sound amazing. We had Oliver the sales clerk explain the different systems, and finally decided on the Sonos.. Sonos had crisp, sounds.. and very sleek. However, after a few hours of trying to connect last night.. it would not plus I didn't like having a remote.. Time for a trip back to to exchange for the Bose 300. read more

My wife and I have had Best Buy In Home Insurance fojr the past 3 years. I have been trying for the past 6 weeks to get them to come out and fix my computer(which I bought from Best Buy 18 months ago). So far counting this morning they have now cancelled both our in home appointments to fix my computer but also to install a brand new computer my wife just bought. I have bought multiple items, from appliances to small knick knacks. I got a TV as a gift to hang in my man cave. I went to hang up last night, and the tv has lines across and wouldn't turn on. After I went to them to exchange said he couldn't do it. He looked at my account and not only saw the customer I was, but went as far as to say it is ok if you cancel your membership with us, there is nothing I can do as it looks like "i" did the damage. Are you kidding me? I bought a 4,000 tv from their magnolia center didn't even bat an eyelash or ever return it, and now when I go to exchange a 300 tv they freak out. Best Buy did a fantastic job helping me traverse the muddy waters of premium sound. I walked in with limited knowledge of what I wanted/needed. I started looking at speakers and such trying to figure out what works best. I wasn't sure so I asked for help. I was approached by a lovely young woman that asked if I needed help. I replied that I needed an expert in premium audio. She replied that Bob was busy but their store manager is an expert on magnolia home theater and will assist me in a few minutes. I browsed for a few and met up with the store manager who demoed the system and speakers I was interested in along with answering any additional questions I had. I decided to move forward with a speaker package and power conditioner. Now the issue was finding what's in stock and what needs to be ordered. The young lady that initially helped me solved that issue for me and I was able to grab what they had in stock, pick up what I needed at a neighboring store and only a couple items had to be ordered for pick up next week. It was both the best of times, and the worst of times, and I keep rooting for folks to be able to compete with Amazon, and today Best Buy was both good and bad. The good part was the way that they handled a return. I walked in, showed them my receipt, explained why I wanted my money back, and they returned my cash with no problem or hassle. The bad part was over in the Magnolia section. I'm looking for answers on a home theater system, and there is nobody to find. I go to the next section, the one with all the TV's and the more approachable (less expensive) home theater systems, sound bars and such, and I find somebody. She takes me back to the Magnolia section to get an answer, and there is still no help. So, I leave the store, satisfied that my return wasn't hassled and frustrated that I didn't get answers on home theaters. The real good part was that I was in a store attempting to talk to people, not buying via Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime is great, but they need competition. Best Buy just needs to figure out how to compete consistently. read more

This is about their warranty policy and repair service,no reflection of the store or their employees.Purchased a gaming laptop last Jan, and I also purchased $200 total protection policy to go w it. Laptop breaks,it won't connect to internet,I take it in,they send it to their repair center in Kentucky and I get it a few weeks later,no charge,yea! also not fixed! They updated,nothing else,I kept calling 1800 geek squad and couldn't get a person on the phone who knew anything ,lots of sorries and silence ,worst call center ever.Today I take laptop in person to local store and they were all nice guys,and helpful. I'm told my option now is buy the part and pay them to fix it, or buy another year warranty at $200 A YEAR,SEEING HOW THE LAST ONE WAS COMPLETELY USELESS AND A COMPLETE RIP OFF, I'M LOST AT WHAT TO DO!Except go to Costco from now on and not deal with this. A few weeks ago I made an appointment with The Geek Squad inside of Best Buy. My iPhone needed a new battery, and I wanted to make sure I got a new battery before Apple was no longer to get them from China amid the Coronavirus epidemic there. My appointment was for 1:30 in the afternoon, and I arrived 5 minutes early. I was given no time estimate when I made the appointment. The person who checked me in started running diagnostics on my phone. He told me that he could do no work on the phone until the diagnostics were done. Apparently he connected the phone to his computer with blue tooth, as he moved back and forth between the two devices. Meanwhile, the female employee came over to him at least 3 times to ask questions and get his help. On one of these interruptions his computer crashed, and he had to move to another one and start the process of running my phone's diagnostics over again. This process took over 40 minutes, and had to happen BEFORE he even charged me for the battery! Once he charged me, he started to take the phone in the back and told me the tech was going to work on it (I thought HE was the tech!) I asked how long it should take, he told me 1 1/2 hours, but I could come back around 3:30, as it might be ready then. Carson City is 35 minutes from my house, one way. While the time was longer than I wanted, I had some errands I could run to kill time. I showed back up at the store at a little after 4:00, giving them an extra 30 minutes from the estimated time. The person I had dealt with was no longer there. I told the new person I was there to get my phone, and he said it would be at least another 1/2 hour! I said I had been told 3:30, and that I had given them an extra 1/2 hour on top of that. He said, "well, the person who told you that is new and he doesn't know what he is talking about." (way to throw your coworker under the bus dude!) I walked around the store looking at things for another 1/2 hour, went over to the desk, and was told it would be another 1/2 hour. So at this point I was a little miffed. I asked for the store manager. I talked to the store manager who basically shined me on with, "I will let the Geek Squad manager know they should give time frames on the phone when you make an appointment." Really, if I had know it would have been that long, I would have simply left my phone and picked it up the next day. This was extremely poor customer service on their part. The upshot of the review is - if you use the in store Geek Squad, just leave your item until the next day, unless you want to kill hours in Carson City. read more

On hot pursuit for a new phone and the folks at Best Buy know their stuff. They have all of the cool gadgets to help with using unlocked phones. Got some help with cutting down a SIM card to stuff it in a Google Nexus phone (unlocked). The guys who work at Best Buy are very friendly. They are smart and helpful. Love their toys at Best Buy. The store in Carson City seems smaller but still the same great service. Good to have these larger chain stores to boost our economy in Northern Nevada! read more

This is the third time that I have been to this particular "Best Buy" store, and it is the same story each time..... NOBODY WILL HELP YOU IN THIS STORE!!! I stood there for 10 minutes trying to flag a sales person to get the item that I wanted that happened to be in a locked display case. There is proximity rule in retail, you acknowledge a customer when they are roughly 10 feet away from them. The employees of this store must of forgotten this rule. But good news, I went to my local AT&T (next to this particular Best Buy) a purchased the same item and was in-and-out in 5 minutes. Way to go Best Buy's! read more

My son and I accompanied Gayle and her mother into Best Buy to buy a new laptop computer. Gayle and I actually have had similar conversations with our respective parents about what they need, using a service that helps set them up at home, the redundancy of aol.com (which remains in both households), and the long time it took to convince them to ditch dial-up service. Of course, we're also talking about computer usage that doesn't go much beyond email and visiting specific web sites. And the idea of wireless in the house just brings a blank stare. This particular Best Buy is small, so if you're looking for an iMac, forget it and drive up to Reno if you want it from Best Buy. For the matter at hand, I thought that the guy who helped Gayle and her Mom through the process was friendly, helpful, and not too pushy on selling the extras. They found a nice Toshiba laptop at a good price, that was ready to go when they got it home. Our store stay was also short enough to allow my son and me to look around, but not stand around bored for too long. Gayle and I also got a few good tips on various shortcut options for our drive back to the Bay Area. Of course, with a good snow storm, all bets are off. read more

Best Buy is at the point of no return will survivability of the company. National person answer the phones with no way to get you to speak to the local store. I have a return/replacement issue under warranty and I cannot get anyone to speak to locally to schedule. Just a place to leave a message ... and 8 hours later, no return call. Additionally I have 2 purchases that can be scheduled with the replacement ... but this company will lose because I need this done in a timely manner for safety reasons. I would sell your stock in this company because it will soon become another grave stone in the dying customer service industry. Too bad, because I really appreciated the company BEST BUY used to be. Went into this Best Buy, the salesmen Nathen Gardezi was finishing up with another customer and came to help me right away. Young clean cut, unlike most after the pandemic. Eager to help me, just like before the dark times of this fake pandemic. Very courteous, helpful and seemed to want to please me. Did not know all my questions, but when asked a question he did not know he told me that he did not know and got my answer. Far above this custom expectations, and that hard to do. I was shopping for Car Stereo yesterday. Evan an associate of this store helped me in finding the best stereo with a great bargain that meets all the functionality I required. We hit a roadblock of our order because there were some missing parts that were not available in Best Buy to successfully install the stereo in my truck. He found a way to work-around the issue, I thought that was a 5 star customer service. Evan made sure I have a confirmed installation appointment. He made great recommendation, that I end up buying a dash-cam which was not part of my shopping plan that day. I look forward to the installation of the car stereo and dash-cam. Was at this Best Buy location on 11/22/2022. Went into store with the intention to upgrade my cellphone at their site. Asked for help and everyone ignored us and even had a girl stand at the register and say nothing stead and walk away. After 45 minutes of waiting I went to the front and asked for help, girl said I can check if we have phones but we can't do anything 1 hour before we close. Witch they made me wait to tel me that.
