We've been shopping here for years and years, decades actually. Service is pretty good, the store's always clean. For being short-staffed, like every other industry, they do a great job of being helpful. The employees seem knowledgeable. Sometimes it's hard to get an appointment with the geek squad folks, but they do know what they're talking about, once you get there. If you enjoy wasting your time, money, and patience, Best Buy is your place. I ordered a fridge on Sept 23 for delivery and installation on Oct 2. Simple, right? Apparently not. On the morning of Oct 2, I get a voicemail telling me I need to "schedule delivery", for the delivery that was already scheduled. When I called, I was told they had no idea where my fridge even was, but the next available date was Oct 14. When I said that was unacceptable, the rep literally said "well I can't do anything else" and hung up on me. I went to the store the next day and the general manager could not have cared less, pawning me off on someone else. That person told me the fridge was "on the truck" to arrive the following day, but delivery was still magically stuck on the 14. Since I needed a fridge, I rented a truck myself to pick it up. I showed up the next day with the truck, NO fridge. Nobody knew where it was. So I wasted money and time for nothing. At that point I just went back to cancel the order. Enter Warren, the manager. His "help" was laughable. No apology, no accountability, just blank stares. He informed me my account had two holds on it but he didn't know why. Meanwhile, my credit card was already fully charged and the transaction was posted. Eventually he figured out that someone forgot to refund me for the delivery fee when they switched it to pickup, which apparently stopped my fridge from even moving forward. And then he casually mentioned there was also a fraud hold because, in their infinite wisdom, Best Buy thought I was trying to both have the fridge delivered and pick it up. The audacity. He promised to fix it "first thing tomorrow." Shocking update: he didn't. As I write this, I still don't have my refund. What I do have is a broken trust, wasted days without a fridge, and a wasted money for a truck rental that got me nowhere. From being hung up on, to managers who act like you're bothering them, to money being tied up because of their own screwups, Best Buy has proven they can't even manage the basics. No one apologized. No one took responsibility. BUY YOUR APPLIANCES SOMEWHERE ELSE. Best Buy is a black hole of incompetence. This wasn't bad luck. This is who they are for quite a few years now. read more

Bought a washer and dryer on 2/27/25 and was ready to pay $1,400 cash when the manager, Warren, talked me into getting a Best Buy credit card (through CitiBank) to get 10% credit back in rewards (that's $140). So he quickly qualified me for the card, and I paid it off immediately when I received my first statement. Now it's 5/16/25 and no reward of $140 has been received. I called 888-BEST-BUY, and no human answers after I am on hold. I called CitiBank - same thing - no one picks up while I am on hold OVER AN HOUR! I went to the store tonight to ask how I can get my $140 rewards, and Warren said he has no control over the rewards. While I'm standing there, he talks a guy out of using his gift card and convinces him to get a Best Buy credit card to get 10% back! WHAT A SCAM!!! The managers must get some kind of kickback for hawking Best Buy credit cards, and then they act like there's nothing they can do if you don't get your 10% rewards! The employees all had on masks. The staff were just doing their own thing. There was no interaction with customers unless the customer(s) asked for assistance. No one greeted customers as they entered the store either. This location is usually better than the Short Pump location. I must say that both locations look like they're going out of business. There's limited stock in the store. You'd be better off ordering online and skip the brick and mortar store. They do offer curbside pickup with designated parking spaces. read more

Took my Samsung fold 4 in for screen protector and he screwed up the The 1st 2. Has it taken back a 3rd time to get to write screen protector. I asked them while there to look at my my tablet not receiving text messages.. They refused Unless I have an appointment. How's your any customer there To wait on. Even 20 minutes later nobody else was standing at the counter to be waited on And he still refused to look at my tablet. I have a Best Buy service plan contract but this is how they treat you. Had a good straightforward visit to this Best Buy. I'm in the process of setting up a home theater in our basement family room, so I've been back and forth to Best Buy a ton over the last month. This was my first time using their drive up service and it was super fast! It was incredibly easy to navigate and communication was top notch. Their emails were clear and easy to follow. I waited a half hour for someone to help me select a laptop. Two gentlemen were ahead of me and they left to go somewhere else to buy a computer. Finally, Nate helped me. I paid for a tech to transfer the data from my old computer. That could only occur at the Best Buy out west broad. I drove out there today to my appointment and he was told it takes two or three days and I would have to leave the computer. I do not live in Richmond and this was a huge inconvenience. I would be cautious if you purchase anything at this store. They only allow 15 days for any returns or exchange. I was not aware of this, I thought it was 30 days but that is only for phones. I purchased a laptop and two weeks later came back to purchase a printer. I showed the salesperson the laptop I had bought and asked him what printer would be compatible with it. He showed me a printer and I purchased it. It was not compatible with my laptop. I returned to the store twice with my laptop and printer to talk to their geek squad about not being able to print. The manager of geek squad even had a difficult time getting it to print. I went to the store today (4/11/25), with the printer packed in the original packing materials, booklets, wires etc. I explained the problem to the manager. He would not accept the return stating a 15 day time limit for returns. The printer was purchased on 3/25/25. I had made two trips to the store after the purchase because the printer wouldn't work with my laptop. I told him this and that I had purchased the printer the store employee advised me to purchase. He would not accept the printer return as it was 17 days after purchase. I told him with this kind of treatment he would be losing a customer. He just looked at me. I asked if this was ok with him, he said yes. I was tried to be polite. I walked away and came back to the returns desk after he left. I picked up the box with the printer and left. Buyer beware, don't depend on the recommendations from the sales people there and don't believe that the manager there values your business as a customer. I made an opened box online purchase and did an instore pick up. Before accepting my order I asked for the return policy. The cashier told me I had 60 days to return. I returned the item approx 20-25 days later and was told I only had 15 days to return the item. I asked the representative I was told differently. The associate asked me who provided the information, and I described the associate and he and the other associate (standing directly beside the associate assisting me) said the female name I was speaking of and the associate immediately stated that that associate is new and been giving out incorrect information to customers. Long story short. The associate said I was only entitled to a store credit. I requested to speak with a manager (Jimmy Harris) because this situation was completely unfair to the customer. The manager refused to come to the front to speak with me but kept giving the associate info in the earpiece. I would NEVER EVER shop at this place again. The customer service is HORRIBLE. read more

The phone worked for about a week then stopped working, well within the 14 day period. It's been nearly 2 months now and both Samsung and Best Buy are pretending it's not their problem. Bought a Microsoft Surface laptop from Best Buy. It was only 39 days since day of purchase and the computer needs to be formatted. Geek Squad at this location wanted to charge $49, then changed the price ten minutes later to $100+. I asked if they would help out since my daughter only logged onto the laptop once and then this lock out happen. Needless to say, not only did the manager not want to help, he wasn't wearing his name tag, so I don't have his name, then he also told me I have to take the laptop back to the store I purchased it from. Funny, I though Best Buy was Best Buy no matter where you bought the electronic from. Note to self: I am done with Best Buy and sad to say not only did this location ruin it for me, but so did the Short Pump, VA location. We stopped in today because they had a really good deal on an Xbox. We had just paid off our balance and paid our annual fee 2 months ago so we figured we'd make another purchase. The people behind the desk were maybe new and not sure what they were doing, which I don't necessarily fault them for. They tried to tell us that the account was closed which isn't true because we can access all the information on our account and showed them that. We just moved to a different state, so we think they were entering in the incorrect address by changing the zip code and not the whole thing. We ended up just paying for it without financing because it was a decent deal. The reason for this review is because Jimmy, the general manager of this store was extremely rude and dismissive of our concerns and wouldn't provide us with any information that could have been helpful. When the person behind the counter asked for help, Jimmy looked at us, shrugged his shoulders, said "call the bank" and then walked away. I'm not sure how somebody like that got their job, but he definitely doesn't deserve it and for the sake of this stores customers and employees, I hope he doesn't hold that role for very long. read more

E asked if he could get a new X box today and a few games. We go to Best Buy to get it and a few games. He gets the Xbox and 2 new games. Gets home, opens everything up, then realizes the new Xbox doesn't have a drive and he can't use the games he just bought. The sales person comments on the Xbox he buys, says nothing about being able to NOT play the games. He calls Best Buy to see if he can return the games since he opened them. The lady on the other end said he could and it wouldn't be a problem. We drive back to Best Buy. He goes in to make the return, speaks with a Manager, and is told no, they won't return the games since he opened them. He told her he called and told her he spoke with and she said she can't return them. He comes out to the car, tells me what happened, and we head home. Before we got too far, I grew a little angry. Here's a kid who works for his money, called and asked before we made the trip back, and was then told NO. Sure he probably could have sold them, but the more I thought about it, the whole situation was just wrong. It's easier to tell a 16 year old NO than me. I went in and the store manager said we spoke with someone from corporate, they don't have a phone. I explained my frustration nicely and she gave us a store credit. We were losing hope bc we had stopped at a couple mobile retailers prior to our stop here but once we got here we were greeted by the most friendly staff. Aalyejah in particular was very understanding and thorough with explaining our purchase. So I brought my Lenovo laptop in to the Best Buy Geek Squad for repair. After waiting about 20 minutes I was informed that Geek Squad no longer takes walk ins and I needed to set an appointment. Drop offs are no longer allowed. My appointment was for more than an hour later. I returned and was assisted for less than three minutes while dropping of the laptop to be returned to the factory. What a colossal waste of time. There are too many other retail and repair places to go to. Don't waste your time here. Update: When I returned to pickup my laptop, I waited for 25 minutes without an employee acknowledging my existence. When I was finally waited on, it took less than two minutes to get my laptop and be on my way. Terrible customer service. Avoid this place. read more

Had the absolute pleasure of dealing with two employees at this BB location. Adonis quickly appeared to help me with a pick up of an item ordered online. He was extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. Within a very few minutes I had my item in hand and was good to go. I also needed help with a mobile phone issue and he directed me to the department I needed. I soon encountered Allie who in my opinion is a moblie phone wizard. Although she was unable to do what I needed done (absolutely NO fault of hers) she was an enormous help in telling me where to go and how to get it done. She was ever so polite and more than willing to take time to explain everything to me. The level of professionalism and courtesy these two showed me is at times, unfortunately, rare. Working retail is hard. Doing it with maturity and grace is even more difficult. Well done and thank you for an enjoyable shopping experience. read more

After careful review we decided to go with Best Buy to order a refrigerator for a business. We have medications that have to be refrigerated on top of the employees who bring lunch to and from the office. We ONLY chose this location because they ensured us several times that we could have it delivered in a week's time. We were ok with that.. however we are still waiting on that fridge that should've been here on 8/11... We haven't received any updates as to when it would be delivered or a new delivery date.. ON 30 May 2022, I purchased a Garmin 52 GPS from the Glen Allen, VA store for $99.99. They only had one (1) in stock but said the 1560 W. Kroger Center Parkway, Chesterfield, VA had one (1) in stock, as well. On 31 March 2022, a salesman at the Chesterfield store said that there was one in stock. I drove from New Kent Co. VA. (44 miles one way) to the store. I went to the GPS section of the store where I found the same GPS listed. but for a price of $129.99. When a salesman was finally able to help me, he could not find the GPS in the store or warehouse. I am very disappointed at not getting the merchandise that I drove 88 miles on 2022 gasoline prices for. I am disappointed in the slow service in the store. I am unhappy that I wasted about three hours of my time. read more

Avoid at all costs, paying more elsewhere is a much better deal. I bought a $3,500 refrigerator that was not developed on the scheduled day. Even after receiving multiple emails confirming they were on their way, even a notice that they would be here in 5 minutes. That was 26 hours ago. Don't call the 800bestbuy number, they are in Guatemala and the Philippines and can't communicate with the distribution location. Don't call the store because they no longer answer phone calls, they are all directed to the off shore call centers. I was told I had go back to the store to have an escalation form submitted. I did that last night, still no contact. Best of all is I am standing in the store that the sales manager said was the location my refrigerator was, and was being delivered from. And she said there is no way to talk to those that plan deliveries, even though they ate only a couple hundred dred feet away, they can only email them. By the way, did I mention when I bought the refrigerator I asked the sales woman if they matched Amazon, she told me no. Lo and behold, their website specifically states that they do price match Amazon. So I had to go through a whole additional adventure to get $300 back. I could go on but let the summary be, no communication exists to help a customer, no, concern for resolution, and I will never complain about doing business with the DMV, I have a new appreciation for them after this "Worst Buy" experience. He told me it is not department and sent me to someone else and he said he would send someone to help me. I show up the day of my appointment early just to be left waiting for 10-15 min standing outside of the garage to be told someone was supposed to call me because all the appointments that day were supposed to be rescheduled. Says that they tried to call me and didn't have the option to leave a voicemail (bullshit by the way i guess anyone else in the world is able to call me but them) so the guy who originally helped me was nice and tried to be helpful, he told me to reschedule through their website yet when I tried it said no available appointment for the next 3 months. And the one they could find closer i wouldn't be able to go. So a waste of $300, a waste of time, just don't waste your money and go here i promise there's somewhere better. read more

Maybe they need the profit to cover operating expenses...they can cut down on the mere height of the store and save in utilities...is this to save in utilities...? I want to share with you that during Christmas shopping, I met the most unprofessional person at Best Buy named Amber. This occurred at the Richmond Best Buy on Kroger. I ordered Curb side pickup because it stated it would be ready in an hour. After waiting an extra 15 minutes for curb side service, I went into the store and was told four times they were looking into my order. I asked for a manager and as I was exhausted after working a 12 hour shift at the hospital - may have raised my voice a little. But not much. I am a Director but due to short staffing- worked in patient care all day. Amber who stated she was a GM, came over and told me to stop yelling at her supervisor. I just looked at her incredulously. I explained my situation and rather than apologizing basically told me it was Xmas, they were busy and get over it. Then told me she was cancelling my order and I could leave the store. I told her I didn't give permission for my order to be cancelled and I wasn't leaving without the product after waiting that long. She told me she would call the police to escort me out. For what? I told her to go ahead. She got up in my personal space and told me not to touch her. ???? I said I just wanted my product. The other manager came over and said she would look into it which she never did. A nice young man finally came over and said I'm going to get it. I called the customer service line to report this Amber. The young man apologized for his managers behavior. As I was finishing my call, Amber came up to me and said " you got your order- now leave. I said I will as soon as I get off of the phone with your corporate office. She said I'm reporting you too. Who is she going to report me too? I replied-"it's a shame when your employees have to apologize for their manager. She replied "oh you mean the boy I'm getting ready to fire?" I will be calling to make sure he didn't get fired, but will never shop Best Buy again. read more

Great products at great prices. I like being able to pick up products I want without having to wait for them to be shipped from Amazon or other online services. Best Buy usually offers the best variety and latest products as well. I like that Best Buy matches Amazon prices and prefer to support My local Best Buy store over any online vendor as they're providing jobs right here in my community, which helps our local economy. read more
