I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at the amazing customer service I received. When you walk in, there is a table located at the front. The awesome employee at the table greeted me and asked how she could help. I wish I caught her name because she made it a 5-star visit. I informed her of the product I was interested in, she went to the back to get it, confirmed with me that it was the product I was interested in, and walked me to the check-out. They seemed to be short staffed since there were no other employees at the check out. I arrived at the right time to receive immediate assistance, however, a line quickly accumulated behind me. Overall I had a great experience here and would shop here again! Despite going back to the store a total of 5 times to get it fixed, the credit card charges remain and I can't get management to truly assist me. They messed up the return, the Best Buy Credit Card company confirms this, the receipts confirm it, and I have audio recordings of the managers admitting to their mistake and apologizing, and yet they don't fix it. Five stars for Best Buy? Yep. I can't remember the last time I shopped at, much less visited, a Best Buy. This was *the* store for tech and physical media in the late 90s into the early 2000s. I loved going to the stores in Greensboro and Winston-Salem. However, I don't think I've ordered online or shopped in-store at a Best Buy in several years. Part of me is kind of surprised the brick-and-mortar stores still exist and haven't gone the way of Circuit City. Good for them. I was in a pinch and needed a working keyboard and mouse for my new home office quick. The mouse in the new keyboard and mouse combo that my work had originally supplied me with turned out to be defective. I contacted our IT department and we chose this Best Buy based on its proximity to where I was at the time. They ordered me a Logitech MK320 wireless keyboard and mouse combo ($27.99 after price drop from $34.99) and it was ready for pickup in an hour or two. This was late on a Tuesday morning. My wife and I went out for lunch errands and stopped by this Best Buy to pick up the order. Due to COVID-19, most of the parking lot in front of the store was coned off. The general public was not allowed inside the store. Best Buy was doing curbside pick-up only. Parking spots directly in front of the store were marked and used for curbside pick-up. The store had canopy tents and tables set up outside the front doors for employees and walk-up customers. As soon as I pulled into one of the curbside pick-up spots and rolled down my window, a nice employee approached my car and asked for my name and what item I was picking up. He wore a mask and so did I. He quickly went to the store and returned with my item. That was it. Fast and easy. I didn't have to get out of my car, pull out my ID, show proof of purchase on my phone, or anything. The employee was polite and efficient. I wish I got his name so I could give him credit in this review. He had a ponytail and I think dirty blonde hair. This was my first visit to Best Buy in a long time. It was unexpected and impromptu. Went here to purchase a Magic Keyboard for my iPad Pro 11 inch M4. The sales associate seemed a bit "out of it" and retrieved the keyboard for us from the lock box system after looking at each box because they were not organized in the cabinet. Got home, opened the box, saw it wasn't compatible and guess what....sales person gave us the keyboard for M2. Really? Returned it at the store in Cary and had a much better experience. They seemed much more organized. But the point is, it was a huge waste of time. Such a level of incompetence and pure laziness. read more

We ordered a 65" TV for our bedroom and on the day that it was supposed to arrive, they called in the morning and asked if we ordered an open box TV and we said no, we ordered a brand new one, but they still delivered it and said if we didn't like it for whatever reason they will send over a new one and give us compensation. When we took the TV out and set it up, it was broken. There was a very noticeable shatter in the corner and it was literally unusable, it would barely even turn on. Since we expected a new TV on Monday, October 2nd and we received a broken one instead, we were hoping that the replacement could be sent to us faster, but it couldn't, which we understand. However, they wouldn't even give us compensation for the delay of receiving our product and the time it took us to set up everything just to pack it all up again. And even though it was an open box TV, I don't understand why they didn't at least check if the TV worked after it was returned instead of just sending it out. I've been here a few times and have had positive experiences every time. I recently stopped in to buy a new ROKU and find a connectivity solution for my in-laws. I know the basics for routers and figuring out what I need, but beyond that, it's a little over my head. While I was checking out the new ROKU devices, a sales rep came over to see if I needed any help. He told me about all the new features and made suggestions based on my needs. That alone was helpful and we're very happy with our new ROKU devices. Next, I told the guy about my in-laws' connectivity issues and he took me over to the router section to show me a few options. He was very knowledgable about the different options and went on to explain what he had done recently in his house. I ended up going with his solution which was a mesh network. We had tried several different options before, so I was a little worried it wouldn't work. He ensured me it was really easy to set up and I could always return it if it didn't work. Well, he was so right! It was super easy to set up and was a total game changer. My in-laws can now stream all the music they want and stream Netflix downstairs at the opposite side of the house with no issues. They're both so happy. I also had a recent online purchase with curbside pick up from this store. I was able to have my hubby's name as a pick up person, forwarded him the email and he had no problem picking up our new TV. We ended up not needing the TV (We were staying in a long-term rental and the pictures only showed an old box TV, but they ended up having a TV that worked with our ROKU), so I brought it back to the store. It was a few days after Christmas and I was surprised that the lines weren't crazy. There were only one person ahead of me. I was looking for my receipt in my email when the cashier called me up. I put the TV up on the counter and before I could even find my receipt, he was done! They didn't even need my receipt and they sent the funds back to my card! When did that become a thing!? Fantastic! I've been impressed with this location. Everyone there has been very helpful, knowledgable and friendly. If you live in the area, I'd recommend this Best Buy for you tech needs. read more

We have used curb side pickup at this Best Buy multiple times during the pandemic and have had good experiences. Our orders have been ready within hours of online submission, and times from check-in to delivery at curbside have been very short (5-10 mins during a very busy Black Friday morning). The only issue we had was with the curbside check-in system. Most recently, we received the email saying our order was ready for pickup and we drove to the store. We used the link in the email to check into the app, and went through several pages to answer questions (e.g. car description, parking location) but ultimately ended up with an error in the app that wouldn't allow us to completely check in. We refreshed the app and tried several times. Ultimately, we were able to check in by using the mobile site instead of the app. Unfortunately, the store does not provide a phone number to call unlike other stores such as Walmart and Target. We tried calling the store number from Google but were not able to get through at all, likely due to heavy pickup traffic at that particular time. Before COVID, we visited to store multiple times in person. There were always very few customers in the store at a time, which meant no wait times at checkout and quick access to help from store associates. read more

I ordered a PlayStation from this store. I proceeded to change my mind at 10pm and run back to the store at 10:15pm to return it. Keep in mind, this store closed at 10pm, but at the door was Santiago. Despite being 15 minutes PAST closing time, he was as kind as could be. He proceeded to help me for the next twenty minutes staying a total of 45 minutes after just to help me. Genuinely couldn't have been nicer. Give him a raise, employee of the year, whatever it takes, because a few days later I had to come again return it because there were logistic orders. I was stopped by a worker because I didn't have a receipt, but Santiago recognized me and came to my help. He helped me find a receipt through his technology, and he worked it out. He proceeded to make sure I got it to my car okay, and that everything was good on my end. I have genuinely never met a more effective, well mannered, helpful employee at a store. I will forever go to this Best Buy just because of him. I am completely serious. I'm writing to inform the business and others about me and my wife's recent experiences with a delivery of a washer by Best Buy Geek Squad in Durham NC. Background: we had scheduled a washer and dryer to be delivered to our new home on Tuesday, August 4th. On Monday, August 3rd, I received an email informing us that there was an issue with our order and directed us to call the corporate number. I called the corporate number, and they informed him that the washer and dryer delivery would be delayed. The washer was rescheduled for Thursday, August 6th and the dryer for Aug 28th. We received email confirmations of these rescheduled delivery dates as well. The following experience we are reporting occurred on Tuesday, August 4th: On August 4th, I received a call at 12:22pm by a Geek Squad deliverer. The employee told me that he has the washer on his truck and asked if he would like to have it delivered now instead of Thursday and that he could arrive in 15 minutes. The employee mentioned that he would like a tip for delivering it early, to which I said nothing. He asked if I was at home and I said no but that my wife was at the house. I made no mention or promises that she would give him a tip. Two employees arrived at the house around 15 minutes later. They installed the washer. The employee then asked for a tip and said that he went out of his way to deliver it early and he can get in trouble. He showed my wife his phone screen in the work app/system he uses how he technically can't complete the delivery order until Thursday. My wife said she did not have any cash on hand, and all she had was my checkbook, but that she was not going to sign him a check for a tip. The employee continued to be insistent about a tip and then called me in front of my wife at 1:01pm and started harassing me about a tip. During the phone call, my wife told the employee that if delivering today is a problem, then he can take back the washer and we can just keep our scheduled delivery for Thursday, August 6th. The employee reiterated that he might take the machine back and deliver it on Thursday when it was scheduled to arrive. I said if that's what he has to do, that's fine. Note: At around the time of the employee calling me, the second employee who helped carry in the washer left the house. This employee did not say anything to my wife regarding a tip and was not involved in the conversation, therefore I do not wish to report this employee for any inappropriate conduct. After the phone call, the employee continued being insistent about a tip with my wife and repeated that he could get in trouble for delivering today and that he expected a tip for going out of their way to deliver. My wife repeated that he can take the washer back to his truck and we can just have it delivered at our scheduled time this Thursday. He then asked her if she thought this was a joke. At this point, she was very uncomfortable and felt harassed about a tip needed him to leave. She raised her voice and told him to "get out of my house". She did use an expletive to get her point across. He immediately backed off and she told him to get out again, told him that he initiated the call to ask about delivering early, and this was unacceptable as he backed out and exited the front door. Both my wife and I found this employee's behavior to be inappropriate, unethical, and unacceptable. My wife felt uncomfortable and harassed in our own home. I hesitated about writing a complaint because I do not wish any ill will upon the employee/I do not want anyone to lose their jobs and also because the employee knows our home address. The next day following this experience, my wife and I visited the Best Buy Durham Southpoint store in person and received a refund for the dryer. When asked, I said the reason for a refund was that the washer did not fit in our space the way we wanted. While this is partly the case, we most likely would have still kept the washer if we had a pleasant delivery experience. The second experience we are reporting occurred on Friday, August 7th: I was at the house with our moving company who was unloading our items from our previous residence when the same employee that my wife previously encountered arrived to take back the washer (arrival at 12:10pm). I am confident it is the same employee due to recognizing his voice from the previous phone calls. Upon arriving, the employee said that he had a 15-minute window and if the movers' truck wasn't moved out of the way in the next 5 minutes, then "we're going to have a conversation". He was immediately abrasive and there was no initial greeting upon arrival. One of the movers then told the Geek Squad employee that they're moving the truck right now. The Geek Squad employee said thanks and returned to his truck. Two other Geek Squad employees came inside to carry out the washer and then they left. Both of them were pleasant and immediately removed the washer with no issues. read more

Mario was very friendly and super helpful. First came in to buy an XBox. I was apprehensive because I usually use PlayStation. Mario answered all my questions and knew a lot about the product. So I went ahead and bought it. I then came back in because my car wouldn't start in the parking lot, and Mario was very busy, but still wanted to help me find the Car Jump Battery Box for me. He wasn't able to leave the platform but he called on Brandon, his co worker, and Brandon said "So and So needs me really quick" but Mario said "He can wait. This young lady needs help quick please. Bring her to the Car Battery Jump Box located right over there in that case" and pointed where we need d to go. Mario knew they had them because he looked it up on the phone even though he was very busy and couldn't bring me there himself. Brandon kindly walked up to me and dropped what he was doing to bring me to get the box. We both couldn't find it at first and he did not give up looking for it. I would not even give this Best Buy location one star. The lack of respect and decency is clearly in the training plan for the employees who work here. I perused the refrigerator and washer/dryer section for almost 30 minutes before walking toward the door because not a single employee asked me if I needed help. I was the only person in that section of the store when I walked in. Several people (not Black) walked in and received white glove service and attention. Feeling highly uncomfortable and disrespected, I decided to leave. The "Supervisor" Vincent, greeted me as I was leaving. I proceeded to explain the situation and all he could offer me was a useless apology. He showed no interest in helping or correcting the situation. He watched me leave and was probably relieved. My last purchase was an electric razor which was priced slightly lower than at the Target nearby. I ended up cancelling my online order (for a new dryer) after waiting 2 weeks to be told it would never be delivered after paying $500+. The only person to help me with Sean, the manager at this store location. Anyways, Sean was amazing and incredibly helpful. He went out of his way to arrange his delivery guys to bring us a dryer and assemble that day. I had half way lost my mind going through this process so to know that someone was willing to help save a customer made SUCH a difference. Their install messed up our vehicle and it's documented! Had a service installed on auto. At home, realized other functions related to the install no longer worked. Contacted the store and A.J the tech said he did not know why the other function stopped working and said he could not help me after spending about 30 minutes looking at the vehicle. We had to take it to auto repair shop only to have them diagnose the problem was related to Best Buy install and the shop documented that on our paperwork. We now have an install that does not function and a repair shop bill for something Best Buy either installed improperly or at the least, a defective part was installed. We have spent a great deal of time, money and return visits to Best Buy. If BB works with us to remedy this situation, we will be glad to update this review. The BestBuy at Southpoint has some of the most incompetent people ever. I spent eight hours dealing with them yesterday. Yesterday, (12/28), I was supposed to have my surround system installed in my house. I took time off from 7am-1pm, and no one called or emailed to tell me that they were not coming. Once again, nothing is worse than the lack of communication. I called the BestBuy 1800-number and spoke to a rep in the Home Theater Department, and she assured me that someone would be here by 1pm. It turns out later, that I found out someone cancelled my installed apt in the system, and no one could tell me why. The customer service rep at the BestBuy 1800, the manager, and the supervisor, in the store, could not tell me what happened. I found this out as I drove to the store to find out what was going on; you could tell that this issue, didn't really concerned them. I was told by Vincent that he needed to call someone, only to find out that supposedly he could not reach anyone. I waited around and again; nothing was resolved. They said that the manager who made the schedule, was out sick with Covid, but they were escalating the ticket. It is now 12/29 and 12:43pm, and I still have not heard from anyone. As I type this review, it gets even better. Since my installed was cancelled, I was told to not return the wire that I would possibly need. When the site survey was done at my house to determine where the speakers should go before the installed, they did not even close out the site survey from when they came. This is a prime example that people do not do their jobs. In addition, I decided to purchase my niece and nephew some ear pods. Since my installed appt was cancelled, I decided to return the wire and get that money back. I told the supervisor Vince that I wanted my refund to be placed on a BestBuy gift card and I said this twice. He gets help from another supervisor, who disregarded and sent the money back to my card. She created the biggest mess and what concerns me, is if you do not use active listening skills, how can you be a leader and lead someone else. This mess caused me to stay in BestBuy another 3 hours before my issue was resolved. Since Vincent could not fixed the problem, I told him to forget it after 3 hours. Overall, I wasted a whole day with the most incompetent stupid people I ever met. Now, all you hear, is that I apologized. Don't apologized to me for being incompetent and not being able to do your job property. Now the store once me to wait another 2 weeks when they messed up the order. I don't know much about car stereos, so I figured people here would and they could recommended the correct stereo and speakers, in stall it and I'd be done. I kept getting the wrong advice about a purchase, someone would disagree and I'd have to return what had just been recommended. Then another person would tell me that in fact that too was the wrong component. No one knows what they are doing. Every purchase-return takes an infuriating amount of time.
