If they are **too busy** you will be waiting 30-60 minutes before they feel like bringing out your item to you. (Target is within 2 minutes). Went in to buy 2 new Samsung phones. Terrible service. Charged $40 to just transfer data from old phone to new phone, then failed to tell us we needed Verizon informed also (to install SIM card), a second trip. We are old folks, just wanted the simple, basic phone, but no one understood that. No sales pitch or help what-so-ever. Would charge us an additional $45 each if we decided to return the phones. "You were never in line" Yet he knew I was waiting, didn't inform me and as i picked up my purchase the father and son stepped into the hidden line in front of me... so now i am in the back of the line... Zack just watched...The father and son started taking selfies of the pile of cash the son was making his purchase with... not even trying to be quick with their purchase... after cutting in front of me... and I had enough... I walked up to Zack and put the Cursed software on the counter in front of him... Thank you... I will never Purchase here again... To Zack's credit he had a great comeback... "We are okay with that"...But ...this clever response was not only unprofessional but also indicative of a broader issue of inadequate and Rude customer service. Now if this was the extent of the incompetence I experienced at Best Buys, that would be one thing... but this was just in the last few weeks... Try and call customer service and you get someone offshore barely speaking english... Try and request a supervisor or district manager... I would give zero if possible. I purchased a washer dryer combo a week ago and set up for delivery on Saturday. That was their offer and so I made arrangements to receive the delivery on Saturday. They told me to be sure and answer the delivery confirmation call on Friday - very important. So, after I waited until nearly 4pm on Friday for the call that never came, I called them. I was informed that they weren't coming because they didn't have the item and they would need to reschedule. NOBODY EVER CONTACTED ME ALL WEEK! They certainly took my money fast enough though. . When I questioned this, they said they would "happily cancel my order". I asked for a call back from customer service, but they've never called. it's obvious they don't care. Purchased a GE electric cooktop, product was back ordered and delivered over a month later. Within the first week the sensor light for the heating element was not working. This is also a safety issue due to the warning light for heat not functioning for burners. Best Buy would not help me and immediately gave me the run around and sent me to GE. We were having a dry spell in Carlsbad and my nose and allergies were bugging me. Needed a humidifier pronto. This Best Buy is just minutes from my house so trucked on over and found a $99 humidifier made in Korea. At least it wasn't made in China. Okay, so it's cute and compact and seems like it may work okay, but the design is bogus!! I followed the instructions and filled it with water, twisted the cap, put on the top cap and then tried to lift it to carry it. Nope. The top part came off. The handle is only to carry the top tank to the faucet to fill it with water. Then, after you fiddle with it and get it to sit on the base, you have to lift it up underneath with both arms and carry it to its destination. Put it down on the expensive rug in the bedroom and the whole thing immediately tipped over, the top cap came off, the water spilled copiously all over my walnut floor and expensive rug. And I mean there was a pool of water!! Rrrrrrrr...arrrgh.... Cleaned it up and put it back and some cool air seems to be coming out of it, so it probably works. But I would never buy another one. Unless you want to give your cell phone number to the best Buy app online you cannot schedule an appointment. I have just called six (6) times and tried to reach anyone in any of their departments. I have been unable to speak to anyone. They have finished an Apple referred repair. I have to have an appt to pick it up from Geek Squad. I cannot make an appt. I cannot call the store. So I am about to drive over to try to schedule an appt. This is the worst. When I was there dropping off the repair I saw people stand in line for a long time only to be told they could not be helped and they left. Apple! Please open back up. Best Buy is not working as a partner for you. Add-on: I went to the store. An appt is NOT necessary as I was told. The phone lines DO NOT WORK as the calls a re routed to corporate for people working from home and this system does not and has not been working. they know this. Corporate has been complained to by the store but nothing is done so no one can call the store. So I picked up the repair. Then I went to see the televisions as I am looking to choose two or three very large high end TVs. No one bothered me, which is to say no one spoke a word... You can't tell the prices nor the models for most of the TVs. You can't even read the fine print on the few little spec cards under some of the TVs. No customer service and no means to escalate. All attempts for help with missing/late order are dead ends. There is no means to get information, assistance, and although they say they will have supervision call you back - they don't. After a third delivery appointment for the same late appliance, they sent me an email asking me to reschedule for a fourth date for items already 3 months past original delivery commitment. The email provided a phone number to call to reschedule but it is not a valid phone number. Do not buy anything that you can not carry out of the store yourself. Same for Pacific Sales! This Best Buy is just sad. The shelves are empty. The store barely has any customers around which then means there are no employees around. The employees only know as much as the next person about the products they have or can sell. I miss the days when Best Buy actually had product specialist and the people in the departments actually knew their products. Now it's just John Doe trying to sell you some thingy that they just looked at the card and read the specs to you. However, the employees are all very nice and as helpful as they can be. This store just needs a major face lift and revitalization. Or just close it down. It's just sad. I prefer to go to San Marcos but that parking lot over there is just "In N Out," traffic crazy. I would never recommend Best Buy to anybody I know.. On october 31 2023 . I purchased a LG throwback laser projector. That cost me roughly 6k. The package had direct orders for it's to be signed for by somebody at the residence . If the driver didn't have somebody to sign for it. He or she should have taken the item back to their warehouse. The driver left it on my front porch step, and someone helped themselves to my items. I called Best Buy. They told me that the item was signed for. Therefore, BestBuy is not responsible for the item. That was on November 13 2023. I found out that UPS filed a claim against themselves. UPS sent BestBuy a claim form for BestBuy to fill out the details and return to Ups so they can cover the cost of the item. In UPS claim detail, it states that UPS did not have proof of delivery. So that's saying BestBuy lied to me the first time I requested a refund and the denied based on the fact that UPS said the item was signed for . Now UPS is saying it wasn't signed for. I was hoping to buy some earbuds here if they could price match Amazon that had them for much cheaper ($30 VS $48 here). They told me it had to shipped AND sold by Amazon. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon to get a screen protector with my sister and had an amazing time. I was promptly greeted by Thomas and he perfectly assisted me in finding what I was looking for. The cashier called multiple times to the back room but no one picked up so she had to physically go back there herself to find out where the item was. She returned saying someone was looking for it. We have been a long time customer of Best Buy Encinitas, purchasing multiple TVs and various electronics equipment over the past 15 years. We have been reluctant to buy from Amazon as wanted to give our business to the local businesses and workers. However, we now are forced to buy from Amazon as they understand service and the difficult times everyone is going through now. We purchased a small $50 item on December 30,2020. The item didn't live up to the 16 year old sales Persons description of the quality, so we decided to return it. However, our family ended up being quarantined for 14 days as one family member was tested positive. At the end of our quarantine period we tried returning our item. The 18 year old manager refused to take it back as we exceeded the return window of 15 days. We explained our quarantine situation, but still refused. I would now recommend purchasing all your electronics from Amazon as they understand the hardships placed on customers and how long term policy may need to be adjusted during these unprecedented times. Best Buy is usually my go to store for electronics but this particular store has let me down on more than one occasion...reason being: CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in there today to purchase a GoPro Hero and walked out in disgust. First issue is that you have a bunch of guys running around trying to sell you stuff you don't want or need...phones, DirecTV, etc. When I finally get to the GoPro station the attendant tells me that I can't see the camera. I'm like, "I can't see the camera??" Obviously confused, the best thing I could do is see it through a clear box. Then this other customer comes into the picture asking the sales clerk all sorts of questions and eventually asks her to get him one. It seems to me at the very least she could of checked with me to see if she had answered my questions before running off to get the next guy a camera. It's a simple courtesy that would go a long ways. Best Buy needs to train its staff appropriately because I have plenty of other options, which in this case, I went and ordered one on Amazon. read more

Beware using this store for any kind of installation (or, really anything involving Geek Squad). We had Geek Squad install a TV mount, soundbar mount, and an "in wall" power setup. The issues were numerous: 1) The crew that showed up seemed a lot more interested in getting off work to smoke weed than in actually doing a quality job. That should have been clue #1 to closely inspect their work. 2) They were supposed to "patch" a wall, which they did a terrible job of and then concealed it by pushing furniture in front of it and declaring it done. 3) They bent the mounting bracket on my soundbar when attaching it to the mount they installed. Of course, because Geek Squad concealed this damage, we didn't discover it until several months later when we upgraded our TV and moved the furniture (exposing the shoddy patch job) and removed the soundbar from its mount (exposing the damage to it caused by Geek Squad's shoddy install). Their response is that since it took us more than 90 days to discover the damage they concealed, it's not their problem. Stay far, far away. read more
