Teva just finished removing an old GE Monogram double oven (likely 30 year old) and installed a new Cafe double oven in its place. I'm so glad I hired him to do the job rather than just roll the dice and get whatever installer Lowes would have assigned the job to. The cabinet opening had to be modified vertically to make the new oven fit and Teva was able to perform this on the fly with just a minimal additional cost. The modified opening was cut perfectly to size and was done in a way that gave a clean look and end result. This was a great way to get to know his capabilities, I'll make sure for future appliances to always hire him. He cleaned up and spent a little extra time giving some advice on other appliances I'm looking to change in the future. read more

We purchased a built-in electric oven that we planned to install ourselves. Of course we ran into problems with both the gas line for the cook top being in the way, and the oven being just a hair too tall to fit under the bull nose of the counter top. I ordered a downdraft to replace my existing one from a big box store. Unfortunately, after two tries by the "installers" contracted by the big box store, my downdraft unit was in pieces spread out on my garage floor and the pseudo-installers said they couldn't do it [mainly they couldn't read the instructions and figure out how to reconfigure the downdraft so that the motor and vent went on opposite sides of the unit.] My husband even tried to explain it to them in Spanish, but they got impatient and went to call their boss. Downdrafts come in a way that allows customization in every direction, but these big box store contracted guys were so confused, they insisted the front was the back and removed panels the wrong direction. After we pointed this out to them, the guy ran out so fast, he left his tools which we let him come back later to pick it up. We then labeled everything, counted all the screws and nuts, put them in plastic baggies, and verified all the parts were still accounted for. Now we were stuck with looking for a more experienced appliance installer. Coming to Yelp, we read the reviews for Teva and looked at the types of installations he did, and that convinced us he knew what he was doing. He asked questions and downloaded the installation manual ahead of time. He also squeezed us in on a Sunday since we told him this was a 4 month ordeal to get the downdraft [supply constraints, then first installer appeared without the blower unit, etc.]. He showed up with his son and the two of them attached a plug to the bare wires of the unit [which was another area the big box installers were unsure about]. I don't know why Fisher-Paykel decided NOT to include a three prong plug but wanted you to wire it directly to a circuit. In any case, the installation went well and Teva pointed out a few improvements we could make to the cabinet space [was a tight squeeze]. Teva's price was higher than the big box store quote, but from now on, I'll never order installation to go along with the drop-shipped appliance, because I looked up the companies that were sent by the big box store and they had horrible reviews. One other note. The guys contracted by the big box store wore T-shirts that had different name than the reverse lookup of their telephone number showed. Also, different from the name their answering service said. If you look up those real names, they were low reviewed businesses. I remembered the voice and name of the lady who made the appointment, but she used a different business name than what the big box store gave when I called her back. The name she gave was not listed in any business directory so you couldn't know their low reviews unless you did the reverse lookup of the telephone number. I highly recommend Advanced Appliance Installation and believe you will save yourself a lot of headaches if you give them a call. Teva also offered a consult before buying a unit to make sure it will fit and be installable in your space. My story had a happy ending, but I learned some lessons. I had a dishwasher hose break and had to have it replaced and re-installed. I called Advanced to re-install because of their strong Yelp reviews. I am extremely hard to please and not only where my expectations met, they were far exceeded! Teva to was kind enough to replace the hose. He then pointed out that the previous installers didn't have the proper supports in place to line up my dishwasher perfectly with the cabinets/counter. He had a couple "tricks" to make it line up perfectly. Once he installed it I noticed a huge difference! For the first time ever it lined up perfectly with the cabinets and counter! I have had a ton of appliances installed at different properties over the years and there is no one else I would call now but Teva! I purchased a stove and microwave from Best Buy. We remodeled our kitchen this spring and he reinstalled our double oven and fridge; brand new range hood and cooktop; plus at no charge fixed the plumber's wonky installation of our dishwasher after he noticed how bad it looked, though perfect after he made adjustments. Even had to retro-fit a few things in order to get the range hood centered just right, contending with incorrectly drilled holes in stone backsplash for power and an uneven wall and ceiling.
