Our 10 year old water heater failed this past Saturday night. I sent Dave a text on Sunday (his day off) and he promptly provided the needed instructions that stopped the substantial leaking. He came to our house the first thing on Monday morning and removed the old water heater, purchased a new water heater and dropped it off. He was back the early the next day and installed the new unit. We've been using Dave's services for the past 20 years. Over that time he has repaired an old dryer (on multiple occasions), installed faucets for all of our sinks, installed a kitchen sink, installed lighting fixtures, and an oven hood, among other services and repairs. He is a consummate professional. His recommendations, assessments and estimates are dead-on and the quality of his work is top notch. And, most importantly, his rates are very, very reasonable. A few months ago our dryer stopped getting hot. David came by and made the repair. He was friendly, highly skilled, and absolutely professional. No upselling or any shenanigans. Just straight forward, honest, local. David made a thorough inspection. Explained in as much detail as I wanted and then made the repair quickly and efficiently. Today, David came to fix the ice-maker that stopped working in our freezer. Just as before, he explained everything, replaced the faulty unit, cleaned everything up, and went on with his day. DJ is a legend. He walked me through the problems I was having with my washer to see if I could fix it myself. Once we diagnosed the problem he came out the next day and fixed what was broken. He actually used a part in the washer that wasn't being used so I didn't get charged for a 'new part' that we didn't need. I was out of town the day he fixed it but got a VM that said "All fixed, invoice on the washer, send a check, thanks for the service". I never saw the illusive DJ......a legend. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars for John, not only is he extemy honest and the best at what he does, but he's cool too! Gave him a call about a broken dryer and he was at our place within 15 minutes (we live nearby the office so don't expect him to be THAT quick). Within 5 minutes the dryer was fixed and he even gave us a discount since he was able to fix it so quickly. David Chillak is honest, prompt, and a man of his word! I found him here on Yelp. I had torn my front load washer apart and called him. He came when he said he would. He looked at my opened up washer and then took out a filter. Sure enough, there was a clog. We cleared it, and washer was as good as new. He refused to charge me since he said I did most of the work (washer still plugging away...). Six months later my mother's washer stops working. He again showed up on time and fixed the washer. He stated that the part that was broken had previously been replaced. Sure enough, we had a receipt in the file. Horrible experience. David, the owner couldn't come out same day to fix my dryer. He made me wait a day and then he didn't show up. I called him to see why he didn't show and he seemed to have completely forgotten. He only lives a mile from me but it took him another hour to get here. On the phone he quoted me a low price of $110 and a high price of $150. When he got here- before even looking at anything he told me it would be $250. He got very angry with me when I called him on the price change and said it was because my dryer was a newer model (its 10 years old). I did not have him do the work. My contractor was luckily at my home and heard the whole thing and told me that he was very happy I had decided not to use him. Stay away from this guy. I was very upset after he left as he was so angry and belligerent. I am happy I have security cameras everywhere! read more

If you need an appliance serviced or fixed, this is the company to call. Dave has repaired appliances at several of my rental properties for many years. He just came to my residence today to look at my dishwasher which has not been running through the cycles properly. After running several of the cycles, he suspected that the control board was problematic. Instead of replacing the board right away, he suggested that I try unplugging the unit for a day and then plugging it in again to see if it reboots the board. He did not charge me anything for the visit. Amazing! If the board is faulty, he told me that he could put a refurbished board in so that the repair would be cost effective. The dryer made a loud BANG when I turned it on one day, then continued to bleat out a continuous whine. It was unusable. After calling Whirlpool service and getting an outrageous estimate just to diagnose the issue, I called Dave. He came by the same day, quickly diagnosed the cracked blower fan, and even found the loose screw that probably caused the crack. Dave gave me the option of repairing or replacing the fan, and I asked him to try the repair first. He repaired it with a combination of gluey products, and the dryer has been working perfectly ever since. This is the worst service provider company. They do not have people to technician to come for appointment. They will call you to schedule the service, they will call you day before schedule appointment to confirm the appointment; looks very professional. BUT...on the day of service they will call you to say they can't come and will call you back with another schedule. This happened twice with me in one week. I stayed home to get the service done but NO SHOW. It is a big BOGUS COMPANY who does even have resources to meet their commitment. read more
