Bought online for in store pickup on 2/14. Fast and easy-peasy. Wandered around the store for a while after, fairly sparse selection in certain items (unfortunately that's likely due to a much larger systemic issue related to homelessness/theft/drug use in cities). Got a solid deal on a laptop during Presidents' Day weekend sales but I think, in general, you're paying top prices at Best Buy chains. They tried to deliver to a business on the weekend and of course it was returned back to the facility where they proceeded to just refund my card and did not hold the merchandise. Went in to upgrade a phone with AT&T. Dylan and Tyler were super helpful. They waited and worked with me because I didn't have all the necessary information. They were both friendly and even spent time talking to my 4 year old son. My son noticed some lego Pokémon balls and asked if he could see them, apparently they belonged to Tyler and he saw how much my son was enjoying it, so he said my son could keep it. It's nice to know that Best Buy is always there if you need something in a pinch. Anything electronic the chances are that they have there. Also, actually many of the people there know what they are talking about. Last time I went there they have had hand sanitizers which I thought was pretty awesome. On top of that, they will match Amazon prices if you show them the add. Half the time I forgot that though. Their parking lot is huge, so finding a space is never a problem. read more

This review is based strictly on my "curbside pickup" experience. This honestly could not have gone any better if I'd called ahead and told the pick-up staff that I'd tip whoever could get me my order the fastest $1,000. I was worried that there would be a long wait based on all of the disclaimers on their web page, as well as a previous experience at a different location that took almost 40 minutes to complete my pickup. There were clearly-marked dedicated "curbside pickup" parking spaces right at the front of the store. I pulled in, and didn't even have to to the mobile check-in, an employee was outside asking me if I had an order to pick up as soon as I arrived. I showed her my "ready for pickup" e-mail, she said she'd grab my order, and literally had it to me in about thirty seconds. She was extremely friendly, cheerful, and helpful, and I've never had a more perfect curbside pickup experience. This location doesn't seem to be as busy as most of the others, which probably helps, but even considering this, the service I received was completely over the top. I'm VERY impressed. I have had good and bad experiences at this Gresham Best Buy. I used to shop here quite a bit for electronics but have since moved away towards Amazon and other retailers. The prices here for most of the items are expensive so I would caution you to shop around before buying anything. The display is good for cameras and small electronics that you can play with before making a purchase. It isn't great though that the phones they have on display do not actually work. If you are shopping for a mobile phone it would be good to have working phones in your mobile department. They do have a decent selection of movies and music here. The video games selection is also good. The Gamers Rewards is a good buy if you buy more than a few video games a year. It gives you 20% off of the video game purchases for about $20 per year. They have a great selection of TVs. The customer service is mediocre at best. A few months back when I upgraded my phone the REP misinformed me about how long I would have to pay for my At&t installment plan. I left them a bad survey and the manager called me back. The manger basically called to apologize and tell me that is how it is. I felt like it was a waste of my time, why call somebody just to tell them too bad you were misinformed. I already knew this when I checked my contract. The markup on HDMI and other cables is pretty high. You'd be hard pressed to find anything under $20 for a cable. I can easily find the same cables on Amazon or other sites for under $5. I now only shop here if I really need something right away and cannot wait for it to be shipped to me. I get the distinct feeling that Best Buy is just too big of a store. Why are they still selling DVD's? Why do they have coffee makers and books? It just seems a little ridiculous. The end result of having so much stuff is that no one really knows anything about the products or they keep having to get different sales associates because that's not their department. The good things: They carry a lot of cameras and video equipment.....and you can try them all out. They carry Apple products now so you can do a side by side comparison of tablets and laptops. And boy oh boy they have a lot of tablet products to try out. Love that they carry a lot of covers for laptops, phones and iPads. Unfortunately I'm guilty of trying out all the goods and then shopping online for the better deal. (and usually you find a better deal online) read more

So I came here to buy a storage. I looked at geek squad and noticed they were busy. I just walked away because I don't like being around people in a line. So I make my way to the computer section and a older brown haired gentleman from geek squad asked me if I needed anything and he showed me what I needed. On the spot and lots of explanation so I understood completely. I wanted to pick up a gift and I stood in the front line checkout with a growing social anxiety, then I see this hot little blonde come ring me up. Willie Nelson had a stroke in my living-room. Well, actually, it was my music server. Willie was singing "Milk Cow Blues" when suddenly he was stuttering and stammering, and then he just died. I put on my Deerstalker and did a little sleuthing. The external hard drive did it. I read a bunch of hard drive reviews. People who review hard drives are the same people who can't decide to vote Republican of Democrat. One hundred eighty reviews : 90 five star and 90 one star. An average rating of 3. That's helpful! I went to Best Buy because it's close to the taco place and I was hungry. It's a warehouse disguised as a store. Best Buy sells "consumer electronics" - cheap disposable products sporting expensive packaging. I walked for several miles to the rear of the place arriving at "Computer Accessories" One side of the entire aisle was dedicated to hard drives. I'd wanted a Firewire enclosure so I could use internal hard drives which are cheaper than external drives. They didn't have any - not a single one. They had Seagate "GoFlex" drives and Western Digital "My Book", drives. They had a lot of them in various sizes and colors. They had a smattering of other brands on the lower shelves - mostly cheap sub terabyte drives. All of the other drive manufacturers were not represented. Went in to this Best Buy to buy a motherboard and solid state drive for a computer build I am doing. Walked in and saw that they had what I wanted in stock so I started looking around for a CSR. Seemed like all of them were helping other customers so I decided to wait at the register line in the computer section. There were two employees already ringing up people so I stood behind them. I must have been standing there for like 8-10 minutes while the people were asking questions about warranties or the sales people were trying to sell additional things. Meanwhile the employees who were helping other people arrived with the stuff those guys wanted to buy. So one of the employees finally finishes at the register and one of the other employees scoots in to ring up his stuff. The employee who just got off the register walks to talk to this other female employee who was waiting to use the other register. So not only was I waiting before this group of people who was brought over but I had been standing there long enough that someone's lightbulb should have clicked that I needed help. So after looking at the guy who just walked away to go talk to this female employee I said screw it and started walking away. I could tell the female employee might have told the guy and he came over asking if I needed help when I was telling the wifey it was time to go and screw this place. I think it was video games and movies a couple of years ago, now the video game section is a confusing wreck. it's really hit and miss, like a poorly stocked Game stop. Pro tip for any Senior citizens, you can still buy CD's there, like actual cds for like 18 dollars like it's 1998! Crazy! I tried to buy a tv there recently. It went like this "Hey, Do you have any 4k tv's that do passive 3D?" Best buy guy "3D is a fad, we have 4k tv's now " Me, " Yes, I would like a 4k passive 3D tv so that I can watch my 3d movies and play my 3D games" Best buy guy "3D is a gimmick, and what is passive 3D? 4K tv's are the thing now". I found a really nice 4k passive 3d tv the same day at a different store. But I was very surprised at how little the TV salesmen at best buy actually new about tvs. One of them said I should get 4K if I'm using a next gen game console. I explained that Xbox one and PS4 don't do 4k, they are only putting out 1080. The salesmen looked confused. The moral of the story is, salesman at best buy are pretty much worthless from my experience. But they will price match amazon, so if you can't wait for prime, check to see if they have your item in stock and pick it up at the amazon price. read more
