Our TV died after 2 years. Luckily we had a warranty and they agreed to replace it. At noon they said it would take about 4 hours to process. We thought "great then we can get a new one today". Except they didn't tell us that the replace team closes at 3:30! On a hunch I called at 3:20 and was on hold until they told me to call neck tomorrow during their normal business hours 6am to 3:30. This after making me wait 2 days for a tech to look at the tv and tell me the screen did not work. I had figured that out when everything was black. read more

Ordered a tv for memorial day... had the delivery set up for a couple days later... delivery window changed 4x without notice(I only know bc I was constantly checking info online so basically it ranged from 12-8pm) , tv was finally delivered and the box was slightly damaged... didn't really worry about it too much but when I opened the tv and set everything up, I took off the protective coverings and the screen had been shattered. I called the 800 number and was told I had to go into the store to set up delivery of a new tv and removal of the old one....I tried calling the best buy near me and after 20 minutes on hold I hung up and drove about a half hour to the closest best buy only to be told they couldn't help me and to come back tomorrow bc the computer needs to update my order status...I don't think I'll be purchasing from best buy again. This has been a terrible experience and a huge waste of time. To be fair, all the staff were very friendly and I have no complaints with that, but the situation as a whole is ridiculous. *update I went in today to get this fixed and they basically told me that they had to make sure I wasn't lying bc ppl break things on purpose or they break screens with their thumbs. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL **** (even after purchasing the extra warranty they give me this crap) . They told me I have to wait until next Tuesday to get another delivery window and that if I was able to physically bring in the tv today they could replace it... except at the last minute they said 'wait, let me make sure we have it in stock'....so of course they didn't... annd then they told me if I brought my tv in today I would have need to buy something else. ... which would probably cost more money bc I bought my tv on sale. Searching for last minute gifts for my son, I wanted to get him a pair of Bose headphones. I saw some that were that were locked in behind glass listed at $79. The associate, well call him Dan, took them to the counter to check out. It rang out as $99. We walked back to the place they were and he said he'd give them to me at the $79 price. He suddenly disappeared as I waited at the counter for him to return. Five minutes go by and I see him at the front of the store taking to the security guy then proceed you walk into an office of some kind, twice. He comes back then explains that soneone had placed them in the wrong place on the shelf. My thinking, it's behind locked glass, a Best Buy associate must have done it. He says the correct ones are in stock but are in the back. He disappears again and gets another pair of headphones listed at $79. What's the difference between the two, I don't know. But since I was not feeling good I didn't want to argue about it. But my coughing escalated during check out. Going to make it a point not to purchase anything else from Best Buy. Always like to go in and look at the new stuff, shop around for something i'm missing like old movies in DVD format, or some sales. But this place is just too expensive to pay full price for anything, this is the halfway mark to actually buying something somewhere; this is where you go to look at it and decide whether it's worth the price online or not. Staff usually get me to the area the product I want is in, and I usually don't need to ask anyways. Line is quick. But what really pisses me off? Pre-ordered a special edition game AGES before it was released, and when I came to pick it up they were out. OUT!? OUT of the item that I PRE-ORDERED??? What the hell is the point of a pre-order if you don't have the damn thing in stock when I come pick it up? I have been doing pre-orders for YEARS and a pre-order has always been a guarantee that my item will BE THERE when I come pick it up. What the hell are you doing selling pre-orders and then running out? The most ridiculous thing I've ever known, and their excuses were pathetic. Then they offered me gift cards to compensate for the difference in amount between the regular game and the special edition. I say fine, just give me the damn card. This place is horrible. I bought a HP laptop. Paid $529.99. 4 weeks and 2 days later, the back light went out. After the geek squad ran test for almost an hour just to confirm it was indeed the back light, a manufacturer defect! I spoke with Adam a "supervisor" informed me that I needed to send it to HP. I then called HP, after spending almost 3 hours on the phone with them they informed me that I would have to pay for return shipping!!! After reading all these horrible reviews I had to share my positive experience. I've purchased several items included a laptop at this Beat Buy since I lived in the area for a few years. On this day I walked into Best Buy back in October looking to buy a new smart TV. Originally came in looking for a Vizio or Samsung at best as these are the brands I've purchased before and am comfortable with. The salesman was very helpful in explaining the different features & strong points of each brand. He mentioned that they had a top of the line Sony on sale for around my spending price ($250 more) the Sony X900 Bravia 65" smart tv. I was hesitant due to my pockets being a bit tight but ultimately decided to make the purchase when the employee mentioned that as long as I purchased their premium geek squad protection the TVs would be covered against any and everything! Fast forward to last Thursday my niece was over and leaned up against the tv with a bottle and cracked the display. Safe to say I was devastated, the television was only a month a half old! Called Best Buy stayed on hold for literally 2 hours while they transferred me back and forth from Geek Squad to Customer Service all for one rep to tell me my tv wasn't covered for any accidental damage contrary to what the salesman told me in person. Unsatisfied I called back in an attempt to contact corporate but they don't even have a direct number (I know because again I was put on hold and told I was being transferred to corporate only to be transferred to ANOTHER GEEK SQUAD REP! Im clearly frustrated at this point and the next rep can for sure tell. I explain my situation for the millionth time and they advise me my television should be covered for any and everything including accidental damage?! This rep set me up an appointment for Geek Squad to come check it out but my better sense told me this guy was misinformed like the prior employee and I couldn't afford to wait the two weeks for the Geek Squad reps to come tell me my TV wasn't covered for accidental damage. I was almost ready to give up when I decided to just haul the TV to the Best Buy I got it from. I walk in with no expectations or idea of what was going to happen. I explain my situation to two or three employees who escalate my complaint to management. The manager Bob seemed to be the first person at Best Buy to genuinely care about my situation. He told me there wasn't much he could do but he would talk to his supervisor about my situation. I waited for about 20 mins and Bob comes back out and tells me this one time they would make an exception and replace the TV for me!! I couldn't believe it.. after spending the majority of my day on hold and talking with multiple reps from Best Buy and Sony who told me I was pretty much SOL, Bob made it right for me! For example, I bought a tv from them and I was having problems with the remote. They told me to bring it in and they would look at it. They fixed it right there and it's been working for years. I've been in this store a handful of times and have had a great experience here. So far each time I've had a faster easier time getting an employee to assist with questions and purchases every time. Also last month the store manager (I believe his name was Todd if memory serves correctly) assisted me with a purchase that possibly could have a special circumstance for return. He authorized my non standard refund type request when it Happened. I felt bad it actually had to happen but was grateful he honored his word and made it easy for me. Last week I went back and repurchased a very similar item (which this time there will be no returns) and the employees who helped me were great with answering all my questions and getting me what I needed and checked out. Later I had an issue with a Microsoft office code which Microsoft itself was horrid about even attempting to help but when I called Best Buy they got me transferred over to geek squad tech support and I was assured that everything would be fine. Went in looking today for headphones that are on sale only t find that all they have in stock are bose and skull candy. The guy I talked to said that Christmas wiped them out of their headphones and they haven't gotten any back in since. A holiday that happened 2 weeks ago depleted their stock so much that now they can't even have sale items in stock. To make it worse I called up other stores that are about a 30 minute drive away looking for the headphones to be told that yes they do have 1 or 2 but no they will not hold it for me because it's corporate policy not to hold items for customers. Disgraceful! I just purchased my headphones on amazon, saved myself 10 dollars off the Best Buy sale price and they are guaranteed to be here on Monday (4 days from now). Thanks Best Buy. Had to take it back (I was being helped the entire time by the Store Manager, and I was very specific about what I needed). I just now opened the keyboard, only to find (after going online to the manual) that the USB, a power plug, the CD and the manual were missing. Now I have to go back to the store AGAIN. I was 4th in line on Friday 11/11/16 for the NES release, got my ticket around 08:45 and was told we can return by 13:00 to pick up the console. I was already an hour late to work and decided to leave and go back. My coworker offered to go for me around 12:00 and when he got there was told that someone accidentally sold mine. I was offered $25.00 off and an extra controller when available again which I thought, and was told, would be Wednesday 11/16. Just called sales and was told, there is no shipment coming in, there are none ordered (as there aren't any available to order at the time), and he was not sure when there will be any more available. This is extremely unacceptable! I waited in line, in the cold for over an hour just to hold a ticket to guarantee a game console. Days later, I am still holding this ticket with no idea when I will be receiving this promised game console. This is truly upsetting and blows my mind on how a mistake was made. It's simple, you have 30 consoles, you gave out 30 tickets, and no one gets a console unless they have a ticket. What really makes me angry is someone who didn't even wait in line probably showed up an hour before my coworker did snagged my "promised" console. read more

Don't go here for iPhone repair!!!! I scheduled an appointment online to get my phone screen fixed. I called 2 hours before my appointment to double check they could fix my phone and if I needed any extra information. The guy said "yes we can fix your iPhone 11 screen." I live on Mt Hood. I made the hour drive to Best Buy just to get there and have the guy tell me he doesn't have the parts to fix my iPhone 11 screen and it would be several days until they would receive more parts. I wish we would've told me that before I wasted over 2 hours of my life. The communication is horrible. Honestly I rather not talk to geek squad anymore at this store just for what happened today. I will explain my reasons for my actions. First I walk in going to return my Beats Studio Buds and get me some new AirPod pro 3s walk in line wait for a few minutes. I clearly remember that my STUDIO BUDS cost me $169.99 but honestly if I'm wrong I am but I was talking to a girl from geek squad she was a manager or something and told me I paid $129.99 and we were talking nothing bad happened she was nice about everything so I was as well I didn't raise my voice or anything but she trying to explaining something I already knew and me explaining I knew the difference between the headphones I got. I told her I'm sure I paid 169.99 but it's better for me to keep the headphones. A man (not sure of his name) from geek squad was just hovering over not sure why. He pointed at the receipt they printed showing me how much I paid saying "How much did you pay here" He said it in a way where it wasn't a question he said it in a way where it made me look stupid honestly I'm not sure why he decided to involve himself in the conversation when it was already over, I was about to be on my way I already told the lady I was going to be on my way and not do it. She told me alright that was the end of it.He honestly shouldn't have said anything at that point but after he said what he said I looked at him and looked at the paper and back at him in disbelief and told him " Why the f*** are you coming at me like that" he honestly had no reason to involve himself and seemed unprofessional I was already on my way and didn't have to be treated like that so at the end I was kicked out honestly on my part I think I had a good reason to tell him that because he was honestly being rude but if you're reading this hope you treat future customers better and not make them seem stupid. read more

I have to give credit where credit is due. I brought my car in to get a keyless entry system installed. Jeremmy the installer guy went way above and beyond for me. We had trouble with the install because an electronic component in my car was faulty. He took the time to research the part and even tried to locate one for me locally. With his help I was able to locate and purchase the faulty part so that he could do the install. He did a great job with the install and even threw in a remote hatch unlock that I didn't know I had. He also cleaned up some bad wiring that he thought looked funny. All in all a great experience. I know these big box stores get knocked around a bit but my experience was very good. I'd go back and have Jeremmy work on my car no problem. read more

Stay away from Geek Squad (Gresham) ! They just want you sell you a new computer. My less than 2 year old Acer laptop bought at Best Buy died one morning with no warning. No juice, period. Gresham Geek Squad was the only one with a same day appt. After plugging in lots of different adapters, running tests, etc. the geeker determined it was probably the motherboard. Her advice --I could return it to Acer, wait for weeks, pay lots of money.... but I should probably just buy another computer. After whining to my son about having to shell out another $ 600+ (my old laptop lasted 7+ years), he suggested I go to his local computer repair shop on Hawthorne & SE 21st for a 2nd opinion. In 60 seconds (maybe less!), they flipped over my laptop, pressed a small little reset button, and voila, everything is working again. They didn't even charge me because it was so simple. I feel stupid. I googled it, and it is common knowledge (except for Geek Squad who just wants to sell a new computer to you) that there are little reset buttons since many batteries are no longer accessible. I thought I liked going into a real store to buy things, instead of buying online. I thought I liked the easy access that Geek Squad provides, (except I found out it's not so easy to just drop off a device without an appt., and you might have to drive all over town to get a same day appt.). I won't even consider buying another big purchase at Best Buy with their rip-off business model, and it feels great to have a found a local computer repair shop that is smart, fast and honest. Best Buy doesn't make anything, their quality is matched by any other reseller of electronic goods. They appeal is again based upon their merchandise, which they do not produce. The defining difference for Best Buy is the quality of their customer service, which is poor at best. So this is my experience with Best Buy in Gresham Oregon, I wouldn't say it was great. I purchased an IPOD Touch for use in a raffle, and taped the gift receipt to the back, intending for it to be drawn and given away. Unfortunately no one won the prize and so I had to return the Ipod. I returned the Ipod in the exact condition I purchased it, sealed from the factory, no wear or tear on the product, in fact I am sure they put it back on the shelf for repurchase. I paid for the merchandise on a credit card and really wanted to just have the funds returned on the credit card. Best Buy has a policy that you can't put the returns back on the credit card without the receipt. I of course had taped the the gift receipt to the back of the package. Because it wasn't the receipt with the credit card number on it, or the amount paid on it they refused to put it on my credit card, which I had with me of course. They claimed that they couldn't be sure it was going on the correct card. Here is the deal of course, if they pull up my account, they can tell every purchase I have made at Best Buy for the last 10 years. It took a half hour to get to the point that we were at at this point. I was running out of time, and so rather then pushing to have him go through the records to credit my credit card, I allowed them to give me an gift card with $180 dollars on it. I don't need 180 dollars worth of merchandise from Best Buy, but I figured I would use it somehow. Fast forward a week or two later, I decided to give my employees gift cards from Best Buy so that they could use them, I was going to split them up into 4 $50 dollar cards and everyone should be happy. I walk into Best Buy in Gresham again get through the line and had over my 180 credit, with an additional credit card to cover the balance. They will not break up the denomination of the gift card for me. They won't allow me to purchase gift cards for my employees using the credit I already have with them. Right now Best Buy has $180 dollars of my money in their accounts, and has had it for a couple of months. The lead manager on shift basically said that that is their policy and there is nothing that he could do. I was not pleased with his lack of concern at all. So I asked him for the Store managers name and number. He provided me the store managers name, and the 1-800 number for their online sales department. I spent about 40 minutes on the line most of the time on hold listening to hold music while I was cut off three times in the course of the call. When I finally got to customer service I explained the situation, and was put on hold again for another six minutes while she talked with her manager. When she came back on line she apologized but said they weren't going to do anything to help me out. I am sure their corporate policy makes sense at some level, but I for one will not be voluntarily spending any additional money at this location in Gresham Oregon, nor will I be inclined to use Best Buy as my electronics purchase point. Id rather drive 20 miles to Fry's in Wilsonville. I guess Id give them 1 star out of 5 for customer service. read more

Today my daughter and I went to best buy in Gresham to ask for advise since the phone had been acting up. We were helped by a very surly girl at the cell phone desk. We came in yesterday and talked to Juan about buying a laptop and printer. Gave us a ton of information about different laptops and their capabilities. My husband went home and talked about it and returned today, (mind you we live in Clackamas and drove back to Gresham JUST to have Juan help us again) and bought a new laptop, printer, flash drive and a DVD player for an amazing price. Even signed us up for the Best Buy credit card. He was super informative and really knows his stuff. If you EVER need or want computer advice, go to Juan. He is amazing!!!!!!
