on Tuesday, I went into Best Buy to purchase a couple items for the switch 2. I used a gift card to purchase those items. the total went out to being a total around 120.88. The employee working behind the counter helping me check out expalined the total. I handed him one of the gift cards he said "oh it's 120 on the card you are all good to go" he put the receipt in the bag and I walked out without the gift card. I knew there was more on the gift card so I felt confused. I was outside of the store when I pulled the receipt out and noticed there was still $74 on it... I walked back into the store and he was already walking away from the cashier with my "empty" gift card... I stopped him. Showed him the receipt and he was like oh. I'm sorry here... Not sure how many people this has happened too... but just posting this here so this stuff doesn't happen to anyone else because clearly he knew what he was doing when he threw the receipt in the bag... and kept the gift card.. Tyrell was just the kind of guy I needed - patient, very great communicator and excellent customer service skills. He sorted out my problems and I am so grateful! I'm specifically reviewing the installation of my Viper remote start system. It was, bar none, the best customer service experience I've ever had. It was absolutely flawless. The installer, Jeremy P., took care of the paperwork and the installation. His attitude was incredible! It was such a pleasure to meet a person who obviously loves what they do, and can work with the public so well. He was so gracious even after I gave him the wrong year of my car ( which cost him extra steps and time). Definitely an Employee of the Year, in my humble opinion! Also, I am loving my remote start! I am giving them 1 star only because 1 manager out of 5 (including the geek squad mgr.) helped me and followed through with what they told me. Back on June 11th, I bought 2 laptops... 1 for my daughter and 1 for myself. I asked 4 employees from sales and geek squad area to have my trade in laptop's data/info transferred to my new laptop (coming to the store in ~5 days). After getting a text informing me that the laptop was in, I asked if the info was transferred. There was not a ticket for that and in fact could NOT find my traded in laptop. Turns out, they sent my laptop to a "refurbish depot"..... maybe in Kentucky, they said. Now, the store can ONLY e-mail this depot, because they can't call them for some reason. After ~4 different e-mails and 4 weeks of calling/stopping in and telling me it is in transit, I got the news it has been found and will be UPS back to Highland. Of course, I had to CHANGE MANY,MANY passwords in the meantime . I called corporate to ask for direction and SOME sort of compensation for the service I did NOT get and my unnecessary need to change passwords. He suggested I ask for the moon, which I can't do. I am giving a very mixed review of this store. I have always had exceptional customer service there and yesterday was no exception! I was looking for 2 laptops and the young man was super knowledgeable and helpful. I wish I know his name. He's been there 4 years if that helps. Anyway...I digress. On August 13th, my wife and I ordered several thousand dollars worth of appliances (fridge, dishwasher, stove, and OTR microwave), scheduled for delivery on August 19th. We were both super excited to be doing this, as we had been saving up for awhile so that we could switch to stainless steel appliances. It was supposed to have been one of the highlights of our year. Unfortunately, it turned into a HUGE nightmare. On the evening of August 18th, my wife and I disconnected our kitchen appliances, as we were instructed to by the store staff. We transferred most of our food to coolers with ice to keep them cold, as we just expected to transfer them to our new fridge the next day. Fast forward to about a half hour prior to our scheduled delivery time. I was a bit concerned because we had not gotten a call or email about our delivery, as is generally the practice with these types of purchases. I call the store to find out that our delivery date had been pushed back to August 26th without our knowledge or consent. After expressing my extreme frustration with the appliance manager, we decided (against our better judgment) to not cancel our order and to just wait for the August 26th delivery date. We ended up having throw out all of our food from our cooler and waste money eating out all week. It is now almost 10:30pm on our scheduled delivery day, two and a half hours after the end of our delivery window, and it has become apparent that we are not getting our delivery. We called several times throughout the day and were assured by the staff at the Highland, IN store that our appliances were on the truck for delivery and that everything would go as planned. It is apparent now that, either I was being lied to, or your store's tracking system is so archaic and dysfunctional that your staff is inadequately equipped to deal with large dollar purchases. This has been, by far, the worst experience I have ever had the misfortune to have wasted my time on. I have been without a fridge and a stove for over a week now, and now it will be going on two weeks. Every time I called the store today to get an update, I got a similar "pass the buck" response to my concerns. "It's on the truck, it'll be there today" "We can't call the delivery people" "Call me at 9pm if they don't show up" I missed my Dad's 68th birthday party to wait for these appliances to be delivered and installed, and I'm just fed up. I will be cancelling my order, and I will never do business with Best Buy again. I have spent thousands of dollars in your store prior to this, and it ends here. I have never had to deal with this level of incompetence before, and that's coming from someone who used to be a Sprint customer. I really don't know why I was foolish enough to let Steve talk me into not cancelling my order last week with the first delivery delay and buying from someone else, but I'm not letting it happen again. Not only have you lost me as a customer, but I will personally make sure that as many people know about why Best Buy is the absolute last company that should be trusted with a major purchase. The first words out of the technicians mouth without even looking at my IPad was "if your iPad is over 2 years old I'm telling you right now, I cannot fix it." I was looking for a basic laptop to replace the one I've had the last seven years. Didn't want to spend a lot of money but still wanted one powerful enough to stream movies and music and lighter than the old one. After checking out the new stuff to see where specs are, I found their open box section. They had just what u needed. The computer was like brand new and I only shelled out$160 for a Lenovo amd a6 with 8 gigs of ram 320 gb hard drive. I plan on updating the hard drive later. The sales people were very nice and not pushy. When I asked questions about the laptops he was very responsive and didn't pretend to know all the answers. I'll definitely be back. read more

Went to the Geek Squad (for the second time) to get the hard drive on my personal computer repaired. The only thing I received was a bill for over $200 dollars and put on hold on their 1-800 number for well over an hour when attempting to get answers. I will never use their services nor purchase a computer at Best Buy again. Update Since this Morning: Geek Squad's customer service is deplorable-I called their so-called 1-800 Geek Squad ph# and was on hold for over an hour, got no answers, and asked to speak to a manager, was put on hold again for over 10 minutes and transferred to some BS appliances guy in Texas! I went to the physical location in Highland IN (store number 1774) where I was met with a very rude Geek squad rep in a white shirt & black tie around. I demand to speak to a manager, where I spoke to Jose A. & Doug. SEVERAL times I tried to relay to both of them that my computer was checked in on 11/02/2014, I received an email to call the store on 11/03/2014, I called & gave permission to move forward on 11/04/2014, however nothing was done until after I started complaining same day-ironically when I attempted to check the status of my computer repairs (11/06/2014 after 12:00pm). I don't appreciate being put on hold for over an hour while simply attempting to check the status of my computer. I don't appreciate being given the run around over the phone nor in person. I don't appreciate a rude and apathetic Geek Squad employee more concerned about the volume of my voice than the lack of customer service I received (that only exasperates the situation further upsetting the customer). And I don't appreciate the dismissive attitude taken to my level of increasing displeasure with Geek Squad having to seek out solutions to my ill-repaired computer multiple times with Geek Squad in the first place. I had speakers and a amp installed in my truck , techs talk a good game I've had nothing but issues with the installation speakers go in and out noisy sound coming out of one speaker, dose not fade front to rear. I've taken it back 4 times , each with different reasons on what could of been. Every time I call to inform them with the issue they setup appointment when I bring in they check out my complaint then the schedule another appointment to fix issue my goodness I thought that was the reason fort first appointment! This has happened 3 other times with same results not fixed!!! This last time I go in the highland store to talk with tech and the no longer work no tech at all . They schedule an appointment withmeriville store and that tech looked Ortho over and he supposedly fixed issue telling me it was loose wire again I left thinking it was fixed ! Well same issue again, Best Buy needs to hire qualified techs my matter is still not fixed! I'm taken my truck to a audio store to fix this issue . I bought a Samsung Washing Machine and Dryer on the 23rd of August and it was delivered on the 25th of August. By the 15th of September the Washing Machine didn't work. Geek Squad was pretty cool came out twice to work on the washing machine while after spending $1700.00 I am at the Laundromat, needless to say when they told me they had to rewire the machine, I told them to give me a new one which took longer then when I purchased it too get the new one. Then the day they brought the new one, they drivers said they was dropping off and not taking the old one and they are not connecting the new one, which I had to call Best Buy so they can escalate the call so the guys can connect the washing machine and take the broken one so needless to say I have no confidence in the washing machine, no confidence in ordering appliances from Best Buy ever again. read more

Went to store for price match. No one had an answer as to why they couldn't price match an item. One person said it was because the store being price matched had to much inventory. Another person said it was the color. A third person said it was because the discount was to much. And finally a fourth person said because we don't price match those two stores. Yet I went and took my purchase to kohls and they accepted the price match with no issue.
