I am usually always able to find what I need here, but I may go to another home improvement store if I'm looking for better pricing and the brand doesn't matter. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience with Home Depot (Pro Desk + cabinet installation) has been beyond frustrating and deserves to be shared. I project manage hundreds of property rehabs in our area, this is my first and last experience using this store location: I purchased a full kitchen cabinet package along with installation. What followed was a complete breakdown at every step of the process. Delivery alone took FOUR separate attempts: * One driver showed up, didn't call, and just left. * Another delivery was missing part of the order entirely. * I had to make four separate trips to the store myself just to try to sort things out. Then came the installation -- which somehow made things worse. The same third-party team that measured my kitchen showed up to install and then told me multiple cabinets don't even fit. How does that happen when THEY did the measurements? At this point, I'm out hundreds of dollars on a project that should have been straightforward. After I raised these issues, I was contacted and apologized to, and told they would "make it right." Since then? Silence. * I called the Pro Desk again yesterday and was told upper management would call me back -- no one did. * Tonight, at 10 PM, I received an automated email saying my cabinets are being canceled because they've been sitting too long. No resolution. No follow-up. Just canceled. So to recap: * Multiple failed deliveries * Incorrect/missing items * Installers who mismeasured and caused cabinets not to fit * Out-of-pocket costs with no resolution * Broken promises from management * Zero follow-through, ending in an automated cancellation email This has been a complete waste of time, money, and energy. If you're considering using Home Depot Schererville for a full kitchen project -- especially involving delivery and third-party installation -- I strongly recommend thinking twice. I'm still waiting for someone to actually take responsibility and fix this. Have now continued to still have the project unfinished with no reach out or help after coming into the store twice, calling every day. The most insane experience I've ever had. Horrible experience!!! Do not buy an entry door at this location!!!! I order an entry door in November 2024 and received it two months later in January. I initially did not unboxed the door because of how cold it was and didn't have plans to install it yet. When I got a chance to unboxed it I noticed there was a chip on the finished brick mold and so I took it back to Home Depot and they agreed to fix it but it's been almost 3 months since I dropped it off and it's now the end of April and still no door. I've been stopping by and calling to get an update but no one seems to know anything. The guy don who is supposed to fix it hasn't call to give me any update. Nate from the Hardware department was absolutely amazing today. I came in because my power went out last night and my generator had stopped working. The lady at the counter was trying to call someone from Electronics, but I guess they were busy because she couldn't get a hold of anyone. That's when Nate stepped in and immediately started helping me. He was eager to solve the problem--looking up troubleshooting tips, grabbing the same model from the back, and reading through the manual. Another associate came from the back but seemed rushed and said he'd return. Nate kindly said, "I got it," and continued assisting me without hesitation. He ended up swapping out my old generator and even charged the new one for me so I could come back and pick it up later. This young man represents hospitality on another level. He was incredibly kind and patient. Nate, thank you from the bottom of my heart for simply caring. You are amazing, and I truly believe God has great things in store for you. It's so nice when I can leave a positive review when it comes down to tech vs humans. Had to use a $200 gift card and bought a bunch of household stuff. They didn't have dishwasher pods in stock, and since I used have gift card half debit card... it was a little bit of a challenge getting the store credit. Louise from customer service was very involved with helping me get the credit back. I had to go in, and picked up some toilet paper while I was there to use up the credit. Jeremiah checked me out and he was so kind, went a got a cart for me since it was two huge containers and my car was on the other side near customer service. My husband and I ordered $8k worth of fence supplies and paid extra to have them delivered at a specific time and date (between 4-6pm) so we would be home when they got dropped off. The day of drop off we get a call at 10:30 at work that the guy is on his way. My husband expressed to him we weren't home and that he paid extra for drop off between 4-6 and the man on the phone said and I quote "well that's inconvenient for me because this is my last delivery so I'm coming now" so then upon coming home from work worrying all day everything would be stolen we had to come home and move wood and concrete for 3 hours. read more

Please strongly reconsider purchasing large appliances from Home Depot. We purchased a GE Profile washer/dryer combo recently. When we received, we installed ourselves ( HD said they don't hook these up). We used it once and realized it wasn't going to be a unit we would want to move forward with...strong smell, takes much too long to wash and dry. So, we went to HD to discuss an exchange to a separate wash and dryer. The gal in appliances, Judy, told my husband he would have to call at least two numbers because they don't take back returns. She told us which # to call first. The first number was to the delivery company, not sure why we had to call them. The 2nd was to GE. Well, we couldn't anyone at either number. We were on hold for a supper long time; never reached a person. Husband went back to the store and the store told us oh well, it's been 48 hours, so they can't do anything. Was never able to reach GE! So now, we've spent almost $3k on something we do not like. We will never again purchase appliances from HD. A local company will be our first choice from now on. read more

I bought Bali Solar Shades. I'm angry with the product, service, and installation. To keep things in perspective we treated 2 windows that each had 3 windows in them for 6 total motorized solar shades. It was 35 percent off and 2500$. Not cheap. First, the product, we just hit the 24 hour mark and one of our valences somehow has a wrinkle on it and two of the solar shades have creases... During installation my wife was here with my sister in law and the guy was having difficulty and was swearing a ton. Furthermore, the programming on the remote was garbage. The swearing is completely unacceptable. The service, I went to Home Depot to complain and he gave me a manager to talk to. Apparently he and the install guy talk and he calls me back. This is in regards to the window supposed to be custom but yet when follow extended 1/2 of the shades (1 full set of 3 windows) drops down over the bottom paneling. Their solution was to stop it and program it from going all the way to the bottom? I shouldn't hVe to click a button to stop. Why did the living room match perfectly? Pictures below. My wife had been in previously and had dealt with Josette- who was very helpful and provided a lot of assistance. We arrived at the carpet/window/flooring section today, where two employees ( one male, one female) were sitting. Initially they were discussing a problem order with each other. We sat down at the order desk. The two employees pointedly ignored us, not even acknowledging our presence even though we were seated across the desk from them. After 20 minutes without them speaking one word or even a greeting we left to buy the products at Lowes. I had a great experience tonight at Home Depot in Schererville. I took this opportunity to handle two issues I had with things purchased at Home Depot. First I needed to exchange a recently purchased battery for my sump pump backup. The battery was defective and not holding a charge. Being as though I've been through several flooded basements I made this a priority. Michelle in the customer returns section helped me do an even exchange despite the fact that I did not have my receipt. This was a no hassle exchange and an extremely pleasant situation. While getting my replacement battery I remembered that we were having troubles with a GE profile wall oven purchased two years ago from Home Depot. I thought I had purchased the extended service package when I bought the unit and thought I would inquire. Remarkably Judy the sales associate in appliances, said she remembered me and was certain that I purchased the service plan. I recall thinking heck, I'm glad you're certain I'm not so sure. Judy looked up my information and after combing through many purchases was able to find the service agreement for my unit she then provided me with the numbers to call and instructions so that I can have the unit repaired. Now you might be saying how can you give a store five stars when your sole purpose in visiting the store was to return or service two bad items. Reality says that things happen and often times businesses should not be judged by the mistakes that are made but rather by how they handle the aftermath. The Home Depot - The service plan saved me this time I got a quote today for 395 to fix the oven then realized I might have protection! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Schererville, Indiana

We have been long-standing Home Depot customers and recently spent thousands of dollars in the Schererville store renovating a bathroom. Also since December we have purchased a dryer, dishwasher and a microwave. We recently purchased a GE Cafe refrigerator in platinum glass. Purchase price of $4800. My husband is an engineer and went into the store and measured it. He also looked over all of the specs closely. On the day of delivery he was not home - delivery arrived and I was told they had to check for clearance. They returned 5 minutes later without ever taking it off of the truck and informed me it was too big to fit through my front door. They said it was too big to fit into anyones front door -and that a buyer would need French doors. Seriously? Why would GE make a refrigerator that is too big to fit into a standard size exterior door? I called my husband and he was perplexed but he was at work so they said they would have to return it. My husband came straight home and spoke to GE on the way and they verified that all doors and drawers can and should be removed for entry. We called the store and we're informed the delivery driver returned the refrigerator before they left our street. My husband went to the store that evening and noted there were two different measurements listed on the refrigerator. Home Depot made an error on the sales flyer listing it two inches wider. Long story short management informed us that the delivery company was refusing to deliver any refrigerator to our home over 30 inches wide (there are basically none this size) and they couldn't figure out how to get it to us, the best they could do was drop it off in front of our house and after my husband got it into the house they would consider reducing the cost for the inconvenience. Guess what? I just ordered the same model from Maruschak Appliance and they have no concern with delivery as we have a standard size exterior door. We were even happy to pay for the delivery. Home Depot could have cared less that we took our business elsewhere and Maruschak said they see failed attempted deliveries frequently because Home Depot contracts out the deliveries and they don't know what they are doing. Also shocking that a multimillion dollar corporation was being dictated to by a low performance delivery company -who is even in charge? We have a $20,000 credit line on our project card that we will be closing out and we will take that business elsewhere DO NOT purchase appliances here -the lack of customer service was astounding Also, the delivery person informed me that they had taken 5 other refrigerators back that were the same model because they are too big to fit in a standard front door. the lemon policy on my refrigerator states that if they have to come out to fix it for the same problem 3 times that it will be replaced, but what they dont tell you if they dont replace a part it isnt considered a visit even if was for the same problem they have come out 4 times but tell me it only counts as 2 visits because they only replaced the ice maker twice and defrosted it two other times. very disappointed in the extended warranty and the customer service with it. Had a horrible experience with the flooring department. Purchased flooring and when the installer came in he tried telling me that my floor was not level. Installer tells me if I go through Home Depot to fix it they will charge me $500 BUT if I go through him he's only going to charge me $120.
