I have mixed opinions regarding Best Buy. I dislike shopping online because to me, shopping is all about testing it out. Its like a car, you dont buy it just because they say its in good running condition, you test drive it and make sure the "feel" is right. Yes, I know that's why they made the return policies but, I just love the idea of walking in, actually browsing and testing it out before making any final decisions. Their customer service isnt the best because honestly, I was there tonight but, I had to literally interrupt 2 staffs from their "talk" or "snickering" to get help. Honestly, one even rolled his eyes at me and my mother. It was absolutely annoying. Almost wanted to walk out. BUT luckily a female staff helped my mother and I out by walking us through several options in the computer section. In addition, the staff at the help desk was kind enough to help me out within 5 minutes even though he was dealing with a difficult shopper. Overall: I just think some of their staff should be re-oriented on proper customer service. read more

Came in yesterday and bought a Sony 75 inch tv, PlayStation 4, and a sound bar from Mikey. Mikey's friendly, cool, and a pleasure to deal with. He's also knowledgeable with Sony's products and was able to thoroughly explain all the features on each product. Thank you for the pleasant customer service. It was enjoyable speaking to you during the time I was there. I hope to deal with you again soon the next time I visit. I feel that this place is one of the best places if you love electronics. I love electronics so I go there all of the time. I love video games, movies, music, and computer things and Best Buy has all of that. They have reasonable prices and even if somewhere else is cheaper, they will always price match. I signed up for their rewards card many years back and probably at least received $100 worth of gift cards since then. It may not seem like a lot for all the years I have been shopping there, but $5 here helps to whatever I buy. They are always willing to help you out, probably because they get a commission, but they are friendly while doing it. I remember that I bought my PSP there and got the warranty with it. Since then, the PSP went down in price by about $50, so I returned it saying that a pixel went out (which it did) and they refunded me what I payed for the very first time. I bought a new PSP for about $50 cheaper and got to keep that extra cash. They always seem to have what I am looking for. I bought my flat screen TV from them and they were very helpful in helping me choose. They all know their stuff, sometimes even more than me so I am glad to shop there. read more

Terrible management! It's a holiday weekend, and there's only ONE person on staff in the mobile department - the most popular department in the store. I'm standing in line for over 15 minutes, no acknowledgement that I'm there, no "I'll be right with you as soon as I'm done with this person," nothing. The manager walks over, no acknowledgement from him, either. I feel so welcome here! As it's finally my turn, some girl decides it's okay to cut in front of me because she had been waiting around looking at phone cases while I stood IN LINE for the past 20 minutes. Sorry, you forfeited your place in line when you left, and by now there is a fully formed line behind me. At least the associate didn't argue with me about that. One star for that. Spoke to the manager after my ordeal, said there would be another worker "coming in soon" which doesn't really help me as I'm now leaving. Best Buy's always seem to range in size pending on their location. Despite the small confines that this Best Buy has, it did nothing but remind me of Fry's due to their poor service and unintelligible people. First off, they wanted to charge me a full $28.99 for a DVD that was on sale for $4.99, just because it didn't have a sticker for a Golden Compass movie voucher on it. Wait a second, let me get this straight, I'm getting the exact same copy of a movie, with the same case, the same edition, but w/o a movie voucher and a nice gold sticker on the packaging, and you want to charge me full price? Suck it. Second, I asked for the $4.99 version then and if any were in stock. They said they had five left, however I searched all over for them and couldn't find them so i sent the people in blue to go find them instead. So the manager asked one of their guys to start searching for one. Oh the uninspired look of having to do work couldn't have been more priceless. He looked like a kid looking at the clock waiting for recess as he stood in front of the terminal. After about five minutes I told him to forget it, and he shrugged. Third: Back to the manager I go to comment on their ineptitude. They had ZERO people in the DVD section which is all of 10 rows, you'd think they'd have someone there to help, however instead they had a gang party at front shooting down some cola, opening up some candy they probably took from their registers and were laughing it up instead of actually helping customers. It was appalling to me. The manager said that those five people were actually resolving another issue. Like what???? How much sugar they can down to help them through their shift? I'm sure there are some friendly people that work here and maybe even some of them know the difference between a Plasma and a LCD, however each time I go to this location, someone always displays an act of "Fry's-ness". Pending on my mood, this is either a major frustration or it's sheer comedy. If it wasn't for the convenience of this location (despite the traffic zoo that can occur on Ranch Road), I'm not sure if I'd frequent this place that much. read more

Best in Blue, Store 142. This has to be the best Best Buy around. Since Santana Row is in a haughty taughty neighborhood, and the other Best Buys are far. This one is conveniently located at the crossroads of 880 and 237. Go here on Tuesdays for New Releases. They even have an in-store Magnolia for the self-proclaimed "home theater aficionados." Video games. LCD TVs. PCs. iPods. DVDs. Blu-Rays. Come here for a good deal and find somewhere close to eat after. read more

First off let me say that many of the negative reviews posted here are unfair. If you don't believe me just read them before judging the store based on how many stars the reviewer gave. "I waited 15 minutes for someone to approach me." Really? Why didn't you proactively seek out someone to talk to? "All of their webcams are Logitech." Really? Did you go onto the Best Buy website and try placing your order for in-store pickup? Okay, complaining aside, my main intent here is to give props to the car audio installers at this location. I've taken cars to mom and pop shops for installs and I've tried various retailers. The problem with the M&P shops is the entire process is like dealing with a used car lot. Every step of the way they're trying to sell you this upgrade or that component that you don't really need. They take shortcuts, like cutting the wiring harness and twist-typing wires together instead of taking the time to research and order an adapter harness. They take in too many jobs and make you wait for hours or days. I never had any of these problems at Best Buy. At Best Buy you explain what you want to do and they help you pick out the parts you need, then tell you everything you need to install your components before they start. They schedule appointments in advance and they are always ready for you when you get there. If they need any more parts they will call you and ask if it's okay to add them before using them. I am a car enthusiast so I have bought and sold many cars. Every time I get a new car I take it to the Milpitas Best Buy and have them install a basic amp and a subwoofer. They always have the parts I need in stock and they can usually do the install in an hour or two. Sometimes I have to make an appointment and come back in a day or two because even though there aren't a lot of people shopping at this Best Buy they get a lot of car audio installs. My advice is to skip the mom and pop shops and go to Best Buy where they guarantee their work and give honest advice. read more

Awful customer service. Purchased keyboard here. Stopped working after a few weeks. Tried to get a refund, but they only have a 15 day (!) return policy. Amazon, Target, Walmart, ... basically every other retailer in the world has the same standard 30 day window, absolute minimum. But not Best Buy. Told them I didn't want to replace a keyboard that stopped working after 3 weeks since it's obviously a poor quality design. Manager wouldn't even come over to talk about it. Its reasons like this that Best Buy is failing. Should have used Amazon with 0 hassle returns. Bottom line: save yourself some money and hassles by stop buying at Best Buy. read more

He will matches any price from any store no question ask. He is quick and fast, from the time I walk in and out of the store in just 30 min. for shop washer and dryer machine. Please hire MORE workers! I came to buy a laptop after crazy Black Friday had ended. Even though it was a Monday evening, the return/checkout lines were out the door! For a sec, I thought it was Black Friday all over again :( I knew which model I wanted to buy... so it was a matter of chasing down a rep to pull it out from the back for me. Took 45 mins ----_______---- Another lady in back of me was cursing her head out at the fact that there was only 1 worker trying to help out a total of 10+ customers. Finally got my laptop after 45mins and waited to be checked out for another 15. Yay out the door in 1hr. I would hate to be working here. Management needs to hire more staff...especially since it's holiday season. CROSSING FINGERS: I dont find anything wrong with this laptop. Dont wanna wait in that massive return line :( read more

We have made a few big purchases at this location and will continue to go to this best buy store for our electronics. I have never had trouble finding assistance here! There was one ordeal involving multiple phone calls to Verizon in which the employee very patiently helped us the whole time even when Verizon was making it unusually hard to get a cel phone. More recently, the staff saved my time by suggesting a price match when I was going to buy from Amazon instead to save money. My only real issue is the push for extended warrenty which I know is a part of their job and not unique to this store. I really do not need or want extra warrenty and wish they would listen when you say no. read more

Ok, let me make three statements that you should keep in mind while reading my review: First, I don't compare a business against an ideal that doesn't exist. Second, I am a recovering Fry's addict. Their ineptitude may have edged the rating up a bit. Third, I am a VERY active online shopper who has been making online purchases since 1999. That being said, this is simply the finest brick-and-mortar retail outlet that I've been to. Their displays are neat, orderly and welcoming. Their store is user friendly. It's laid out in a way that makes finding what you want easy and intuitive. The staff's knowledge just knocked my socks off. I'm no fool myself, so I fired off some questions just to test them. I was impressed. Keep in mind, I'm used to stumping Fry's employees by simply asking where to find a product. Anyway, I digress. After my "knowledge test," I was sold as the staff helped me in a very friendly and patient manner. The helped me in buying a TV, a laptop computer, a Bose sound system, and in qualifying for the 18-month no-interest account. All was done efficiently. I'm telling you folks, I'm sold! The sales person even looked up the product pricing on its competition's websites to makes sure their prices were as low. Very cool. And their warranties were VERY well explained and comprehensive. Finally, on our journey for a laptop we ended up driving to Milpitas. Finally there was help. Yes, they were extremely busy, but they found a way to accomodate everyone in the laptop section. The young man who worked for AT&T (not a Best Buy employee, yet very knowlegeable and willing to help all guests) was way cool. We ended up getting a HP laptop and buying all of the extras. We are very happy. Definitely going back to this Best Buy for future electronic purchases. read more

Never get help from Nathaniel from the mobile department unless you want to spend 45 minutes to return a phone used for a few hours within 30 days. Wow, this store's customer service is awful. I tried buying something online for pickup at the store, but the website had issues (one of the free gift items wasn't available in the store, and it wouldn't let me complete the purchase, or delete the free item). I tried calling to have them put the item aside for me. I'd wait on hold for several minutes, then I could hear them pick up, then immediately put me back on hold. This happened three times, even after I hung up and called back. Needless to say, they just lost a $380 purchase. read more

I went to purchase a 4K TV which i already chose and had in my online best buy cart and all i needed help with was picking a home theater system and i asked for the help of the customer service and the Lead of the department Brad Temple came and help me and i specifically told him my budget but he kept on forcing the higher price TV along with instead of giving me a package deal which was on sale for the home theater system he suggested everything separately and it almost cost me $800 bucks alone and receiver separately $300 bucks when i simply went online and found the entire set of home theater system with the receiver included for only $400 buck. He wasted my time and was upset when i chose everything online and didn't buy what he suggested i could clearly see he was very irritated and now i think its better for us to not even ask for their help coz u can't trust anything they say. Having dealt with many electronic stores, and being dissatisfied most of the time. I like Best Buy. They are honest. Maybe not all, but most. For instance, I bought an IPod at some other sotre (Will not say which one) The so called "Warranty" didnt cover what was wrong with it. So Immediatly I went to Best Buy, I had yet another problem with it and BB replaced it. All I paid was to re up the warranty. The other day I bought a bluetooth, they directed me to a better one. It was no more expensive, It was the exact same price. Now I say pricey, because some items are pretty expensive. But it is well worth it. read more

I mean...it's a Best Buy. I've been going to this Best Buy location for probably 10 years now. Occasionally the franchise will have some good deals and bargain finds, so for that the store serves its purpose. The customer service is SUPER hit or miss though...not sure if it's because 90% of the employees are in their early to mid-20's or what. Get it together millennials. You're making us look bad. Anyway, I've had some awesome experiences with workers here and in the Geek Squad staff, but I can recall more negative experiences (such is human nature). Most recently, I ordered a device online for store pick-up, but the next day found it at a better price somewhere else. Unfortunately Best Buy had already prepared it for pick up in store. I didn't want to go the price match route, so I called them to ask whether I could cancel the order or return it before picking it up, and was told by the rep that I needed to come in to pick it up, then return it in-store. Okay, that's fine, so I went to Best Buy to pick it up and return it as I was told, and BOY OH BOY was this employee rude. She was working the register in the store pick-up line and when I got to her she didn't look at me and just asked what I was picking up, for my ID and order #, etc. I didn't really think anything about her attitude until she went to go pick up my device, and I told her I was going to return it. She holds the device in one hand, stares at me, and says SUPER rudely, "So...you're telling me you DON'T want to pick this up?" I explained to her the situation and what I was told on the phone, and she says "Well, do you just want me to just cancel your order then? We don't do returns." First off, I'm getting conflicting information from Best Buy but most of all her tone and her facial expressions were so insulting. She was in her early to mid-20's and I'm annoyed that I couldn't get her name, but she wasn't wearing a tag and I wasn't about to prolong any conversation with her more than necessary. Anyway, this Best Buy in particular has a customer service problem, it's like a grab bag and you never know what kind of person you're going to get so just be prepared. read more

Whenever I ask for help, I'll get what I need plus accessories that I don't need (instead of asking me if I wanted accessories to go with my electronics, the sales guy would just shove it to me). Don't come expecting Curbside Pickup - 11/29/20. But you can experience non-contactless pickup starting at 9AM

On September 7th at 12:30pm Eastern Stand Time, I purchased a $350 E-Gft Card through bestbuy.cashstar.com, which I was forwarded to from bestbuy.com. At 1:10pm Eastern Standard Time, the E-Gift Card was viewed and verified by my friend who lives in Rhode Island. On September 8th, when she tried to use the E-Gift Card at a store, it came up as declined. After being transferred FIVE times (THREE times to Cash Star and TWICE to Best Buy) on September 8th, since no one apparently could assist me, I gave up. On September 9th, after being transferred another FOUR times, Cash Star was finally able to give me the E-Gift Card number, which I was finally able to provide to Best Buy to figure out why it was declined. According to Best Buy and two receipts they copied me, someone used the E-Gift Card at the Milpitas California store. It was used at 3:15pm Eastern Standard Time (12:15pm Pacific Standard Time) to purchase a speakers, a charging cord, and something else. The card had only $1.27 left. On September 11th, I called the Milpitas Best Buy store to ask what they could do. They said they would look at footage and someone would get back to me the following day. On September 13th, no one had gotten back to me so I called back in, and they said they were continuing to look into it. I called the Milpitas Police Department who sent an officer to get footage. They told me that the footage was bad, so they couldn't do anything about it. NO ONE from the Milpitas Best Buy store has contacted me since, so I filed a complaint with BBB, finally getting someone from corporate to call me. They said they would do what they could to help. Come September 18th, I received no word, so I followed up and was told that nothing could be done since the card was verified resulting in the order being fulfilled and I would need to continue working with authorities. HOW CAN AN ORDER BE FULFILLED IF THE ORDER CAN'T BE USED? It has now been OVER TEN DAYS and this has not been resolved. read more

From the beginning it was pretty hot inside, not the most pleasant environment. Lack of staff, nobody ever came to ask us anything. We were able to find what we were looking for. BEST BUY They have everything you can possibly want in an electronics store, except that they are usually overpriced compared to other stores. Good place to browse around, though, and the staff is super friendly and tries to help. They always give you a "Welcome to Best Buy" when you first enter the store, so kudos for the friendly customer service. Once in a while, they have good DVD/Blu-Ray and video game sales, so I'm always on top of those listings! If you download the ShopKick app for your smartphone, you can scan items at Best Buy and accumulate points to get Best Buy credits to go towards your shopping at Best Buy! Awesome! read more

Well normally I don't really buy anything from Best Buy because they are way more expensive then say Amazon, so normally I would go here to test something out, or as a last resort needing something quick just buy it here. Well now that they have the price match I have been buying things here more often. Just find what I need, find it on Amazon and show it to them and I get the Amazon price without having to wait for the shipment. Also all the times I have been here the staff has been pretty good, not super pushy like some places, and when I did need help they were easy to track down and very friendly. read more

What happened Best Buy, I swear the staff in Magnolia/Television used to be a lot better!? Specifically, Kevin G helped us today. I was already prepared and had done some research and as the sales specialist he was unable to answer ANY of my questions about different makes & models. His head was buried in his phone googling for answers the same way I am capable of doing, but MUCH slower, this guy was in the slowest gear possible. Maybe I caught him on a bad day, maybe Best Buy needs to train their people better. As a topper, once we had selected a TV he tried to sell us a wall mount that WOULD NOT work with our television. We almost bought it. We looked at the back of the TV ourselves to see what size the mounting screws were, when we noticed the TV only had two spots for mounting screws!? Answer: LG OLED TVs need proprietary mounting equipment made by LG. Once we told Kevin he told us that Best Buy will give you these for free with the purchase of the TV... That is, if their sales people are educated on the equipment their pushing and bother to tell you. Do you research on your own. Don't rely on the sales people here to be educated at all. Ask questions to make sure you're getting everything your supposed to with the product your purchasing. read more

Bought an ex display model . It has intermittent disk problems . Best Buy denied the issue was an old issue it broke within 15 days. By the time I spoke to them it was passed the window . They refused to take it back and told me to call Manufacturer under warranty and told me not their problem . Called manufacturer they said bestbuy needs to send it back . Best Buy refused to take responsibility for selling a broken item and even shipping . Called my ins saying bestbuy is blaming me for accidental damage and the warranty process is they send it back and the manifucatueer won't take it from me. Ins. Company won't pay if it is not accidental damage . Finally it cost me money to ship it back . and convincing the manufacturer to take it back from me to fix a broken product that was sold by Best Buy Milpitas . This happened in Nov 14 th of last year I shipped the two days ago and finally bestbuy calls me today after I paid for everything for it to be shipped back packaging and all . That they will now accept to ship it. I told them I already shipped it can you reimburse and of course the answer is no . Don't buy any laptops from best Buy Milpitas they just don't care and don't take responsibility and clearly their brand is irrelevant to them . By far, the best experience I've had when looking to buy. (See the pun I made there) In all seriousness, I recently bought a washing machine from them and had them deliver it and install it as well. The people who came were the real deal. They quickly removed my old unit and easily places the new one in. They made sure to make sure not so damage it as they were moving it and installed it with no issues. Buy the product was fast and easy, and I turned to what I originally thought was going to be a huge headache into a overall great experience. I would highly recommend shopping here, not only is the customer service great, but they also have a ton of products to choose from. read more

This review is for their online ordering & pick up. I saw a low price tag for a deluxe edition of a new release CD that I wanted, so I ordered online for pick up at the Mountain View location and went to pick it up on my lunch break. Pick up was quick & easy, though I could see it being frustrating had there been a line at customer service as there usually is. I took a quick stroll around the store and the set up was kind of...scattered. It is much more open than the Union City store, but I had a hard time finding things. read more

This review is more or less about the awesome sales guy Hameed working here. Generally when ever I ask for help when I can't locate an item, the guys working in that store say that if it's not on the rack, we do not have it in stock. But in this store, it isn't like that. It was showing the item as in stock online, so I went to Hameed for help and he literally found the needle in a haystack. After some time of searching, I gave up and was ready to go to another store but he requested for two more minutes and found it. I really appreciate the dedication he showed to help me and as well as get business for his store. I really feel that online shopping is killing the stores but hopefully the stores can survive with the help of dedicated guys like Mr. Hameed. Coming to the store, its huge and one should be able to find anything which is available online and they do price matching too with the online prices. They do not price match for items which come along with gift cards though, I hope they change that policy. Parking lot is huge and one would never face issue with that. read more
