Insufficiently staffed for the holiday. I was at the cameras section for 40+ mins. No one came and offered to help. When I found a CSR, he was helping another customer, he politely asked me to wait. It was another 20+ mins wait till he could help. My question took him 2 mins to answer. During this entire 20+ mins, couldn't find another "free" CSR for help. Called best buy to check on an order, it's 45 mins of listening to Xmas song waiting for the next available CSR. Still on hold as I typed this review. In contrast, I went to Home Depot on the same day. Within 5 mins of entering, staffs asked if they could offer me to find anything. I know, I know. I'm not comparing apple to apple. I'm comparing an electronic store vs home improvement store. Still, I value great customer service regardless of the types of store. read more

I've been walking around aimlessly to find the Microsoft Office software to purchase and when I couldn't find it myself I asked someone working at Best Buy and the guy just pointed to the aisle I was just in and I went back to it and I still can't find it. I had a horrible experience at the plant location in San Jose off of Curtner. Not only did I have a horrible experience that I had to come back and return an item it was not able to be held properly by the staff. I even reached out to Customer Service online and had just as a frustrating time with that. I came to the Milpitas location hoping to find the product that I needed and I got a lot more in return. An associate by the name of Will helped me out so much. He took his time, he did not rush, and he helped me until I found a product. I did not get the product that I came for and we ran into some hurdles but he did not stop helping me until I found a product I was satisfied with in place of the other one. He even explain things to me in such detail that even though I was not camera savvy I understood enough to get what I needed. I was left in tears from the experience that I had at the Curtner location and I'm really glad that I was able to get something for Christmas for the person that I love most. This is probably one of the better Best Buy stores in the area. Super nice staff and excellent service. The employees really know what they are talking about and try to fit your needs as best as possible. I've had great experiences with the portable electronics section, especially in the cameras section. They've even remodeled the place since I've last been there with new LCD's around the place. read more

I have visited the mobile department a couple of times this month and was really happy with the service. Today Vivian helped me and she was great! She was very fast and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to get my new phone up and running and even though I was 30 minutes before my appointment they saw me right away. I really appreciated how they answered all my questions and concerns that I am sure they hear a million times a day. I didn't feel rushed or blown off. The fact that this store made appointments was a smart idea so not everyone was rushing in for the new samsung phone. I will be a returning customer. read more

i LOVE this best buy. ok so here's the info. my babe bought me an ipod nano this past christmas, even though i had asked for the shuffle, i know i'm spoiled. so he bought the insurance on it because he knows how horrible i am with technology. about a month ago was doing laundry at my mom's house, when she was pulling a load out of the machine she reaches down and says "hunny, what's this?" yup, you guessed it. so my poor baby was gone, i was so sad and felt even worse because it was a gift. a week later i went into bby, i asked if they covered water damage and they said my insurance did, so i told them it was soaked in water and obviously had died. after about maybe 15 minutes, he came to me and says "go pick out a new one" it was like music to my ears. this location has definitely earned themselves a new regular. they rock, 'nuff said. read more

When I went to the home entertainment area I could not find any one to help me. I waited 10 minutes until I finally found someone. I do have to say that the person who helped me was very knowledgeable of the products I was looking for, and explained the differences between the items. It was easy for me to make a decision of what I wanted to get. Great prices and I love how they will price match. read more

Amex and Twitter is running a promo where they are giving customers $10 credit when they sync their amex card to their twitter account and making a purchase. I have 6 Amex, 3 amex branded, 3 citi, boa branded amex cards. I synced up my amex cards with twitter and followed the guidelines to take advantage of the promo. I went to the local store in hopes of buying some bestbuy gift cards. I took a gift card and brought it up to the register. Hi i would like to load $10 to the gift card. I pay with my first amex and transaction one went through without a hitch. Transaction 2, I asked the cashier that I would like to reload the gc with $10. She has issues performing it even though it is explicitly stated that it was possible to do so. She has to confer with her manager (via phone). Then was able to perform it without issues. She asked to see my ID which I was perfectly fine with providing. So after the 2 purchases I told her i'd be back later as I wanted to make sure my amex purchases qualified for the promo as i waited for the email confirmation from amex. 15min later after receiving the email confirmation i attempted to continue the process of reloading my gc with my remaining amex cards. Transaction 3, manager was next to cashier, he asked to see my id, which i happily showed, transaction done. I even showed him my remaining cc for him to verify authenticity or whatever. he compared them one by one against my id and was ok. Transaction 4. manager wanted see my id again i provided. he then takes it back into the backroom. perhaps to make sure my id is real than a fake... after some wait he comes out (i'm getting impatient, frustrated) feeling like i'm being treated like a crook. we're talking $10x 6, i only bought $30 so far. if i was a thief, i'd rack up $xxxx and not come back to same store to arouse suspicions from managers. I been up front, telling them my intention about promo they have with amex/twitter. I ask the manager what's the problem, he wont tell me basically goes we have the right to refuse sale. i ask for name of his manager, he refers me to 800 number. names of managers i talked to were jose and kevin. both backed eachother up. ridiculous. a few years ago i had a case where a manager at the palo alto store refusing to allow me to return an UNOPENED electronic item within 14 days with receipt after they refused to price match. this is why i stopped buying crap from bb. So i call up corporate to complain. then the guy (jose) goes, i wouldn't show him my id. TELL THE TRUTH than backpedal and lie over what really happened read more

(Would give it zero stars if that was an option) Here's why.. As always, to buy electronics stuff which u need right away, I went to Best Buy. I wanted to buy prepaid sim card. They didn't have much options as seen online on the website, nor did the rep helping me know much. However, I needed the sim so got one. Apparently, at checkout, I asked the rep to add my member account details using my phone number that is associated with the account. He lied, he said, we can't do that anymore. He could have said, that he doesn't know how to do. I insisted, saying that I have done this couple of times in the past. He was adamant about the same. I requested him to check with another rep, he denied saying that he know. After the transaction was done, I went up to the customer services and told them the incident. The rep at customer services said "Hmm.. I wonder why he said that, there is an absolute way to add purchases to your account. I'll go check with him." There were couple of more places where I had to go, so I didn't wait. I have the receipt as proof to this incident. I don't know why, why people in customer relations act so stupid! Spent over $3500 on a refrigerator, washer and dryer and best buy has failed to install the item in our home. I purchased a washer/dryer and refrigerator at the Best buy store in Milptias, Ca on 11/23/2014 and set up a delivery and install for 12/13/2014. Before leaving the store, we confirmed that we had all the necessary parts needed to complete the install. The delivery men came in on 12/13 and told us that we did not have the stacking kit for the washer and dryer and that the installation could not be completed. I called customer service about the issue but was placed on hold for an extremely long time so I went back to the store and spoke to the appliance representative who said that they could order the stacking kit and have it delivered to the store on 12/16 and made a service appointment for the install 12/20. On Thursday 12/17, I called best buy to confirm our appointment and they had no record of it. I went back to the store on 12/19 and they told me that they could install the washer/dryer on the 31st, which is unacceptable. When requesting an expedited shipping date, we were denied. Being a loyal best buy customer for years, this is truly disappointing. Not only have we wasted weeks of our time, but we have also missed out on other promotions at different stores while waiting for Best Buy to fulfill their end of the transaction. We are stuck with an unusable washer and dryer in our garage, as the deliver/installation driver simply dropped it off. I am left with a bad taste in my mouth for Best Buy and would never recommend buying appliances from this store. We were there today looking for a Beats Studio wireless headphones in a specific color. I approached three different salespersons. Each one told me that they would look into it and never came back. The service was just atrocious and unacceptable. When I complained, the excuse was they were short handed. They should come up with a better excuse for the bad service. They found us a tv that fit our needs perfectly at a great price. Everyone was friendly and professional. Normally I go to Fry's for my big electronic purchases. They were nice and really efficient but I'm pretty bothered because they didn't even ID me for a $400 transaction, and it was CREDIT. What if someone stole my wallet and bought things with my card? It's not even all about me though, fraudulent charges are charged to the company. "Visa and MasterCard rules prohibit the acceptance of unsigned cards. If you present one, the merchant MUST ask you to sign the card and supply an ID. Visa guidelines specify that it must be an official government ID". I never sign my card so that merchants are forced to check my ID because I have gotten identity theft before. All I'm saying is please check ID! Especially on big purchases. read more

Sadly, this is the closest Best Buy to home. The customer service is terrible here. Every time I come here it is to buy big ticket items because I have a Best Buy Member's credit card. It always takes at least 20 minutes to find a worker to help me out. The signs are also no help. I walked around the entire area under the sign "iPod's and MP3s" only to found that the iPod's aren't even in that area (of course, I had to wait another half hour to be helped after finding what I needed). I always leave this store feeling aggravated. read more

They have literally spent hours just helping me get my computer up and running again. Five stars for the employees here! Jeffrey immediately approached us tonight and asked if we needed help. We looked like lost kids. Lol. He answered all of our questions and was very patient with us. He made us feel very comfortable and even shook my boyfriends hand to introduce himself and shook his hand as we left. Very nice young fellow who knows his stuff. Alex (who is extremely tall and has a cool tattoo) also answered a question for me. Also, I was sitting at the register in the tablet section on a bench and didn't realize another cashier was helping another customer. I apologized to Shameika, the supervisor checking out that other customer, and she politely said that it was no problem and that I was okay. Forgot to add, the man in the front greeting customers and checking the customers receipts in the front was te firstto try and help us out to show us where we needed to go to find a specific item even though he didn't know exactly where it was! Absolutely great customer service every time! I had called earlier today to see if an Item was in stock and got transferred to Jacob. He walked me through what was available and the differences between the products I had called about. (Dji Phantom 4 Pro and or DJI Mavic Pro) this guy is 100% A1 every time (although they have a great team) I look for Jacob any time I decide I need to add to my arsenal of technology. This review is specifically for an employee named Aubrey Mendoza... and I really pray his manager(s) read this review. I came in a couple of weeks ago because I needed to purchase multiple SD memory cards for my work as we use them for recording individuals in the courses we hold. Anyhow, there were only 4 of them out in the aisle so I grabbed the 4 but I needed more. My boyfriend went to go search for help and happened to stumble upon Aubrey. Aubrey went out of his way to check in the back and wherever else he needed to to see if he could find the other 3 since it read in the computer that there were 7 total in stock. He was very helpful, very friendly, and did a fantastic job and definitely should be complimented on that. It's rare these days to find great customer service, so Best Buy definitely has a great employee at hand and is a true asset to that store. Thanks again Aubrey! read more

What separates this place from other Best Buy locations is they are always (over)staffed with associates to help you out with any questions. When they have specials or sales the prices are really great, but when it's normal priced - don't buy it if you can find it online / from Fry's for less. read more

I ordered online and my order was ready in 15 minutes. I went to the store to pick up my order. I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Manager was super nice in directing me to store pick up line. Cashier was friendly and very helpful with my questions about an unrelated item I was looking at buying. I'm so happy with this whole experience. When I have a million things to do it was great that this stop was so quick and I was on my way to the next stop ahead of my estimated time. read more

I needed a USB cable and picked one up here. It was $30. I thought that was a lot to charge but I needed it that day so I figured I'd grit my teeth and get ripped off. Checkout was slow. I've never seen such an empty store with so many employees, but I stood in line for 5 minutes. There was a guy standing there, apparently for security, doing nothing for this entire time. When I tried to set everything up the cable didn't work right. Oh well, I ordered one online for $3 and it worked fine. I am sure glad I read the receipt carefully, Best Buy only takes returns on this for 14 days! I will not shed a tear when you clowns go out of business. Go ahead and charge 10X what online stores charge, have draconian return policies, give bad customer service. Your whole chain is dead to me. read more
