I would give this store 0 but there is no option for that here. My Refrigerator was supposed to be delivered between noon and 6pm today. Finally got a text saying the delivery would arrive at 2:35pm. I replied to the text immediately after reminding them dial the code at gate so we can let the driver through. One hour passed still no driver so I called 800 Best buy. Trinh picked up the phone after 29 mins, after I told him about my delivery, he remarked "You got a fancy fridge there" but said that he couldn't help so he transferred me. After another 20min or so of waiting a person picked up but disconnected the call. I finally called the store but no one is picking up so after another 30mins I finally decided to just drive to the store. Alfie the store manager at Best Buy Milpitas store #142 as well as the appliance manager at this same store were not able to reach their delivery supervisor, Tomorrow - that's the delivery supervisor's name, to find out what was the screw up on my refrigerator delivery. After another maybe hour, both Alfie and the appliance supervisor said that my fridge will not be delivered today, this was maybe 4:45pm. I insisted that the delivery window they provided was noon to 6pm and it is not 6pm yet. They said all they could do today is email the deliver supervisor and that they cannot give me reschedule date. If this is all the store manager and appliance supervisor can do then I don't think these people are qualified to do basic customer service. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. I went up to a associate after realizing that the product was not in the aisle. Barry helped me out by going out of his way to search in numerous areas. This is the nearest Best Buy to me, and being a gadget geek, I go there quite a bit. The sales staff are friendly and mostly knowledgeable, there's always plenty of inventory with a wide selection of popular brands, and the prices are competitive with Fry's or Central Computer. I've returned/exchanged some merchandise throughout the years and they've never gave me any hassle. There's plenty of parking (even on the weekends), quite a few restaurants near by, and it's next to highways 237 and 880. read more

General Manager SHAYNE AYANS (not sure how to spell his name) is the worse worker we've ever encountered in all bestbuy store we've been to, He's the one working on December 23, 2018 at around 4-4:30pm. I came here because of two incidents which is fixed by BEST BUY themselves because this manager is incompetent and obviously needs more customer service training than his staff. First incident: A female worker (I wouldn't mention when her shift is as this worker was respectful) told me that I am overcharged $20 for tax when I came to pick up my item, she said that I should be getting a refund for it. She asked me if I want my receipt emailed to me or paper and I said email then I left. I did not receive my receipt and my refund the day after. Second issue is when I went to my car I noticed that the box my Apple Watch came with seems to have been opened before (the flaps on the side is folded already) so I took a photo coz I thought that was weird. The moment I got home, I inspected the watch and saw a small scratch on the screen, this is a $399 item so a small scratch is unacceptable. I then went back to the store for three things, first is 'where's my $20 refund that the other worker told me about? Next is 'where's my receipt?' And third 'I wanna exchange because this item is damaged'. Now this incompetent manager came to us, I asked him about the overcharge tax (BY THE WAY SHAYNE BESTBUY INVESTIGATED THIS AND REFUNDED ME THE OVERCHARGE WHICH YOU COULD'VE DONE IF YOU'RE DOING YOUR JOB CORRECTLY) he said that the tax should've been automatically charged to me depending on the area and there shouldn't be any overcharge, I told him about what his staff said and all he said is 'I don't know what happened' and proceeded to 'don't you think we actually charged you less for tax? $20 for a $399 item?'. Now this guy is obviously not listening, I didn't say I was charged $20 for tax, I said his staff told me that I AM OVERCHARGED $20. He even called me a little lady which was somewhat offensive to me (I AM A WORKING PROFESSIONAL LIKE YOU, NOT SOME KID AND TO BE MORE PRECISE I AM ACTUALLY A NURSE) I asked him again because in my head why is he just standing in front of us instead of going on a computer to check what's going on, after a couple of minutes he finally went at the counter and looked at their system. He then said 'I don't see anything', NOTE: he did not ask for my order number at this point so we don't even know what he's looking at so I said 'don't you need my order number? Then I gave him my phone where my order number is. At this point I don't want to keep trying to have him fix this part because I can already tell he does not want to help and also it's only $20 so I told him 'you know what it's fine? Maybe it's her mistake' NOTE: this guy did not apologize whatsoever and also he kept touching his pin like as if he's trying to show us he is a manager and not a staff which worked against him because now we expect a better service. Into the next one. I told him 'I also want to exchange this item, it's damaged when we got it'. He then told me 'i think you scratched this item and just wants a brand new one', he's accusing me of damaging the item. I then showed him a photo that I took the day I picked up this item showing that the box seems to have been opened before and he just said 'no, you scratched it, it's a damaged item, I won't exchange it' at this point my patience is almost gone so I called Best Buy instead and bestbuy sent me a new one delivered straight to my house. This manager needs to be retrained. Wasted my time as a customer. read more

Geek Squad saved the day. I purchased an Apple product last summer and made sure to get the AppleCare coverage. I knew at some point I'd need it. When the time came, I was at ease knowing that I could bring it in to Best Buy and have Geek Squad take care of any issues. Not being fully aware of the fine print, I wasn't sure there would be a fee for services or for a replacement product. During my initial dealing with GS, I was told I could get the item replaced and pay the $99 fee or I could try taking it to the Apple Store. At the time it appeared that my product needed to be replaced. I didn't jump on paying the fee so left w/ my product. I then tried to set up an appointment with Apple, but that didn't go well with my schedule so waited to bring the product back into Best Buy. This time the GS tech looked at it, asked a few questions and then explained what they would do to try and fix it. Apparently they believed it was a repair, not a replacement. I went ahead and left it. A few hours later I received the email that it was ready for pickup. They use an appointment system for pick up which was convenient. The next day I was able to get my product and given all the details of the plan, what's covered and also given direction on what to do next time something happens to my Apple product. I left with the repaired product and no money out of my pocket. Very nice service indeed. read more

Worst best buy in the bay area. However, Customer service can be improved (and the manager should be replaced for doing such a bad job). Magnolia is the worst part of it. They want to take your money but they don't want to give it back. I was insulted by the manager for returning a receiver that I didn't like. When doing the audition over there, the receiver sounded good. When I bring it home, it's totally different and not up to my taste. It could be my speakers but the old receiver worked fine (or better than the one I returned). I was a tad mad but I guess they don't care at all. I will never buy anything @ that magnolia ever again. I walked in and treated myself to an impulse buy. I bought $800 worth of Apple Junk. And I'm very happy with all of it. I had a short conversation with the sales person about getting a SIM card. I'm pretty sure I said something like, "I'm a Verizon customer. So...whatever it takes to make that work." I imagined popping the card in, logging on to Verizon wireless and clicking a few buttons and having it all "just work". I am guilty of being ignorant of a few things. I'm guilty of being a bit impulsive and not taking care to check things out thoroughly. But after all, I was about to go home and play with my new gee-wizz ipad (And still, it's great.) Only after getting home did I realize I'd gotten an ATT SIM card. "No big deal", I thought to myself, "we can straighten this out easily enough." I should mention that at this point, I'd taken the SIM card out of its packaging. WHY?! Well, did I say something about "ignorance". I thought, surely there's just a few bytes encoded on this card. I bet the telcos have a way of using each others' cards and hey, I'll try. Why not? (We'll find out why not shortly.) "Surely this $0.05 piece of plastic I popped out of this other piece of plastic is not even a factor here." I went to my Verizon store, (was treated very well), got the right SIM card and was on my way. Right after that, I went back to Best Buy and discovered... Best Buy would rather anger a customer and have him rant on Yelp, costing the company who-knows-how-much money than eat the cost of a five dollar SIM card. I probably won't shop at Best Buy again until after it gets acquired by Amazon. Hang on to that $5. You're going to need it. read more

Terrible apple certified iphone support. Don't bother bringing your phone here, totally incompetent to do basic paper work or battery replacement. Slow check in service even with an appointment, terrible communication when battery change was done. When I checked my phone the battery was obviously not seated right, the screen had visible stress point and the case wasn't sealed right. It was also way to hot when charging too. Took the phone back to Best Buy to fix this error and they refused to even look at it. They said "That phone has serious issues before we serviced it, it had an after market screen. These things happen with battery replacement." I am a Best Buy member, so much for my tech support! My phone did have a screen replacement a few years ago, but it looks cosmetically perfect and functions like new. I took the phone back to the small, but not apple certified, store that did the screen replacement. They popped the case, saw a that screw that is supposed to hold the battery wasn't screwed down. They tightened the screw, put case back and phone is perfect again. 10 min job for them as it should have been in the first place! read more

In general, I've not had problems with Best Buy, however today was a different story. I came in to purchase a MacBook Air. There were no sales people to be found around the Apple section. I approached the Customer Service desk and explained that I had found a price match for $100 cheaper than Best Buy's lowest, as well an additional student discount coupon $100. The employee said the two discounts COULD be used. She entered the price match, got the laptop from the back, and then attempted to enter the college discount coupon which did not go through. She consulted with the customer service supervisor who didn't bother to explain anything to us. She delivered the info and I explained that I would purchase the device elsewhere. I also tried to get the price that was offered earlier in the week but that's no longer available because of Best Buy's asinine price fluctuations. I went home and began researching Best Buy's price matching policy online which mentioned nothing about the prohibition against using coupons. I called Best Buy for clarification and spoke to the Customer Service supervisor who was rather unpleasant and unwilling to help make the sale. He said that the coupon fine print spelled it all out, however having printed the document out, it says nothing about price matching. At any rate, Best Buy has lost the sale and my future business. I have no problem with policies but I do have a problem with being told that the sale would go through and then dealing with an unpleasant supervisor blocking said sale. read more

We bought a Insignia 6" Tripod at the Almaden Best Buy Saturday evening. After one use with our Sony A5100, the ball joint fell off.. I called this location (since we were in the area) to check if they'd accept the tripod without its original packaging. I had to call about three times before I was connected with an employee. The lady confirmed that I was able to return the tripod without its box as long as I had the receipt. Once we got to the Customer Service area, there were three employees standing around talking very poorly about a customer they had encountered on the phone. I understand how it is to work in customer service, however, it was very unprofessional to talk badly about a customer in front of OTHER customers. On the bright side, they accepted our broken tripod without a hassle. read more

I came to pick up a phone I preordered online. Since it was a launch day event it was expectedly very busy at this location. I was greeted and asked if I was there to pick up a phone to which I said yes. I was told to have a seat and someone would be with me, that's fine. After about 10-15 min I was told it was my turn and met with someone. After she saw that I had made my purchase from bestbuy.com I was told I would need to go to customer service. Wish someone had asked me about that before I waited but, okay. I went and picked up my phone, at least there was no line over at the customer service desk, then returned to the activation counter. The woman that had been helping me had disappeared. I was surprised she just decided she was done. I sat back down and waited. Another representative came and asked me if I was all set. I told her I would like help activating my new phone. She said ok and went grab something. When she returned she handed me a piece of paper and said I could just follow the instructions. Not what I was expecting when I asked for help since everyone else was getting personal attention. I'm not sure but I have a feeling that it was due to the fact that I had already made my purchase so there wasn't any incentive to help me. After I commented that I would try to do myself, my frustration obviously showing, the employee begrudgingly said she would help. Feeling off put I attempted to activate the phone myself but I didn't leave the store because I didn't want to leave with a brick. Half hour to an hour passed and I shopped for some other items but still couldn't get the phone to set up. Eventually the same employee returned to me and asked if I needed help with my purchases. I told her yes but that the phone was not setting up. She offered to help and I accepted her offer. Turns out there was some setting that even she couldn't get to work and had to call a employee help line. This eventually solved the problem. I could not have solved this problem myself and wasn't offered the help from the start that everyone else was getting. There is definitely some sort of division on which customers are worth employees time here but I can't exactly pin point where that may be. I will definitely be heading to a different location in the future. read more

Wow. Startlingly rude service manager at Best Buy. I spent all day waiting for a washer /dryer delivery--their driver showed up an hour late, refused to park in the loading zone in front of our building (he lied to the dispatcher, saying it was over a block and a half away) and is not able to pull into the driveway (where the much larger moving van parked when we moved in), and just drives off. The manager at Best Buy refused to address the problem, and hung up on me. This is hands-down the worst customer service experience I've ever had. read more

Never go to this Best Buy; action gm Alice completely useless. Even with receipt for return (2 days after purchase mind you) they refused to accept the return. Kept saying that I need to go back to the original location to return it since they normally don't carry the product. Kevin the supervisor was too busy listening to his head phones and didn't know what to do. They stated it was direct instructions from the GM Shane Ieans which shockingly wasn't available and on vacation. When i reached out to Best Buy elite support they also questioned why they were refusing to do the return, and they could only say they don't normally carry the item. (So I guess the Best Buy promise posted on their website and app is useless?) called the union city Best Buy and they not only apologized for how they handled everything but also assured me that they will take care of it. All the years I been going to Best Buy to support the box stores and not turning to amazon have I had to deal with this lack of customer service. They were too busy worried about chatting with one another then anything else. I'll look anywhere else moving forward than to come to this Best Buy again. Don't order anything from Best Buy that needs to be shipped. To save money they often use a company called On-Trac instead of reputable shippers like FedEx, UPS, or even USPS. On-Trac is a self-described "low cost" alternative shipper, but it has THE LOWEST POSSIBLE satisfaction rating (check Yelp). When your shipment is many days overdue (and find that On-Trac "customer service" is non-existent) you are stuck, since Best Buy policy REFUSES TO LET YOU CANCEL an order that's being shipped! Best Buy customer service says they "can't change company policy". Best Bet -- go elsewhere if you can't get it in their store; try Amazon for the same price and MUCH better delivery reliability. read more

I waited 5 min for some one to approach me and then asked an employee passing buy to help and they said " I'm on break go find some one else". Well I found someone and was told they would be right with me. I waited for 15-20 min and someone came up and stated he "knew a little about computers". I was trying to play with the Canon Rebel SL1 but it wasn't working and TIm got it to work for me to test out! Do not buy an appliance from Best Buy for delivery. They do not meet the delivery time even remotely. I have been waiting for the delivery of my new washing machine since 8:00 A.M. this morning and it is now 4:20 P.M. The washer was to be delivered between 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 P.M. No one called. I tried calling and was on a over 3 hour hold. I finally got someone at 4:15 and am now on hold again waiting to find out where the washer is. I had bought a samsung from them a year ago which turned out to be a possible bomb. I should have learned my lesson as that delivery was late by over 3 hours as well. DO NOT BUY from Best Buy with the expectation of getting delivery when agreed and scheduled. read more

After we tried, we found it does not have time stamp and sometimes can't zoom well (not clear), especially in the evening. Then I came back to the store, want to change to another one, then I was told I need to pay 15% restocking fee to return this one. They said this one has no defect at all! I don't know for a camera, if you can not get good pictures, what else should be a defect? I got upset in the store, I said "I'll never come to BestBuy and will tell all my friends about it." One guy said "yeah, sure, go ahead." Before I left, my mom told me the lady (Jennifer) put a finger behind my back. I dont know how BestBuy could let their employees to deal with customers like that. My parents don't want to waste my money, so they took the camera back. They will go back to China next week with the "GOOD" memory from those guys. This is where I go to shop for my gadget obsessed loved ones. Christmas shopping at Best Buy=happy faces on Christmas day. Sales associates are friendly here and provided great insight when mediating the great digital camera debate of 2010. Incidentally the sales associate was right and my little cousin loved her hot pink camera, girly colors do trump mega-pixels when you are a teenager! A new camcorder was a nice surprise for my cousin and her husband who were Hawaii bound after Christmas, and an itunes gift card brought a smile to my 20 year old cousin's face (and since he's 20 and too cool to smile these days, it was a bit like a peek of sunshine from behind the clouds)! I didn't go to the door buster sale, so I can't comment on any of that craziness. In general I think Best Buy has great prices and wonderfully patient sales associates, and I am most definitely a fan. read more

I recently ordered a dishwasher and it was scheduled to be delivered on Monday and I was to have received a phone call to confirm the time frame in which to expect it. I stayed home expecting delivery, finally called the store and was told that I had been rescheduled (with no notice to me whatsoever) for Friday. I was told to call the installation contractor, who told me to call the store. Called the store twice and was told "sorry" by two different employees. Tried going on the website to cancel the order and was sent to a survey, then finally signed on and the website couldn't bring up my order. I will never shop at Best Buy again. read more

So, against my better judgement, I want back to Best Buy to get a car stereo for my 2014 Corolla (pretty common car). I specifically told the guy in the stereo department that I wanted a stereo that was SiriusXM ready. Come to find out, the guy helping me didn't usually work that department. He helped me find a radio that was satellite ready and I bought it. They couldn't install it that day though, they were already booked. The scheduling system was glitchy as well so the installer would have to call me with an appointment. Ok ... fine. Well, few days later they called but couldn't get me in for two weeks. Not acceptable, but what am I going to do? I then get a call from the installer (Joseph, who is a great guy, btw) a few days before my appointment asking me if anyone ordered the parts to go with the stereo. I said no and then he had to cancel my appointment while the parts were on order. Ugh, really? Finally get the appointment THREE weeks after I bought the stereo, he installs it and all is good, so I thought. It turns out, I also needed a satellite receiver to actually get the satellite stations. WHAT?! No one told me that, nor did they sell me that part. Now I have to wait ANOTHER week for the install and pay another install fee. I have had trouble with this Best Buy in the past and I have to say, I will not be going back there to have anything installed. Joseph was really nice and helped me out best as he could but the whole process took a month. If you are looking to get a stereo installed that day, don't hold your breath. read more

The store is a big friggin' mess and the employees are hardly any help. I went in today and bought a Ninetendo DS XL, a few video games, some batteries and a sim card. It took me about 15 minutes to actually find what I was looking for... There were hardly any associates on the floor, so I'm not going to bomb them with my issues. What really bothered me was that when I went to pay with my credit card, I explained to the cashier that this would be my first time using the best buy credit card and I wasn't sure which benefit was better and she was such a jerk about it. I get it if there was a line of people, or I kept repeating the question, but it was really slow, no one was behind me and I felt that it was a valid question. I ended up making a impulse decision by getting the 5% option, so in the end, I hope it works out. Also, I had read that the sim card I purchased was 24$ and upon reading my statement at home, it was really 71$. WTF. read more

Other than that... the employees in the digi camera section weren't too helpful, they just seem to want to make a sale... and it didn't help that I was a dumb dumb in digi cams. However, you can find some of the general products at other places for much cheaper, like I got my Logitech cordless mouse @ Target for half the price.
