We got an insignia tv (their brand) 13 months ago. A manufacturing issue just came up and they want to charge more than 1/2 the tv cost to come look and repair, extra cost for parts! Yah, we get it we didn't buy the extended warranty but a brand YOU make and no discount or help- very very disappointed. Barely a year old and they don't care. Best Buy was our go-to for TVs. This store has done me wrong more than once. I don't know why I keep giving them a chance. They had Xbox game pass cards on the shelves and then refused to sell them at the price marked. They claimed they were supposed to be removed, but since they were not removed and ther were multiple cards, they should have honored the price. I went in yesterday to purchase a iMac. I already had my mind set no selling involved. My son an d I sat by the iMacs for 10 min a associate passed us three times without seeing if we needed help. Finally member of the Geek squad asked if we need assistance and said she would get someone. 15 mins later we were still sitting there. I asked another associate for help he said he would get someone. Waited 15 more min an associate came up but started assisting some kids looking for a watchband. Finally I went up to that same associated asked if he could help. He said he would be right with us. 15mins later we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. On the way out we saw the associate who said he'd be back shooting the sh with the front door people. Worst service ever!! You lost a big sale and a customer who will never buy anything from this location again. read more

If you have an Apple Phone issue just, just go to the Apple Store. They can't help you with anything especially if you have Apple Care. They are a waste of time, energy, and I can run a computer better than their Geek Squad. They advertise themselves as an Apple Store Hub, but they can only help you if you don't know how to restart your phone. Zero Stars for Best Buy, not the employees. Literally the only person in the building, walk back to the computer section looking for a computer monitor cable.... but i have a simple question.... 15 minutes later, nobody around so I walk back to the front door, same two girls just standing there... I ask if anyone is in the computer section and one says that she will call them over to me. Yet another 10 minutes, in an empty store and one of the two door girls comes back. I start asking my "Yes or No" question and she says... "I am not in sales but our sales guy just came in. You know, 30 minutes after the doors open. She doesn't have a clue about my easy question but she will send him over. Ten more minutes , back up front to the same two girls, getting nothing done and she motions to the door and says, "We are waiting for him." I leave in disbelief. Such an unpleasant experience. This is the third location I had to go to in order to get a phone upgrade. I come in and was told I have to wait. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come help because apparently the person working the phone carrier booths was outside doing who knows what. Guy came over and sent me directly to someone else. Told by the other guy I needed an appointment and I can't just directly buy the phone I wanted. I called here prior to coming to make sure I can get the phone and they said I could, no mention of making an appointment. This was absolutely ridiculous! If you're looking to upgrade your phone, make an appointment because they won't tell you that you need one unless you're physically in the store! Also, you may be waiting forever as well. read more

I do not know how this place stays in business. I was told wrong information about a return by Cynthia and Cater who are the store managers. They told me that if I called Best Buy Corpotate and got an approval for a return they would accept my return. After 45 minutes speaking with customer service I took my phone back into the store so Best Buy Corporate could speak to them about approving the return and the General Manager Jody Johnson STILL refused. I had a death in the family and explained that to her multiple times and she still would not even give me a store credit. Now I'm out over $200. Never again! Ordered the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 arcade1up released on Tuesday. Worked late Tuesday so had to wait an extra day. I got off today (Wednesday) and GPS said I'd get there at 7:01pm. I'm 35 minutes away so I figured I'd call and ask if it would be okay if I could run in a minute after to grab it. After a ridiculously long hold time (I called on my personal phone and work phone ringing at the same time) the employee said I could not get my order after 7:00pm. Seriously because of 1 minute? It's f*cking paid for and I got off work as soon as I could you really can't help me out with a minute? He then stated they'd be back open at 10:00am I work 9am to 6pm or later some days, how am I supposed to get my damn package let alone not help me out because of 60 seconds....I do not recommend Best Buy to anyone. Horrible customer service, have to wait 30+ minutes to even get a hold of someone, and because of some jackass employee I couldn't walk in at 7:01 to grab something I already paid for, it wasn't like I was coming in to shop and look around. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Look at all the other 1 stars, I don't even write reviews but I made sure to take my time out of the day for everyone to see the complete lack of customer service. read more

That promise time came and went...called again, received another date of 2/22...complained louder! Received another date after customer representative hang up of 2/19. I have been trying to speak to a live person for 1.5 hours I had a scheduled appointment today with Geek Squad to come to my home. They did not show up no call and someone cancelled the appointment. I am still on hold trying to speak to a live person to find out why the appointment was cancelled. This is a nightmare run fast and do not look back. I wish I had never dealt with them at all. Unreal. Went to Best Buy today to purchase a 32' TV for my mother in-law. The trick was going to find a TV that would fit into an existing cabinet. We were also going to update her TV programing with Directv Now and use the Amazon fire sticks as the source for the 3 TV's in her home. After discussing what we were looking for with the TV sales person he agreed that this was a good move and that a lot of people are doing the same thing. Unfortunately, we could not find a TV that was in stock that would fit in the cabinet and we decided to hold off on the television but to purchase 3 of the Amazon fire sticks. Shook the hands of the salesperson went to the front desk to complete our purchase. This is where it gets interesting...A manager decided that we were to much of a risk and would not allowed us to purchase more than two Amazon fire sticks due to fraud issues. The manager would not speak to us but you could hear them speaking to the cashier through the earpiece. I wanted to have a better explanation, and was told that it was a store policy. Oh, well. Terrible service!! I was looking to purchase a monitor and the equipment to hook up 3 monitors. Apparently staff doesn't know how to do that so I was sent to a unorganized long line for Geek Squad. There should be a line for appointments and walk ins but for some reason they have a table blocking the walk in line. As I stood in the appointment line I thought I'd make a appointment on my phone. This was a Saturday and nothing was available until Monday! I walked out as the line didn't move at all. Staff should know how to answer questions and what aisle to send you to! I use one standard when I rate a company. That standard is customer service. The Geek Squad Has possible the worse phone customer service i have ever felt with. I was on hold for over 10 minutes. I was forwarded to a different store. When I said I needed the Geek Squad in Oswego I was sent back. Then after 5 more minutes I was simply disconnected. No call back! I tried calling back again and was hold for 10 minutes again before I was transferred again to another store! This is simply NOT expectable. This is a staffing issue. It is also run like a typical "Geek" company. Customer service does not seem to be a priority. I have 2 computers in for repair and I am now on my way to pick me up. I will not authorize and repair and will NOT pay for the check up. This is a terrible company! I have used them in he past and have had the same terrible customer service when I tried to call. I will say this. They did deserve the 1 star, because when I dropped them off the young lady that helped me was very nice. Maybe even 1.5 stars because of that. She was so nice she sold me on a protection plan that I don't need or want anymore, because I would not let them work on my computers for free! So I will be getting That money back today. read more

Purchased a laptop at the Oswego store. Asked how much to transfer data from our old computer. We were pressure to buy the $200 service agreement. The geek squad sales agent said it would take 2 to 3 days. Never heard anything for 8 days wife called they said they had texted her which was not true. They then tell her it will be ready at 11:45am Friday. When she arrived at the scheduled time they informed her it was not ready to go home and they will call. We live 40 miles from the store so not convenient at all. contacted a manager who was not much help said he would take $50 off of our purchase. 3 hours later she received the computer. We will be contacting customer care and headquarters to see if they can get this store some training in customer service. read more

This place used to have employees who were helpful and knowledgeable. It's unfortunate that they now have individual's that seem so interested in helping you, until you actually ask for help. Then you will stand in line for 30 minutes to have a replacement screen protector installed on your phone. We have had this done to my daughters phone a number of times, and we were able to walk out of the store in a matter of minutes. I understand that good help is difficult to find now, but I will be taking all of my cell phone business straight to Verizon from now on. read more

This location is not very good with customer service. The lines for most services are extremely long waits. Most of the time it seems the store is understaffed. Im not sure that Bed Buy is as big on customer service as it use to be. Everytime I buy a warranty on a product the price has increased. Horrible Best Buy store for customer service since we moved to this area back in 2004. The store workers are always rude and never know anything about the items they are selling. They are always out of stock of all things and their Geek Squad service is horrible. I recently dropped my Dre Beat headphones off for service and they returned them to me saying they were fixed. Now a week later they are doing the same thing they were doing before I sent them in there for repair. They claim it's because it's an "Apple warranty", so they can't replace them, but only try and fix them. The store manager was very rude when I picked them up and I told him I'd be back if they weren't fixed! So now today I have to go back and send them out again for another 2 week bs repair job. If you're gonna buy anything Apple, I suggest going thru the Apple store in Naperville or just buying online, I think it would better than dealing with this Oswego Best Buy store. We've also learned to just not shop at this store location and go to Geneva's or Naperville Best Buy location, they are always more helpful. read more

I ran in to get COD WWII (it pays to have the 20% gaming discount!) and have the rewards to get the gift certificates . Got a random email with a mystery gift certificate woop woop! Was a new store to me and I didn't know where the sept was so someone gladly helped me to the right direction. Grabbed the game and made my way to the checkout with no line.....The cashier was super friendly and had started playing the game and gave me a few tips which was super awesome. All of the associates I ran into were very helpful and nice and the store was clean. It makes my shopping experience better when someone is pleasant and they definitely were. read more

I went in to buy a car stereo/install/all the necessary accessories as a gift. The employees were nice, although it took a really, really long time to find any of them who could help. All the waiting *seemed* worth it for the price and the knowledge of the Geek Squad to order all the parts I needed for the install. When we went in for the scheduled install today and finally found an employee to check us in, they were rude because we were late (not the case, we had to spend a while looking for a single available employee to help) and then were told it couldn't be installed because the mounting kit hadn't been ordered. What's the point of a Geek Squad if they aren't knowledgeable enough to help you order what you need and aren't available when you arrive? read more

Do not go to this Best Buy for Geek Squad service. It took them 4 days to diagnose a laptop and external drive for hardware errors -- and they never diagnosed the external drive. They told me they just checked to make sure the external drive "was there" as they were handing it back to me! Couldn't get anyone on the phone without a struggle, couldn't get any answers, had to sign a paper that "repairs were completed" (no repairs were requested) and now the external drive won't connect and my backup process won't run. I went there just to be sure nothing was wrong after laptop was subjected to a car accident - and they broke it! Terrible experience in all possible ways. read more
