When I drove into the plaza I noticed the familiar building and gave it an afterthought. I'd be back to visit it on my way out. When I parked and went inside I didn't know what to expect, but it surely wasn't this. I was expecting at least some order, but no. Think of this place as your open box destination. Basically, anything that has even been returned to a Best Buy ended up here. From appliances to television, laptops to desktops, tablets to sound bars. And anything in between. Looking for a deal on a 75" television, you might just be lucky here. Need a MacBook, they got you covered. However, if you want to pick up a game for your system, this is not the place. I was approached once while I was browsing the televisions and I had asked about this place. The associate told me what the jest was and I told her that I was sorry that this store was now an outlet. She chuckled and thanked me for my concern. I spent a lot of time at the tablet/laptop section. It is hard to browse this section since it is in cages. After a while I just gave up on this. I did end up purchasing, but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was. I do remember that the lines were crazy and no one could figure out what line to be in. I ordered 3 high end Sony TVs for installation on March 20. I then had not one but two installation appointments cancelled on the day they were scheduled, after I was at home for the appointments that were confirmed the night before. Both times, the only notification I received was a text message telling me, "it's time to schedule your installation." After, I was at home, waiting for the Geek Squad to arrive! They simply cancelled my appointments after confirming they would be there. Trying to get information on what was going on is nearly impossible. I got caught in 'robo-chat hell' with no ability to talk with anyone at the store I purchased from. This store has the absolutely worst customer service. The employees are beyond rude, dismissive, and not helpful at all. I worked in customer service for 15 years, and I never treated a customer the way that these people do. They have the nastiest attitudes. No matter what time of the day you go in. I purposely now go to the Annapolis store, because the employees there are far friendlier and actual professionals. I even mentioned my experiences to an employee there and they say they always get complaints about the Bowie store. As I took a couple minutes to browse the phone cases an officer comes up to me and said the store wanted me to check you for stolen cases... No criminal background, yet I'm in the security office of the store getting patted down and pockets emptied to find nothing on me. Ended up leaving the store because I did not want to spend my money there and bought the wifi extender elsewhere. Yes I am a college educated black male with a career. Went to this location around 7pm on a Saturday evening, while the store closing time posted was 9pm. My mom and I specifiaclly went there to purchase a new computer system and was helped by a nice but pushy gentleman. My mother explained to him what she was looking for and that she already had a best buy credit card and was willing to use it... He advised her that even though she already had the card, that she should also apply for the best buy visa. She was hesitant but did anyway to recieve the discount and she was approved for $4000.00. At this point he then tried to sell her all kinds of warrenties and additional add-ons for the computer. When she declined he turned to me (I was there to purchase a new phone) and asked me to apply. I too had a best buy credit card so i declined. He then tried to sell us a gaming computer because he heard me talking aboit my 14 yr old. I declined on that also... It was about 830 and the lights began to shut off (unprofessional) and because the guy was trying to sell us the entire store we hadnt even purchased the computer or got to look at the phones. Around 845 we had completed our computer sale and began to look at the phones. We were told that since we were in the store we could go ahead and check out the phones. Around 850 a manager came over and told us the store was closed and we needed to leave, as i saw him tell all the other customers as well. In my opinion, the entire experience was unprofessional! We were heckled, upsold, and then rushed out even though we were still planning on spending money there! Needless to say, I didnt get my phone. My mom also had to set up automatic payments to come out her account because what the guy didnt tell her was that if she used her card for her purchase, and payments werent made on the card on the same day every month that her interest rate would go up to a whopping 27%! Do not bring your electronics to the Geek Squad at this location. Here's my cautionary tale. My computer was working before I brought it in to Geek Squad at the Bowie Best Buy. All the tech had to do was install the 64 gb of ram that I bought. When I dropped it off, the woman I checked in with said they would call me if the ram wasn't compatible. I got an email and text that the job was completed. When I went to pick it up, she told me they couldn't do the installation because the ram was too big. No one called and the message sent stated the job was completed. I fussed with her about it, then dropped it. I asked, since I got the wrong ram, if she or a tech could help me find the right ram that's compatible with my computer. She told me to just go to the computer manufacturer's website and put in my model number to get the right ram. (There's great customer service for you.) The woman had the nerve to ask me to do her a favor and give her 10s on a satisfactory survey, despite me leaving unhappy. I got home and tried to power up my PC. It flickers without booting up. I use this computer for my video production business. Now, my PC is at the Geek Squad in Annapolis, which is running diagnostics to see why it won't turn on. When I raised this issue with the Geek Squad manager at the Bowie Best Buy, he said he was taking the word of his techs over mine despite my order ticket stating that the machine turned on and booted into the operating system before the tech attempted to install the ram. He asked why I didn't bring the computer back to them. I said I didn't trust his techs. He said well you brought it in for something you obviously couldn't do yourself. That comment is odd since I'm paying for a service to do that. While filing my complaint with the Better Business Bureau, one question that came up was about my desired resolution. I have two: 1) The Bowie Geek Squad admits that they screwed up instead of trying to cover up what happened. 2) If the Annapolis Geek Squad can't fix my computer and they find any damage caused by the Bowie folks, the latter should cover my repair and shipping if I have to send it back to the manufacturer and my warranty is up. I'm never going to this store again. It's 12 minutes from my house, but I'm willing to drive 45 minutes to the Best Buy in Annapolis for my future Geek Squad services. UPDATE: I ended up taking my computer to the Geek Squad in Annapolis. They were professional and fixed the issue caused by the Bowie Geek Squad team. The Annapolis team also went so far as to look up the sku number for the correct ram, but I beat them to the punch. They installed my ram when I found the right one. They went above and beyond what the Bowie Geek Squad team did. I'm taking my computer to the. EST Buy in Annapolis from now on. read more

You know that saying bad news travels fast? Well bad reviews of places get written with the quickness. This place was horrible on the customer service level. I walked around for 20 minutes and I eventually found what I was looking for but I was curious if any of the Best Buy employees who saw me and made direct eye contact with me would offer help. I guess they were too busy and intrigued by what was going on in their huddle as they all looked at their cell phones. I found what I was looking for but there were only two of the items and each one of a different design. At this point there is no way I wanted to be a shopper here. If this is how customer service is going to be then I see why it is just better to stay at home and shop online as the employees seem to avoid all human contact at all costs. I went in to physically see the item because Best Buy is one of the retailers for this particular item but I am regretting coming in. There seriously needs to be some retraining or just hire people who care as I saw one of the employees wearing Beats by Dre earphones as he was putting items on the shelves. Purchased 2 laptops and total protection plan, due to Best Buy's data breach I got hacked. After 2 days of calling I finally got an appointment 3 days later dropped my laptop off and asked to be called if they needed a flash drive or external hard drive to put my info on, no call went to the store, no one in sight was told all the employees quit, can't get my computer back because geek squad doesn't come in till the afternoon, went up a second time no employees to be found, watched a guy shop lifting, finally found an employee gave me a managers number to call, 2 days of texts, finally the computer is ready the fixed it the very day I was coming to get it back, be ready in an hour, 9 minutes later it's ready, picked it up voices my concerns the A'hole manager doesn't care says I was never there twice and no one quit, they always have PD there. Get the computer home it is not fixed. Call back to get it fixed, 3 weeks for next appt, took the computer to another shop it's fixed found out Best Buy did nothing more than run a virus scan. The private shop fixed what they can't and they see a lot of Best Buy customers. Wouldn't recommend Best Buy geek squad to pick up dog crap from the yard. AVOID THIS STORE ... read more

I am very disappointed with the Bowie Best Buy/Geek Squad. I purchased a 85" TV from Best - paid over 1800.00 for the TV and mount Informed that they would deliver both - the mount came on Saturday, June 6, 2020 and the TV was to be delivered on June 11, 2020 between the window of 7am-1pm. I had someone to wait at my house to receive the delivery of the TV- I phoned Best Buy/Geek Squad - confirmed my time - after my time came and past at almost 3pm - I spoke with someone who stated that my delivery had been rescheduled. I asked the guy how come I didn't receive an email or phone call regarding the reschedule and he stated "maybe the system had a glitch" WOW - is this how Best Buy treating their customers now- I replied there was no glitch when they got payment. I tried getting through to Best Buy - on hold sooooo long and also, tried the Geek Squad - when I tried to get information as to why my TV delivery was rescheduled - the Geek Squad guy said since the order was canceled he couldn't tell me what happened. I am so upset with Best Buy- This was a gift for my very special husband for father's Day- The customer service is very poor and unprofessional. Literally... The worst customer service! I have had many problems here but today takes the cake! Went online and purchased an Xbox and a video game and I selected in store pick up. That was around 12 pm. I get to the store around 5:30 pm to find out that they never processed my order. The clerk told me to come back the next day. Interesting enough the Xbox I reserved was sitting in a display in front of me with 30 other ones. And the video game was sitting in the display case, so I asked her if I grabbed the items can you just process my order? She says no.... And that I will need to cancel my order and grab the items and re purchase them. So I had to spend $500 instead of $250 ALLLLL because they were to lazy to process my order 4 hours prior. I have to say that I have had some good experiences at this store but honestly it's hit or miss...and today was definitely a miss. My boyfriend purchased a remote start system for my car and we had an appointment to have it installed today. I was really excited because this is my Christmas present from him and I have never had a remote start system so I was also excited about being able to warm my car before I get in it. Anyway, the tech that was scheduled to do the install did not show up for work. We were told that we cannot get it installed until January 24th. Seriously?! More than a month away? Meh. I've been here several times and only walked out with a purchase once. This location isn't great. The staff isn't really helpful and it's pretty small. There isn't a great selection of items. I've gone on headphones hunt a couple times here and basically outside of Beats headphones (which suck) there isn't much. They didn't have Nike Fuel bands in stock when I went to get mine (though the 800 number claimed other locations did) but they did have a Yonanas machine. Too bad all but one had been opened and returned. I took that one and decided this Best Buy is a waste of time after that. If you want something specific or uncommon, they'll just try and get it ordered to them from a different store. The staff act like they're bored and don't want to be there. One employee decided to put Drumline on one of the big screen home theaters. Of course, a crowd began to form (what the staffer wanted) and people asked questions. What does the manager do? This review is mostly for the company Best Buy contracts with for appliance delivery... nevertheless, our experience with this Best Buy, their delivery service, and even Geek Squad/customer service has been absolutely awful. We ordered a stackable, front-loading washer/dryer set from the Bowie store. The employee who helped us at the store was decent enough; however, our experience quickly went downhill from there. We requested our delivery date, and as per usual, the delivery men arrived late. But we're talking an hour and a half outside the window. Next, when they did arrive, my fiance found that the washer's sides were completely smashed in from the clamps. The delivery guys then said customer service would call us right away to reschedule our appointment to resolve the issue, and, you know, deliver a normal-looking washer. So, okay, stuff happens, but following that, we didn't receive a call from customer service. We then proceeded to call Geek Squad/customer service many times, each time being on hold 15-20 minutes without speaking to anyone. Gave up and tried the next day. When my fiance finally got through, it seemed we had been automatically rescheduled for the following Monday from 2-4 pm. Great. Thing is, we both work, and a heads up would've been nice. Right? So he talks with a lady and gets it rescheduled to a time we can actually make. No apologies. Overall, piss poor customer service. When the delivery guys arrive for the next appointment, of course, very late, they measure our closet and deduce that the depth is too short. Which is our oversight, I admit. So we arrange to purchase a different set. No one has the freaking stacking kit, so we pay an additional XX amount of money on Amazon to get them rush shipped to make the next appointment window, Thursday 3-5 pm. They do not show. No call/explanation. Fiance calls about status. Customer service cannot reach the drivers or the store. Finally, we are told that they are coming tomorrow, 11-3. Expanding their delivery window. So, you know, it'll arrive by 6 pm. If not, we are canceling our order. Long story long, look elsewhere for appliances, unless you want to have customer service on speed dial, waste your time, and add unnecessary stress to an already stressful process (i.e., moving). read more

Sadly , the customer service here is so lacking . I went in Saturday looking for a convection toaster oven. Walked in two guys at the front entrance, they didn't look over or say anything, I walked in about 5 feet , turned around and asked him where I can find them . He points to the back right of store and says " there back there ", I walk back, see a couple items but the website showed they had so many to choose from but not there, at least not in sight. Here we go again . She points to the left of the store. I walk over there , lots of employees standing around but nobody in the store . I didn't see the item I wanted and once again not a single person to help me . I decided to just leave, I get up to the doors, the girl literally looks at me and doesn't say a single word and puts her head back down on her device. I left and went next door to Bed Bath and Beyond. Super nice greeter at BB&B door, a young girl, using her computer but she greets me and asks to help . I told her what I was looking for, points me in the direction. They had a better selection but still not the one I was looking for. I'm walking back out and she asked me what happened. Told her I didn't see what I wanted . She immediately suggested to get someone to help me and they can order it. She was so nice !! I ordered my new oven from Bed Bath and Beyond because they actually gave a S%^* about my business . Best Buy probably won't be around in a couple more years if they continue to allow their employees to show up at work and simply collect a pay check but do nothing to earn it . Best Buy as a chain has a lot going for it such as great prices and wide selection of high quality goods. However, this Bowie location is absolutely the worst in terms of customer service. Time and again I've had to wait a very long time in the check out line not because of a crowd of customers, but because of an insufficient number of cashiers to move things along. Finally, I'd had it when trying to check out with an armful of items, the lone cashier wandered off to do something else with the stock; he indicated I needed to go to customer service to pay for my items. Then the customer service lady refused to do it and referred me back to the cashier who refused to service me in the first place. They both stood there staring each other down as to whose job it was to ring up the sale. I put the items down and walked out. That was it! I'll never go there again. Try the Best Buy in Annapolis. We could tell that people were working with other customers but not once did we get eye contact or ma'am/sir I'll be with you in just one moment.
