They told me I had to bring it in to a store whenever they reopened. I called July 4th weekend, my Total Tech Support subscription ended in June, and they want another $199 for another year subscription even though they were not providing support when my subscription was active. I cosigned for a friend to purchase his TV at the Magnolia TV center inside the Best Buy in Pasadena. Despite the fact that we repeatedly told them that the TV should be delivered on Friday afternoon at my friend's address, they brought the TV to my place on Thursday morning, wth???? The employees were SOOOO nice I had to leave a review!!! Usually I get spit on everywhere I go (metaphorically) because of my MAGA mask, but I was walking down an aisle with my 78-year old companion that I take care of, and 2 geeks were talking (employees lmfao) and one of them started slowly walking backwards towards us and kept going and the other employee was like "don't walk back any farther!" but not being a dick, still super calm and collected. Obviously looking out for us and especially the elderly lady I was with. Then we went to the Returns counter and the guy with the hair (manager, if you're reading this you know who I meant) was SOOOOOOOOOO bubbly and was joking around with us. His personality was AWESOME. You don't even run into that at all anymore in LA. Then the lady at the exit smiled and said goodbye in a genuine, warm way. I'm just mind-blown. Retail can be a thank-less job. I understand cause I've worked in retail before. So I can usually let slow or incompetent service slide a little. With that being said, I haven't had a negative experience here at the Pasadena Best Buy. Most of the employees I've come across are pretty helpful and they do greet people at the door. They don't seem like they're annoyed or bothered. Sure I've had two or three instances where it might have been an off day, but like I said I can usually let that slide. I haven't purchased anything monumentally expensive like a fridge or a tv, but I've bought a printer, a WACOM tablet, and some Blu Rays here and I've been treated with decent customer care. I've also had by laptop come in for a quick fix/tune-up at Geek Squad and it was completely fine. It's really not so bad. read more

Went on a Wednesday afternoon-evening because I needed a laptop for class since my last one broke (it's a total nightmare when you're a college student, lost all your work suddenly, and now you have online class and an online exam the next day with no way to do it). Since everything is online, I really needed a laptop and was going to buy one today. *WAS* I gave 2 stars because the people at the front were very organized and nice and the first guy who helped me out (I believe he was on a scooter) was very kind, very professional, and extremely helpful. I'm not a computer wizard-- I only know if I touch the laptop and I feel comfortable with it, then it's almost an insta-buy; of course you can't buy a laptop based solely on feel since laptops have different specs and components to them. I let him know I wanted to look around a bit more and play with the laptop model he recommended and compare it with other laptops, he said I could take my time and just flag him down when I'm ready or have any questions. A good 15 minutes later, I found a laptop that I really wanted and wanted to buy it on the spot -- but all the employees were busy and helping another customer. I understand and I waited about 10-15 more minutes before trying to actively look for someone; there was a lady at the register in the computer section. I said to her "Excuse me, can I get someone to help me for a laptop purchase?" And she told me "Did you put your name down on a list outside" and I said "Yes, but--" and she proceeded to say "Ok so they're going down a list, just wait there and someone will be there" in a way where I perceived it as a bit rude; she just looks away promptly elsewhere and I have no room for questions or explaining to her. In her defense she had one customer who had looked to still be thinking about making a purchase-- you could have said you'll be with me shortly or if I had been helped, don't tell me to wait more when I've been waiting for 30+ minutes (this isn't including the 10 minutes I had to wait for someone to come approach me when I entered the store and was sent to the computer section). Also, I was already "helped" before but I was given time to think about making a purchase (rather than just act on desperation and impulse), so what does that mean for me? If my name was already "crossed-out" and they were going down a list-- wouldn't that mean I wouldn't be helped anymore? How much more time am I going to waste waiting? How would you know if I'll be helped again? Welp. I want you guys to know that the laptop I wanted to purchase was $699.99 + tax + the additional warranty I would have bought with it. Amazon sells the same model for $599.99! The only reason I didn't go buy it from Amazon first was because I NEEDED the laptop as soon as possible but I wanted to see if typing on the laptop was comfortable for me-- I'm not waiting 2-5 business days for it. But I guess I am now! It doesn't make sense to pay $100 more for bad service and a long wait time AND not to mention Best Buy only has a 2-week window frame to return the item (Amazon has 30 days); 2-weeks is not enough time to determine things such as if your computer has defects that aren't apparent at first (my first laptop had keyboard response issues and it wasn't apparent until a month in). At least when I buy from Amazon, I can wait at home. read more

This is the nearest location to my house. I also love this location because it's also next to my other fav stores like Ulta, Ross, and Nordstorm Rack. This location is in a busy shopping center, so it's always a bit hard finding parking on the weekend. My experience at best buy was good. I was greeted immediately when I walked in. The staff will ask if you need help if you look like you're lost. They will still check in if you are examining a product. They were quite helpful and attentive. The check out line was not too busy today. The cashier asked if we wanted to sign up for a credit card to receive a 20% discount but I didn't want to run my credit since I didn't shop enough at best buy. Tip: return policy is only 15 days. So if you are unhappy with your product, don't forget to return ASAP. read more

I came here today to do a simple return. something that should take no more than 5 minutes ended up wasting 20 minutes of my time because of incompetent staff. Arrived to the return line with 2 people ahead of me. While I was there, i observed a female asian staff member fooling around on a motorized lift nearby. The person in front of me was there to return a TV. He did not have the power cable, stand, and other missing items.. causing the return line to be backed up with 4+ people waiting. Within the first 2 minutes, i asked the female asian staff member in the returns section that was fumbling back n forth with the tv; "is there another line for returns? i just need to return this" "No!" she says, "this is the only place to do it" 5 minutes turns to 10, 10 to 15, 15 to 20. 20 minutes later, a girl from the front comes n saves the return line and simply says "oh yes, we can return your item up here" * boom * i'm out in 30 seconds. This best buy has some of the worst staff members, especially the people in the return area. They are completely untrained, slow, impolite, and unprofessional. I wonder how many hours a day of peoples time are wasted here because they are so incompetent? I only come to this location because it's the one nearest me, but somehow, it's always the slowest n worst one. It's like being at the DMV, and it's horrible. read more

Very bad customer service. Went into store and purchased a dryer. Salesmen Robert didn't disclosed a necessary install compliance for new appliances which is a Ball Valve....older homes have Spring values to turn gas on and off. The day of delivery dispatched informed me of this new law and informed me that the vent kit was mistakenly not ordered so they would not be able to install the dryer the same day. This was very inconvenient for us as we now were without a dryer for over a week. No compensation for their mistakes was given. My husband decided to just cancel the order. We brought our dryer at HomeDepot instead what a difference in service. The salesperson was will informed of everything we would need to install and when we brought the 5 yr warranty she credit the haul away, install. and vent kit.... and gave us a 10%discount. WOW for now on it's HomeDepot for our family. read more

Incredibly easy to recycle e-waste here! There are some limitations, such as they only accept three items per day, but you don't even have to stand in line, you can just place your unwanted electronics on a rack just inside and go! Never thought I'd ever have to write a bad review for a Best Buy, but I would never recommend anyone come to this location. I came on a Sunday afternoon with a friend to look at Switch games. I didn't see the one I wanted in their very disorganized display case, so I moved over one aisle to look at the PS4 Pro instead, as I've been thinking about upgrading. As my girl friend and I were looking through the PS4 section, I noticed an employee appear out of nowhere and consistently hover near us. At first I thought he was going to ask us if we needed help, but nope, as we moved from the PS4 section to the Xbox aisle, and then eventually to the movies section, he continually (and very obviously) followed us around. I quickly realized that Loss Prevention had dispatched an employee to follow us around and make sure we weren't stealing? I've never been so offended. Just because I was wearing a coat since it was raining out, doesn't meant that I'm somehow going to hide a big and bulky PS4 Pro under it. No one else near us received this type of treatment. The employee eventually backed off as we moved away from the games and movies cases and headed toward the appliances section. Overall, can't recommend this Best Buy. I'd rather drive further out to go to West Covina where customer service has always been superb and where they DON'T follow you around and ostracize you as some type of criminal. read more

This is to Jason sales floor manager. Not only he doesn't know what customer service is, he doesn't know his own store policies. I wanted to return a computer that I purchased and he didn't want to take it back. I was an elite plus member during the purchase and I was told that the return would be 45 days. I am returning the computer on 36th day. I was downgraded from elite plus to elite member during 36 day which I didn't know and it doesn't matter. He said if he doesn't want to honor it he doesn't need to take it back. I called in customer service and talked to account specialist. They said if during the purchase I was elite plus they have to honor it. So they asked if he could talk to them on the phone. He refused to talk to them. The account specialist called the supervisor and the supervisor on the phone asked to talk to him - he refused and he didn't want to give his information to his own supervisor on the line. Then he just rub off and didn't even want to talk to us because he knew he was wrong. A different manager came in and accepted the return. We spent one hour in the store making a return and calling supervisors and playing hide and seek with Jason since he was avoiding us. Very rude of him and I work as a manager as well in retail and I don't understand how Jason could work as a manager or even as a worker with such awful customer service skills and low knowledge of his policies and behaving like a child. The supervisor on the phone said that she will write a complaint to this store about Jason. I would make sure I never come back to this store and tell everyone about this awful experience on my YouTube channel and other social media. If you want to purchase or return anything from Best Buy, avoid this store like a plague. At the end Jason came back didn't apologize and took the computer. -- soooo rude. I asked he would apologize he said what for. So after that he gave us less in return so we had to wait 1hour more so they could adjust the right amount. Omg this is worst store I ever have been too!!! I waisted more than 2 hours retuning the computer because of Jason. Since Jason was on the sales floor he don't even want to make a return so a different guy Anthony came in and made a correct return. He was avoiding us again at the end. We waited for very long time. Adding insult to an already pathetic IVR system, I tried calling to speak to a manager twice and sat on hold for 19 and 14 minutes respectively before getting cut off. Oh, and this was a frantic effort to get an iPhone screen repaired after the Atwater location mislead me on whether or not they had the part and I had shown up for an appointment at 2:30. The phone and online chat service offered by Geek Squad is much to be desired. You are told the wait-time is 5 to 8 minutes. Actually ended up being 45 minutes! Problem not solved. Called again and left a telephone number for a call back. Waited 3-hours and no call back. Asked to speak with a supervisor on my third attempt... no call back. All these calls got routed to Columbia. Verdict: Paying an extra fee for online support by Geek Squad is definitely not worth it. read more

So, in Nov of 2020, I purchased a new Samsung phone. By February 2021, calls were dropping, app's crashing, phone not charging. So, I went to the Geek Squad and I was told I had to pay $99.00 restocking fee. Fine. The Best Buy Rep told me it was better to get my new phone via Best Buy, because going thru Samsung will takes weeks and I will be without a cell phone. So, I went with Best Buy. BIG MISTAKE. They (BB) sent me a refurbished phone. It came in a zip lock baggie. WTF! I bought a $357.00 new phone and then was pressured to go via Best Buy to pay more money for a USED PHONE! The Manager Luis Gomez absolutely refused to help me. Why the hell would anyone buy anything NEW, to have it replaced with something USED! This is piss poor customer service and fraud. I came in with a major issue and had not been helped out a previous Best Buy location (The Compton warehouse sent me to them) Adriana and her manager Herbert were incredible and resolved all my issues despite the fact that it took an extra paperwork on their part. Do not buy any appliance from this company. The in store sales people seem competent enough but after your purchase is when the adventure begins. Any issue regarding delivery, installation, etc and you are given to the geek squad which is outsourced to where it sounds is the Philippines. Communication is almost impossible and they will keep asking the same questions you have already answered. They have very little knowledge of their products. They will put you on hold forever then disconnect you. Then they will never call you back even though they initially ask you for a call back number. This happened to me five different times. I spent several hours trying to have some questions answered. I had a very simple question about a concern regarding an installation yesterday. A two minute phone call with the installer would have easily resolved the issue. The delivery/ installation driver will not answer the phone number he called me from the day of delivery nor will he answer voice mails. I asked the geek squad for his contact information or for his dispatcher. They refused to allow any contact between me, the customer, and the delivery/installation company.And I didn't even mention that they sent me three damaged GE Dryers in a row before I finally cancelled and went with LG.. BOTTOM LINE: STAY AWAY FROM BEST BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND ENDLESS HOURS OF UNNECESSARY PHONE TIME WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM THAT IS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE. So when I went into the mobile section and the only guy there was helping me and he went to look if the one in stock was there and he came back saying we don't have it and then when I tell him can you please double check if that one is in stock this fruit pop turns around and tells me if you want to rush it we just won't sell you the product. WHAT?!?! Then, when I got to tell the manager Brianna what the fruit pop said, she just said, "I'm so sorry you experienced that." REALLY?!?! You dont have the common courtesy of telling me we don't have it in stock rather than me wait 1 hour before the store opens, and on top of that, your sales associates act like little girls. Yea, well, I just went to verizon, and they helped me and got my hard earned money spent there. No wonder Best Buy is becoming more of a toilet company. My family went here to upgrade to the new Samsung Galaxy phones and headed to the Best Buy Mobile center. It was a little late and we weren't aware how long it would take to set up our new phones. So a big, huge KUDOS for the staff members who helped us even past closing, especially Francine, who is the manager of the mobile section. We were so impressed with her customer service; even though it was late, she NEVER made us feel rushed, but finished the job as quickly as possible with no complaints at all. She was very friendly, knew her stuff, and answered all our questions with a smile. Not to mention, she made sure that we got the best deal (or should I say BEST BUY???) possible, with no hesitation. The only downside to our experience was that we kept getting the hard sell for the $10/month insurance policy from other staff, even when we said no the first time. If we want it, we'll get it. Anyway, I don't come to Best Buy often but after a string of bad-to-meh visits, she provided us with our best one yet! read more

We're pretty pleased with the assistance we received from Austin (sale staff) at this branch. He was knowledgeable and very helpful. We ended up buying the Samsung instead of the LG, what we originally wanted to purchase, unfortunately the largest size wouldn't fit our entertainment center. Of course, I took a look at my beloved lustworthy Macbook Air, and it ended up being on sale! The apple rep was incredibly knowledgeable about the products and gave honest advice on what to purchase. Kyle (I think?) even told me about the open box items they had in stock. I ended up walking out the door with a Macbook Pro that was around $980 which is an AMAZING bargain. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO AMAZON!!!!!! After coming in on Thursday morning to buy an item that would be free due to a rebate square space offered to all it customers who use their services I got accused of stealing a basically FREE item. It started by asking the dude at front where an iPhone attachment was. I picked it up and went to use the bathroom before I left. Come to fin I fit the description of a suspicious character and am being watched by their manager. Way to racial profile Best Buy, always improving the customer experience. Next thing I know, incoming out of the bathroom and the guy from the front asks me aggressively "where is the product" when I don't answer he gets more aggressive and than I realize he was asking about iPhone attachment. So I grabbed it from where I left, since they have signs clearly saying do not take products into bathroom. Then he has the integrity to ask me why did I place it in the cabinet and I told him because Best buys policy is not take products into bathroom and he goes quite. So moral of the story is Best Buy discriminates based on how you look and if you follow their company policy they will treat you even worse!! I'm definitely Going to be writing into corporate and filing a complaint against the manager and employee that labeled me a criminal and accused me of stealing a FREE item after rebate. My brother asked an associate named Madison to help us buy my iPad Pro, but he barely acknowledged that it would be my purchase with my money. He kept asking my brother which iPad HE was looking at or if HE wanted to include a case, and it was only near towards the end of his help that he began asking me questions directly. I don't mean to pull a sexist card, but there were several times we said the iPad would be mine but Madison just wouldn't seem to address me in favor of telling my brother about different specs and how I probably needed a case for protection because I would drop the iPad. Not only that, he gave us the 256 GB iPad instead of the 64 GB I wanted and we didn't find out until after he charged us. This girl with glasses and thick makeup at guest services gave us serious attitude when doing the refund. When they brought a 64 GB for the exchange, there were puncture holes in the box. I tried to inspect it, but this glasses girl told us to move over and inspect it on the side because she had other customers to help. They got my purchase wrong, exchanged it with a possibly damaged item, and told me to go away because there were other people they haven't ripped off yet? Why is this terrible girl in guest services when she doesn't have an ounce of customer service experience behind her? This review only reflects on those two associates.
