I went here a while ago and had a screen protector put on and when it was done and I asked where it was probably after about 30 minutes, they had it sitting on the desk the whole time ready to go and just didn't let me know. Tried to pickup two phones I ordered online. Customer service has no clue what they are doing. Trying to give me an opened box phone and telling me that it's unopened. After 30 minutes waiting they finally found my phone. It magically appears in the online order box.the other day it took them 15 minutes to scan the Barcodes. apparently both phones were ready to pickup the other day. If they had use 5 min to look it up, that would have save me half our trip today. They are not trained properly to do what they have to do. Went to get a new TV on Father's Day. Expecting a large crowd, I arrived right at opening time. There was hardly anyone there, but still had to wait forever to get assistance (just to pay) for a TV as I already knew what I wanted. Tons of staff talking, texting and shuffling merchandise from one place to another, but none could be bothered until I went to the "security" guy that stands at the door as you enter,,,,twice. It should be called Worst Buy. I have never had a good experience with this company. How could Circuit City and Comp USA go out of business and a company like this stay in business? Not to go over past dissapointments or other members of my familys dissapointments with this store. I ordred a Monitor on line which the store was supposed to have in store. However they were sold out in all Arizona stores,so I ordered online on Friday May 22nd,it meant I was going into the Memorial Day weekend. I did think if it was in stock it would ship right away,they even made a UPS label dating the 22nd. The web site said it was in shpment to the store. The order was not shipped till Thursday May 28th and arrived in Phoenix Friday 29th not able to ship to store as it is a weekend. So now I have to wait till Monday or Tuesday June 1st or 2nd. This is totally discusting they did not even give me a clue as to where my shipment was. I will never ever buy anything from Worst Buy again. Purchased an item online for in store pickup. Showed up to pick the item up and the item was in stock at the store but they refused to just go get it and give it to me. Apparently I had to wait for some system confirmation even though I ordered it 5 hours earlier. Tried to just cancel the order and buy the item in store but the online pricing wouldn't be given to me. I have been going there a lot lately dealing with cell phones. I am impressed with their knowledge and are willing to give you their expert opinions. Sales staff was helpful in finding what I needed but they only had one cashier and as I was waiting to check out I was looking at the impulse buy items to pass the time until she was done with her only customer (I was the only person in line). As soon as he finished paying and walked away another customer came from not in line and jump ahead of me. The cashier didn't even so much acknowledge I was standing there waiting. Best Buy is a necessary evil. For major appliances you go to the other big box stores and end up here. You need a TV - go to the rest of the big box or electronic stores and end up here. Stereo? Computer? Same process. You go look at the other stores, go online and do research so you know what you want and then gird your loins, suck it up and schlepp yourself into Best Buy. You might meander - just to throw them off - before you go to the area of products you are shopping for. Then you amble a little in the area and before you can really look there is a blue shirted "associate" on you like white on rice. Sometimes you get more than one! They take you yo what they think you should buy - the most expensive and high end product - then you can direct them back to the product you came for. If it is in stock it is yours. read more

There is a young cubby Asian girl working the customer service desk and I'm not sure if she understands what "customer service" means or what in entails. Came in yesterday to return an item, when it was my turn I walk up say "Hi good morning how are you?" and explain why I need to return the item. Not a smile from her, a hi, a blink...nothing...it was like I wasn't even standing there. She gets my return rung up in the computer and says (speaking at 500 mph without as any kind of eye contact) " you should see your return in the next 24 to 48 hours due to the weekend" and then starts to walk away. At this point I can feel my agitation start to kick in so before she completely walks away I say " so I don't need to slide my card or anything" (not in any type of rude tone)...the response I got was ".....*sigh*... if you needed to slide your card..I would've asked you to".... REALLY!?!? I'm not asking to be your freakin BFF or anything but come on, there was no need for the attitude. News flash!!!!! If you don't like you job GET A NEW ONE! Don't drive business away because you think you're doing Best Buy a favor by coming into work with a shifty attitude. Best Buy you should consider having this employee work nights. 2nd review ever, but I felt strongly about writing about my experience today at the Thunderbird store! I was on the cusp of buying a Samsung note 8 and as i walked in the phone area i saw four employees and since i was in the apple area i was was walking slowly to the Samsung phones and then looked ready to ask question about the plans they offered it was like i had a disease they all went four opposite directions and left me standing there. Thinking that they went away for a few minutes i waited around for enough time so i could look at every display of phones they had to offer and i would say 6 to 8 minutes. Yes i could have complained, looked for an employee but like i said i was undecided but leaned more of buying then not! So i walked around the store a bit and returned to the phone section and same four people were there and were helping customers. I stayed there until the first available employee was done with his customer and to my surprise he walks to the back area of the register area of the phones and i said that's enough and paid for my 4k movie and walked out. read more

I took my laptop into Geek Squad to have it fixed a week or two ago. My visit In was okay. I had about a 10 minute wait and was helped. However, my visit today to pick up my laptop was not pleasant. My laptop couldn't be fixed so it was returned as it was sent in. The man I spoke to on the phone said when I came in to pick it up that we would look up the piece together on other sites to get it order. I was happy and impressed. Joke was on me. Today I go in there and stood there ignored for about 10 minutes. Not even one person could at least say "be right with you." Finally someone came over and got my computer from the back. I told him that the guy that called me said he would help me get the part I need or at least write it down so I could find it. The man I was dealing with was not helpful in anyway. He told me to call HP and good luck finding the part I need (as in he didn't think I could get it). I signed it and left. The customer service is lacking. I know the previous store manager personally and I don't feel the service was like this when he was there. Now it's like they don't even try. read more

I purchased a $10 San Disk 16gb Flash Drive with CASH. They never asked me for my ID when I was giving them my money. But after I returned it the next day, because it did not work. They refused to give me my money back without providing my Driver's license info. Even though I had a receipt. They just don't peek at the Drivers License to make sure the person making the return is actually you,.....NO!!!! .....they slide your Drivers License through a reader which gathers all your data and sends it to a company called THE RETAIL EQUATION. This third party corporation does not explain who gets your personal data, where it is stored, how long they keep it, and what they do with all your personal data. For all I know it could be going to some kid in INDIA making .30 cents a day. Best Buy...you just lost a customer for LIFE, and I have already persuaded many people to shop at your biggest competitor here in Arizona. As a software educational instructor, I have let all my students,faculty, staff, (not to mention my family and friends) know of your poor business practices, and they have since shopped elsewhere. I recently had an experience at Best Buy that suggested some highly unethical and predatory practices. I purchased a Nook that was defective, stopped working after using twice. Best Buy refused to allow me to return it though it was within the guidelines of their written return policy. I was able to work directly with Barnes and Noble for the return of an item I bought at Best Buy. I wanted to share some of my research on the current unethical practices engaged in by Best Buy that corroborate my recent interactions with them that reflect their malevolent intents and attitudes toward their customers, as written in Forbes Magazine, as quoted here: "Employees, I learned, are strongly conditioned to see every customer who walks in the store as a potential target, one who needs to be coerced into buying something other than what they came looking for. But you can't treat the customer as an adversary in a battle of wills. You can't provide superior service when you've been drilled to view each person who walks into your store as prey. You can't be a trusted source of expertise on consumer electronics when, as many former employees told me, failure to follow the company script means getting your hours cut or simply being fired. Best Buy employees are trained to focus on customers. But not so much to serve them as to overpower them. Most BB mgrs. are Inept/Unconcerned/low Educated. Called GM (Vanhorn) with complaint. He had sarcastic attitude, tried to blame customer (usual), make excuses, and does not care! Very difficult to return defective products here. We purchased a 32" Samsung TV the previous day. After assembling it and turning it on we noticed it was defective in the following ways: the set leaned to the left, making the left side of the TV at a 1/2" higher level off the stand than the other side, the picture flickered in and out, and the picture quality was extremely dark. The next morning we took the set to the Best Buy (different location than the one we purchased it at) to exchange it. I had put it on my Best Buy credit card and just wanted an exchange. We walked in and my fiancee went to the TV section to pick out a new one, and I went to the customer service counter. The clerk started to do the transaction and asked me if anything was wrong with it? I said yes and explained the problem. She proceeded to do the transaction, when Kimberly walked past her and told her she needed to take the TV out of the box and check it out. She asked the clerk what was wrong, and the clerk told me to tell Kimberly what I had told her. Within moments, Kimberly summons Richard from home theatre to come up and set up the TV. My fiancee by now has returned to the front counter to complete the exchange and he is shocked to see that Kimberly had the TV and all of its parts and package information strewn all over the counter, and she is proceeding to start building the TV, even going so far as to screw the TV into the base again. Meanwhile, Richard comes up and takes over so Kimberly could help a customer. Richard decides he is not fooling with the base and proceeds to hook up their cable feed to it, and then he starts to auto program all the stations. AUTO PROGRAM every channel available! 20 minutes has now transpired and we are starting to wonder if we will ever get out of there. Finally my finally asks them how much longer is this going to be ... (we were on our way to pick up parents from the airport - but did not mention this to them, but we never expected this to become a 45-minute ordeal either). In the midst of this Kimberly is not wanting to answer any questions from me, such as: what's the reason for this, do you always have to program the channels on an exchange, etc ... and Richard tries his best to stay out of things and do what he is told by saying "I just work in home theatre". It seems like we were really getting the squeeze until my fiancee said "Look, we'll just return it in on our Best Buy card and buy it from another retailer." It was only at this time that they seemed to want to stop treating us like criminals and start treating us like a consumer. I'm not sure if it was due to the mention of the Best Buy credit card or due to purchasing a new one somewhere else, but they finally started acting more reasonable towards us. Richard had already prior to my statement, discovered that the TV was flickering, but he had continued to fiddle with it, while we waited. By this time, over 35 minutes had passed. Richard tinkered with the TV some more and FINALLY announces that the TV is defective, it is doing all the things we said it was, and he called it fading in and out. Richard told the initial clerk it was defective. Meanwhile Kimberly who is still up there seems to have taken an even bigger attitude now and won't even look at us or answer any questions directed to her, and Richard answers almost all of our questions with "I only work in home theatre". I told the clerk 'ok, it's done now, issue the exchange' and she had to ask Kimberly if it was okay to do so now. We left there after a 45 minute ordeal. I wonder if it's an intimidation factor, so that word gets out that this store is difficult to deal with on returns. However, they won't have to worry about any returns, because we are going to flood other review places asking people to not purchase at Best Buy anymore, and certainly not at that location. We had purchased a router, modem and TV all in one week. We are paying off the Credit Card immediately and will never use it or shop at Best Buy again. read more

Needed a refrigerator quickly since mine was dying. Made a purchase on a Monday and was told delivery would be on Wednesday. Refrigerator arrived damaged and icemaker was on back order for two weeks. Delivery guy called me two hours before my allotted appointment time telling me he would arrive in 45 minutes. I had to call him back telling him I would not be home. Spoke with the geek squad regarding the damaged refrigerator and I was then given an upgrade on a refrigerator that would be delivered to my home on Saturday. Waited around for hours and no one showed up without even a phone call. Called back on Monday and was then told my refrigerator was on back order and they would not have one for me for another three weeks. Meanwhile I'm throwing away food because my refrigerator does not work properly. Then a loaner was suggested. Throughout all this I told the customer service rep that I was going out of town and needed it before I left. After numerous phone calls to customer service I finally decided to cancel my order. There were too many phone calls with no resolution, too much time wasted, groceries thrown out, and confirming phone calls for merchandise that was on backorder and/ or canceled. I would give this place half a star if I had to. I have never felt so degraded doing business with this best buy. I spent 1300$ on mac book febuary 29th, 2012... Not even six months ago. I took it in because, my daughter spilled koolaid on the keyboard. YES! My fault but, I could still use a USB mouse and keyboard. (Better than nothing right???) So, Still useable so I dropped it off on a Thursday to see what they could do... I picked it up on a friday.. I got my laptop back (Keep in mind that when I dropped it off everything worked on it I was still able to get into my user accounts) and when I got home... I was stuck in a guest only account! I couldn't get to any of my info or anything. No user profiles to be found. I took it back they said they had corrupted my osx..... So they "fixed" it and I picked it up... Wifi wasn't working on it! And it still isn't I do not want to take my macbook back to this place. On Thursday when I dropped it off the cashier stated her computer was being "retarted" (Which is hurtful and not right to use at all!) I was appalled. I have special needs family remember and I don't think any one should use that word when referring to something NOT working.... When we picked my laptop up last night the first man to work on my laptop walked by us at the geek squad podium and gave us the dirtiest look ever. If looks could kill!!!!! So, I will not be doing any more business with best buy due to their attitudes in store and online. No one answers me at corporate and when I call they tell me "Try taking it to a different store (Like I have all the time in the world) Also, I was not aware of what I was signing.... They said it was a paper to check in and out the computer... And apparently I signed a form saying my laptop was in "dirty" condition and Geek Squad CALLED me out over this in a Facebook post. My keyboard may be sticky from a little toddler in her terrible twos (I am distraught over this!) But, TRUST me. My laptop is NOT dirty!!! Not at all! Not ever. I posted pictures of my mac-book on their Facebook wall to show them it is almost in like new condition (Besides the keyboard) I have never dropped this laptop! They said It was from a dangerous fall my cords were loose and there were scuffs and scratches on it. There's a little bit of wear and tear on the bottom from being on tables and counters BUT apple products dirty easily. Theres NO Scratches on the screen NO scratches any where. NO DENTS especially. And, they have a the nerve to call a customer a liar.... They just lost a good customer I used to spend 30-60 a week at best buy just for ink for my business and for business odds and ends... I learned my lesson and I would never treat customers the way they do. By the way I was "spamming" their facebook page by asking for someone to email me back and please help me before I picked the laptop up (So I didnt go round and round with them). Im so done with this place. I am NO liar. I am just a customer who happens to own a business and my business and schooling are all done over a macbook... SO it's vital I have mine! I bought a Dell All in One computer for myself on sale in Nov., 2 days before Thanksgiving. I had them check their computer to make sure I was getting the best deal I could.. I had a Geek Squad member come and open the box and set it up for me but that wasn't until Jan. 14th of 2016, and do a data transfer. He seemed to set it up okay, but the very next day I was on the phone to a Dell tech and she was adding drivers by remote to make the CD/DVD drivers work..Then it went downhill constantly, anytime anybody took remote access, they might fix one problem but create 2 or 3 others..I kept a log of dates and case numbers of everyone I talked too or that took control of that computer...Everybody said for me give them more money and I'll fix it for you, but they had already spend 2 hours or more trying to fix it..So I typed up my log and went and spoke to a manager at Best Buy. Very sweet young man. ( I'm 68 so almost everybody is younger than me. )He listened to me, took my notes and said to just bring it back and they would exchange it and transfer my data again for me. That it was possible that I just did get a LEMON. I spent from the 15th of January to Feb. 22nd so mad and upset at that thing that I wanted to throw it . I can't thank BEST BUY enough......For being a good company to do business with and standing behind the products that they sell.. I exchanged it out for the same All in One and decided to stay with Windows 10. But I smartened up and bought the Geek Squad service for two years.. Even they spent well over and hour helping set it up when I went to pick it up.......KUDOS to all of you....... read more

My laptop literally fell apart after I had it for two years. I didn't drop it or anything, it just fell apart when I opened it one day. I took it into Best Buy and they sent it in to their warehouse. They told me it would take two weeks and were very honest and upfront about how my warranty may not cover the fix, but they would try anyway. It only took a week and my laptop was back and as good as new, no charge to me. Both when I dropped the laptop off and when I picked it up, I was met with great customer service. The guys at the Geek Squad desk were very nice and informative. Definitely the best experience I've ever had at an electronics store. read more
