We recently canceled our cable service and realized our 20 year old Sony flat screen TV and Samsung smart TV were painfully outdated. We were using Chromecast to stream apps on the flat screen from our phones in the living room and the smart TV in our bedroom had limited apps and no ability to download the ones we needed. With the price of TVs so reasonable nowadays, we decided to shop for new ones. We came in on a Saturday around 1pm. There were quite a few guys working in the TV area, but they weren't overly pushy or anything. Once we decided on the size and brand we were looking for, we asked one of the guys for some guidance. We have large skylights in our living room and wanted a TV that handled bright light and glare issues. A couple of different people lended their expertise and we were able to make a decision on the two TVs we were looking for. They were both on sale too, so that was a bonus! Since it's been awhile since we've bought new TVs and technology is consistently advancing, we asked the LG guy if he could run through the home screen and go over some of the remote control basics. He was more than happy to help us feel more comfortable, and even shared some tips! He assured us it would only take about 10 minutes to set them up once we got them home. While purchasing the TVs, we were able to set up pickup dates. We received text and email notifications once they arrived at the store for pickup. The TVs arrived on the dates as promised and pickup was a breeze. They have quite a few designated pickup parking spots right in front of the store, which proved to be extremely convenient. They helped us load them as well. The LG guy was correct in his setup estimation, it took less than 10 minutes to set up each TV. These TVs are amazing! So many features to get used to. The picture quality is spectacular! I'm hoping these LG TVs last a very long time. We would highly recommend this location! read more

This is the worst location I've been to- a million employees and they're never in the section you need nor can they help you with anything. Every time I asked someone for help they'd point me to another person and another direction. Simply to exchange my iPad for a larger model. I finally am checking out and realize I never got to pick the color of the iPad the floor worker just chose one and rang it up. I'm frustrated but glad it's over, I get home and they gave me an Apple Pencil that's not compatible with my iPad. I got an adapter cord and still tried plugging it in and it says it's not a supported accessory. An absolutely exhausting experience because now I need to return this pencil. Buy your electronics literally anywhere else and it'll be cheaper with less or no hassle. read more

I have visited twice in the last month and neither time did I receive any service. I was told both times someone would help me but after waiting 15 or so minutes nobody showed up. I ended up purchasing a new TV and tablet at other retailers. The prices they have are comparable to other retailers, but if you can't get service it doesn't do them much good. read more

Customer Service. After so much frustration with delivery we had a hero. When we purchased the TV on January 24th we were told delivery would be on February 2nd. Never came, after numerous phone call ended up going in person to the store and was told delivery would be February 6th. Received a phone call that evening to "Schedule a delivery" WHAT!! I went in to get a birthday present for my son and a few Christmas presents for the rest of my kids. My boys were waiting in the car so I brought a giant Walmart shopping bag to hide the gifts so they don't see it if they went in or see me walking to the car with them. I went in with the intention of buying a tablet, ps portal, and Nintendo switch 2. I found the tablet that was in a big security container and I was immediately running out of room in my hands because I also had my wallet and phone so I threw everything in the again SHOPPING BAG. Not a backpack, not a purse. Also, I must mention I did this in front of customers and employees and whoever was around me and I even tussled with the container and shopping bag to get it in for a few seconds. I continued my path towards the back of the store to look for the ps portal and only found a paper in plastic with a picture of the handheld console. I wanted to make sure they had the black one in stock so I tried flagging 2 employees and they didn't stop or acknowledge me. I figured I could look for the switch console while I waited for another employee to zoom by and I could flag them down then. As I looked around my Mom called so I started chatting with her literally just standing and waiting. As I STOOD there not looking suspicious or anywhere near the front of the store, a security guard with an employee tapped me or tugged on my bag I'm not even sure how he gained my attention because it happened to suddenly. He raised his voice and demanded that I get everything out of my shopping bag. I took out the tablet in the giant security container and my plastic covered picture of the ps portal and my wallet. He told me to get out of his store and to never come back and that I was banned. I asked him if he was serious and what I had done for him to talk to me this way and he said I was shoplifting. He barely let me get two words in so I can tell him I'm trying to make sure my son doesn't see his birthday present. He kept interrupting me and telling me to get out and that I'm lucky I'm not being arrested? I kept apologizing for him thinking I was stealing but I needed to buy what I came for because I live almost an hour away and it was really my only chance to do my shopping before my sons birthday and the upcoming holidays. I didn't get to say anything because he was yelling at me to leave. In front of other customers. In front of employees. Everyone looking at me. I felt like an animal. I worked in retail when I was younger and was close friends to loss prevention employees and they treated actual thieves with more respect than this man had towards me. He told me to use my brain and to not put things in my personal bags. I don't know if he has been to other stores but you're allowed to bring your own SHOPPING BAGS. I didn't put it in my purse. I didn't even bring a purse. I made no move signaling that I was trying to steal. As I mentioned before I was battling with the security container and bag to put it in there while I continued to shop. I feel like I was discriminated against because how hard would it have been to take a few seconds even to listen to what I was trying to avoid. Or tell me to not use my shopping bag and I would have gladly taken it out and ask if they could hold it for me so my son doesn't see if he comes in. The employee that was with him I later found out was the assistant manager. He did absolutely nothing to help this situation. My husband later called the store and spoke to this manager and he told my husband he didn't know what was going on which is a lie because I was speaking to both of them trying to tell them I didn't want my son to see the things I was getting him and the rest of my kids. I ended up going to another Best Buy. They apologized profusely. I was able to guess what? Use my OWN SHOPPING BAG plus they knocked off $20 per the store manager. I have yet to hear from this store as I emailed and left two messages for the general manager and I have not heard a thing. The assistant manager told my husband that I can go back and he will make it right but I'm not going back to that store as long as that security guard is there. I've never been in trouble with the law or been accused of anything so this is a new and mortifying experience for me. The damage is done and I wish i could have gotten that rent-a-cops name so I could report him to his agency because I would love to help karma get to him a little sooner. The employees here have always been very helpful in helping me to find what I need and explaining my options. The only bad service I've received is with the Geek Squad who is an authorized Apple service. Don't waste your time, go directly to an Apple Store. I made an appt and they were not helpful with any of my issues. My best guess is they will only help you with things that they can make money off of, otherwise they just push you out of line as fast as they can. Standard Best Buy with all the normal departments. There is a lot going on and a variety of items in each category, especially the TV area. If you don't do the research first, it can be challenging to find a product that matches your needs without assistance. if you are lucky enough to have an assistant offer help and they are knowledgeable across brands, then it's a good experience. But often they provide too much info that my head starts spinning and I can't decipher it. For this reason, I do a lot of research on my own then either go in the store to validate my findings or order online, and do a curbside pickup. read more

This review is exclusively for the pick up experience here. We were visiting Portland and wanted to get some phones for my friends. It was a last minute plan and I could see all the devices I was looking for was available in this store. So I ordered them online in the morning while driving to Portland. Voila! I have the pickup notification in another 30 mins. When we arrived at the store later that day, there's a dedicated line for online pickup. The associate scanned the QR code, checked the ID and in another 5 minutes I have the devices in my hand. Great experience working with the associate. He was friendly and super quick to find my order. He explained me about some of the offers going on for the open box items; and I got couple of other good deals as well. read more

I ordered something online to be delivered to my apartment and the incompetent delivery person left the package in the only place it was guaranteed to get stolen. Spoiler alert, the package was stolen. If a delivery person can't figure out how to hide a package in the bushes, call the person on the call box, or mark the package, undeliverable, and try again the next day; they are either mentally deficient, totally and utterly incompetent, or just careless. In any of those situations, it reflects poorly on Best Buy and makes me never want to shop there ever again. I got sucked in to the sales pitch on buying a Best Buy Geek squad contract for hundreds of dollars. I have tried four times to use them and my bought and paid for contract. First time they needed to come out to set up the router modem. Cost me $50 for them to come to me. They could have easily done it over the phone. They wanted the revenue. Second time I was having an issue with a new phone... a $1000 phone... I bought from them. Their answer... call the carrier. Third time I bought a new HP inkjet printer. It would not sync with laptops to print via wifi. They wanted $50 to come out. Couldn't diagnose over the phone. So I drove all the way to best buy with the freaking printer... only to be told, "we don't service printers. There is no profit in it. We recommend you buy a NEW PRINTER!!!" It was a new inter with less than 10 printed pages. Today I took to of my laptops in as they are supposed to be willing to tune up laptops as part of the service contract. I was the only one in line... literally the only one. for 15 minutes while I waited for tweedle dee to stop shooting the breeze with tweedle dumb behind the desk. The one tech would look up periodically to see if I was still there. Remember, only one in line. He finally calls me up and asks if I have an appointment. I look around me and ask, "Do I need an appointment?" His response - we only work by appointment. My reply-but there is no body here other than 4 technicians. He asks what I want. I say, I want to drop off my two laptops for a tune up. His response ? Yep, you will need an appointment to drop off your laptops. I say, but there is still no one in line. No, I was not able to leave my computers behind for a tune up. So the Best buy Geek Squad contract is a contract where you make a payment and they make excuses. Do NOT waste your money!!! read more

I think this is the worst Best Buy in the Portland area, maybe the Northwest. I've had nothing but bad luck with the employees in there. We popped in to grab an Ethernet cable over 20 ft & we were sent to 3 different areas of the store by 3 different employees, totally unacceptable! I just ordered about $50 worth of stuff that I needed within the next day or so (my fault I should've gone to the store). Anyways I go ahead and try to cancel the order because it's not going to make it on time and of course I am unable to do so now I have to go to the store and buy my items twice and wait for the ones I ordered online to get here so I can return it and get a refund. The store itself gets 5-stars for great selection, great prices, easy to navigate store, always plenty of closeup parking and super cheap DVDs (as low as $4.99 reg. and $5.99 blu-ray). So why did I rate only 3-stars? Two reasons... First, you will likely get bombarded by numerous employees as you walk through the store all asking if they can "help" you, but what they really want to do is up sell you add-ons and warranties (which they get commissions on). I wouldn't mind so much, except they hover around you when they think you're going to buy something. It's really annoying. Second reason, I've had more than 1 employee flat out LIE to me in attempts to sell me a warranty. Today was a perfect example... I bought a new laptop and Kapersky antivirus. The guy who was "helping" me tried to sell me a 1-year damage warranty for $149 (the computer only cost $249, so "no thanks!") To try and convince me further he says " it comes with a year of Kapersky antivirus, which you're getting ready to buy for $59 anyway." That was lie #1 because Best Buy gives a FREE copy of Kapersky with any computer purchase over $200. Then, he tries to sell me Microsoft Office. I told him I already owned Office and he tried to tell me I couldn't load it on multiple computers and would need to purchase a new copy. Um, no... my copy can be loaded/licensed on 3 computers! The dumbfounded look on his face was priceless, when he realized I'm actually pretty tech savvy LOL. read more

You guys are better off buying from amazon or somewhere else. Their website isn't up to date. I've seen things on the shelf that say it is sold out online, and they have things "in stock" online but when you get to the store it turns out it is out of stock. Don't call their phone number because everything is automated and you won't be able to speak to any human. Regardless of covid, they should still provide decent customer service, which they are lacking right now. It's so bad that they offered me $30 off a product because of the "delay." Bottom line, probably best to find the best deal online and just have it shipped to your house. You will get better customer service from amazon than this place. Going into the store is useless. I have been coming here for a decade, and I am always impressed by the exceptional customer service here. I felt compelled to write a review after my amazing interaction with their employee named Angel. Angel is phenomenal. His customer service skills are extraordinary. He is so knowledgable, personable, and goes above and beyond to give you the best deals; and makes your shipping experience pleasant. He literally sat there with me for 20 minutes doing math to try to compute what the best deal would be for me; and I don't know where you're going to find that kind of service elsewhere - especially since they do not get commission. So far I have gone to Angel twice to buy MacBook Airs + other items; and I will definitely be back. I am truly thankful and appreciative for Angel. I simply wanted to buy a wireless router for my home. I know that Best Buy is not allowing customers in the store so I went on line. As there are a lot of different prices of routers, I wanted some simple help in choosing the right router for my needs. I was greeted nicely and transferred to the right department. From there it went down hill. I was left on hold for probably 8-10 minutes. Finally someone answered but was clearly too busy to help me. THey directed me to the website which I had already been on. Again on hold for a few minutes. Back to the original greeter who I explained I was getting frustrated. He said to call back later that they were having a lot of calls. I hung up and have done nothing since. Simply want a router and don't want to pay $300 if I don't need that much hardware. That is all, not a good experience. read more

Was told I was an elite member when I clearly wasn't, And was given a false amount of time in which I was able to return my defective item. Mid return procedure The associate asked me which card I would like my refund processed too. It was then after THIS moment he said he couldn't process my refund because I wasn't an elite member. I told him that the date should be the first thing he Looks at when processing a return. After calmly asking to speak with a manager I was told "the manager doesn't want to talk to you" his decision is made. Hands-down the worst group of people I've ever had to deal with. On May 9th I called the store to see if they had a Pixel 3a in stock. I wasn't actually able to talk to a real person but the automated phone system said that the phone was in stock, so I drove over right away. When I got there, I noticed that the price in the store was $50 more than the price on bestbuy.com. Also, it was not in stock, despite what the automated phone system had said. No big deal, I went home and ordered it online, to be delivered to the store on May 20th. Also, there was a promotion where I would get a $100 Best Buy gift card. That seemed worth the 11 day wait for my new phone. Then, May 20 rolls around they send me an email letting me know that that my order has been delayed. Annoying, but I'm still not completely heartbroken, remembering that I have that $100 Best Buy gift card coming whenever my phone makes it to the store. But if my order doesn't make it to the store by June 19th it will be cancelled. No big deal I think, how can it possibly take longer than that? Then, June 18th rolls around, and I'm getting pretty annoyed at the whole situation, but I would still really like that $100 Best Buy gift card that Best Buy told me I would get if I ordered this phone back on May 9th. Also, I notice that my phone is in stock on bestbuy.com! So, I call Best Buy and let them know that I'm not very happy about how things are going but that I really don't want my order to be cancelled, I really just want my phone and the gift card as we mutually agreed to back on May 9th. They call the store and assure me that phones are on the way and that my order will not be cancelled. Also, they were going to mail me a $50 gift card to compensate me for the fact that everything about this experience is a complete mess (remember, at this point Best Buy has the phones, just not at the store - and my order is a month late). Then, on June 20, my order is cancelled. I called Best Buy back and they tell me that the first customer service rep misspoke and that *of course* my order was cancelled, that's how things work. Also, that they can't send me the $100 gift card that I was originally promised in the promotion that was running on May 9, because some corporate system wouldn't let them. But, that if I ordered the phone on bestbuy.com, waited for 14 days so that I couldn't return it, and called back they *promised me* that they would mail me a physical gift card for $100 to "make things right." So, I got to the website, and THE STORE HAS THE PHONE IN STOCK. So, we'll see if I get my gift card but I'm literally never spending another dime in their store. Went to buy a dishwasher that was open box, adding the dishwasher online the junction box was included at no cost and there was an option to pick up the dishwasher and have the part shipped. When I went to checkout they said they didn't have the part and I could go over to Home Depot and buy one; they didn't have one either. I was looked at like I was crazy when I asked how else I could get the part and he kept telling me how can I give you something we don't have and acted like I was crazy to suggest it would be shipped. I was going to just buy it online in the store but didn't want to waste anymore time with a person that was so condescending. A very helpful and kind person named Kevin ended up coming and wrapping the item and bringing it to the car so the experience wasn't as bad. I would recommend they move Kevin to sales. read more

We ordered all new kitchen appliances through Best Buy(over $12,000). They put the install through two third parties. First third party showed up 3 hours early with the fridge (no fridge handles but a dishwasher handle). They also didn't have the water line and weren't able to install. Second third party was supposed to show up between 2-5. At 5:30 I called to see where they were and Geek squad had no idea. The third party called and said they would be another 45 min. At 6:45 they show up with the dishwasher and microwave oven combo unit. The dishwasher has a large dent in the side and they didn't bring straps, a dolly or tools to install the oven combo unit! They promise to come back on the following day. Next day they show up and forgot one of the tools to install the oven combo unit so they say they will show up the following day.. Next morning is a no show! I text them and they have their read receipts on so I know they read my message but no response. I spend 6 hours on the phone with Best Buy trying to get a manager involved. They disconnect me 5 times! I finally get a manager on the line and they say someone will be out the following day but will call with a time. No call! The following morning I call and get another manager on the line to look into this for me. He states that he can have someone out on Monday but, will once again they will call with a time. No call! It has now been 8 days, 5 no shows at least 15 hours on the phone trying to get someone out here and now being told I have to wait another 3 days for someone to come out to do the installation! My window for them to arrive is between 7am-10pm on a Saturday!! Worst service I have ever experienced and the fact that their crews either don't show up or show up with no tools speaks volumes for how their business runs and what they think is acceptable service! read more

The store did not have what I was looking for in two departments, when I asked twice the person helping walked to a PC and checked their website. An order was placed online for next day delivery. The day of delivery, I chatted with an agent and was confirmed delivery before 9PM. Later that night I was sent a message that things were delayed and with in a few days it would be updated. I am typing this as I am back on a chat with Best Buy waiting 20 minutes for an agent. Completely dissatisfied with the performance here. read more

Walking in I didn't get greeted by anyone even though 3 employees were standing there not doing anything but on their phones. I literally went in for a charger and no one asked me if I needed help. I walked around for about 5 minutes before I found someone that worked there and they were having a social conversation that did not stop even though I was standing there waiting for help. I don't mind someone having a good time at work but I obviously needed help. I then apologized for interrupting and asked for where I could find the specific charger I needed was. The entire time I'm being followed by the security guard... I don't know if it's because of racial profiling or he thought I was attractive because he literally followed me through the entire time I was shopping and making his presence known but getting in my way. I left with the wrong charger( my fault) I was rushing. I went back in to purchase the correct one and again the security guard followed me to the point I asked him what he wanted and he just looked away. I went to the checkout and still followed me and then stood outside in case I stole something and watched me walkout. I never thought I'd be harasses walking into a Best Buy.
