I bought a dishwasher online from Best Buy, including the installation kit, haul-away service, and professional installation. I thought everything was handled, but the delivery day was a disaster. The installer--a third-party contractor, not a Best Buy employee--demanded an extra $500 on top of what I had already paid. When I refused to pay for something already covered in my contract, they refused to do the job. I contacted Best Buy Customer Support, but they sided with the plumber, claiming there was nothing they could do. I eventually refused the entire delivery, only to be told a refund could take up to 10 days. Best Buy failed to honor their agreement and allowed a contractor to exploit the situation. I will never buy so much as a roll of tape from them again. Avoid their appliance delivery and installation services at all costs. read more

Not sure why the bad reviews from others but my two experiences here were both pretty solid. First time I picked up a tv I bought and the staff was rly kind and helped me load it into my car for me without even me asking. Second time I strolled in right when they weee about to close and asked Elvin for help to find me a few electronic items and headphone with the special headphone adapter (I didn't know it was called that at the time) for use in my electric piano and he knew immediately what to get and found a very cost effective product for me. They sent a new one to the store for pickup which also was damaged. So they told me to order again but I would have to pay the full price not the sale price anymore. This Best Buy sucks. I purchased a laptop online on 24 March 25, under the impression that it will arrive in 2 days 25 March 25 and that is the only reason I purchased this item online. I normally go into the store but because where I'm located, there isn't a Best Buy for about 2 hrs. So, purchased this laptop on Sunday and have yet to receive it. First I get shipping label created and your package is on the way, now I get "shipping table created but have been picked up by UPS, so your package is delayed and should arrive 26 March 25 - 29 March 25. I called customer service this morning and the rep was talking to me like he had new information so after giving me the run around for about 10 minutes, the rep finally said, this package is lost and it qualifies for a refund. I dnt shop Best Buy that often but damn, this was by far the worst experience I've had. I would never call for anyone to lose their job but in days of federal employees losing their jobs for nothing, it amazes me who how normal citizens still have jobs after some of the stuff I've witnessed over the last couple of months. read more

Without a doubt, the worst store on earth. Forget that the shelves are mostly empty. Forget the staff aren't knowledgeable and they have a queuing process that no customer knows about until after you've waited in a department for assistance. Visiting the store tonight, walked in about 15 minutes before they closed. At 9pm the close the mall entrance without the courtesy of an announcement. I had to walk across the parking lot to get back in the mall. I said something to the kid at the exit and was met with a laugh. read more

I was trying to get something really quick and the store doesn't seem so busy and it's also on the way from the gym where I go to. Luckily I found the thing that I needed without any assistance from an employee. So I was looking for the calendar to pay for my product but the signs for check out was so confusing. There was also a lady that was on the same page as me. But she opt not to wait in line and just pay later. I ended up in front of the line so I was expecting got her taken cared of in the next 5 minutes Atleast. When I was waiting g in line the were 3 cashiers working. So I was expecting to be called after the other family was done. To my surprise only one cashier was left and 2 of them disappeared. There were so many staff members passing by and looking but never cared to ask the customers what they need or if they needed help. I was looking at them but they just ignored all of the people in line for check out. I was so close to looking for a manager to take care of this because this is unbelievable. After almost 15 mins of standing there this girl was called to help out and mind you, she was standing at the door looking at the line for the last 20 mins and never had the initiative to help out. So finally she said "i can help who's next"? So I went and I paid the stuff and I asked her to put it on my credit card and search for it with my social and while I was entering some information. She was literally on Facebook!!!! How unprofessional. And I purposely looked at her name and it was SHAMIAH Hopefully I got the spelling right. So if a manager hopefully reads this you better tell that employee to get it together. I hope this doesn't happen to any other customer because it's really disappointing ! Stopped in quick to pick up an item that showed as in stock online. I needed an associate to get the item for me as it is kept behind the counter. I saw 2 associates helping other customers, but when they finished, they immediately ducked into a back room. I saw 3 other associates disappear into the back room as well before I could flag them down. I wandered around for 20 minutes to find someone to help but nobody was around. There were a few other customers looking for help as well. I eventually snagged one when they exited the room, and he told me it was in stock and to go to customer service. I headed that way and was told they didn't have any, without even checking for me. Managers need to make sure their associates are there to work instead of gathering in a break room together. Wasted time when I could have been on my way in 2 minutes. I'll stick with Danvers location where they are always extra attentive. read more

We ordered a stove from BestBuy in Saugus Mass 3 months ago. We needed the stove delivered and installed so we paid extra for their technical service. So that being said three months later and 5 reschedules due to wrong address and problems with delivery we finally cancelled the order on the 6th delivery cancellation because they were going to deliver the stove to the wrong address again. I went to this store this morning to see about purchasing a laptop they had on sale. I was the 2nd customer in the door and could not get any help from the employees. I have purchased many items through this store over the years. And most of those transactions have been unpleasant for me. I am disabled and very visible and still could not get help. I gave up and left. I tried to call the manager but there was no option available for that. This was the last straw for me. I will go out of my way to avoid this store in the future because of this. Delivery was fine. Product advertising was fairly deceptive. Product was a Samsung refrigerator that shows 6 photos, one of which is an automatic ice maker. The description never makes it clear that the ice maker is a $99.00 add-on to a $700.00 refrigerator. While making the purchase on-line, you are never offered the option to purchase the ice-maker. One more thing to watch when engaging with Best Buy. Telephone support person was SOOOOOOO SOOOOORY after they came on in 30 minutes. If I could give a minus 5 I would. Tried to order a watch online for pick up but it was a disaster. I placed the order, the credit card went thru and I waited for the pick up message. I waited 90 minutes and called them. They said they had to verify the order which could take 24-48 hours. I asked what they had do verify and got the response, "I don't know." I told them to cancel the order and went to the store to purchase the watch. When I got there, I asked for the manager who said, "It's a glitch in the software. I don't know what they have to verify. It doesn't happen all the time." I said that I'm going to purchase the watch with the same credit card. Will you have to verify? Her response was"No" This store is a joke! Unfortunately that's the worst equiped store of that chain in this area. Sometimes they don't have things that appear to be for pick up in store when checking on the web site. You can't ask them to unbox product in order to check compatibility with tablet - you need to buy it first to learn something that they should now better than reading just enigmatic description on box. Returning products is real pain in the ..s one time I have learned that i cannot return a product because there was no sticker on the box - the other (same) products and competitors products also didn't have damn sticker. Finally I have managed to return it. Its much better to check store in the Burlington. They have more unboxed, used stuff and in-store products seems be properly updated on website. read more

I've been a loyal Best Buy customer for 10 years. However, my experience in Saugus may very well have changed that moving forward. I recently moved into a new condo and purchased new TVs and installation services from Best Buy and Magnolia respectively ($3,000+ worth of equipment and services). Prior to this, I had purchased an HP monitor for my new home office which I had yet to take out of the box. During my consultation with Magnolia they had suggested I mount a TV in my office space and use it as a second monitor for my laptop, which were my plans for the HP monitor all along. After moving forward with Magnolia's suggestion, which inevitably led to me purchasing an additional TV, Best Buy in Saugus wouldn't allow me to return the unused and unopened HP monitor ($149) as it had exceeded the return period. Pretty surprising customer service tactics - as they have just pushed away a loyal customer for good. read more

When they first opened this location a few years back, I was psyched. That didn't last for long until today when I went hunting for movies. Worst fucking selection EVER. All the catagories of movie were just thrown together and they're out of almost everything. I mean seriously? I saw only three rows of movie titles, short, small rows. As a major Techie Best Buy is a good source for low end or quick buys for things I need. As far as Best Buys go this is bottom tier they have no stock of anything and their staff knows nothing.("whats an external hard drive? We have laptops you want a lap top go talk to bill") If you ask for something they will tell you if you don't see it we don't have it, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE IT SO I COULD SEE IT!!! The store is tiny and if you do manage to find something it will be $5-10 over their web price, their store quoted price from the web site and any other Best Buy price, maybe the manager is skimming. I've gotten SOME good help here, but it's few and far between. However, not every employee is a total dodo, so those select few save one additional star on this review. Everything else here stinks. Pee - yew. Worn down, old, dark atmosphere. Hard to get help when you need it, or the item you want when you want it (netbooks and smaller laptops, specifically). Brought my computer here for software service (viruses, wah.), and was told I need a whole new hard drive (??????!!). Stupid. Went to pick up said computer. Second person in line, TEN people behind the counter chatting with each other or staring off into space, no help offered. Man comes out from back of Geek Squad, offers help to group in front of me, who says they are already being helped. Man does not even notice me and walks away. I ask the other tech if I can get some help and he says, "yah, in a minute". I tell him that another tech just checked if this group needed help and he says, "yah, he's off the clock now". UGH! Finally get my computer, and I'm told there's some confusion about the fee I need to pay for my new hard drive. Oh, did I mention I said NO to the hard drive? Another wait, fee resolved. Get. Me. Bought a T.V. package on line. Set up appointment for home delivery for a week later due to it being a new home in another State and not living there for a week. Get confirmation of order and they have 3 accessories (more than $700) being delivered by UPS in two days. I called Best Buy right away. Even though they did not even have a tracking order yet they could not change the order to be delivered later or to pick up in store. The 3 shipments with electrical equipment and speakers will now be left outside on roadway (its a rural area) for 5 days till I arrive in the State. read more

According to the geek squad, it takes over 2 weeks to replace a power supply. REALLY? The geek squad seems to never get more than 10 visitors a day. Replacing a power supply takes at best 20 minutes. These guys are not professional AT ALL. Charging absurd prices for easy fixes and if it's too complicated for the 10th graders that work there, they'll claim it's "broken" and chuck it in a landfill. Seriously, stay away from this place, if your computer has problems just get a skilled person to do it because it's clear none of these employees know anything about a computer. read more

On Sunday 10/20/19, I purchased a gaming laptop from Best Buy in Danvers and asked the store associate if the laptop had a DisplayPort to which he replied, "yes." Upon opening it when I got home, it only had a MiniDisplayPort and HDMI, no regular DisplayPort. The VR headset I'm trying to get working requires regular DisplayPort, adapters do not work, I've tried. The Saugus store was closer to my work, so I decided to return it there the following day 10/21/19. Upon arriving at customer service, I was approached by a Mr. Michael P, apparent head of Geek Squad, whose first remark to me was, "Aren't you aware that no laptops come with regular DisplayPort?" Obviously not. He seemed annoyed that I was returning the laptop. During their inspection, he claimed that "the laptop is taking longer than normal to boot, which isn't normal for SSDs." Again, thank you for the education, but I never turned it on myself after seeing it lacked the port I needed. Then he proceeds to tell me that he can't accept my return because the "Factory Seal" stickers weren't in their right spot and there's "scratches on the screws" AFTER he brings it out back to "check something." He was insinuating that I tampered with a brand new laptop that I just bought the day before, then attempting to return it. All because it didn't have the port I needed. The real reason Michael P didn't want to accept the return is because part of each store's performance metrics revolve around sales and returns. I purchased the laptop from Danvers and was trying to return it to Saugus, which he obviously was upset about when I walked in. His suggestion? "Bring it back to the Danvers store and try to return it there, there's nothing we can do about it here." read more

HORRIBLE. While visiting my mother this past week her 1980's metallic power strip shit the bed so, we headed down to the Square One Best Buy to grab a new one. Now I have heard several horror story's about Best Buy, but never quite believed them until last week. We arrived at the store and began to search for power strips. After a minute or two of searching I decided to just ask an employee where they were kept. I approached a middle aged man (can't remember his name) who claimed to be a supervisor. He promptly took us to the aisle where the strips were located. I thanked him and instead of getting the message and leaving he picked up a $59 dollar power strip. All we needed was a $12 Dynex strip nothing fancy. I again thanked him and told him that we were all set with the cheaper model. He again, didn't get the hint. The hint that I knew what I wanted and did not need his help. The "supervisor" turned to my mother and asked her which appliances we would be plugging into the strip. A Plasma TV , cable box and DVD player. The supervisor told my mother that the model I had chosen would not work and break her TV... lying right to her face. I called him on his bull and he informed me that I had no idea what I was talking about and that I should mind my business because he was not speaking to me. I know I should have left right then and there, but we needed the strip. I picked up the model I wanted and headed with my mom to the registers. He followed. Yes... he followed us. When we got to the register he used his "supervisor powers" and relived the cashier, so he could ring us out. I was paying for the $12 item with my credit card. He completed the sale, I signed for my purchase and was ready to go. After everything was completed the dude asked for my ID. I only brought my card with me and by this time my mother had already headed out to the car. The man refused to let me leave with my purchase. I couldn't believe it. Naturally I was pissed. I informed him that it was a violation of Best Buy's agreement with MasterCard to even ask me for my ID. He didn't seem to care. He had to process a return and lost the sale all because I didn't buy what he told me too. They say that Best Buy employee's don't work on commission so, I don't get what this guy's problem was. I would like to share the single worst retail experience of my 54 year life. Ten months back, I purchased 2 washer dryer units at the Best Buy in Braintree, Ma for a 2 family building that I recently renovated. I opened a Best Buy credit card in order to receive a small discount on the purchase. Approximately a week later I was waiting for delivery, when I decided to call the store to check on time. After waiting for a couple of hours and contacting the store, I was informed that the items were no longer in stock and would not be delivered. Best Buy agreed to cancel the transaction and refund the store credit card that I had opened. At this point, I was simply willing to call my Best Buy experience disappointing at best. Roughly two months later, I received a call from the Best Buy credit department. They said that I was delinquent on the payment to my account. I explained that the items that I was sold were out of stock and were never delivered. Further the transaction was canceled. I waited on hold while the transaction was reviewed. I was told that clearly the transaction was canceled, but the amount that was delinquent was for the interest on the purchase. I thought how could you charge me interest on an item that Best Buy did not have in stock to sell me? The employee on the phone agreed and said he would rectify the situation. Roughly a month later, I received a similar call from Best Buy's credit department again stating that my account was delinquent. I went through the same process again with this employee who again agreed to rectify the situation. Recently I started the process of refinancing my home. It was quite a surprise to be told that my credit score was too low to refinance. I couldn't believe when I reviewed the report to see that the only delinquency was a Best Buy account. I immediately contacted their credit division and was told that I would need to write a letter and that the process would take about 60 days. To summarize my Best Buy experience, I purchased 2 sets of washers dryers with a store credit card. The purchased items were never in stock. Several hours of my time were wasted while waiting for a delivery that was never coming. Best Buy then thought it was ok to charge me interest on items that they never had in stock to sell me. When I brought this to their attention they agreed that the transaction should be canceled, but failed to do so......twice. Most importantly, they are now telling me that the giant mess that they created will take at least 2 months to fix. Should this store really be called Best Buy, perhaps Worst Buy ever!! read more
