It's been several years, so I thought I'd update my review. I still like Best Buy, I still go there for quite a few things, and maintain my costly totaltech membership, but the store has objectively declined in recent years. Their Geeksquad is definitely not what it used to be. I had a particularly awful experience where they came to attempt to repair my washer. Their "fix" didn't work at all (the first time I used it, the day after the fix, it was back to being broken again), and when I decided to purchase a new washer they refused to credit the failed fix attempt, so there are some hard feelings there. Also if you go in their store, and need help picking out the right appliance, or get a demo, you are usually completely out of luck. They've cut back their staff so far that often there is literally nobody there to help. Yet they keep the door greeter, lol. Priorities? Still... with the sate of retail establishments being that they now are, Best Buy still stands out as a pretty good place to go for a lot of things, and I appreciate that they are still in business. read more

I used to come to Best Buy because everyone that worked there was extremely knowledgeable and had a clear passion for all things tech. Besides my rough experience, everyone I encountered was unprofessional, lethargic, and clueless on their products. We had been having an issue with an Action 4 camera we had bought, we were out of town (hence why we bought it) and while we were there the camera started glitching terribly, we weren't able to get as much film time as we had wanted. When we got back, we went straight to Best Buy. We attempted to ask for guidance, after spending 30 min asking questions, recommendations, talking to Geek Squad, looking at other options, we make our way to the register to exchange out faulty camera. We then find out they can no longer help us because it's THREE days past the return policy. If we paid $100 to join their membership they could exchange it for us, otherwise we'd have to go through the manufacture warranty. The manager had absolutely no crucial conversation training or skills, was not helpful or sympathetic, & in fact, was quite the contrary. I love to shoutout places and give great reviews, me leaving a 1 star review is quite different for me. It was a frustrating waste of time, and I'm disappointed about the delivery and commutation skills rather than the enforcement of policy. Best Buy sold me a Switch 1 pro controller when I bought my switch 2 Mario kart bundle (a $600 purchase - why would I want the switch 1 controller) but the guy actually gave me a switch 1 pro controller . and when I came back Best Buy wouldn't let me return it. So 1 star is for Best Buy screwing me over and kinda lying tbh, even worse not letting me actually exchange for the pro 2 controller (that I was told I was buying) with my job I buy (now bought) all our canon gear, all our Apple gear at Best Buy. But because they wouldn't help me out which is nuts cause I'd be giving them more money for the actually controller they said I was getting.but because of this I now gotta get all my gear else where. I went in to Best Buy in Tualatin fully ignorant on how to put together a stereo system for the store. I was a little reserved at first until I met and spoke with Tanner Ketterman. After 35 years in retail sales and having always taken real customer service very seriously, I could not believe the demeanor and genuine courtesy Tanner showed. He listened to my needs and offered a series of solutions and preemptively answered questions before I could mumble them out loud. Ended up with the perfect solution within budget. I called the given number and spoke with a pleasant enough young woman with a thick Asian, probably Indian, accent. After a long difficult discussion she seemed to understand my need for a Brother Ink jet printer repair. She nearly said that I HAD to let the Best Buy repair person come to my home. I finally said that I could take the printer to the repair desk at Best Buy without an appointment. I took the item into the store and ended up waiting for 20 minutes while the desk personnel walked around ignoring me. Finally I talked to one of the repair techs who then told me that I could make an appointment but they probably wouldn't be able to repair the printer even though he didn't even look at it sitting on the desk in front of him. The printer had stopped working because of a paper jam. I followed the instructions and cleared the paper but when I put it all back together it still said there was a paper jam. I repeated that procedure to clear a jam several times finding nothing. That is when I started trying get Best Buy and always ended up talking with the nice Asian lady again and getting no help at all. When I was at The Best Buy repair I had finally asked him if he knew of someone he knew in the Portland area who might help me. He gave me two numbers which I called while still in the parking lot: one number was no longer in service and the other said she didn't know what I was talking about and I went home disgusted with Brother Printers and Best Buy. I made an appointment for 2:40 2/16/2026. I arrived 10 min early and went back to the desk where the GEEK SQUAD works. There were two employees about 10' away having a conversation and a customer on the other side of me apparently waiting for her salesperson. After about 5 min an elderly couple came up and stood next to me waiting as well. A couple minutes later Owen a salesperson came from the back then said something to his customer who was sitting and he walked directly to the older couple and asked if he could help. I then said I was next as I have been standing here before them. He told me he was going to help them first. All I was looking for is ok who was next and only got I'm going to help them first. I told him I was going to cancel my appointment and he just replied OK. I certainly would have thought the lady manager would have at least asked me if she could help but I got nothing. You can go to school for years and get as much education as possible, BUT if you lack great people skills your business is in trouble. Very poor return policy. I got a gift for Christmas, but being super busy I finally got around to opening it, and upon opening it, it doesn't work. The product is in great shape, although it is open box, they basically acted like I was being unreasonable asking for a return after a couple months Very disappointing. If you do buy somebody a gift from Best Buy, be sure to let them know that they need to act within two weeks or else they're not going to be able to return it. Poor customer service frown. The worst part is, this is a gift that I wanted, computer speakers, I would be willing to exchange except store, credit, etc., and of course I have the receipt but no dice. read more

Store was well stocked a week before Holiday sale kickoff. They had pre Black Friday sales going on. I was able to find the items I was looking for and when I wasn't able to locate on the salesperson went to the back to find it for me which was great service. Best Buy nowadays seems more like a warehouse where you pick up online orders than an actual store. There are products on the floor, but it's a shadow of its former self. I remember when there were rows upon rows of CD's, cassettes, DVD's, Blu-Rays, etc. Now the store feels much more open and clean, but along with it, there are hardly any people shopping here. I am pretty sure there were more people working than shopping. I put in an online order and it said it would take about an hour to pick. I waited a few hours then stopped by, and was told the warehouse team hadn't picked it yet. The employee went to check it; after some time, another employee approached me and I explained to him what was going on. He reached out to the team and they told me they didn't have a timeframe- this irritated me for obvious reasons since the website said one hour, and now they were telling me there was no timeframe whatsoever. What the heck? At that point, I decided to go out on the floor and found what I was looking for. Cancelled the online order and then bought my item, which completely defeated the purpose of ordering online! So for everyone on here wanting to make an online order, take my advice and don't. Just go inside- or better yet, go to Amazon or Newegg. The annoying part is that the initial employee helping me was off putting and slightly rude; I generally don't care about customer service and whether it's great or not. But the way he interacted with me was dismissive and he even interrupted me at one point. The second employee was much friendlier and apologetic, however. It's not worth coming here unless you want to take a look at something or there's a killer deal- even then, you're better off ordering from their website. Best Buy in Tualatin is very clean and spacious. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable while the customer count is currently sparse, which makes it a rather safe store to shop in. Currently, there are more staff than customers. We were assisted by a saleswoman who was wearing a Lenovo shirt, and she appeared to be well versed in the product line. We were trying to order a newly launched Lenovo, which they did not have in stock. She conferred with another saleswoman as to what the policy was, on new products. Unfortunately, they cannot take orders for new items that are not in their system. Honesty, is the best policy. BTW, they will price match on items that they do carry. read more

Looking for a new Samsung TV, I wandered into Best Buy. While you can definitely order online, a TV is something you need to see in person. Funny how small the 50" TVs look now a days! The service rep was very helpful, explained the features - in layman's terms - and helped with providing comparisons amongst various brands. We are not ready to make a decision yet as we are waiting for furniture to arrive. It is for a small room and absolute measurements are critical, but I now have a short list for when the time is right. Like all Best Buy's, they have all your tablet, computer, phone, TV, stereo needs covered as well as washer, dryers, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and small appliances. Store is clean and well organized. They are conveniently located right off the I-5 exit, which is why I stopped in after visiting the Swan Island Dahlia Farm, and plenty of parking out front. read more

I contacted Best Buy in Tualatin, Oregon on March 7 to check if a MacBook Air was available during a promotional sale. To prevent an unnecessary trip, I asked the agent if he was at the store to verify the product's availability, and he assured me he was. Throughout the call, my dad and I were asked intrusive personal questions. The agent asked how old I was and commented about my plans for the future.  It seemed sketchy, so we considered driving up to the store ourselves. However, the call agent told us that it was in our best interests that we buy it immediately. Believing the call center's confirmation, we went ahead and bought the laptop. We drove across the city to pick it up only to be told it was out of stock, despite the enthusiastic assurance that it was ready for us. I called to speak directly with someone at the store to avoid this very hassle, and instead, I was connected to an overseas call center, where I received misleading information. The experience wasted our time and fuel. It became more of a hassle than a good deal. Fortunately, Wren, a helpful and nice employee at the store, found a replacement. However, the situation became worse when we were told that we could only receive the product my dad had already paid for if we canceled the original order and repurchased it, forcing us to pay twice for the same item in one day. This was not only outrageous but also deeply disappointing and costly. No compensation or guarantee of a better future experience was offered to us. And we were not the only ones who experienced poor service,  misinformation, and inconvenience from the call center. Other customers have also reported being directly lied to and manipulated. This has been an ongoing problem and a sign that Best Buy does not care about its customers. Because of this, my dad and I will not go there again, and we strongly advise you to do the same to avoid the hassle. read more

I placed an online order for a Frame tv and paid $250 extra to have it mounted. That was a month ago and I still do not have an ETA on when it will be scheduled. I cannot schedule the appointment online because I get an error and broken web page when I try. I've talked with countless customer support agents as well as a representative at the store that was fulfilling the order and no one seems to be able to do anything. They can't cancel the order, they can't schedule the delivery, they can't reprocess the order, nothing. All anyone can do is create an escalation which has happened 4-5 times now, no one has reached out as promised from these escalations. Geek Squad will not provide an installation time until the morning of the assigned date forcing me to hold an entire day for a 30 minute install. I almost stayed away from this location because of the ratings and I wish I would have. I recently purchased a refrigerator at this location and it had a water dispenser and ice maker. I just moved into my new home so for me this was an exciting time, getting new appliances, unpacking, all the new homeowner things. Well... my home just so happened to not have a hookup for that and so I needed one installed. Best Buy offers it through a third party company and you obviously pay an additional price on top of the appliance price. No big deal because I trusted Best Buy. My fridge purchase was second week of February and the install appointments were behind so that wasn't until March 1. Feb 28, I got a phone call reminder from a live person (the guy doing the install) reminding me that my installation was the next day between 7am-10am. Well Monday came and went and the guy was a no call no show. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were running behind and so I waited until 11am to start making phone calls. I wasted 30-60 minutes trying to get a live person and one of the times I was given a hold time of "3 minutes" and was on hold for 20 minutes and the phone disconnected me. I had to go to work so I called Tuesday (the next day) and Geek Squad Ferdinand is telling me that I have to wait 24hrs to get assistance... which is weird considering it had already been 24hrs, no explanation. So I say okay fine. Waited another 24hrs (now March 3) and had another bad experience waiting to get a live person the phone. Well luckily I got Tiffany and she had the best customer service. She listened to the problem, apologized and waited on hold with me for over an hour while we were both transferred all over the place to get this rescheduled. She finally got someone that told us they would reschedule me for March 24... I was not okay with that. I was basically being punished for someone else messing up and missing my appointment. Well Tiffany worked it out and got them to schedule it for Monday 3/8 in the same window. Again I got a phone call the day before reminding me and it was the same guy from the week before. This time he actually showed up. So far the water and fridge is working great. Next issue I ran into was calling Best Buy on 3/16 to let them know that what happened was not okay. I was on hold for 8 minutes and Michael with Geek Squad answered and as soon as I explained what happened he said "oh I see on the account here..." and hung up on me. He had confirmed my phone number but didn't even bother calling back. So I had to call AGAIN, I waited 10 minutes for someone to answer and Chelsea assisted me. She listened, apologized and attempted to make things right. It seems to me, Best Buy does not feel that my time and business is valuable. It surely has gone downhill. I was not going to go through them because of what happened when I purchased my washer/dryer from them. They damaged a wall in my home and did nothing to make that right. I decided to give them a second chance and after having a no call no show and them hanging up on me and giving me the run around. I will go elsewhere in the future for any major appliance purchases. I've been more than happy to share my experience with all my family and friends, especially if they say they are appliance shopping. They lied to me. Clearly lied to me. I came in looking for a logitech orange wireless dongle, the website said it was here. I approached the information desk, and he told me it was not here. He said you have to look at details on the web page to determine if in store. THEN he said you can buy a $9 keyboard with the dongle unit in it down the aisle by the keyboards. I asked him again to be sure, and he said yes. Strange, I thought to myself, aI complete wireless keyboard for less than the dongle I went down the aisle and spoke with the representative there. He said he never heard of a keyboard with a wireless dongle for less than $30. I was clearly lied to. This place totally sucks. I had a similar experience at the Medford store there the floor representatives knew virtually nothing about the products that they were trying to sell. To add insult to injury, I tried to return an item I purchased less than two weeks ago and they could not find it on the credit card, but they were happy to take my email address to do a further look up but I had to agree to the marketing material and I refused. Where to start. I was installing a few new PC parts to my build, and messed up the CPU. Bought a new one and took it to this location, being a total tech member, and had them install it for me. They told me it'd be an easy install on Friday. Saturday rolls around. I haven't received a call. I try to call Best Buy and it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to get through to the store without being directed to a call center. Must be nice to work somewhere that no one can call. Anyways, I decided to show up and check on my computer. Brought my partner with me. Despite ME (a woman) being the one to ask the geek squad dude (Aiden) my questions, he would turn away from me and answer them to my male partner. I was a manager at GameStop for 5 years, so I'm no stranger to sexism in tech, but this was ridiculous. Find out my PC is not ready. Aiden says "well they had to reinstall the OS." ...Uh. Yeah. I was putting in an entirely new CPU. Of course the OS needed reinstalling. He tells me it should be ready by EOD and that I'll receive a call. He then says they're reinstalling all of my media for me, which is why it's taking so long. Normally, that would be a nice gesture, except I could have done that myself. I just want my PC since that's how I do my work, but fine. EOD comes. No call. On Sunday I show up after work thinking maybe they just forgot to call me. At this point I'm getting tired of driving to this damn location. Some other dude tells me it's still "updating files." I say, what do you mean? He tells me my "hard drive wasn't formatted correctly" so they had to wipe it and the download everything. This feels like user error to me, considering at no point in time should my hard drive have even been touched. Keep in mind, I only needed the CPU installed with a heat sink fan. The end. They tell me I'll definitely get a call when it's ready. I leave. No call. This morning is Monday and I just showed up as they opened to get it back. Dude tells me it's been finished since 4pm the day previous. No apology for not calling me. I get my PC home and get everything set up. My files that they said took a day and a half to download? They're not on my computer. Everything is on the cloud which I then have to manually move over myself. I'm livid. These people do not know what they're doing. They take 4 days to install a CPU then dick around doing shit I didn't ask them to do. They won't look me in the eyes when I'm asking a question but are more than happy to talk to my male partner. I'll never be coming back to this location. Oh, and then to top it off, the guy who gave my PC back at pickup tried to say I didn't bring my power cord with it when I dropped it off. Me: How do you wager that you turned it on for me then? Him: ...I'll check the back. Lo and behold, my cable came out a moment later. There's a reason this location has 2.5 stars. read more

This store is great. They have a good selection of stuff from video games and computers, to phone accessories, to kitchen appliances. The location is a little awkward, since they're in the back of a busy shopping center with the only exit at the opposite side of the plaza, but the store is worth it. Their return policy is painless. When I bought the wrong phone case, I brought it back a few minutes later, and got a full refund from customer service. When I was shopping for a new computer, even though they were sold out of the model I wanted, I was able to buy it outright anyway, and have it available for easy pickup from the store a few days later. Anytime I shop here, an employee comes by in a few minutes to ask if I need help with anything. They're a good store, and are always helpful. read more

Terrible customer service, AVOID. I purchased 6 xbox controllers from the Salem best buy 8 days ago. I lost my receipt and wanted to return (allowed under best buy policy for lowest credit), the items are sealed. I called best buy HR and they said any best buy can do this return for me and it's allowed under policy. I go into Best Buy Beaverton and a hispanic worker says he's fully allowed to do it for me, but then says I need a physical card. The day after, I attempt a return at Best buy tualatin, the General Manager, named Corbin, is Immediately very aggressive/angry and says No to everything I say, he refuses to help me and says "I can do it for you but I don't want to", he was extremely rude and wanted me to leave. He admits he's fully capable of doing the return but doesn't want to "for some reason". Little did he know my friend works at the same best buy, and quote on quote, after I left he began telling everyone that I am a thief and I stole all these items, and that Im trying to run a scam (IE defamation with no evidence). This is sad because in the past year Ive bought 2 MacBook airs from there for my family, crazy to see how the Tualatin General Manager treats customers. The very next day I go to best buy Beaverton and I speak with a manager named Ben, who is also very rood. I thought I was just having bad luck running into miserable managers. However, from his own words he says "I know you were at tualatin yesterday trying the return." So how does Ben, a beaverton manager know I was at the tualatin best buy? It seems that the General manager at Tualatin Is a narcissistic liar and enjoys to spread lies to as many people as he can. Not only is best buy going out of business very soon due to online shopping, but their sick and egotistical managers seem to be speeding up the process. They are chatting and laughing. Been about 10 minutes, so I go over to customer service and ask for help. I mentioned others are waiting and mentioned the 3 chatting sales folks. Reply was all were busy. 3 people in customer service and one was the manager. He never spoke or moved. Another 10 minutes have passed. I purchased several items from Best Buy before Christmas for Christmas presents. I live 1 1/2 hour away from the store. On Christmas, my son opened one of the items I purchased (an Apple charger cube) and the box was empty. I went back to the store today with my receipt and the empty box and the manager (Brandon) said there is nothing they can do about it. It's been too long, past the return date, yadee yadee ya.... etc... I said I don't want to return the item. I just want the item that was supposed to be in the box. He got pretty snide and said "Didn't you notice that the box was empty?" He started weighing it in his hand and saying: "I can tell that there is nothing in that box... how come you didn't notice?" I insisted that I did not notice. I purchased several items and, as the box is pretty small (a charger cube), no, I didn't notice that it was empty when I bought it. I was sent on my way, saying there is nothing they can do about it. In my book, they just stole my money and refused to provide the item. So I called Best Buy (the corporate number or whatever is on Google), and they said that since I purchased the item at a store, there is nothing they can do about it either and to go to the store. I said I just went to the store and they won't do anything about it. Basically, this is criminal. I paid for an item and didn't get the item. = stealing. read more

He seriously is amazing and has gone above and beyond expectations multiple times to make sure I was treated fairly during a mix up with an online purchase. It wasn't even his stores mistake and he took the time to correct it not once but twice. People like him make the world a less sh*tty place and I truly appreciate his help. If whoever Brandon's boss is is reading this - give the man a raise he deserves it X1000. read more

This is high on my list of places where I walk in and wonder how they are staying in business. The staff always seems to outnumber the customers and yet they never seem to be around when I need them. For example, why make your customers wait 10 minutes for one cashier? After all, they have a greeter 10 feet away, standing by his lonesome, with no one new to greet. That strikes me as one of those nonsensical store policies (You must not leave your post!). read more

Took a laptop there and they told me it would be ready on "Friday". I waited and waited, checked the website for the order no, called the store and nothing. Btw, when you call the store phone number, there is no option to speak to a human being and I tried them all several times. I finally drove 40 minutes and spoke to a manager and they told me it would be "next Friday" at best. No apologies from the manager for the misunderstanding. And oh yeah, I had to wait 40 minutes in line initially after I already had an appointment time. read more

I have no idea what is happening with this store. Usually it's very good and people answer phones, but not today! I placed an order online which was supposed to be ready for pick up today. The website says it's still being prepared (store closes in 30 min) I've been calling all day to no avail. No human has ever answered the phone. It's 5:34 they close at 6 and I'm currently on hold trying desperately to get someone on the line. So so so frustrated!!!! read more

Purchased four different items from Best Buy - Tualatin, OR. All four items completely died within a few weeks to a few months of purchase. The manager at this location refused to refund the money - I'll have to hire an attorney to fight this. I will never buy another item from Best Buy. Quality is so bad it won't last at all. The store refuses to stand behind their products. Now I'm out the money for the items. Furthermore, customer service is horrible - employees are extremely rude and won't be of help. Plus the lack of employees on the floor means you'll have to wait a long time for someone to help you. I had to wait almost 20 minutes for someone to come over to the customer service desk. Hopefully, people stop shopping at this location. I can see why Best Buy is closing most of their stores. read more
