My fur baby, Luna, was due for her rabies shot, and upon my arrival, I learned that Dr. Tang had passed away. First, I would like to send my deepest condolences to his family, staff, and clients. They probably thought I was crazy because the moment I asked about him, tears started forming, and I had to sit down before I completely ugly cried. Dr. Tang was a gentle yet strong man. He low-key scared me a little, but he was always so gentle and loving with my fur babies. He listened to my concerns, provided a plan of action, and never rushed to medication unless it was truly necessary. He was reasonable, compassionate, and genuinely cared. I am going to truly miss him. Luna has always been scared of the vet and groomer, it's just not her thing. Today was no different. We were greeted by the front desk staff, who were as kind and welcoming as always. We then made our way to the exam room, where the veterinary technician asked several questions, checked Luna's weight, and took her temperature. Next, we met with Dr. Moore. She was patient, gentle, and recognized that Luna was having a difficult time relaxing. She took her time with her, and before long, Luna warmed up to her. I'm happy to report that Luna is healthy, received her rabies shot, and we were never pressured into purchasing services or treatments she didn't need. It's sad to see some people come on here and tarnish this establishment and its staff. Dr. Tang set a high standard of care, and I believe he would be proud to know those standards continue today. Dr. Tang treated all my dogs for over 30 years. He never took advantage of extra unnecessary treatments and love all my dogs. I was heart broken to hear his passing last year. I bought a puppy last year, a sweet 3 months old Biewer Yorkshire Terrier. When I took my puppy for the third DA2PP at three months old, a replacement vet. Insisted that I will need to have total four DA2PP for my dog. December 9th for the third vaccine and December 26 for the forth vaccine. When I took my puppy there on December 26, they gave my dog DAPP vaccine, Rabbits vaccine, and oral Bordetella. There was no advanced notice or approval on both Rabbits vaccine and oral Bordetella/ there is one treatment on December 9th already. My puppy was 11 weeks old and 3.6 lb on Decamber 26. I was very stressed on more than one vaccine in one visit on a such young puppy under 4 lb and there was no owner approval. When I checked out my dog, I raised my concern and disappointed. All I got was " our tech has right to decide what your dog needs." My puppy came home can't move nor eat/drink for hours. I hold her the whole night and had a very hard time worrying if she would had bad outcomes. She was trained properly after two weeks in my house, but started bad behavior issues after December 26 vaccine trauma for three months until now. I don't think that I will bring her back to Best Care Pet hospital any more. It is sad, I worked with Dr. Tang for over 30 years and in the same location with same staffs since Dr. Tang moved to this location. I can't trust this clinic for my dogs any more. read more

Upon bringing my cat in today, I was so shocked to find out that Dr. Tang passed away. I have taken my cats here for over 20 years and they've received the best care from Dr. Tang, the vet techs, and receptionists. I was always so fond of Dr. Tang's ability to make us pet parents feel at ease with his no nonsense approach. May he rest in peace. I am very surprised by the recent negative reviews since Dr. Tang's passing. I felt compelled to write a review because my experience today was still nothing short of exceptional. The receptionists are still the same - so kind, patient, caring, and efficient. The AMAZING vet tech is the same as well. And the new vet, Dr. Moore, is a rockstar. She was incredible with my cat Leo and so thorough in giving recommendations, answering my questions, and easing my worries. I came in stressed out, and left feeling stellar. The costs were also as affordable as they had been in the past, nothing new here. I had seen some reviews claiming the new costs and "money grabbing" attempts are out of hand, and wanted to add my own two cents: I am someone who also does not like to be taken advantage of into spending more than is necessary, especially in such a vulnerable situation. That's a big red flag for me and a huge reason why I loved going to Dr. Tang - like so many of his other patients. His suggested care was always emblematic of the KISS Method (Keep It Simple, Stupid). He never suggested tests/additional procedures unless he truly deemed it necessary - and even then he didn't make it feel like life or death. However, it did take some emergency vet visits (whenever it was outside Best Care's hours) to understand how important and vital these additional testing/procedures can be for our pets. I just wanted to raise awareness that when vets suggest additional testing/procedures/etc., it really is to rule out any other illnesses and to ensure that the care your cat is receiving is adequate. I don't think it's always a "money grab". Of course there may be some bad apples that try to take advantage, but I truly don't believe they are here at Best Care Pet Clinic. Use your own discretion and don't abandon this amazing place because of recent reviews. Best Care Pet Clinic, thank you again for your care. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! The new management is focused on making money rather than caring for the animals. They are purely profit-driven now! If you care for your pets, take them with a more caring team. My aunt had a similar experience 2 months ago. She brought her dog in and they attempted to charge her around thousands of dollars after saying management had changed. She had better care for a fraction of the price elsewhere. On top of that, Shirley (front desk) was VERY rude and dismissive during our interaction. For a veterinary office, the lack of compassion was really disappointing. For a cash-based, non-insurance-oriented business, they need to reevaluate how they treat their clients and patients. Had a great experience here after another vet was unable to do a procedure. Dr. Tang was serious, but kind, and got along with our dog who is usually nervous with new people. Over a month ago took my dog here because it was a less expensive place for some treatment. Was given some medicine that made my dog sick, went back and forth, finally took him to another vet but was too late his issue became worse. Took my dog back home with more issues. A month later issue become worse and worse after coming to this place. So the other vet gave some options to treat him and I was told today was my dogs last day. I have never felt more comfortable in a veterinarians office then I have here at Best Care Pet Clinic! I brought my dog in because he was scratching himself non-stop and I tried everything. I walk in and the staff is very helpful. Linda and Julie operate the front desk and manage the appointments and were able to get me an appointment early in the morning. Best part about the whole office you actually get to see Dr. Tang and he's very one on one. Calm collected and very professional, he tells it how it is, which I respect. All and all my worry was turned to relief. Had to get two shots for allergies and the itching and I was set to go. We have been with Dr. Tang since 1997 and are absolutely heartbroken to hear of his passing. Reading all these stories really resonated with me. We first found him after spending thousands on useless testing for our Dobie. One visit with Dr. Tang and he looked at our dogs stomach and said he was allergic to the food and had us change it. He was also with us during the foxtail issues that eventually took our dobie from us and helped us take him over the rainbow. He also paid for my friends dogs surgery when his dog repeatedly kept breaking his leg and my friend ran out of money. Dr. Tang reached out to a surgeon he know who placed a titanium plate in him and Dr. tang wrote a $1000 check to cover the surgery. This man was a SAINT. Never made me vaccinate my little chi. And she's almost 20 years old and has barely had issues. She's tip toeing towards the rainbow and my heart hurts I don't have him to turn to. I am not one to ever write a negative review but I haven't had a poor experience like this in while with a business. My cats first visit at the clinic was a few months ago, where everything went fine. 07/23- her second appointment, given circumstances on my end and on the company's end she was late on receiving her vaccine and they explained they need to start over which I agreed and we proceeded. (Mind you no explanation from the clinic was given about the vaccines protection life during the first visit). Moving along, before her second appointment, the man at the front desk CALLED to confirm my appointment and asked if I could even come 30 minutes earlier which I agreed. (Let's not talk about the fact that they told me to come 30 minutes earlier but made me wait 45 minutes + to be seen that day) Anyways, their soonest appointment is minimum a month out, given their circumstances which I totally understand. Fast forward 08/16 I called because I remembered she had a vet appointment and wanted to confirm when. The woman on the phone states: "Her appointment was on 08/15 and that they sent me an email to confirm" then proceeds with, "we always confirm through email" followed by a $50 invoice they sent me (ya right). We all know calls get recorded, and they have always confirmed via telephone and even have called more than once when unconfirmed. Honestly, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. It seems like they just want you in and out of that door as soon a possible with minimal guidance and explanation. Not to mention, they want their clients to work around their circumstances, but lack customer service themselves. read more

I've been bringing my animals here for about 20 years. I was just there last week for a nail trim for my 14 y/o cat. I called this morning to try to get in for my 16 y/o dog and was told Dr. Tang died!! I am so sad to hear this news. While other commenters are absolutely correct about his lack of warmth to humans, he could literally touch your animal and tell you what was wrong. I never spent more than a few hundred dollars there and that was for surgery!! Their pricing was unmatched (nail trim - $22!). I don't know where I am going to go now. I absolutely trusted this Dr and staff. Huge loss to the community. He was a rare person with a passion for treating animals. Never cared about the dollar. RIP Dr. Tang.
