I am sad to hear that Dr. Tang has passed. He was an excellent diagnostician and his pragmatic approach was appreciated. He will be missed. "Your legacy is every life you have touched." -- Maya Angelou He was our vet for over 15 years because he provided the Best Care.

I don't.... but kinda wanna... go to Dr. Tang's!

After Dr. Tang's passing, and right around when my dog turned 10, we started experiencing all kinds of health issues. I found out the clinic was still open and decided to give it a try. Glad I did! Dr. Dempsey is an excellent and caring vet. So glad she's here! Armen, Linda and Shirley continue to exemplify attentiveness, care and compassion. Many old time customers might not be used to getting their pets blood drawn and/or getting a swab test, but guess what, sometimes it needs to be done to get a proper diagnosis or rule something out. All the "extra" things this clinic recently did to help properly diagnose and treat my dog probably saved its life. Let that sink in. Much love to this great staff and may Dr. Tang rest in peace!

I am so saddened to hear of Dr Tang's passing. He was truly one of the best veterinarians around. We need more like him and he will be so missed. I would like to attend his funeral service if possible so I can pay my respects. He took care of my pets for about 20 yrs.

I just heard about Dr. Tang passing and feel a bit like I lost member of my family- he took such good care of all 3 of my dogs over the last 23 years. He will be deeply missed and his care greatly appreciated. Rest in Peace Dr. Tang with all the 4 legged angels keeping you company and Thank you- Suebelle, LacyB., Bubbu, and Pearl\

We have just heard about dr Tang passing and our family is in shock! Dr Tang was amazing and caring about pets like no one else and was making his work an art with his persona but also with his straight forwardness. We are going to miss him dearly.

Had a great experience here after another vet was unable to do a procedure. Dr. Tang was serious, but kind, and got along with our dog who is usually nervous with new people. He explained everything very thoroughly and we were aware of all costs for recommended treatment, with all options given. The front desk staff was friendly and communicated well by phone and in-person. Very satisfied with treatment and we are staying with this clinic!!!

Don't go here! It is a complete financial ripoff since Dr. Tang left. Horrendous, money hungry vets. Not caring; just looking at the $

Tang never once took advantage of anyone -- his prices were more than fair, and his integrity was unmatched.

Its not cheap, like $600 maybe cant remember, but we were taking our dog international and the country and airline required it. My mom said they were nice and friendly. DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PET HERE…read more I have never heard my dog scream in fear the way she did at this clinic. We brought her in for routine vaccinations, and instead of administering the shots with us present, they dragged her into a separate room. Within moments, we could hear her screaming, crying, and yelping in absolute panic. The sounds coming from that room were horrifying. My partner and I were sitting there in shock, genuinely terrified about what was happening to our dog. My partner was able to see through a window that multiple staff members were physically restraining her. She is a small dog, and I still cannot understand why the measure they took was needing several people forcibly holding her down or why the procedure continued while she was in such extreme distress. This wasn't a brief reaction--it went on for several minutes while she screamed. We have had dogs our entire lives. This was not normal. We have taken her to other veterinarians for vaccinations before and never once experienced anything remotely close to this. She has always done fine with shots. We have never heard her make sounds like that before. It was genuinely traumatic to witness, and I can only imagine how traumatic it was for her to experience. What made it even worse was the complete lack of concern afterward. There was no meaningful acknowledgment of how distressed she had been, no explanation that made the experience feel justified, and no indication that anyone cared about the emotional well-being of our pet. To add insult to injury, this clinic is incredibly expensive. For the prices they charge, I expected compassionate care, attentive staff, and a veterinarian who genuinely cared about the animals being treated. Instead, we left feeling like our dog was treated as a problem to be restrained rather than a living creature deserving patience and care. This experience completely destroyed our trust in this clinic. We will never bring our dog back, and I would strongly encourage other pet owners to think carefully before entrusting their animals to this practice.

Before Hillcrest, we had another vet for years - it could take days to get appointments, recommendations were unclear, and I always felt rushed. One of my dogs had chronic pancreatitis and we were constantly on medication, in and out of ERs, and felt helpless. Finding Hillcrest a few years was a relief. Dr K immediately recognized that my dog had serious food allergies - we changed him to vegan food and he hasn't had to be hospitalized since . They are kind and compassionate but straightforward and honest and will love your pets like their own. Dr K provides very clear financial estimates before proceeding so anyone complaining about cost knew what they were agreeing to in advance. Our dogs are our babies and I trust the folks at Hillcrest completely with keeping them safe and healthy.

My dog has formed a small lump in between one of his paws & it was leaking puss. I went ahead & called Hillcrest & the receptionist was able to get me an appointment for the next day instead of having me come in as urgent. Once I was with the vet, they looked at his paw & concluded that this might have been caused by a fox tail. I tried to explain that I didn't believe that was the case since I had not walked my dog around the neighborhood yet nor were there any foxtails by my home. They were pretty convinced this was still the case despite me mentioning maybe an ingrown hair or some other cause. The vet didn't really listen to my opinion & instead recommended my dog either be given medication or go under the knife. Personally, recommending surgery was a ridiculous suggestion in my opinion. It felt scummy. I went with medication, bandaging & cleaning his wound. It totaled to about $403. In the end, the bandaging they did on my dog gave him a new wound that required me to take him to a different vet 2 weeks later. Turns out, the initial lump was just a symptom of my dog having allergies! Condensed Version: -Staff: Super friendly & accommodating. -Veterinarian: They could do better in listening to the owner, especially before jumping to surgery. -Location: Parking in the area was terrible. -Price: Expensive, $403, they kept insisting I buy certain things despite me saying I already had something similar. -Overall Impression: I appreciate the staff willing to accommodate us at the last minute. However, my dog developed a NEW wound due to their bandaging so I had to take him to a different vet. Recommending surgery was a big red flag to me, turns out, it was just allergies! I would have a hard time returning back in the future.
