I've been to other locations of Moongoat Coffee Roasters, and I continue to be a fan of the brand but this location was slightly less satisfying than the products I had at their other locations. The location has plenty of parking and plenty of seating. There is an outdoor patio, and inside there is a first floor seating area, and a second floor seating area. The interior had high ceilings and modern practical decor. Staff will take your order at the cashier, but they also have a kiosk if you want to avoid human interaction. I was here for a few hours, so I started off with a hot beverage since I saw that they have mug service. I had the hot Churro Latte ($8.15/large) and I was warned it's a bit sweet so staff suggested that I get it less sweet. I appreciated the gesture but maybe that's why I didn't taste too much of the churro flavor. It tasted like a good regular latte but maybe they held back on the caramel and cinnamon to the point I couldn't detect it. Seating is first come first serve. It was actually really busy and difficult to find an ideal spot. Since I was alone I sat at a high top ledge, strategically near an outlet. From what I saw, they had a really good amount of outlets in the indoor seating area. Later on I went back and ordered an iced Blueberry Lavender Matcha with Cold Foam ($9.25/large) and a Deluxe Avocado Toast ($15) which comes with egg, bacon, and herb oil. I like that this location serves the avocado toast with a knife and fork cause it was much needed. It was a bit on the wet side. Maybe I should ask for light herb oil next time. For how much this avocado toast cost, I would have liked more avocado. The avocado was more of a spread, not whole slices of avocado. Still good, just an observation. The blueberry lavender matcha was okay. I could taste the lavender but it was overpowering the matcha and the blueberry was hard to detect at all. Honestly the location and plentiful seatings is what stood out most from this experience. I would consider coming back since I know their products are good from trying their other locations but I wouldn't get the drinks I ordered this time. For how expensive coming here was, I wish I was a little more satisfied. read more

The cafe itself is really nicely decorated with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I came on a Friday and it didn't start to get really busy until around 2:30pm-3:00pm, but even then there was still seating. They offer free wifi as well on your receipt, and I had no issue with connecting. I ordered the blueberry lavender matcha without the cold foam and the Italian focaccia sandwich. The matcha was pretty good and the sandwich was decent. I liked the variety of food options, but for some reason the drink menu confused me a bit. Also, their drinks and food are definitely on the pricier side, with the highest prices of any coffee shop I've been to. Granted, it's only $1 or so more but it is something to note. There is plenty of parking and it's right off of the 22 freeway, so check it out if you want a nice place to study! read more

Their breakfast biscuit is one of the best breakfast items I have ever had!! That alone is worth 5 stars and a trip here to try it yourself. The biscuit was so fresh and had the perfect texture. All the ingredients were high quality and it was so flavorful. I loved that it wasn't too heavy, but was incredibly satisfying and filling to start the day. The cafe mocha was alright, probably wouldn't order that again in all honesty. Service was friendly and the interior had plenty of seating available with some decorations to liven things up. There's a nice outside area as well with some shade, but all the seats were taken when I went. I had such a wonderful experience at Moongoat Coffee. I loved that they had a stack of menus near the door so customers can figure out what they want as they are waiting in line. For drinks we ordered an iced americano topped with sea salt cold foam and a hibiscus iced tea sweetened with honey. My iced americano was delicious. The coffee itself was smooth and the sea salt cold foam provided a hint of sweetness. The hibiscus tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. You know it's going to be TEA when the drinks have crushed ice . Their bagels are fluffy and delicious. My egg sandwich had arugula, cheese, and bacon. The bacon is cooked more crispy, which I love. My husband said the salmon bagel was "so f'n good" and that the cream cheese was excellent. When you dine in, the staff brings out the food to your table. The employees were so nice and provided service with a smile. We loved the ample indoor space and extra seating outside that's covered. read more

I remember noticing this place just after it first opened. I ignored it for the longest time before running across it in my Yelp! Recommendations. I gave them another look, and was surprised by what I saw: They weren't just serving coffee and pastries, they were serving actual food! Pleasantly surprised, I decided to give them a try. Looking over the menu, I already knew ahead of time what I was going to order. Then came the day I gave them a try. I had Volunteer work that same day, so, I got there bright and early. When I walked in, the place looked upscale, but, not someplace where the 2% hang out. Upscale, yet, modern, but, not hipster. You can order at the counter, or, use the ordering kiosk. I ordered a Breakfast Bagel Sandwich, and a Buttermilk Biscuit & Egg Sandwich Deluxe. My order was ready within 15 minutes, which is reasonable. Both sandwiches were delicious, and surprisingly filling! I was worried that I wouldn't have room for the Biscuit Sandwich, since I finished the bagel sandwich first. The Bagel Sandwich, texture-wise, was perfect, as far as I'm concerned. Not rubbery at all, and easy to bite into. The Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich was perfect, too. Their MaChaga (mushroom matcha) is pretty good and I've had various desserts as well that are good. What I am not as much a fan of is the layout/seating here. It feels dark and dingy on the top floor and if you can't get a seat at the larger table, you'll have to squeeze into the corner table. On the first floor, there is also a larger table but I've been kicked out of it before by staff who have told me they're having a meeting there. There is smaller tables, stool seating around the bar and then sofa seating (which is good for chatting but I'm usually there to work on my laptop). As a result, I wouldn't prefer to work here - just to grab a sandwich/drink to-go. read more

I love that this place opens early at 6am and has plenty of parking right next door to a church. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor patio. There are two parking spaces in front for 10 minutes. We got churro latte and banana matcha latte. I have to say that their coffee is better than their matcha. They are a local coffee roaster and have multiple shops. The first sip of coffee was strong but then it went away and didn't stay consistent. The matcha was "green" but had no taste of matcha. It was full of milk and sweetener. Still good but sugary. Whenever there are foam toppings, I refrain from mixing and I sip. That's the best way to get the mixture of the drink plus the topping. The banana was subtle and not too strong. I've had banana coffee and that's a hit or miss but never had banana matcha. It was a great combo. Once it melted a bit, I mixed the foam and that made it even sweeter. I think getting oat instead of whole milk and see if they could reduce the sweetness level would be more to my liking. They have pastries and offer food. This is my favorite location compared to the one in Newport Beach. I live pretty close to the Garden Grove location and go to school near the Newport so the lack of consistency when it comes to customer service is entirely different at the Garden Grove location. The service here is always friendly and welcoming every time I come in. It's a great place to study because it was a ton of seating but the outlets are limited and usually the seats are always filled up. My favorite food items that I almost always get are the overnight oats, the slightly salted chocolate chip cookie, and the always hot pizza pocket. read more

Pros: free wifi, quiet and relaxing Cons: There aren't many outlets except for the large table and the lights are kind of dim I got the iced pumpkin latte and would say it's a 7/10. I really like the cream (bc it's sweet) but the actual latte doesn't have that much pumpkin flavor. It was just a little bitter. It was 6.75 for the small size (12oz) and costs more for every add on/mods. My new favorite drink is the iced Toasted Matcha with hojicha. The aroma was bold, like coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, and I like my tea strong. I substituted oat milk and it balanced the tea out, making it smooth and not bitter at all. They also have cafe style food options and sweets. So you waste time in line, then waste time looking at the menu and ordering just to then be told they only take card. The Fresno Pepper Jam gave it a savory, sweet and lightly spicy kick to a simple breakfast classic. The biscuit was nice and crispy on the outside and moist within.
