When I first walked in I was greeted by Michael who immediately picked up Maxx and held him to his chest. I could see how safe Maxx felt right away and felt secure leaving him with Michael. I'm very disappointed that I was quoted one price and when I arrived to pick up my dog it was more and when I questioned it, I was told because he was hyper, (he is 3 and half and was nervous) the girl showed me a video, I'm not sure what they saw, but he looked pretty calm while they were cutting his face! I dont know if I will go back, I dont like showing up to a surprise price hike. There are many dog grooming places. I have a 10 lb Maltese. I love to bring both of my fur babies here, everyone is so sweet and caring. They have smiles on when they approach my babies (they get very nervous easily) causing them to be calm and go with the groomers with such ease. I can safely leave my babies here and I know they are in good hands. Not to mention, they always look so dapper and thankfully, they have not nicked my little girl (she's chunky and super furry). I had a TERRIBLE experience here. I've taken my 38 pound poodle here about 5 times before and they did a decent job although they charged me for the dogs over 45 pound price, but I paid, left a large tip and returned because they were recommended by my groomer up north and I like the cage free aspect. I live 20 minutes from the salon so it's a schlep to go there. I plan my schedule to take my dog to the beach before the grooming appointment for a romp. So she is wet and sandy and really needs this bath! I made the appointment for this morning at 11:30 during my last appointment at pick up. Weeks in advance. The groomer called me 2 days ago to confirm my 11:00. I said yes, it is confirmed but it's for 11:30 and will be getting there after 11. The young man said "No problem". Well, I came in at exactly 11:30 and a very odd man child shuffled papers around, ran into the back for a consultation, hemmed and hawwed for 5 minutes!!! I finally asked what was going on and he said "Well you didn't confirm your appointment" !?! I said I did confirm! (Since when do people call and confirm grooming appointments???) He said nothing just stood there. Another 5 minutes. So weird. So I asked are you taking the dog and he said no. I said when you you take her? Keep in mind she is wet and sandy from the beach. I say how can you do this? Please take her. I offer extra money. He just stands there. "Please honor the confirmed appointment, this isn't right" I am polite, hoping he would do the right thing. Nope. He finally says bring her in early on Tuesday and I see he is smirking. Now I realize he is messing with me!! I'm practically in tears as this has messed up my whole day. I say I live 20 minutes away and I need to return things to Bealls, can you watch her for 10 minutes. He says no. I ask if he will comp or discount the appointment on Tuesday. He says nothing. So, I say, you are not being honorable and he SMIRKS again. I actually felt it was discriminatory the way he treated me. DISGUSTING way to treat a returning recommended customer!!! Finding a good dog mobile groomer can be tough. I had searched google and didn't find anything I liked at a good price and that had availability. I didn't want to wait 3 weeks to get my dog groomed. I then remembered seeing the bright Pink Best Friends truck from time to time on the road and thought to give them a call. They had the next day available for me and at a fair price!! I had my toy poodle fully groomed and my pit bull had her nails trimmed and a bath along with ears cleaned. They take one dog at a time. The dogs smell so so good when coming out of the truck! My Toy poodle was exactly how I wanted her. In past experiences at other places like PetSmart the groomer always shaved my poodle completely down and she looks so skinny and you can see her skin. Best Friends listens to what you want and delivers that. If you are looking for a certain look for your dog best bet is to show them a picture. Both my dogs liked the groomer and had no problem going with him and came back to me happy. After my first experience which was a couple of months ago they had given me a call asking if I wanted them groomed again which was good because I definitely did and just honestly kept forgetting to call. They were able to book me for that week and I am please to say my dogs look just as good as the first time we used them. This place is the worst. They lost an appointment, AFTER confirming. Then they raised the price. Actually, the price changed every appointment. I was quoted one thing and then charged a different (higher) amount. Then they called two days before another appointment saying they had to postpone, but couldn't tell me when we could reschedule for. I am a groomer from ny and have a home here in boynton beach. I came here with my rescued Maltese emi who desperately needed a bath. Best friends is very close to my home and I figured I would give them a shot since I didn't want to do it myself. They took her on a short notice and did a beautiful job. I was leary having another groomer do my dog, I am so happy and so was emi. They will be my go to groomer when I am in Florida. They were very nice people. I am very dissapointed with best Friends Pet Grooming. Not necessarily with how our dog's grooming turned out, but because of their dishonesty. When I set up the appointment over the phone, I was quoted a price for a full grooming. Four hours later my husband picked my Maltese and he was told a different price. He saw the receptionist scratch off the original price I was quoted over the phone and write a higher price on the receipt. My husband calls me from his cell and tells me what happened. I then called the salon and the lady said their prices had gone up and the girl at the register did not know. She also told me that my dog was a lot of work and it took her three hours to groom her, (they did't even trim her ears). In any event, I will not be returning to this groomer. I am furious with this place. I have patronized this place for almost a year. They did not do what I asked them to do. My Shih Tzu always needs to have his eyelashes cut and his ears trimmed and his tail left as is. VET advised me to have the eyelashes done and they failed to do this job.I specifically sat with the groomer, not who I always used, who was someone I never had before. They have it in the records as well that is what is expected. So I contacted them only for them to give me one time at 2:30. I told them I can not do 2:30 any time this week. Well she insisted that is all she would do, Including the manager. I told her repeatedly that I or my husband were not available at that time. HER STAFF IS TO BUSY to accommodate any other time. !! They did a lousy job. My husband could have advised them at the time but he did not know and I called immediately as soon as he got home I can't do anything about his tail. I said I can come on Tuesday next week she said NO matter of factly. It would require her to take time. They are closed on Monday. She kept repeating that's it. Why not on Tuesday because then it would take her longer. I paid them to do a lousy job and not willing to correct it except at one specific time. Is there flexibility?NO! I am writing this note to let you know the quality of their work has changed and not acceptable. On next door people were asking for a groomer I certainly advised not to them I have to go somewhere else and pay again to get the right job. I am sure the owner will respond but there is no excuse for her work or her customer service or her attitude or her lack of ability compromise to provide another time besides 2:30. How long will it take to do his eyelashes and his ears. Anyway I am searching for a place that does a good job. Any recommendations. Yes this was a tirade but I am so angry. read more
