We have been loyal customers here for almost ten years. Generally the service has been good and the employees were very attentive to our dog's needs. Grooming services have been okay but from time to time they cut too close and nicked our dog. There was nothing bad enough to warrant a terrible review though for our entire time here. However, we just picked our dog up today. He is an older dog and is blind. We made sure to let them know of his blindness when we dropped him off for a four-night stay on 11/11/21 . When we picked him up he was visibly distressed and dirty. As we drove him home we smelled urine and upon closer review his head was covered in dog urine. It's bad enough that our blind dog was being peed on by other dogs. It's totally unacceptable to return our dog to us in that condition. Our ten year loyalty is over at this point. I won't be taking our dog back here ever again. read more

They offer an extensive menu of "extras" including playtimes, special treats, bedtime stories, etc. Best Friends offers multi-pet discounts, and they have a loyalty rewards program where you can earn free nights the more you stay! The staff is always friendly and seem to genuinely care about their guests. If you provide an email address, Best Friends will send you a picture of your pet from a playtime during their stay... we always look forward to that! The only negative thing I can say from experience is that the grooming service is only of average quality. We were super nervous about leaving our dog since last we left town, she didn't eat a thing in the last kennel and they didn't pay any attention to that. This resulted in her losing about 5 pounds...which on a 17lb dog is pretty terrifying. She came home tired with a severely hoarse voice, and generally miserable. We tried Best Friends because it seemed to be very friendly on our first visit and a nice atmosphere. We were not disappointed! The inside consists of a run which is half indoors and half outside, allowing them to walk around a bit and do their business separately. This place is fantastic as it sends you a picture of your pal upon their within a day or so of your leaving which gives you the peace of mind that is essential for a relaxing vacation. They offer lots of services either through package deals or a la carte. They is group play time or individual attention opportunities. A standard dog suite is $28 a day or $48 for the luxury suite. When we picked our dog up she seemed in good health and happy. They even washed her and the bedding before returning her to us! She had a bout of diarrhea when she got home and when we mentioned this to Best Friends, they were happy to pay for her vet appointment and medicine! Shows how it might just pay off to spring for the extra $14 health insurance! Overall, we had a great experience with Best Friends. I was thrilled to find this place. I've boarded my (big) baby boy a few places around town, but Best Friends Pet Care was really stellar. I love that they have suites that offer indoor areas and an outdoor patio, plus they let him play with the other big dogs during the day. The staff were all professional and seemed to enjoy having Keiser there. The best part? They sent me an email two days into his visit with a picture of him playing with the other dogs. Such a great touch! All in all, I felt like they took very good care of him, he got to play and have fun, and he had a good bath before he got home. I will be back! read more

My dog has been going to this facility for several years now. Although hes not a regular, he always seems to have a good time when hes there. When I leave him for an extended time they send me photos of him one of which is my phone screensaver! He enjoys playtime and I bring his food along. Like a lot of dogs he doesnt eat as much when hes boarding so I decrease his normal feeding amount. I always decline the insurance since I work in the veterinary profession and can get treatment at a discount. The check in process is pretty easy which I like especially since I am always in a rush. I've lived near this facility for years and I had to leave my puppy here last week before I went on a trip...Since it was for the doggie day-care only, I felt it was a good way to try out the location. Since I was leaving town, my friend was able to go and pickup my dog Lily. The first doggy day care appointment is free and helps you and the staff figure out if you are match for the facility. She very rarely gets to socialize with other animals and apparently she seemed to like the location. When we called to check up on Lily, they didn't make us feel crazy. I have been boarding my two big fur babies at Best Friends Pet Care for a couple of years now on a regular basis and I can't say enough good things about Best Friends! The location is very convenient and the price for an overnight stay for a dog staying in a standard dog suite is $28 a day - a real bargain for boarding a big dog at a kennel that is so centrally located! I enjoy receiving the e-mails with the photos that are taken of them while they are being boarded. My dogs seem to really look forward to going there and the staff, who is very professional and personable, seem to genuinely care about the pets who are boarded there. I also love the convenience of being able to make/change reservations 24/7 with Best Friends' online reservations tool. My dog has spent many days here and he seems to love this place. He is always excited when we drop him off. The facilities are nice and have room for the dogs to play and the staff even offers a play time for your pet. The staff is always friendly and nice. When you pick up your pet, they give you a report card to let you know how well your pet behaved. They will also send pictures of your pet to you while you are away. We gave them our harness and they used a leash that was causing her to cough. One of the dogs got loose inside. Postive, the classes she took paid off, told her to sit while they grabbed the loose dog who managed to get away several times before they were able to get him back to bath area. read more

The staff there is very friendly and attentive to my dogs needs. Cooper is a very large dog and they don't have any problems handling him. He gets lots of exercise and comes home with a shampoo and grooming when I pick him up. Hours for pick up and drop off are flexible and not as restrictive as some area kennels. read more

2nd part of my review here. Anyway, we left anyway and I didn't notice until after I got in the backseat with my dog, that she was indeed covered in urine, her paws, her underbelly, her tail were stained yellow, and she also smelled of feces, although I couldn't see any on her. I did not understand at all how she would be in the state. I took her straight to a pet store where I then started to bathe her. As I turned on the water hose she desperately started trying to drink the water, second red flag. I didn't understand how my dog could be so dehydrated and thirsty to the point where I had never seen her try to drink water as desperately as she did in that moment. After that I felt extremely unsettled. I stopped to get a gallon of water & bowl and set it down for her, she almost drank the entire bowl of water I'd sat out. I don't understand how someone who is supposed to have food and water with her and her bed was completely filthy and dehydrated and extremely anxious. Extremely upset, I did call the place and asked to speak to the manager. As I started to list my grievances, she wouldn't let me finish speaking. She interrupted me multiple times and made excuses as to why my dog was in that state. She verbatim said, I can coax her into her sleeping area but I can't not make her lay in her own pee. No one's here 24 hours so that's not my problem. That was enough to make me livid. We all know our dogs behavior what they do and don't do. Why would I believe that my dog who was supposed to have her bed in her sleeping area with her choose to go and sleep in her own piss instead? One that's not in my dogs behavior In the slightest. She said I should've paid for the additional bath as it's not free. She said if I was so upset about my dog being covered in pee then I should've paid extra for the added bath so that she could be clean before we picked her up. I'd actually taking my dog to get a bath the day before I dropped her off. She wasn't even in this facility for a full 48 hours. That should not explain and be the excuse as to why she is as filthy and as dehydrated as she was. I was completely disgusted with this woman's behavior, and it was clearly visible that she DID NOT care about the situation at all. She kept repeating the same thing, saying it wasn't her problem and no one's here 24 hours. My dog doesn't need supervision to not lay in her piss. Unless she was in a cage in the back and not really in a open space area like they claim. Since we're not allowed to see how the rooms are in the back, I really trusted that they would care properly for my dog. But I now know that that's not the case at all. Please take this review into consideration, this is the first yelp review I've ever written in my life. I would never write reviews like this if I didn't feel strongly that this place is disgusting and does not care about your animals. One thing I wish people understood is that this is not just a paycheck. If you're working at a facility like this, you should have proper training not just including customer service and social skills, but you have to have compassion for these animals, they are part of peoples families. It was so apparent that she didn't care and I was just so shocked at how someone was so careless with another person's pets. We put full trust in these types of facilities, only to be disappointed and disheartened. If I'm being honest, I cursed this woman out on the phone, after I realized that she didn't care about what I had to say. Although I'm disappointed that someone could put me in that state, I have no regrets. Please read this if you care about your animals at all, this is definitely not the place to take any of your pets to. Once again the supposed manager, who feels like she's in a high enough place of authority to just not care, is SHAY. I hope this is really helpful to some of you looking for a place. I heard rover Oaks is pretty good, and I would pay more at another facility ANYDAY, if the employees and manager actually had compassion for our pets. These beautiful animals are so forgiving and so loving and kind, I'll never stop protecting my pup, some people don't deserve to stumble into jobs like this, and I really, truly hope this doesn't go unnoticed. read more

I was hesitant first to board our beloved dog Brownie in this facility because of the distant from our house which was in Katy and the exterior of the boarding facility is quite outdated and old, but because of their reasonable cost of $28.00 per day, their smiling and accommodating staff, I finally decided to give it a try especially they even give you a free day of stay as a first timer and I was given a tour of the kennels which is acceptable for the price. I was pleasantly surprised also that they even had a slot for our dog even on a major independence day weekend on a short notice, the security guard on the parking lot, that makes the parking lot feel secure, the double security door on the front office for prevention of accidental running away of dogs outside is important to me and also when the day I picked up our dog who seems healthy and well make my decision worthwhile. Because of the duration of the trip I bought him extra play time. It was clear that he did not receive much attention during the duration of his stay AT ALL!! When I picked him up there was a a huge pile of poop and pee everywhere in his suite!!!! One of the workers lied like a child when questioned about the mess stating that my extremely potty trained dog who never has accidents "must have just did that because I was just in there and none of that was there" which was the biggest lie ever because the poop had clearly been sitting for a long while because it had already began to turn black!! Tbh most of it was black!!! It's very clear that these ppl should not be working with animals! Not to mention they were too incompetent to remove the harness before leaving him in his kennel. We have left our two pups there for the free boarding and daycare. I did watch them on the camera and the people didn't interact with the dogs (from what I was able to see on camera). However, that is fine with me as long as they don't mistreat them. They also have each other for company. Friendly staff and a great facility, but unfortunately, they provide terrible doggie day care service. I've taken my 5 month puppy here about 5 times for doggie day care. They tell you the dogs spend 4-5 hours in "playtime", that is in the yard with other dogs. In reality, the dogs only spend two hours total in playtime, one hour in the AM and one hour in the PM. The rest of the time, they are locked in a kennel. I got suspicious because my puppy would never come home tired after spending the entire day at Best Friends. So on a slow day at work, I watched their web cam, which shows live pictures from their yard and day camp room that gets refreshed about every minute. Sure enough, I got to see just how little time they make the dogs play. It was litterally one hour in the mid morning and one hour in the mid afternoon. When I picked up my dog later that day, I confronted the staff worker about the lack of playtime and she tried to tell me otherwise and made all sorts of excuses. But you can clearly see from their web cam when the dogs are in day camp and when they aren't. If you have a less active dog, then this place might work for you as it's a nice facility. However, I need someplace that will give my pup a better workout and I don't appreciate being lied to either. read more

This was my first time boarding my dog, although he's spent quite a bit of time at various doggy daycare facilities, and with different friends here and there. The person working the front desk when I got there was really friendly, and the place looked clean/nice. Plus with the great reviews here, I figured he was in good hands. Wrong. I dropped him off Friday afternoon, with plans to get him Tuesday evening when I got back into town. I got a call Sunday at 6:30 asking why I hadn't showed up to get my dog yet. The girl I spoke to was annoyed, and when I said I wasn't coming to get him she asked why a guy had called today if I wasn't getting him until Tuesday. She stressed that it was MY dog, with HIS first name AND my last name, which is FAR from commonplace. I did not tell anyone he was going there, and she 100% sure they called for my dog. So instead of spending my evening having fun, enjoying a night in New Orleans I spent the evening worried that someone was trying to steal my dog. She promised to put a note on his kennel to make sure no one would pick him up except me. I called the next morning and spoke to someone else who acted like it was ridiculous and unreasonable to call to verify my dog was still there. She said "OF COURSE he's still here. Why wouldn't he be?" and said "she was sure" it was just a mix up or the other girl had "misheard." I let her know I had a friend coming to get him, gave her his name and asked her to verify photo ID. My friend walked in, said he was there to pick up my dog, and without offering name OR photo ID they just handed him over. Security is CLEARLY not a priority. The original girl who called me eventually called again and said she wasn't sure HOW it happened, but there was a dog with the same first name at a different location and OOPS silly her. No one offered to apologize, and I was treated as if I grossly overreacted. SILLY ME for getting upset when I got a call that some guy was coming to pick up my dog against my will. The fact that they just handed him over to the first person who showed up for him EVEN AFTER this was really the icing on the cake though. He's home safe and sound, but has a case of diarrhea, his beard is all matted and gross, and he's not eating well. I asked for a bath, which clearly didn't happen. If there was a zero star option they would get zero stars. read more

I had high expectations for this facility after reading several satisfied reviews. Considering the first night was free for my 2 dogs, I decided to give it's try. My experience was disappiinting. None of the staff seemed to know much or anything (including the manager) and did not seem to care about any of my concerns. They tried to sell me on a $30 bath and I told them that I did not want that. However, the papers that the girl gave me to sign said I wanted a bath! I told her (again) that I didn't want baths for them and she said oh ok, no problem. To be sure, I scratched out the grooming services portion and wrote "no grooming." Two days later, I go to pick them up and one of my dogs has had a bath and I hear him crying from the grooming room where he had been locked up. After paying for a "luxury suite" for them, I was not happy about that, although I understand keeping him clean after his bath (that he should have never had). I was not charged for the bath, but this just confirms that they do not listen to your requests. My dogs seemed happy and very tired when I picked them up, so I was happy about that, but I wil not be returning or recommending this place because of the employees' lack of concern or knowledge of their services. I also forgot to mention that they did not even check my dogs' shot records before they boarded them. My dogs are up to date on all of their shots, but this makes me concerned that there are other dogs here that may not be. *Just an update: the manager did not attempt to contact me, despite their response to this review. read more

I had read mixed reviews about Best Friends Pet Care, but decided to take a chance on grooming since it was close and reasonably priced. The shop itself is nothing that stands out particularly, but my dog, and now I, have fallen in love with Sonya, and would trust no one else with my older and a bit grumpy fellow. Sonya may be the best groomer I have ever utilized in my 25+ years of owning, training and occassionally having to board various breeds of dogs. It is obvious that Sonya has a love of animals (and their owners) that I do not see in other employees of this establishment, but as long as she is an employee, I will trust this business to take care of my dog. It's not only her obvious love for the animals, it is her caring as she speaks to me about a variety of subjects, truly wanting to get to know me as well as my boy. If the other groomers showed half the life in their eyes that Sonya does, I might give their skills a chance, but am careful to call ahead and request her, and have been happy with her every time I have utilized their services. My lack of fifth star of this establishment is due to the lack of interest shown by other employees, which is so sad, especially because these animals are often scared being boarded, and passion for animals seems somewhat lacking other than as mentioned before. Pricing is good, however, and I've had no specific negative issues otherwise, just a niggling feeling that other employees are just "doing their job", no more, no less. If you try Best Friends for grooming, definitely call and request Sonya. She is well worth it, and you will be a friend for life! read more

This really matters to me, so I really hope you guys read all parts of this review. If you care about your pet and are looking to check this place out, then I care enough to take the time and write out these multiple posts if I need to. I was truly SO disgusted with this place. It was my first time taking my dog to a place like this, we've always left her with family and friends, but had a last-minute situation come up so I didn't have much time to find someone to care for her. I started looking up places, unfortunately they were all booked. So I came across best friends pet hotel. I was a bit concerned since the reviews were really outdated, spanning from 3 to 10 years ago. The most recent one was from two months ago, with someone writing in that they didn't understand how this place let two dogs escape out of the facility. Obviously it was really concerning, as the majority of these old reviews were hit or miss. STILL, I wanted to give this place a chance. Dropping her off on Saturday was great, I met Frank who was awesome. That first day he did text me updates and even sent pictures of my dog. The following Sunday when I picked her up she was covered in urine, and visibly nervous. I can understand how she would be nervous as it was her first time, but she couldn't get out of there faster. She ran past the two employees, and darted straight for the exit. We had brought her bed, with bedding on it. When we asked where her bed was, they were unable to find it. I didn't understand how they would misplace a bed that she should've had with her and her sleeping area. The "manager" Shay, then turned up with the bed from the back room, without the bedding on it. They claimed they had to wash it and that's why they couldn't find it, but it was obvious that they hadn't washed the bed at all. The bed and bedding were both stained and covered in hair. That was a blatant lie, and that was my first red flag. read more

We left our 4 month old puppy there for three nights. They took great care of him, made sure he got his medication and he even seems to have put on some weight so I know he wasn't too anxious. My only issue with this company is the dogs are asked to use a patio which is through a doggy door in order to go to the bathroom. For a dog that is used to a leash it's a bit difficult so they wind up just going in the room. At least this is what I noticed. I would prefer they walked the dogs to use the bathroom. Best Friends is awesome. We are totally confident in them taking great care of our English Pointer, Bobby. The facility is large and super clean. When we travel they send us the cutest e-mail updates "from" Bobby with a wonderful photo. We love that we can bring in his own food. The staff here is lovely! This business is one to trust with your pets!!!! They all appear to love animals and know a lot about dogs. The lobby is always clean and clear. There aren't ever any long lines to suffer through or crowded spaces to deal with on weekends. This business has enough space to host work with animals. They have enough space for the type of business coordinated. I love the matching uniforms and how the front desk staff always smiles when customers walk in. Questions are always answered immediately and there is always someone to pick up when you call. The best thing about this place is how big the play time spaces are for the pets. The location works for so many Houstonians in this part of town and these type of businesses are amazing for when pet owners have to travel or work long hours!!!! read more

We had two terrible experiences with this place, and think that's enough to ensure we will never go back. The first time, we did not see our dog at all on the website's "Live Cam." We kept calling and asking where she was, and they told us repeatedly that she was outside playing. When we finally picked her up, one of the personnel told us she had been removed from outside playtime all day because another dog was bothering her. First of all, I'm not sure why she was removed on this basis. But second of all (and most importantly), it is terrible to not receive accurate information (and be lied to, or misinformed about) our dog's whereabouts. For our second visit: our dog has a sensitive stomach, and we think she might be allergic to certain food ingredients. As per her vet's recommendation, we have her on a very specific diet. We sent her with exactly 3 cups measured out of her food, and we wrote specific typed instructions taped to the lid of the food. When she returned, we measured how much of her food was left, and there was still exactly 3 cups. Either Ruby did not eat while she was there (for 24 hours!) or was given some other food. This is incredibly terrible care, and we are shocked and disappointed by the level of service she received. I spoke to a manager who told me she would speak to the person in charge of feeding her, but I am still totally perplexed by the fact that nobody was able to give me a straight or clear answer as to what our dog did (or did not!) eat. We will never use these facilities again. Aside from reflecting terrible service, this is the sort of mistake that could 1) make a dog sick or 2) kill a dog who has a serious allergy. When looking after people's pets, who are living beings with specific needs, care should be taken to make sure their basic needs are met satisfactorily. read more

My mind is blown. We will never board our dogs here again. It was our first time boarding our dogs here as we are new to Houston. Our dogs spent two nights here over the weekend and thank goodness it was only two nights. When we picked our dogs up, my dog pulled me out the door forcefully (i thought he was just ready to leave) NO, he pulled me out the door and across the driveway to a grass spot so he could take a poop. That is when I began to think "I hope they let them out to use the bathroom today seeing that It was 2:00pm" Our other dog took a very long pee (She won't poop while on a leash anyway.) We got in the car and begin to drive home, our other dog was crying on the way home so we pulled over to a green area and let her off the leash, within SECONDS she took a poop. When we got home & out of the car our boy dog (the one that took the first shit) took another TWO shits in the PARKING LOT. Now my dog never does this, he can usually hold his bowels until we get to a green spot. I was BAFFLED, they really did not let our dogs out to use the bathroom. It crossed my mind that our dogs could have held their poop all weekend being in a weird environment but he is the type of dog that will go if he needs to go as soon as we get outside and it does not matter where it is, I can take him to different spots and he will poop wherever as long as he's on grass. Our other one is a little more picky-- she has to pick her favorite spot and does the twirls & everything. SO, we get home and take them outside to play & our girl dog shit's AGAIN. I find it very unlikely that BOTH my dog's held their poop all weekend on their own terms. And IF they did let our dog's out to use the restroom were they not being monitored if they did go???? Not to mention our dogs were EXTREMELY thirsty when we got home. So my ADVICE is that if you care about your dog being comfortable and treated well while you are away to steer clear of Best Friend's. I am so thankful that we did not leave our dogs here for more than 2 nights. If management of the company reads this my advice to you is that you get some new employees who actually do their job. read more

When I first pulled into this place and heard all the dog barking i didnt think of it as anything at first until the day I picked up my dog and she looked like she hadnt slept. I know they over charged me the pricing did not look like at all if the first night was free for her. The first day in they did give me a call letting me know my dog had fleas which she shouldnt have cause Ive bombed my house put flea and tick powder, sprayed all the furniture with flea and tick spray, bought all new beds, collar etc, gave her a medicaided bath, and put medicine down her back nd havent seen her scratching for weeks, vet said she was clear too, but I told them to go ahead with the 1 month supply medicine since she has came back shes been scratching more than ever so here i go again doing the process of getting rid of fleas,the day of pick up when we pulled in there were pets playing outside and a dog wouldnt leave another dog alone as i was getting the back seat ready for our dog my boyfriend heard one of the ladies yelling to get the hose why wouldnt u just go to the dog and tell them no! while we were waiting for one of the employees to get our dog we were looking in the suites and in one there was poop and pee in there looked like it was there a while, thats really gross makes me wonder how often they took the dogs out. My dog is usually really playful she usually stands on car ride and as soon as she got in the car she laid down nd went to sleep she never does that no matter how tired she is. When we get home she slept all day no moving or anything we had to keep checking on her nd waking her up to make sure she was alive cause if shes tired she snores but nothing it was completely quiet. She had diarrhea and was throwing up for a week didnt eat her food or drink water for 2 days, one night she came and sat next to my bf side of the bed she was shaking and breathing hard like she was out of breath but she was laying in bed asleep, i wasnt going to write a review I was just going to let it go until I talked to a friend who has alot of experience with dogs and told me she was drugged!! I had a bad feeling about this place when I first pulled in but there was no where else i couldve taken her last minute I feel like a horrible pet owner for having her go through this, one more thing when we did see her she had some kind of green chunky stuff on her back nd the picture they did send me she looked wet so I wonder if they did spray the dogs with a hose! If you love your puppy read this!!!! Will not be bringing my puppy back! Long story short i picked my bailey up a day early. When i got her i noticed blood on her front paw. I asked the worker what happened she said said she had been scratching at the door. Ok reasonable answer. When i got into the car i noticed a back paw had blood as well. Upon getting in my car i checked all her paws closely. My puppy nails were clipped when i did not request this to be done. Too short at that hints the bleeding!! I needed last minute dog boarding over a holiday weekend, and so I figured "beggars can't be choosers" and was just excited that Best Friends had space for my sweet spaniel. But this place surpassed my expectations! A definite step-up from boarding at the vet, and unlike some kennels there wasn't the "a la carte" system of paying for every moment of attention or playtime beyond the very basics. A single fee gets dogs a comfortable run, a lovey to sleep with, and (key for my social pup) 3-4 hours of group playtime outside! They emailed me a photo to show me what a great time he was having, and when I picked him up after 4 days he was happy and EXHAUSTED! He seemed to really enjoy himself, and I am so glad to have found this place! My only critique was that I would have liked the dog runs to have had a recent coat of paint to make it look nicer, but everything was very clean, no "doggie" smells, and my dog certainly didn't care about paint! read more

My dogs have been going to Best Friends for severaly years, and they are always excited to get there. When we turn onto the street they start pawing at the car windows they are so anxious to get out of the car and go in. The staff knows their names, and our lab goes right behind the counter (on her leash) to greet everyone. We couldn't be more pleased! read more

We have 3 cats who had never been boarded. I was very apprehensive about leaving them for 10 days. Visited several places before I came to Best Friends. The atmosphere was completely different. There is a separate area to board cats. Ours were in a 4 story "condo" with litter boxes on the 2nd and 3rd levels. While we were gone, we received pictures of our "kids" twice. That made us feel a lot better. Should we have the need, we definitely will choose Best Friends again. read more

Our dog had a fine experience being boarded here for 9 days. They sent us a picture of her during her stay, which was nice, and she came back happy and clean. The dogs each get their own little kennels, which are unfortunately in a large concrete room that echoes with barking and feels a little bit like a cell block. But they are able to go out for fresh air when they need to. I don't love that there is no one on-site overnight -- when the facility is closed, there is no one there with the animals, so it seems that if there were an emergency with one of the animals, it would not be discovered til the morning. But I would send my dog back there nonetheless--the price was reasonable, and they aren't too strict with "qualifying" your dog to stay there like some places are. And they take big dogs which not all dog places around Houston do. So overall we are pleased. read more

I personally toured Best Friends Pet Care before my dog went through their compatibility test to become a "client". This is now the ONLY daycare and boarding place I like to take my dog to in the area! The staff are extremely friendly and know us as soon as we walk in. My dog has never come home ill after a 4-8 day stay (have had issues at other day care facilities), and there is an option to have a bath on pick up day. Another boarding facility on Shepherd Drive we tried had a mandatory $45.00 bath if your dog stayed 5 days or more -- how ridiculous and egregious. My ONLY complaint is Best Friends hours of operation: 7am - 6pm. A later opening time of 6:30pm would be more competitive with other boarding facilities in central Houston and much easier for people coming from work. NOTE: In reading some of the other reviews, there is absolutely no hard sale on having your dog bathed (they simply ask), and you can opt out of the $7.00 fee for insurance coverage while your dog/cat is boarded. We have used Best Friends before on our old dog and he loved it. We took our new rescue and were very concerned about leaving her not knowing her background and how she would react. When we went to pick her up , her tail was wagging and she had no issues. We highly recommend Best Friends our dogs come home happy and it takes the guilt away from leaving her behind. read more
