These guys are the best! I was having problems with my pool pump and filter, couldn't figure out why my skimmer wasn't running. The owner Dave came out took one look and knew exactly what it was, all I needed was a new filter. He showed me how to do the chemicals in a very simple way and my pool is looking gorgeous! All the guys that work at this place are helpful, no nonsense, and know what they're doing. Just recently bought a house with a pool that had a leak, and I don't have the slightest idea on how to care for a pool. Heck, I don't even know how to swim really! Saw Best Pool Supply on YELP! and thought I'd give them a try since there were so many good reviews. Gave them a call and Dave came out the following day to assess the situation. All the five star reviews for this place are well deserved. I had a problem with my ancient but otherwise sturdy pump/motor combo a few months ago. The folks at another pool supply store (the mega chain that starts with an L) basically told me I was SOL and that I needed to drop 900 bucks on a new set-up. I took it to the guys at Best Pool Supply and they were able to fix the issue for about 130 bucks. When my old set up finally gives up the ghost you can be sure I'm going to these guys to upgrade. The first time I walked into this place needing some help with my pool sweep Dave & Jim seemed to just be falling over themselves to help me. I told them how the sweep wasn't moving very well in the pool and they told me exactly what I needed to do to fix it. It has since been doing much better and Best Pool Supply has since become my go to place whenever I have a problem with my pool. Every time I have been there they have always been very friendly and quick to volunteer information to me about what chemical does what and what should be happening in my pool. I won't name the company but maybe I should! My first pool repair estimate was $2k-$2300. Yet again, these guys know what they are talking about! Brought in some green water sample from my pool, got fast service, even carried out the 8 gallons of chlorine I needed, and away I went. Today is the next day, followed their instructions exactly, and my pool right now is CRYSTAL CLEAR! This is the 2nd time they have helped me and I am very impressed! I have tried the "other" pool supply company before, starts with the letter L, and it cost me $200 in chemicals which did NOT fix my problem. Ended up draining and refilling my pool. Awesome! Best Pool Supply didn't hesitate to come out and diagnose our 25 year old pool spa heater that had stopped working. Other companies wouldn't or couldn't work on it or wanted to replace it for $3000 without seeing it stating it's old and probably not worth fixing. Dave came out and for a mere $85 service call got it going said it was pretty much just clogged burners and all and advised us to run it monthly for maintenance which no one had told us. The rat that had nested in there probably hadn't helped either . Brenda in the front office was very helpful and knowledgeable too. We'll definitely use them again and hire them for that new heater when it's really time. read more

Best Pool Supply is the best. These guys are friendly, honest and helpful every time I go in. I've had Dave come to my house twice to make sure my pool equipment was functioning correctly. The first time was a year ago right after we'd just moved into the house. He installed a new filter cartridge and sweeper pump for a reasonable price. The most recent time was after I fired the pool service we had for the last year. Dave diagnosed and fixed all the problems our pool guy should have been taking care of. On top of that, the price for Dave's visit was a reasonable $85. I thought that was pretty good considering everything he did. read more

Well, their name says it all! My Polaris 360 Pool Vac broke a belt and needed bearings, too much for me to fix so I brought it to Best Pool. It was repaired in less than an hour and the cost was fair and reasonable. This is the only place I'll come for repair and supplies for my pool! read more

After getting burned by Leslies for years, I finally wised up and yelped another pool place. Smartest thing I've done in a while. Jim at Best Pool Supply took in my beat up old pool pump motor and warned me that replacing the motor could cost over $300, but was still $1000 less than moving up to a new pool pump. Well, $83 later, he put new bearings in and the whisperflow is whispering again He also worked with me on pricing for a new filter. I feel like I've found a place I can really trust to get the right work done quickly (5 hour turnaround on my pump) and their equipment prices are 40 % below the previously mentioned store's prices. read more

Three words, stupid, Stupid STUPID! I brought in about two quarts of water to have tested for CALCIUM HARDNESS. I told the guy, I'll call him the "genius" that I had a brand new (filled for two months) salt water plaster pool, that I have been taking care of it myself, I know everything should be fine but want it tested for calcium hardness. Well the genius wastes about half of my sample flushing out the test kit (in a sink that has a faucet) and then proceeds to perform all of the same tests that I do at home. Proclaims "everything looks good, PH is a bit high, add two quarts of acid" and pours the rest of my sample water down the drain.....I ask "what did the calcium test say"? Of course the genius replies "I did't test for calcium"...WTF? THATS THE ONLY THING I WANTED IT TESTED FOR.....then he asks "are you local"? Why? So I can drive home and get you another sample because you are an IDIOT and you poured my water down the drain without testing EVERYTHING? I actually drove from West Sacramento because of the reviews here....LESLIES, HERE I COME! Stupid is, as stupid does! read more

Service and integrity; Dave excels in both categories. I stopped by the shop and spoke to Dave concerning a leak in my pool. I explained that I came there due to the positive experiences' my parents had with Best Pool back in the '70's as well as their current reputation. Although I live a substantial distance from their service area, I believe that Dave sensed my frustration and agreed to come out and inspect the pool. After the inspection, Dave had me take notes on certain occurrences and call him back the next week. When I called Dave with the data, Dave was confident that he knew what the issue was-he was correct in his diagnosis. He came back the next morning and fixed the leak! Something that is unusual for me: I never discussed any price or cost to expect prior to any work or inspection. When Dave called to tell me that it was fixed, I asked what the cost was; he gave me a detailed breakdown of parts, tax, and labor-boy was I pleasantly surprised with the final cost. Most people wouldn't have driven from the shop to my house, let alone performed any work, for the amount that I was charged for the labor. These folks treat you like a friend/neighbor, I guess that is why they have been around so long. read more

I love this place. I always go in to get my pool water checked. They never do a hard sell. I went to another place once and the person told me I needed to drain my pool and start over. Luckily I asked the folks here if that was the case. The guy said no way and never drain the type of pool you have or the sides will collapse. I looked that up and he was right. That would have been a disaster. Anyway, they sold me the correct stuff and my pool was up and running without changing the water. read more

I went here the other day and spoke to Jim thinking that I needed to replace the motor on my swimming pool because that is what All Clear's tech said was the problem. Jim asked me to bring the motor to him and he would test it to see what the actual problem was. It turns out that it needed just a $30 impeller replaced, the motor was fine. Now, I put the motor back in and it is working fine like before this problem occurred. Jim is very honest and admirable, we highly recommend anyone that has a problem with their pool to go to Best Pool Supply, Jim saved us hundreds of dollars through his know how and honesty. 5 STARS!
