You know, I didn't have teriyaki but another item on the menu - cashew chicken. The dish was not what I expected at all as I'm used to grilled chicken with veggies and sauce or glaze. Instead it was sort of like an orange chicken (breaded with glaze), cashews, and lots of white rice, but that's on me for assuming. I wasn't really impressed with the food and honestly can't eat anything else on their menu due to food intolerance however, the service was quick and the lady at the register was very friendly. Tried this place out. Expecting a mid tier experience. Was still disappointed. All food was very bland. Ordered the "wok" beef bulgolgi, some how forgot to use the wok to cook it. You can see how plain all the food is, absolutely no seasoning I'm pretty sure most items were boiled. Chicken teriyaki was exactly what you'd expect. Grilled chicken with bottled teriyaki sauce on top, which would be fine it's no Michelin rated place but the food was still cold and chicken was dry. as in it's been sitting for awhile somewhere then was reheated for our order. AND this would STILL be fine. If it was a budget place. You know maybe 5/10 food for cheap isn't always bad. Nope. Most meals were $15 and over. $35 for 3/10 food was a miss. Called ahead to pick up order, I was told it will take 15 mins. then I waited for 27 mins, respectfully rang the counter bell and blew the whistle(exaggerating here), no one came out to tell me they needed more time and completely ignored me. Kind of limited choices because most teriyaki places are closed Sunday. So Best Teriyaki it was today. Never been served ranch dressing with a teriyaki lunch combo salad. That was the first sign something was off. The lettuce was fresh though. A lot of oil in mine as other reviews have mentioned. Flavor and addition of peppers and onions to my spicy chicken reminded me of the Sodexo dining hall in college. I mean it was terrible, I'll eat the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Husband complained of a lot of fatty pieces in his beef teriyaki. He could have used more sauce. Better teriyaki places in town, just not open today :( read more

It's tough to give low stars to nice people. The service and hospitality were nice. The interior is clean and welcoming. However, this is the second time I've ordered teriyaki chicken & katsu. Unfortunately, I had the same experience both times. The teriyaki chicken was served warm with cold teriyaki sauce. The katsu was ok and about the same temperature as the teriyaki chicken. I was the only customer waiting for an order and it took almost 15 minutes to receive the meal. I've been to other teriyaki locations that provide bigger and tastier portions for less money. Haven't been here in years so we decided to give it a try again. We ordered both the regular teriyaki and the spicy. The reason for two stars is the portions are very large. That's the only positive thing. The teriyaki sauce tasted more like brown gravy. It was not good at all. As a matter of fact, it wasn't really eaten except for the rice. This is the first time with spicy teriyaki that they actually put green onions and peppers in it, and it was very Mili type of texture with it. It was spicy, but it was extremely watery sauce. Very big disappointment I can't see going back here. We've given them a number of tries and it just doesn't appeal to us anymore. Others may like it and I think that's great and you should enjoy it. The woman behind the counter was very friendly. She made sure that we had everything we needed before we left, and they have changed the interior. The ambience is a little bit more stark not as homey as it was before and a lot less tables. read more

I'm a big fan of teriyaki and this place does not disappoint! I've been really happy with the chicken & pork teriyaki, the chicken katsu and the honey garlic chicken wings. All are delicious. Pretty yummy egg rolls & cream cheese wontons too. Wasn't over the moon with the spicy pork teriyaki (I thought it would be just a spicy version of their pork teriyaki but it was a totally different dish with bell peppers & onions). To start off, this is my 7th 12 hour shift back to back. I came by to do laundry and spotted Best Teriyaki while pulling in. The restaurant was impeccably clean, well kept and the staff was so nice and helpful. I didn't expect a lot given the fact I was just hungry but wow. This was probably the best teriyaki I've had since I've been in Washington. The portion was HUGE! Exactly what I needed after working so much. Not sure what happened, was here last month and they had amazing Korean fried chicken menu. Went again this month and all the fried chicken options were replaced with teriyaki/Chinese combo options. And just chicken wings. I had the Mongolian beef. My wife ordered the chicken and chicken Katsu. The lady at the counter seemed confused when I asked if the menu had changed. The name of this place is Best Teriyaki, well they definitely were having an off day. If never received an order at a teriyaki restaurant that literally was swimming in oil, see photo. The Mongolian beef was sitting in a bath of oil That was so hot it was borderline the temperature of the sun.... Flavor was. My wife's meal was passable. Though the katsu was sitting in a soup of oil and the teriyaki chicken was well done the flavor was ok and my wife finished hers. Not sure I'll give this spot another try as there are just too many other teriyaki options in town that do it better. They gave up the only thing that seemed to separate them from the others, the Korean fried chicken. Bummer read more

With a name like this, you expect something special; aside from the nice setting, not much stands out as anywhere near to "Best." I had carry out. Order was wrong when I got home--'chicken breast teriyaki' instead of 'yakisoba with chicken breast', along with the chicken/pork combo I DID order. The mistake was not seared/grilled or sauced like most teriyaki, but was very salty to the point of hard to eat. the chicken/pork combo seemed pretty standard so far as grilling/glaze. There was no extra sauce and they were very skimpy with what they used. They mostly put sauce underneath-under the scoops of rice, and some sauce under the meats. Despite that, there was a pool in the bottom of the bag; don't see how. And 3" cut squares of iceberg lettuce with mayo (or tartar?) for dressing. Is this anyone's tradition? not American or Korean or Japanese.... Seems about as authentic as fortune cookies but not fun. Such effort--just buy some salad mix. Service was slow; I had assumed it was making the yakisoba, but not, obviously. Ended by throwing out the super-salty chicken breast and the ice berg squares (Oh, maybe lettuce wraps would have worked to mellow the salt?).
