Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree - Guest room

This was really more of a 3.5 star review, but they definitely earned the extra half star due to…read moretheir staff! Great group of team members! This is a pretty standard Hampton Inn, nothing really to speak of necessarily, but... it is not without some flaws. For one thing, the entire facility is in dire need of an update. Lighting in the guest room itself was very dark, and one of the switches literally did nothing. The furniture was okay, but clearly a bit worn. The TV was fairly new, though, so props there. The hotel is located behind some main roads, so it has a kind of "distant" vibe to it. If you don't have a car, it's pretty much on an island with nothing around it (so to speak). There are some accommodations (restaurants, mall, etc.) within a mile of the place, but again, without a car, it's not really walking distance. Certainly not safely! Still, that being said, it was a decent stay for what we needed it for. You're not too far from the train station (Quincy Center) that can take you to downtown Boston and the surrounding area. They even have a free shuttle that can take you to said station and to local places! I don't think they go to Logan, however, but their train system does (same with rideshare, of course). For the price, I mean... at least you're saving a lot over downtown prices, which is nice. Far less expensive than staying in Boston proper! But, factor in the time spent traveling via rental car, rideshare, or train and it's up to you. For what we needed, it was perfectly suited. The staff here really made the difference, though. Lauren (sp?) in particular was a huge help to us! She made a complicated reservation very easy thanks to her assistance. Even the corporate site couldn't claim that! The free breakfast was also a very nice touch, with some good options pretty much every day. Overall, it's a Hampton Inn, hard to say more beyond that. But, it was a good location and price for our long weekend in Boston. I'd stay here again!

Called the front desk multiple times the day before to ask a question and they just didn't answer. Furniture, carpet, and bedding was very outdated. All of this, and we still paid just under $200 for one night. I am genuinely shocked that Hilton allows this hotel to be branded with its name.

We checked in late on a Thursday evening and were quickly given the keys to our room. To our surprise, the room was almost like a suite. It had a king sized bed, a pull-out couch, and a full kitchen (with a regular sized fridge). This came as a surprise to us! We thoroughly enjoyed the convenient location of the hotel and the complimentary breakfast too. The hotel itself was busy with other guests and had a good energy to it. The staff was accommodating and kind. We will definitely stay here again if in Quincy and you should too!

Room included safe, microwave, full-sized french-door fridge, iron, ironing board, dishwasher, dishes and large TV with lots of available channels. There were also lots of power and USB outlets throughout the room. Climate control unit was very efficient and quiet enough. Ice maker on every floor. Water and coffee available for free all day in the lobby. Free continental breakfast in the lobby was more than adequate...offering fruit, cereal, breads, yogurt, as well as some hot options including bacon. sausage, omelettes and eggs. Fitness Center was better than expected with modern treadmill and elliptical machines. Conveniently located right off of Newport Avenue and near Hancock Street (3A). Lots of shops and eating options in the immediate area. Very close to the North Quincy (Red) T Train Station. Parking was $15 per night.

It was one of those overnight trips in Boston and I ended up at the Extended Stay - Braintree…read more I chose the Extended Stay - Braintree as my family lives in Dorchester, my Bestfriend lives in Weymouth, and the event I was in town to attend was taking place in Dedham. With all of that in mind, the Extended Stay - Braintree provided the perfect mid-point for everything I had on my schedule. Furthermore, the South Shore Plaza is a block away and I needed to go to Sephora. Lmbooooooo. Extended Stay - Braintree was very wasy to find as it sits right off of the main road. Once I was on the property, parking was easy and efficient as well. As I booked online via Hotels.com my check-in was super quick, super easy, and done within minutes of my arrival at the desk. The location offers Tap To Pay thus making it seamless for me to pay my deposit and be on my way. While at the desk, the agent who assisted me was very pleasant. She greeted me with a smile, she was very efficient at her job, and she was engaging throughout the entire check-in process. ‍ Upon arriving to my room (324), it was what I needed for the night: Spacious, Clean, Well Lit, Quiet Floor (3rd), and the TV worked. LoL. It's the simple things in life... the one area of opportunity that would have enhanced my experience would have been if there was some sort of clean air fragrance in the room. The room had a slight stale smell as if it had not been used in a few days and the air hadn't circulated at all. However, the bed was comfortable, the hot water was hot, and the water pressure was at full force. (WooHoo) All in all, my stay at the Extended Stay - Braintree was pleasant and I will definitely book again on my next trip to Boston. **If you are looking for even more value, Extended Stay - Braintree does have grab and go breakfast but I checked out before breakfast time (5:30a) so I didn't get to experience it.

I honestly wasn't expecting much from this hotel as it was a last minute find to hangout for NYE…read more The outside and the lobby are pretty decent but once you get to your room, that's a whole different story. First, the ceilings look like they have been patched at least 20 times by someone who had no clue wtf they were doing. ( pics to follow) the room itself was decent but so outdated. The recliner was broken and hanging on by it's last leg. I wanted a cold drink so decided to use the ice maker in the freezer.. omg! The ice came out brown! Maybe it was my imagination but something was definitely up. Glad i made it through the night.. never again!!

There were definitely people coming and going from rooms that were not staying there. Safety is nil. The rooms are not soundproof. You can hear everything from the hallway in your suite. The rooms are not well maintained or cleaned. Black mold throughout the A/C system (in 2 different suites, not isolated), dirty, sticky light switches in the bedroom (think about that for a minute - ew), sticky floors, carpets not vacuumed, dishes left piled in the dishwasher - which smells moldy. Stains on the wall (that could have easily been wiped off). Tables sticky. Dead bugs killed and left STUCK to the windows. The list goes on. The place is disgusting and a huge stain on the Candlewood Suites name. This is not the IHG hotel I have stayed in in the past; I've never been disappointed before. This place is nasty - and that's being kind. The ONLY decent thing about the place is the staff. The front desk staff were friendly, provided towels when needed, and when I checked into the first suite (and it was filthy) they switched me to another suite (still gross, but less filthy) without question. Staff, however, do not make up for the level of disgust this place exhibits. I travel a lot. I travel a lot to this area of the country. I will never, ever stay in this place again. The ONLY reason I did not leave after checking in and finding the horrid conditions was because I was in town for my mother's funeral. I was too busy, exhausted, and overcome with grief to go through the hassle of finding another hotel and moving. Had I been traveling under any other circumstances, I would have taken the time and energy to leave and find another place to stay.
