Without invalidating those Yelpers whose experience were bad or horrible, my experience was much less so. A breakdown: Cleanliness - No issues whatsoever. I went over the room and bathroom with a blacklight, and things were pretty much spotless. As someone who cleans his own house using one, this is difficult. Absolutely no complaints, and they met my high expectations (I mean, how many guests examine the foot of the toilet using a blacklight?! The Room - The room was notably small. There was very little space on either side of the bed. I seem to recall a desk, so it's not like a pod hotel, but still cramped. As I was one person staying one night, it wasn't a big deal, but thought it was worth mentioning. Speaking of me being one person: Desk Staff: The person when I was checking in Thursday night was not welcoming at all. I walk in, and he growls "Reservation?" I say "yes", followed by a "good evening, by the way" a few second after. During the check in process it was repeated ad nauseum that I am not allowed to have any guests in the room who are not on the reservation, even after I specifically stated it would just be me. Clearly, they've been burned on this in the past, but that is no excuse to treat me as if I brought an extra person after being told not to. The person working the next morning was much kinder, friendlier, and more welcoming. Moving on... Bedding - The mattress and sheets were pretty average. Just fine for an Inn, and I had no issues with either. Bathroom - The only complaints I have is that the soap was a cheaper variety (common in places like this and even nicer), and the lighting above the vanity was harsh. Otherwise, the hot water was plenty hot, and the water pressure respectable. While it appeared more like the set up one would have at home, for an Inn, I have no complaints. Breakfast - Surprisingly, it was on par (if not slightly better) to what I had in the DoubleTree in Rockland, and Doubletree charges almost $20 for theirs, while this one was free. It was some pastries, pancakes, sausage patties, and some egg, IIRC. Thus, an experience that exceeded my expectations, and would have resulted in a five-star rating if not for a staffer who would seemingly make people swear on a religious book of their choosing that they're categorically not going to bring any guests into the rooms. read more

Had to be in Boston but didn't want to pay the crazy rich Asian price, so we opted to stay a few miles away. What a great decision. Our room was of modest size but looks to have been newly renovated. It was very clean, with bed that was firm and comfortable. The furniture was in very good shape. Staff was friendly and helpful when I requested small items. The breakfast was listed as continental but was actually a hot breakfast with pancakes, eggs and sausage as well. And great all day coffee. Also noticed that the price of gas in this town was significantly cheaper than in any other areas we traveled to in the Boston area. Highly recommended. read more

My flight from Boston to Seattle was canceled due to the Hurricane Debby. Delta Airlines offered me a night at the hotel but at their choice, so that's how I came to this hotel. When I checked Yelp reviews before heading here, I was so worried, especially I had just stayed at fancy and convenient Westin Hotel in Boston. Braintree was a bit far from Boston, but Delta Airlines said that most hotels were full. It was a bit challenging to get a Lyft or Uber driver who's willing to drive that far from the airport. I guess most visitors don't go to Braintree area. When we arrived, there was a long line waiting to check in as most of us were there due to flight cancellations. I guess normally they didn't get so many guests, they were overwhelmed, but they still tried their best to accommodate all of us. The owner was very kind and explained to us how we should use our vouchers from the airlines for food. It took a while for us to finally check in, and the room was basic and clean. It's not new, but clean with everything you need. They serve breakfast until 9 am, but we arrived nearly 1 am, so it was quite challenging for us to be there for breakfast when we needed more sleep. The breakfast was continental style breakfast. The check out time was 11 am, and I called to see if we could extend. The lady, who was likely one of the owners, allowed me to extend for an hour. Maybe they didn't communicate well, so the housekeeper knocked our door at 11 am to tell us that we had to check out. It took me a while to explain as the housekeeper didn't speak English well. We checked out at noon but our flight was in the evening, so it was still too early to head to the airport. We decided to walk around the area, and the lady at the front desk was kind to let us leave our luggage in their secured employee area. Overall, the experience with this hotel was good. The owners were friendly, but I also think they should smile more. While I doubt I may come again in the future, I hope people are willing to give it a try despite its negative online reviews. read more

We stayed here two nights while we were in Boston for parent weekend. Most hotels were booked for this weekend. We read the mixed reviews on Expedia but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was over-the-top nice and check in and out was painless. Bed was comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was great. If you like craft beer, there's a brewery (Widowmaker Brewing) right next door. They seem to have live music and food trucks in the weekends. Would stay again. read more

The man was very rude here I simply asked a question of if pets were allowed at this hotel and he immediately got irate and threatened to call the police on me for simply asking a question he also said because I live in Quincy he won't let me stay there. the man said his name was John. Our flight got cancelled and we were put into this hotel. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. They gave us more information than even the airlines did. There were a lot of exhausted/frustrated travelers in queue waiting to be checked in, and the staff was patience and friendly. Clean hotel and good breakfast as well. read more

My awful experience was similar to Victoria's about not being informed about the policy of not allowing guests to stay or children over 13 to stay for free. When I booked the room using the reward night, they should have informed me of the policy. The Braintree Inn was spooky when I first walked into the front entrance. There was a man who was staring at me like he was monitoring me before I even checked in. He informed me that additional persons stayed in the room will cost $20. I thought that children under 17 would be free, but he did not even inform me of the BW's Policy under 13 would charge $20. He just said rudely that my child is in the room, thus they will charge $20. We told him that we will drive our child back to his home before 9pm and that he should not charge us. He finally agreed, but it was still a horrible experience on my last day of our short trip. They should have informed their customers about their strict policies even before a reservation was made. The man and woman continued to monitor us at night and throughout breakfast to see if my child stayed so that they can charge $20. In addition, I booked a room with two Queens size beds using my reward night. They saw us as a couple and wanted to change our two beds room to a single bed room, but I insisted to have the two beds room as reserved. If you do not want to be Interrogated, monitored, and intimidated, you do not want to come to stay at the BW Braintree Inn. read more

I travel to Boston from Denver monthly. I generally stay in Braintree one night. I generally stay at the Hyatt, but they were booked. I went onto a Third Party site, Super.com and found this hotel. When Iinitiated my booking, I saw that the state was incorrect so I quickely back arrowed to not complete the booking. The site sent mea text stating "Oops, come back". So I assumed that the booking did not take place. I rebooked making sure that all of my information was correct. Upon checking into this hotel, the clerk at the desk, Raja, told me I had two rooms booked. I said, 'No', its just me, I wouldn't have booked two rooms. After a lengthy discussion, he told me to contact the third party and to have them call him and he would tell them to cancel that erroneous booking. I called the third party, they told me that the hotel needed to provide me with the booking statement, and an email stating that they were refunding this unused room. I went back to the desk and there was a rude woman who essentially told me I was wrong, that that was not what they would do. Rather than helping me, or offering an opportunity to stay there again with a voucher, she was unhelpful. So their hotel essentially took my money for a room unused, and she in particular, was rude and unhelpful. I will not stay there again. Otherwise the room was basic and clean. read more

I would like to give 0 stars! One of the worst stays in my life. The General Manager named Raj was inhospitable from the moment we entered. He constantly policed the hotel for adherence to his strict rules of conduct and felt completely entitled to rudely address us and our kids with any & all accusations. He accused my 12 year old daughter of drinking alcohol because someone left an empty beer bottle on a counter beside a table she was eating her early morning breakfast. Outrageous! Long story short ! My niece book two rooms for us! We came early and wanted to check in he won't give us the rooms because she is not there! I drove 5 hrs from Pa to attend a wedding ! We got into an argument he called the Cops and they showed up ! After talking to the cop they said it's his hotel and there is nothing they can do about it ! They told us to go to Marriott hotel 6 mins away ! And told us to write a review on Yelps about the incident ! I have never seen a hotel owner so rude like this guy! Dont' be fooled by the low price, there is a reason for that. The front desk (I think they are owners) are very rude, judgemental and actually mean. Twice I have gone and walked in and they said I'm not welcome to stay there as they assumed i was there to do something illegal. I am a professional woman who was there on business locally. I was mortified and upset, and they said we have problems here. I said both times, I am here to check into a room, and don't appreciate your tone, comments, and awful customer service. The english was very poor but I understood their statements well enough and was very disturbed by what seems like a common trend. Very clean, great coffee, very comfortable bedding, good shower, and awesome pillows! (Everyone in our party agreed). In short, they did great with the basics and accommodated modest requests such as room proximity between parties. Not a lot of frills. I am not sure why this hotel has a 1 star. The owner Mr. Raj Patel extended the best hospitality to me and my family. I had 12 adults + 4 kids who had travelled from different places for my graduation. Mr. Raj and his wife went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. We enjoyed our time together and I will remember their warmth and kindness. Highly recommend if you are in the area. In Boston this place gives you great value for your money. Gross, Unheated room and despicable customer service. DO NOT STAY HERE. These pictures are not the rooms - they are the tiniest rooms I've ever stayed in- difficult to walk between the bed and dresser. Additionally they don't turn the heat on until the guests arrive. We stayed there when it was 10 degrees outside. It took 3 hours to heat up and we slept in our coats. I gave the manager a chance to make it right, but he was only willing to give us a $30 discount because he said it should have heated up in 15 minutes and the heater was at least working. And I had to bargain to get him there. He suggested a 10% discount for the inconvenience to start. Ludicrous. read more

Stayed three nights last week. Super clean great location and very quiet . Room had everything i needed fridge ,ironing board ,plenty of keurig coffee. Owner was on site and very friendly and helpful. next time i am in the Boston area this location will be my choice ! Price was very good as i had no reservation planned. My friends & I stayed here a few days ago & we had an awful experience! When I checked in I was not told that we were not allowed to have guests. We went out to dinner in Boston & came back to the hotel around 11pm. We went into the hotel & we're getting changed to go to bed when within 1 minute of being in the room we got a phone call on the hotel phone. We answered the phone call but nobody was on the other end. We continued to get ready for bed. A couple minutes later we got a knock on the door. I answered & a man was standing there & said something along the lines of "how many people are in this room" I proceeded to say "3" & he said "well this is a 2 person room & we do not allow visitors" & I was not informed of that rule so how was I supposed to know that the hotel was not allowing visitors. He said the lady at the front desk was supposed to tell me, which she did not. Then he proceeded to tell me in a very rude way that "if my friend does not leave within 10-15 minutes he would call the cops on us". I was not refusing to leave or being rude to him so this was ridiculous. Then he told me that if we wanted to rent another room we could stay. Finally as a group we decided to pack up all of our things & leave because we did not want to be there nor did we want to give them more money for another room. He would not give us our money back & when my friend went to talk to him he told her that she could have stayed for 30 minutes & that he did not say he would call the cops. This was a great hotel to stay at! It certainly featured the best beds / mattresses of any hotel I've stayed at over the last 10+ years - my wife and I slept so good we didn't want to get up the next morning and had to request a late checkout :-) The staff was very friendly, especially the manager Raj Patel, whom I had a great discussion with about mattresses.
