Much better than expected. It was the only semi-affordable spot anywhere near the stuff we wanted to visit, in Boston, in July. We figured we'd grin and bear it, just a place to sleep after all. It started with great service: both of our rooms were upgraded upon arrival, just so they could be moved closer to each other per a previous request. No extra charge. Staff was consistently friendly and helpful, especially Edwin. The elevator is rough looking, had us worried about the place. But both rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but you're not paying fancy prices either. The bathrooms seemed recently updated with nice tile and fixtures. The dining area for the free breakfast is a little rough, I think the furniture's from before the nixon administration, but the breakfast was great. As free hotel breakfasts go. Well-stocked, nice variety, a coffee machine that grinds beans to order. The yogurt was even good, chiobani, not the watery little thimbles of slime you usually get at these things. Service at breakfast was also great; folks working here were present and making sure everything stayed stocked. The neighborhood, well, it's not really a neighborhood. But the location's not terrible. Red line was down so we ubered to northie, only about $12 and 10-15 minutes. Sure, it's great to stay right where you're visiting, but we saved hundreds and were very happy with this place. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel, visiting from California, for one week. The service was outstanding. Every day my room was cleaned and fresh towels and water bottles were left. There was a complimentary breakfast daily and other free ammenities, such as refreshing water with fresh limes or lemons, variety of teas, etc. The establishment was very clean, and the staff professional and friendly. The concierge sucks, I will never come back to this place for another Psychology conference. I was not able to check out on time because I was attending this CONFERENCE a month ago, and they still charged me for an EXTRA DAY! I would hire FRIENDLIER concierges, only the lady was nice but the rest of the guys lack any customer service experience, I felt treated like a street person here. I work in the film industry and want to warn my film colleagues, don't ever bring your film team here. My daughter & I were very happy to stay at this HI Express. Everything was new, clean and nicely done. Best of all, the customer service was excellent. There was always someone helpful at the desk. We never had any issues. We called ahead and asked if we could leave the car and the bags early, and they accommodated us right away. The beds were great and the bathrooms had nice amenities. Instead of disposable bottles, they had J.R. Watkins dispensers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. There were plenty of charging ports in the room, and the room was quiet despite being near the elevator and the ice maker. They soundproofed this place very well. I slept like a baby, and that's unusual for me. It's a quick walk to the Andrew T station, and there's the South Bay Center shops & restaurants right down the street. The shuttle to the T station isn't running because of covid rules, but the walk was fine. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Perfect location for events. It was my Aunt's Birthday and the family decided to have a surprise Birthday Party for her. We had the event room to decorate and had a very private and intimate party of only a very few of us, her closest relatives and her 4 offsprings. It was fun to see all her grown up kids together for once in such a long time. There is free breakfast and free parking with the hotel stay. I was the only one who stayed with my cousin for 2 nights in the hotel and we had a blast !!!! She and me enjoyed the bed very much! We went to sleep about 8pm...I also took a long nap in the day time. This hotel like many others do have an excellent bed, comfy and soft. As you come off the highway of the side road, to find the entrance is right pass the Best Buy Store. Do not make a turn and end up in Best Buy and the mall area parking lot as I did. Lolol. Lost 15 mins. there. You keep driving past Best Buy, then you will see the entrance and parking lot of the hotel. Basically, the hotel is behind Best Buy. The back of the hotel has a mall/shopping area with many different stores. read more

My United flight from Boston to SFO was cancelled. Fortunately, the company travel agency was able to find me a room, so that I could get 5 hours of sleep before heading back to Logan in the am. The room I was provided had a malodorous odor, as if soggy walls and smoke had a child. The carpeted floor was stain. Not talking about one stain, but many. The wallpaper was fraying the bathroom wasn't the cleanest, etc. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have to in a pinch. read more

Not very cozy and well maintained. The foyer is under construction so the main entrance and front desk spaces are closed off, and they've set up a temporary desk by the side entrance. When I first arrived to check in, I waited at the empty desk for a few minutes, before anyone realized I was there to check in. The staff member who came was nice, but didn't act very professionally. She because there were two desks, one by the side entrance and one angled away more towards the interior, she asked me if that was the desk I wanted to be at or if I'd want to walk over to the other one. I'm not sure if she was trying to be funny, but it made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by staying at the desk I was at, instead of walking all the way around the room to get to the other one. I may be reading too much into the situation, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. The rooms themselves are alright. The pictures online make them seem much nicer and larger than they actually are, but my single room with a king bed was cozy enough for one, but the interior had an old hotel feel to it. The rooms could use some renovations and sprucing up, but it's not like anything was wrong with them that they needed it badly. In terms of amenities, I used the fitness center on the basement where the have some weights, treadmills, and an elliptical. The machines even had their own tvs, although they didn't work the best. The room was stocked with a water cooler, towels, and sanitizing wipes and overall I was satisfied with it. The breakfast was pretty standard continental breakfast with nothing too out of the ordinary except for their automatic pancake machine, which I admit was pretty fun to watch. I found plenty of food places in the nearby area in the mall that's right behind the hotel as well as some smaller places a few blocks away. Overall, this Holiday Inn isn't anything noteworthy, and I wouldn't find it that comfortable if I were to stay here for multiple nights. read more

This hotel is great for a stay in Boston When you walk in this hotel is warm and clean, the staff is welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Construction is going on in an area of this hotel, you might think isn't good, but I had a restful night, no noise. The room is normal size, clean with all the amenities for a wonderful stay, bed is so comfortable, linens are clean and soft, along with all the pillows. My room had a office chair and desk, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, coffee, tea, cups, iron and iron board. Clean bathroom, nice towels, hair dryer, toiletries, good water pressure. Breakfast is complimentary but I didn't try it. Coffee and tea are available 24 hrs, so nice. Hotel is within walking distance of a shopping center and some restaurants. Shuttle to the airport is available. Free parking if you have a car. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, everything worked well, definitely coming back next time I'm in the area. read more

Hotel applied a $250 "extra cleaning charge - smoked in room" charge to our bill. We did not smoke in the room. We informed them of their error and they would not reverse the charge. This is outrageous and utterly unacceptable. This reflects a complete lack of competence in managing the hotel and providing even minimal customer service. As an IHG Rewards Club Platinum member we have never seen such a lack of regard and respect for a guest. read more

On July 21,2020 Andrew DosSantos was murdered in Room 231. The hotel did nothing to help him, he was left to die in room 231 alone. Housekeeping found his body at check out. The family came to the hotel and asked for help, nobody was willing to help find his body. The police searched public hallways and bathroom only. The hotel has yet to acknowledge this young mans death. read more

Terrible location. (I only give two stars because the front desk and cleaning staff were friendly.) It would appear that this hotel is in a nice, revived section of Boston (Dorchester). There are cute shops and restaurants, and shopping plaza nearby. We walked a very short distance to a restaurant and discovered used needles along the way. Then, at about 2:45 a.m., insanely loud music blared from at least one car outside, and there were squealing tires and revving engines, yelling, and at least 10 gunshots. While the room was nice, this location seemed to be dangerous after dark. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. The only thing I have to complain about is the customer service. Extremely slow. Especially if you're already in your room and need to call the front desk. They put you on hold for 15+ minutes and have only one person working the desk at a time and none of them are friendly. Besides that, the room was clean, bathroom a little small but manageable, and the TV remote didn't seem to work all that well. Overall I did enjoy my stay especially for the low price and would stay here again. It was also surprisingly very quiet and I did not hear noise from any of the rooms near me. Overall our stay here was very enjoyable, and certainly we would stay here again if we decide to visit Boston again in the future, which is likely since we loved the city and people. Right from the start, and throughout our stay, the staff were extremely helpful when we had questions or needs and gave us good advice, which was very useful since it was our first time vacationing in Boston. Apart from the good price we were able to find online, there were several other major factors that lead us to choose this hotel. Firstly, its location. It is literally just a few minutes walk to Andrew (hey that's my name!) subway station, just a few blocks and a few minutes walk. This made it very convenient since we made a lot of use of the subway during our trip. Additionally they have a shuttle which makes getting to and from the airport a breeze. On top of this they have complementary breakfast every day. While the breakfast was basic, it was sufficient to hit the spot before leaving for our activities each day. While the rooms are fairly basic, they had good amenities, everything worked, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom could use a little refurbishment, but again everything functioned. The hotel met our needs perfectly and at this price point we really had no complaints. read more

Staff was helpful when asking questions or directions.... hotel was in walking distance to the train OR if you want to wait for the shuttle, you can. Its about a 10-15min walk to the train. Only saw the shuttle a few times... it was faster to just walk most times..(only rode in the shuttle once during our entire stay and we were back and forth to the train a lot) No pool in the hotel.. BUT there are beaches if you drive to the Quincy (shore drive) area or by Castle Island (which was really crowded). Room was new, and clean.... hallway carpet smelled like new car smell (wtf? Haha) flatscreen tv, fridge so new the door didnt open, microwave, ice machine by the elevators, wifi throughout the hotel (we were on 5th floor and i got perfect service no problem), vending machine downstairs in lobby.. Free breakfast til I think 11?... cereal, cinnabon (awesome), yogurt and other stuff like eggs, sausage (meh), bagels. Checkout is 12 I believe. Free parking for the duration of your stay. 15-20mins to the city via the T. Simple transportation system. Can't get lost. Would def. stay here again! read more

Old and in need of major renovations. Unfriendly food staff and breakfast's not that good. On weekends, they start their breakfast at 7 AM. Dining tables are starting to peel and uneven. You'll sink when you sit on their dining chairs. Wallpaper also starting to peel. Our bathroom is so tiny. The faucet is so short that every time you wash your hands they hit the sink. Their beds are lumpy, too. There's a construction next to the building. I'm assuming that it's an extension with newer rooms. Location wise, it's close to the city and there's a nearby strip mall. Taxi ride to Quincy Market is less than $20. If you just need a place to sleep and shower then this hotel will do. read more

Wow, talk about a 5 star hotel at a 2 star cost! This hotel was recently renovated and it is beautiful. The rooms are large and comfortable and actually have two beds AND a sofa sleeper plus lots of table and desk space. We could not have been happier with the rooms and service. Front desk staff are especially friendly and their bookable shuttle service is incredible. Their breakfast is top notch, real breakfast with all the fixings! And the Andrew metro station is just a few minute walk from hotel. Like I said, this is a sure bet if u don't want to risk it. My stay here exceeded my expectations a little bit. Price: one of the most decent you'll find around the Boston area. I came during St. Patty's weekend and this was by far the most reasonably priced hotel. Room: the beds were super comfortable and soft. They had the good amount of pillows, too. The bathroom, however, was tiny! Single vanity and there is maybe 2 feet between the sink and the shower. If you have more than one girl in the room, expect to do be doing hair and make up at the desk area. They also have a mini fridge and a microwave! Location: decent area that felt safe. There is a shopping center nearby with a Target, Old Navy, etc. no grocery store that I noticed too. This place was super difficult for people to find! We ubered everywhere and at least 3 of them could not find our location. Amenities: the fruit-infused water at the entrance is quite good and refreshing. The continental breakfast was also good. They had pancakes, biscuits, sausage, eggs, cereal, muffins, various breads to toast, bagels, & fruits. It was better than expected. They also have a snack vending machine downstairs and drink vending machines on each floor. Overall, I recommend this place and would consider it for a future trip to Boston for sure. read more

Julia is absolutely incredible and makes this hotel a memorable experience. My mother was not doing well post op at Tufts and had to stay the night unexpectedly. I planned ahead and booked the night with a single queen but my mom and her husband check out earlier and when I called and explained that we needed another night, she was more than accommodating and made arrangements for us. Decent stay at the Holiday Inn. However, there were a few things that were unsatisfactory. I was not told of the Holiday Inn free shuttle and only made aware of it by watching other customers getting in when it was far too late and I dropped almost 100 dollars on Uber's and taxis. The hotel is overpriced for the quality and area of Boston it is in. Breakfast was decent for a feee breakfast. !Plenty of choices such as bagels, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs. etc. For 830am on Saturday; they were out of regular coffee and only had decaf. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean. No problem with the quality of the hotel, just some minor aggravations. read more

This is one of the most kind and generous hotels I've ever stayed in. I came to Boston for the first time for 5 days to look into a couple of colleges I was interested in, and the staff was great. We had great conversations with the front desk staff and the rest of the staff throughout our stay. They gave us advice about taxi's and the subway, and how to use both. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and contained a lot of variety and choices. Fresh baked cookies were served at 6pm everyday and there was always complimentary hot tea and coffee in the lobby. They had a shuttle that went to the nearest T station, the airport and two other stops I can't remember. They were very reliable and the drivers were kind and understanding. The shuttle always came and left on time and all stops were complimentary, expect for to or from the airport which was a reasonable and cheap price of only $5. There was one incident where the fire alarm was pulled at midnight and by a bunch of boys as a 'prank'. It was in no way the hotels fault and they handled it very well. The individuals who pulled the fire alarm were kicked out and the fire department got there in less than 5 minutes, even though the roads were wet and Boston was in the middle of their worst snow storm in the last 7 years(about 97" total). The hotel isn't located in downtown Boston which is where we were most of every day, but that wasn't a problem. The subway is great and cheap. Do not call a taxi! We tried to call one to go downtown our first day, and waited for over an hour! The hotel staff explained this is pretty normal for Boston and the area, but still! We ended up taking the subway and it only took us probably 30/45 minutes overall to get there. Also, when we were at the airport after we had been dropped off and gone through security, my mom realized she had left her iPad charging in the hotel lobby. We called the hotel and they brought it to us at the airport, no charge for shuttle(although we did tip them)! The only complaint I have was that the walls were very thin and we could hear the people in the rooms next to us when they were talking loudly or playing music. It was not a huge deal though, as most hotels I have stayed in have had thin walls and doors. Overall a great hotel, will defiantly stay here again my next time in Boston. read more

Well, a standard hotel to stay at- simple no frills and will get the job done if you are visting Boston. They do have a complimentary breakfast which runs from 6-10, and its a very easily walkable to the red line Andrew station. I have actually stayed in the same complex before at the Marriott courtyard also, and the Marriott is a bit newer, while the Holiday inn is more dated. No problems with my 4 day stay, I think Im just spoiled and would have liked a slightly more updated room. There is a $5 shuttle to Logan International Airport, and also free shuttle to the red line. read more

I chose this property due to its proximity to Logan (BOS) and because I am a Priority Club Platinum member. I might try the other IHG properties to see which one is the best overall value with airport proximity, area shopping/entertainment, security and cost. This property is located behind a mall. It is difficult to reach if you take the wrong turn off of 93, like I did. Driving around the sketchy neighborhoods is a chore due to the 1-way streets but if you can get to the mall you can get to the hotel. There are no gas stations near this hotel, which if you have a rental car and want to get gas before heading to Logan is a hassle. The hotel lobby is average and faces away from the parking lot. The lot which faces the HIE and the Courtyard is cramped; I think no one wants to risk parking on the back side of the properties. The bathroom is a bit on the yucky side because of inadequate ventilation and leaks. The bathroom door was rotten on the bottom because of extensive water damage. The sink did not hold water. The shower was awesome after spending a week in a different property with low pressure. The microwave worked well. Several cable channels on the flat screen TV. The elevators are too small for the luggage carts! And the A/C worked fine. There is no pool but the shower made up for it. The staff was friendly and the breakfast bar was well kept during one of the most hectic breakfast rushes I've experienced at a Holiday Inn Express. The shuttle costs $5 per person according to the front desk, FWIW. For Boston, this is an inexpensive hotel. read more

Stayed here last night. We reserved a King Bed but got a Queen, not a big deal but became a bigger deal as time went along. We needed a new fitted sheet because we dropped a slice of pizza on the sheet, our fault but still shouldn't be so hard to do. So we called the front desk and the man was very rude. After calling again and going to the front desk, housekeeping brought one to our room, except it wasn't a sheet, it was a tablecloth. Really? You want me to sleep on a tablecloth? I called the front desk and luckily got to talk to someone else this time. I told them what happened and told them I didn't want to wait another hour for another sheet because it was well past my bedtime. At about 3am people were screaming outside our door. Not the hotel's fault but just very loud. They took $20 off our reservation for the bed size and the tablecloth/sheet mix up, which was nice but didn't make up for the lost hour of sleep waiting for a tablecloth to sleep on. read more

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The Good: - Close to the the subway station. Only have to walk about 4 - 5 blocks to get to it. - Was upgraded to a king-sized room and I loved having a bigger room for the number of days I was visiting Boston. - Breakfast every morning was nice and hot. There were plenty of choices to pick from and (not sure if it's just me but they served) very good coffee. - Almost everyone I dealt with or talked to was extremely nice and polite. - Had a big TV in the breakfast room and reception conveniently was good. - Had a shuttle that we could use if we chose to. - Hotel is next door to another major hotel. Also near a Target and other merchants. - Did I say already the staff was was super friendly? The Bad: - TV reception in my room was bad and didn't matter the channel. With the World Cup going on, this wasn't good. - King sized bed wasn't very comfortable. I'd guess it might need to be replaced. - Bathroom and furniture might need updating. - Shuttle drivers could use some customer service training on how to be friendly with the customers they shuttle around. The one who shuttled us when we checked out didn't even help us with our luggage from and to where he took us to but got out of the shuttle. I'm guessing to collect a tip. Hotel is okay. Room was small but was not a big deal. Best part for me was that they provided fresh coffee all day in the dining room and a decent breakfast was served in the morning. The worst part was the customer service. I booked the hotel online through a third party service which advertised and still advertises free parking. When I questioned the front desk upon check in, she was very rude and dismissive saying that it was not free and was $10.00 a day, which I then paid. Also, a $20.00 hold was put on my account which was supposed to be removed upon checkout, however, when I called a week later that it had not been removed, I was told by the front desk that the bank had to take care of it and nothing could be done on their end. My bank said it should've not even showed up but went ahead and put a dispute in order to remove the charge. read more

What can I say? I cheaped out just to check out Boston. First let me say: this is not the best area. Parking is utterly impossible. The second night we froze walking to Olive Garden which I coulda had in jersey but we didn't want to go out because we would lose our parking spot. Immediately upon walking in, night 1, I smell cigarettes. Thinking cigarette smoke might have traveled in when the door opened, I let it go. 2 hours later I walk out of my room for ice water they offer in the lobby. The hall way is clouded and reeks of smoke. I go to bathroom in lobby. There is a lady on the toilet WASTED yelling at her friend for not telling her I walked in as her "p**** is hanging out" so I walk right out the door. On my way back to my room (2am) I am walking down the hall and can hear a couple having the most loudest sex ever...you just can't make this up I wake up. Go out in hallway. 55 sunny outside. Hallway is filled with fresh cigarette smoke again. So now we lose it on the front desk. He promises a new room. Three hours later nothing. Had to go and repeat the grievance. Now the front desk attendant Has an attitude. 15 min later we are moved to a new floor. Loud booming music has been playing on and off but so far not overnight. I also walked down to elevator and now I smell marijuana This hotel is by far the worst I have ever in my life been to and i promise no matter what I'll never return. This hotel is where undesirables come to party. Animals. This is not at all acceptable at all. Don't come here and I definitely wouldn't bring the family read more
