It is a good hotel outside of Durango. It is not a perfect luxury hotel but a good hotel in budget option. From the outer looks, the hotel seemed to be old but the rooms were clean and comfortable including all the options which can come handy for everyone who stays here. The bathroom was also clean and spotless and loved the hot water in the bathroom. It helped us to get comfortable after a long drive. The hotel also had a beautiful lobby with different breakfast options which was good for us. I will say, all the staff I interacted with here were fantastic, but overall there's lots to be improved here. The motel is located at the far edge of town, nothing really walking distance. It is dog friendly which is nice, and there's lots of green space around the property, it's just odd to reach through the pool area. There's a river running right next to the building which is peaceful. Also of note, the continental breakfast options were strong and good quality, available til 10am. The building itself is super dated and run down, and it's literally covered in cobwebs and bugs, seemingly hasn't been cleaned in years. The corridors and doors are covered in webs and dead bugs. There were several flies in my room when I first entered. Inside the rooms feel dated as well. There were rips in the window screen so opening the window was out. But the air conditioner was super weak and located in the bathroom area so that was useless. I needed to use laundry services and though the prices were fine, the dryer doesn't get clothes very dry. Lastly I accidentally left behind two garments in the room (left drying since the dryer left them damp) and when I called, no one from their staff turned them in, very odd and upsetting because I know I left them there. Durango is a pretty pricey town, but this place is definitely overpriced given how filthy and rundown it is. read more

Located a short drive off the highway, Best Western Durango Inn & Suites is easy to get to and quiet enough to get a solid nights sleep! We spent just one night with our dog when passing through. Friendly professional service, clean room and basic amenities to refrigerate and heat food. Pet fee was very reasonable ($20) compared to nearby places we called on. Hotel staff and guests practiced social distancing and wore masks in communal spaces. The complimentary breakfast was a welcome delight! Call the front desk, select the items you want (banana, granola bar, breakfast burrito and choice of juice), they bag it up and mark it with your room number...voila! On the road again. Will return when in Durango again and recommend to travelers - especially those with fur babies! read more

Especially in times like this when cleanliness should be a top priority! Our room had a musky smell, sink was cheaply and poorly repaired and came clear off the countertop, crack in the wall, DIRTY SHEETS and the door way trim had visible soil marks from people NOT using the handle! Booked two nights over the Internet. My wife had twisted her back that morning before we left and when we got there we had a room on the second floor. I explained our situation and the lady that was checking us in (Becky Turner) was able to switch into a growing level room. Becky ended helping us many times over the two day stay. The motel is an older building that has recently had a facelift. Mostly of which was paint. Very clean with good sleeping beds. They have a good breakfast with eggs sausage, waffles, cereals. Pretty much a topical motel breakfast but better or more choice than most. Located a mile south of Durango. Easy in and out. read more

This is more of a Motel. It's very clean and the rooms are up-to-date. We didn't have a reservation. The desk clerk did try and charge us more than what was posted on their website. So don't be afraid to call them out for a lower price. The rooms were roomy and the air worked great. Although, they need to clean their filters!! Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We love make ur own waffles. The only draw back is the hotel lobby is HOT no air. (Ridiculous) Same for the breakfast area, although in the mornings it's not as hot. Would I stay her again? First time we used Best Western! Very satisfied of this place. Nice two bed queen suite! A gorgeous view from the rear balcony! Beds were very comfortable, Wife and daughter stayed up late, so they were able to watch TV in the other room with out waking me up! Only drawback-- and it's a really big one -- is that we didn't sleep well due to so much noise. Big trucks and buses cranked on every hour, people blasted music, it sounded like someone was doing aerobics above us, and there was a loud church youth group there. Walls are thin. We were in 115. Yep. This place worked out great. dustin was very accomodating. When we arrived, they were almost booked. We had reservations so the room was no problem. My bf showed his BEst Western card and we were given a free upgrade to a suite. The room was large and clean. service was great! The faciltiy is right on the main highway so it's a littlenoisy outside, but silent inside. After a day of rafting we cooled off in the pool. Again, it was a little noisy, but it was an outdoor pool so I have NO COMPLAINTS about the traffic noise at all. We're pretty active and needed the room primarily to sleep, which we did like babies. We brought our bikes and were able to ride the nearby bike path, and ride into town. Great value for our dollar! read more

Disgusting!!! The rooms had lots of bugs at night. There was no water to drink unless you brought the water. The only nice thing about the hotel was the pool and hot tub area. The rooms were a bit on the smaller side and would've been a great place to stay at had it not been for the dirtiness (especially in these times). Great place we had first floor and could park right out front . The pool was open and so was the hot tub and social distancing of course but still good . They made breakfast burritos and a fruit and a drink every morning and had it ready in a bag . The rooM was nice no issues at all. Really enjoyed my stay here! They have the greatest outdoor hot tub of all time. I loved going in it at night. We got the suite for a couple nights and it was very large. I loved it. Our room was very clean but very small. We heard a lot of plumbing noise throughout the night. The front desk staff was very nice but the breakfast attendant was definitely nice. Breakfast was served from 6:30 to 9:30. We arrived at 9:16 and she was putting food away. I asked if they had more oatmeal and she said no, could not make any more. Had printed reservation for 1 night. Paid cash. Provided card for $1 charge for possible incidentals. Clerk at end of check in asked if we were staying 6 nights. We said NO. I asked her if she ran card for additional nights. She said NO. Went back down to lobby an hour later for another matter and clerk admitted there was an issue and she ran our bank card for almost $1000. Basic end of story...Manager was fine. Manager told clerk she made mistake so clerk must fix. Clerk told us only our bank could fix and made us do all the legwork which we did. Bank eventually did fix but it took over an hour and a half of our time in the lobby to rectify. Not a good thing. No offer of compensation for ridiculous situation through their fault. Room itself was fine. Front AC in suite was REALLY weak. Back AC unit was terrific. Clean basic room. Stuff happens. How you handle the issue really speaks to the operation. read more

They gave lots of info on where to go in Durango, spending lots of time on explaining various attractions. My experience here was on par with positive experiences at other BW hotels. Stayed with Roadscholar Group on July 12 Room 124. Wife and I covered in flea bites. Older typical Best Western but this location allows pets in all rooms instead of restricting them to a few selected ones. This Best Western gives new meaning to fleabag motel. This was not an inexpensive trip and I did not expect to be housed in the local kennel. Pets should be left safely at home and not inflicted on other guests with their pests. read more

The location is convenient to downtown. There is a pool and a hot tub. The hot tub is a nice setting so long as you don't mind walking through the breakfast room. Towels are provided at the pool. A 100% cancellation fee was charged due to the late cancellation. I reached out to Becky's team knowing that we had a slim chance for any partial refund. Becky and her team went above and beyond their duty call trying to help us applying the cancellation fee as a credit towards our next stay on November 24th. Becky called several times just to make sure that I worked it out with booking.com to avoid double charge. I was so touched by their hospitality and flexibility. I will never visit another Best Western establishment again and will do my utmost to ensure none of my colleagues or family do either. I stayed for my first time at a Best Western in Cortez with some of my family the night before and was very pleased. Unfortunately I made the mistake of assuming all of your properties put their customers needs as a priority when I booked my next night at The Best Western in Durango. I booked a room for a larger party including my niece's dog at the Best Western Durango for check-in August 8th. My check-in was fairly straightforward and we went to our room to drop off our things. Upon returning in the evening to a boiling hot room, we went to the front desk and spoke with a young man who tried his best to help. The young man informed me that there was already an existing work order for the malfunctioned air conditioning in our room due to the guests prior experiencing the same issues. He then proceeded to inform me that the hotel did not have any vacancies that could accommodate our party size of 8. At this point I was upset for being rented a room with advertised air conditioning and rented one that knowlingly did not have it functional. I requested a full refund to be able to go to another establishment that could deliver the services they advertised. He said he did not have the ability to issue a refund and that I would have to speak with the manager when she arrived at 730 the next morning to request a refund. The best he could do was offer a box fan to try to ease our suffering (and the dog's) in the stuffy room. When I returned at 730 am the next morning to speak to the manager she was extremely rude and condescending in the way she spoke to me. She did not seem to care that our party that had five kids and a pet were not able to sleep through the night due to the discomfort, but instead seemed more focused on rantings about "how dare that employee inform a customer about an open work order". The best the manager was willing to do for our party was issue a $50 credit which was extremely insulting. She then further tried to insult my intelligence by stating she had no boss I could speak to and that they did not have a corporate office I could call since she claimed they were privately owned. This establishment has potential, but is unfortunately very mismanaged and for that reason I will not be visiting a Best Western property again. read more

This place is great. The room was clean and nice, we had the two queen suite. At check in, of age guests were offered complimentary wine. The suite had a back door that led to a path to the hot tub and pool, which were on opposite ends. This meant the hot tub was not overrun by children. We checked into this hotel, desk manager, Linda was as pleasant as could be. We got a suite for just $20 more and well worth it. Rooms were clean and spacious. The suite overlooks a nice green patch of grass, great for your dog, this place is dog friendly, they even have a hot tub outside on the deck. We also had a deck.
