I booked a regular room with two queen beds for one night stay. When I arrived, they upgraded me to suite room, which was very spacious. I didn't ask why, but it was a nice gesture on their end. As a platinum elite member with IHG, they really try to accommodate for their members well. Staff was very friendly when checking in/out and when I was looking around for a plastic fork. This was my first time staying at Holiday Inn Gettysburg and I was amazed by how new everything looked. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker available to use. The bathroom had this large beautifully lit LED mirror. Room was clean and had brown modern minimalist design. Beds were really comfortable and I think they were new since there was a little sign saying "enjoy our new beds." As a Holiday Inn Express, they offer free breakfast. It's just your typical continental breakfast, but they still have some variety (cereal, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, pastries, bagels, fruit). I think the hotel is in a great location, right behind an outdoor mall, about 25 minutes from Liberty Ski Resort, few minutes from the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. These were the few reasons why I decided to book here. The hotel was visible while driving on Route 15, but once I took the exit, it was somewhat confusing to get to the actually Holiday Inn. You have to basically go through the outdoor mall The only complaint I had was the decreased shower head water pressure. I had wanted to really like this Holiday Inn. The pros of this place is the location. You can hop right back on 15 easily as the highway is right there. A decent breakfast selection. And a nice coffee bar is available all day . This place definitely needs some tlc.. here's the Cons. One elevator was down which made the Fourth of July weekend quite a long wait to catch an elevator. I am a platinum elite member and I asked for a 2 PM check out. He was unable to do that. But was able to offer a 12 PM check out. I just ended up leaving early. I got a room with two queen beds. One of the beds the sheets were not changed. There was hair all in them and I smelled them.. they smelled like dirty hair. Fortunately, the bed I slept in I believe the sheets were changed. There is no Internet TV at this hotel so if you want to watch YouTube, or Netflix, you are out of luck. The pool capacity at this hotel is only for nine people. It is the smallest hotel pool I've ever seen. All in all I wouldn't stay here again. I feel as a platinum elite member they could of done much better . read more

All they care about is getting the reservation. We spent 3 nights there and we left some clothes in the have tried to call the front desk and end up in reservations. We got somebody at the front desk. We were transferred to housekeeping and had to leave a message and no one called this back. We called again and got the front desk. And they said that the safe was locked and if we had the clothes that would be in the safe and someone would call us back. No. One called us back. We are trying again right now. And the front desk number has no answer. So I guess either they're not taking the calls or somebody is not working. This is about the worst customer service I have experienced. read more

This is a brand new hotel and the first time I have stayed at a holiday Inn in years. The hotel is in a great location being next to the outlets and a couple of minutes from the battlefield. When we were arriving our gps (Waze) tried to take us down to the next exit and then backtrack a couple miles. Do yourself a favor get off at the outlets and cut through. The rooms are obviously modern and they have bath and body works toiletries which my fiancé was stoked about. The room (king suite) was very spacious and super clean. The shower is good size and there is a mini fridge and microwave. We skipped the breakfast that they offered to go to a restaurant, only because we are down there a few times a year and know the area well. The staff is very friendly both upon checking in and when I went to get ice at 11pm, a staff member was checking the floor and asked how my stay was and if I needed anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting the area, and I can't wait to stay here again. read more

Stayed here for a work trip and was so pleased with this hotel! This Holiday Inn was built in 2017 so it is very new and you can tell. The staff was nice, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hot breakfast was actually SO good! The location is a bit of a ways out of downtown. It actually shares a parking lot with the outlets. I wish it was a little closer to downtown, but I would definitely stay here again! read more

This hotel has so much going for it, but there are a few significant issues. First the good: - The hotel appears to be new, and the rooms look it. The beds are comfortable. Spacious and open is a good way of describing the bathroom. Overall, this is one of the better rooms I've stayed in at an economy hotel in a while. - The breakfast was one of the best I've had at any of the economy hotel lines. It is, of course, all self-serve and mass produced, but it was good quality. The Cinnabon buns were dried out from sitting under a heat lamp, but the bacon, oatmeal, pancakes and juices were all tasty. - Most of the staff were friendly. However, there was a standout problem (below). Now the bad: - None of the standard GPS apps actually bring you to the hotel. Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze all show incorrect directions for getting here. We had to drive around a bit before we found the proper driveway that loops past the outlet mall to get you to the location. - The internet speed is unacceptably slow. I don't expect that a hotel will offer anything close to what I have at home or the office. However, I do expect something useful. It took almost 5 minutes for my laptop just to connect to the WiFi. Everything I attempted to do online was painfully slow. A speed test showed a D/L speed of only 0.60 Mbps and the U/L portion of the test failed completely. Until this date, the worst I have had at any hotel is 5 down and 1 up. - The front desk attendant on the evening I arrived was curt, bordering on surly. I arrived late due to construction delays on the road. I was very tired and was trying to get my family herded into the hotel so we could get some sleep. The attendant was not sympathetic to our situation and had more paperwork for me to fill out that at any other hotel I've ever stayed at. To top it off, while I was still at the front desk I asked for two additional bath towels - again, I had my entire family there and it should have been obvious we would need extras - and he insisted on questioning me about why I would need the towels. When he brought the towels out, he smiled and said they were the small ones. I'd normally dismiss this as one employee having a bad day, but looking at some of the other reviews, it seems that poor customer service may be more common here that at other hotels. - Spiders in the room. I guess this could happen anywhere. Bottom Line: Based on the rooms and breakfast, I would not mind staying here again. However, due to the internet speeds (I do a lot of biz traveling and need a decent connection) and customer service, I would have to score a pretty good deal to make it worth my while. read more

Obviously I'm partial to the Hi-Ex and this one fulfilled most expectations. Super disappointed by the shower's water pressure like a watering can, though. Grrr... so annoying. Very roomy--I am guessing larger than most Hi-Ex rooms which was great. I appreciated the hotel being on the outskirts of town while maintaining convenient access for sightseeing. This architecture should rightly not interfere with the beauty of legendary historical charm. read more

Group of four came to visit battlefield, National Fire Academy, and the Gettysburg downtown area. I called they gave me a rate and total them we were IHG members and had called other places in the area and received a better rate than there online price. They were willing to beat the other businesses and placed rooms across from each other. We were greeted by a friendly smile upon check in and that was very smooth. Breakfast had fresh fruit, cold and hot drinks, and hot food. Staff was very polite when we were leaving for the day or returning from a day out. Rooms were both clean a freshened up every day. Very good value. Very new and clean. Minimalist modern decor is well thought out. Stay at the back of the hotel to minimize noise from the highway. Pool is nice though it was quite murky the night we attended. Breakfast is fair (as expected). We found the water pressure and temperature more than adequate. Excellent air conditioning and amenities in the room. A mac and a PC for use in the Business Centre. Fitness room was as expected for this level though 2/3 treadmills were not working correctly. First time on the east coast and decided to stay in one of my favorite hotels and the staff is amazing especially the kitchen staff for breakfast! They keep it all stocked and have a smile on there face especially the lady with the glasses and pony tail! She was a sweet very sweet lady! Will come back !! read more

But, the bananas are still green (which is forgivable) and the shower still does not have shower-fanuegen (shower-pleasure in German, which is not). the shower was basically lukewarm and warmed up to a little more than lukewarm. they have new mats in the shower that are trendy and helpful to avoid slips. and it is easy to find once you know how. we could go back. read more

I stayed here for three nights. I will tell you without a doubt that this is the cleanest and finest Holiday Inn Express you'll ever find. Period. The rooms are as modern as it gets. They even have Apple computers in your business center. The staff is very friendly. My only complaint would be the quality and quantity of the food in the morning. But perhaps because they are at very low occupancy this time of year, they didn't put everything out. But there are plenty of other restaurants nearby. Can't afford $200 like the other guy that left 1 star? There are plenty of other places to stay. But probably won't be as clean, new, friendly, and with a great exercise room and indoor heated swimming pool! Update: The food here really sucks. To begin, it is not the fault of the young man who was desperately working his tail off to accommodate guests. His name is Joel. I commend his effort! He will go places in life! But, as an employee sat outside smoking a cigarette (or just taking an undeserved break), The customers inside we're trying to figure out what to eat. Everything was running out. The place was a mess. Nothing was being replenished with exception of what Joel was trying to do. When I mentioned it to the front desk staff, she didn't seem overly concerned. When the woman outside finally came in, they scrambled to catch up. But not before many guests complained. Somebody dropped the ball. Did the office staff let the morning staff know of the guest forecast? Probably not. But Joel took the brunt of the work load without much concerned with anybody else. Great value and great rooms. Previously booked at Eisenhower then read the reviews. Yikes! Glad I cancelled and booked here. Breakfast served daily (until 9:30am weekdays and 10:30am weekends). Not sure why the other reviewer was crying about only having one coffee cup in the room. We had 4 and the cleaning people were more then accessible for both more coffee and more cups etc. Breakfast works for what it is advertised for. No IHOP or Denny's, but not a continental breakfast either. My only recommendation would be to throw some signs up on how to get to the hotel (as it is not the easiest to fine). Exiting the 15, turn into the "Outlet Shopes". Hang your first right. Turn left at second stop sign and head to the end of the road. read more

Modern hotel with great service. pool was well kept and nice to sit around. Hotel is not even five minutes from most historical sites and located directly behind walking distance to shopping center also. if you are unsure about the historical sites and what to see and do ask the front desk as they had great advice on the area which helped me a great amount while on my trip. read more

This hotel is brand new - the rooms are SUPER SPACIOUS and the staff is really fun and friendly. I really enjoyed their fitness center. It is one of the biggest and best fitness centers I've ever seen in a hotel. The overall property is VERY clean and worth the stop. Doesn't hurt that it sits in the same complex as an outlet mall! You can see the Gettysburg Holiday Inn from Rte 15 but once you exit it is difficult to find. It's at the back of the Outlet center down a long driveway. They need a few more signs. The hotel really needs to be located within walking distance of the outlets. It's silly to drive for a minute or two to go shopping; yet carrying bags down the long driveway would be cumbersome. Also, no there's no historic downtown Gettysburg feel here. The hotel is brand spanking new! It even smells new. The room was immaculate. I skipped my usual bug and dirt check - it was completely unnecessary. The mattress was hands-down the most comfortable mattress I ever slept on in a hotel. The electric blinds are operated by a wall switch which I thought was pretty cool - until I discovered that only one switch was working in my room. The decor is so modern, it's a little bland. My room had pictures of geometric shapes on the walls. It would have been better to have nice pastoral or historic pictures of Gettysburg to give the place more character. The tub was incredibly slippery. There were no rubber grips on the bottom - very dangerous! A nice continental breakfast was offered with an outdoor seating area. Always makes suggestions and listens unlike other places that just hand you a pamphlet and say figure it out. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Internet is fast and Breakfast is fresh. Gold rewards member. We have been lucky when we travel and several of the Express have been new as was this one. Our room was a spacious with a lounging couch. A previous review said the breakfast area was small. That is correct. Overall the breakfast was good, as usual. However the breakfast sausage was not warm. I'll have to admit that I tried the one minute pancake machine for the first time ever..... If you want pancakes, go to one of the big 3 for breakfast. Check in was easy and the same as other Express. Desk person was pleasant. We did not use the pool area. The price for us was worth the stay. read more
