Stayed over Memorial weekend. Good overall experience. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. The good: Check-in was easy and fast. Everyone was so friendly, from the check-in clerk to the maids. Very helpful when I had questions. They even had quarters on hand when my daughter unexpectedly needed to wash laundry (they have on-site quarter laundry machines). Special shout-out to Tammy (second-floor maid) who was super nice and helpful! She worked with us on a time to get towels and trash that wouldn't interfere with our toddler's nap. She stocked us with tissues (one kiddo was sick) and plenty of fresh towels and made sure I knew where she would be if I needed anything. Breakfast staff offered ice when my toddler bonked her head. The breakfast was good: hot scrambled eggs, sausage, gravey. Hard-boiled eggs, two kinds of cold cereal, hot oatmeal packets, mini bagels, mini muffins, rolls. Yogurt. And hot waffles, which were fluffy and really good! Coffee, tea, juices. They had a few board games and kid books near the breakfast area, which was helpful when my toddler was done with breakfast but we weren't. The room was quiet- I didn't hear more than one "thump" and that was during the daytime. The hotel was within walking distance of many eateries, fun shops, and even the beach is a 10min walk away. Great location. The bad: Room was smaller than I expected, which made for a cramped stay with 5 people. We had a two queen room and brought an air mattress as well. Room was dusty but overall clean Only had a few channels of direct tv, and no access to Disney+, Prime, or Netflix. Not sure if it was advertised but would have been nice to know ahead of time, especially with kids. Thankfully, there were some decent kids movies playing most of the time. There's a tv in the lobby/breakfast area, which one morning was playing a show that I felt wasn't appropriate for younger audiences. It was a bit humid. The room a/c helped with thata bit. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and a fine launchpad for our Memorial weekend adventures. I would come here again. read more

Where do I start with this property? First of all, it's zero Stars. Especially for the lack of customer service or concern about our concerns. We were charged like $280 for one night for a substandard, tiny room, with two queens in it. There were three adults in the room. Tiny bathroom you could barely turn around in it. It look like they tried to paint the walls and put a couple cheap canvas pictures around. Furniture was worn out and when I went to wipe the arms on it it was black . But what was the worst was no air conditioning. There was an air conditioning unit but it did not work. And that's a problem. I need to have cool air in a building. And regardless whether or not we are by the ocean a couple blocks away, it was pretty hot in that room. They brought us a fan. When I reported our discomfort the next day the manager Amber had zero empathy when I was talking to her. There was a customer behind me that said "oh I thought we were the only ones that had a broken air conditioner." Fans do not work because we sweat through the whole night. It was so uncomfortable. In the room, if somebody was sitting at the desk in the room, you couldn't even walk by without the person getting out of the chair and moving it. That's how small the space was. Constantly moving a chair to walk to the bathroom. I have never, ever, been charged that much for a substandard, Best Western hotel room, in my life. The breakfast was below standards, fake butter, fake cream cheese, fake coffee. They had bagels the size of a quarter. Uninspired breakfast I don't eat sausage or instant eggs. There was brown cereal, no fruit It was disgusting. None of us slept that night. We were that sweaty hot in a bad way. I eventually called the corporate office and got some solutions and we ended up checking out ahead of time the next day. We were going to stay 2 days but they weren't going to really make it right. They told us they didn't have to give us air conditioning. They didn't have to fix the air conditioning unit, that was sitting there in the room and the attitude was so negative. We just couldn't justify staying there and giving them any more money. Think twice before you stay here. It's not that enjoyable. And for almost 300 a night, you expect more than a ho-hum experience on a burner. The only up part of it was it was in downtown Long Beach so you can walk all over the place. But the room somehow accumulated heat and even with the windows open we couldn't get rid of the hotness and humidity. 000 minus for customer service , if you call it that. I had to call corporate to even make them listen to me. They also didn't have enough luggage stands. There was absolutely nowhere to go. There wasn't enough chairs we had to ask for another chair. The TV channels were non-existent... And I found out they're owned by Vicks investments which is from India originally and they're buying up hotels in Oregon. Take care of the properties you have and upgrade your standards for eating and your rooms cuz they look like shit. read more

Service was great. Place seems clean, but is a little worn. Not bad for place on the coast. If you are looking for a place to drop your stuff and then go out, this isn't bad, I guess. Seems overpriced, even in August. Rooms are small and sparse. I feel a little itchy after being here. I would not recommend, but I also wouldn't necessarily warn people away. Meh. The mattress was horrible. We were up all night with it squeaking every time we move. One side was more broke in than the other so you fought to not roll to the center. Worst night lack of sleep ever in all of my travels. After trying to sleep on the floor with blankets. I gave up and went and laid down in my car but it was to cold. So just no sleep at all tonight. My back is killing me, I have a headache from being up all night and I am exhausted and have a 5 hour drive ahead of me. So if you ever get room 202 make sure the mattress has been fixed. We pay for a hotel to have a place to sleep. Your hotel is nice and clean. Your employees are so kind and helpful. read more

The staff was excellent, friendly, helpful, everything you could as of a hospitality staff. The room was really clean. The bathroom had soapy streaks in the shower. The bed was horrible so uncomfortable. The bed only had a sheet and a thin bedspread. For $144.00 a night, they can afford a blanket or two. The breakfast meats were greasy. Loraine and the GM ( I didn't catch it) we're extremely attentive and made the stay feel like a bed and breakfast. I also loved the selection they had for breakfast. I've stayed here twice and I decided I'm never coming back. My family and I paid almost 3,000.00 to stay for a week. When we checked in the person at the front desk said, " Oh you're the ones staying a long time, well we are short staffed so we can't clean your room unless your sheets are feeling crispy. For our staffs safety. " I was shocked by how welcoming she was. That's sarcasm by the way. Also we were masked and she and her staff wasn't. Sure you care about your staffs safety lady. Also there were chocolate cookies out that everyone and their mother was touching. On top of that... Our TV kept randomly not turning on so I would need to reboot it randomly or keep it on all day. A couple lightbulbs were out. I would have ask throughout the week for towels and I finally got someone to vacuum my carpet. I asked for an extra blanket and you would think I was stealing it the way the lady was like you have one already. I told her I need it for my boys. Yes never again! There's tons of places there anyways. Also one last thing.. I understand that everyone is short staffed. I work in the medical field. I get it, but you also have to huddle together and work as a team to keep your guests happy. They shouldn't have to feel how short staffed you are. We always try our very best to provide great patient care no matter what. So Best Western needs to get their shit together! read more

Easy access to the beach, restaurants in town. The only complaint I had was the weather but that's irrelevant for this review and only a minor detail. The free breakfast was delicious. The beds were so comfy and I was generously surprised at how nice and clean the lobby was. I wouldn't mind staying here for more than two nights which is how long me and my family were there. Nice and inviting atmosphere and staff. Only one grocery store in town though but it's a nice place to stay at that nicely correlates to the town. read more

We are definitely a fan of this place. Evidently it had recently been remodeled. Everything was super clean and super nice. Staff was wonderful. The bed was wonderful. The hotel is located in the center of town. It's an easy walk to just about any place in Long Beach including the beach. A full breakfast is served and even it was great. Friday 09/15/18 We had to ask to have our room made up. Today Saturday we told them we would be out of the room in about 30 minutes. We got back to our room at about 08:30 PM Our room was not made up, There were no cookies at the desk either night and no one on the front desk to let know our room was not made up. The cost of staying at any hotel these days is daunting so, as far as price comparison in Long Beach, this hotel was right in the middle. We weren't sure what to expect but the location was perfect, walking distance to most everything. It was very clean and the coffee bar is always so great! Most importantly, the staff at the Best Western In Long Beach was one of the most friendly, that we have ever experienced. This all made the cost much more bearable. read more

It was AMAZING! The night clerk was super friendly and accomidating. She gave us wonder ideas of places to visit and things to do. It was our first time there so we had no idea what they had to offer! We were there for my birthday and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was far better then we expected! Waffle maker, eggs, potatoes, and sausage patties as well as fruit boiled eggs and drinks. We look forward to going back for our Anniversary in June! read more

just stayed from thursday sept 9 to sun sept 12. was told during check-in that there would be no house keeping due to covid saftey protocols. thought that was fine and dumped my own trash and got my own fresh towels befor leaving the property all day on friday. returned friday night and noticed my room had fresh made beds and thought that was odd. woke up sat morning and realized we had personal items stolen and talked to front desk and filed police report and noticed this seemed very usual for this hotel. asked about why they were leaving the lower floor side door opened all weekend 30 feet from a home less tent with no resonable answer. this episode ruined my weekend and they offered to comp one night. dont stay here unless your willing to get robbed by the staff and share the facility with homeless. i rate this place a zero read more

Not only is this place almost impossible to find per GPS but we arrived after a 4 hour drive down the pacific coast, to find out their "system" had our reservation for the next day instead of current day. Instead of offering to help me resolve the situation, she told me to book a room I am to call Expedia. I didn't understand why I couldn't book directly? Went outside the lobby and called Expedia, and they had the same exact reservation date as I did. They contacted the hotel and they refused to refund us for the room! Worst hotel manager experience ever. Reservation was made by accident (was suppose to be a Best Western south of the Long Beach location) and when I went to check to the hotel I thought I reserved they told me the reservation at the wrong motel. I called to cancel and they said they would still have to charge my card because I didn't give them enough notice. Talked to the manager who didn't care at all about the mistake and told me to call customer service. Called customer service and they were super nice and said the Manager was the only one who could cancel and they would call them and talk to her. Got back on the phone and the hotel told them there wasn't a manager on site. I instantly called back the hotel and asked for a manager and was instantly transferred to the manager who picked up the phone and said she would not refund my card. Called back customer service again who then called the hotel back again and was told no manager was available. Customer service lady was so polite and very frustrated that the manager would not talk to her. Will never stay here and recommend no one stay here. read more

The motel appears decent from the outside, even the lobby looks nice. When we checked in, we just got our keys and went about some business we had to take care of in Long Beach. We stayed out for dinner and returned to go to our room around 7:00 PM. At first the roomed seemed okay, then we found some used plasticware along the side of the bed. Obviously the housekeeper missed this. Upon using the bathroom, my wife noticed a used bath towel hanging on the hook behind the door. That was a disgusting discovery. It was late and we didn't request to change rooms. On the bright side, the breakfast had a wide variety and was fairly good. Don't think we'd stay here again. read more

Stayed here on a Saturday and was greeted by a great and friendly staff. The hotel takes dogs and seemed to be a lot of them. The rooms were cramped as the furniture did not seem to fit the room well. The bath room can sounded like a jet getting ready to take off and was on when ever the light was on. Breakfast was sub par, but did consist of eggs waffles bacon and other various proteins. The best feature to this hotel is the location. It has the best location and is close to the beach and all that downtown has to offer. Would stay there again. read more

I booked rooms here at Best Western Long Beach Wa and unfortunately had a misunderstanding take place. I attempted to work with the General Manager/Regional Manager Kerry who would only correspond with me via email. As of today, I have not heard back from him after sending my last email almost a week ago. As a Partner in a local business, this customer service experience is not acceptable and would be subject to review within my company. We are frequent travelers in our business and we will now review our policy of utilizing Best Western in the future. read more

Be careful to ask for a final receipt when you check out as they charged us $80 just to clean the sheets after our dog was sick (it was just dry kibble). My husband and I were in Newport Oregon for a half marathon and decided to spend one more day on the coast before heading back home to Tacoma. We stay at a best western in my home town often, so we had points to use for a discount on this room. Overall, we paid around $100 for a clean and comfortable room along with a great continental breakfast the next morning. The hotel isn't right on the beach, but I was 10x more comfortable and content here than when we stayed at a "trendier" hotel in Long Beach on the water. My wife and I stayed here many times. And... Well, it seems that they do not clean very well. Every time we stayed there we noticed that the hotel got rustier and dirty with each stay. I expected a lot from this BW for $400 a night! Apparently it was just price gouging. The owner apparently doesn't put that money back into the rooms. My mattress had a sag in the middle that you had to fight all night to stay out of. When you did turn over the bed frame creaked and squeaked. The room itself smelt like a gym even after the housekeeper came and sprayed febreeze in it. Breakfast was your standard BW breakfast with the exception that they kept running out of everything. The only reason I'm not giving one star is that the staff was so incredibly nice. With this hotel you do not get what you pay for. read more

On the expensive side for quality, no pool and provided continental breakfast was less abundant than we are used to. We drove past the hotel twice, it is kind of hidden from the road. Nicely redone. It was a motel 6. Wonderful breakfast. The only bad thing is the bathroom. There is no soap holder in the shower so you myst put everything on the floor. By the way the shower is very nice, it is a huge open shower. Wonderful rooms for disabled. read more

I have stayed at this BW before via booking via Best Western and my rewards number. We stayed on 4/17/17, booking via Booking.com as it had a great deal. I see now how they treat those of us that get a lower price. The hotel was nowhere near full but they put us next door to a room with a barking dog. Additionally, the room had no closet or any way to hang up clothes. I have stayed in lodging all over the world and this is the first time there wasn't even a hook on the wall to hang a coat, let alone a rod and hangers. Also no soap in the bathroom. Guess they feel that us pricebusters don't need to clean ourselves. Last stay here though we come to town on business regularly. read more

I'd give this place a zero if there was a star for it. We drove from our home in Maple Valley to Long Beach, WA had reservations for a room and this room was canceled. We made two reservations through this company and they cancelled the one room. We did not do the canceling. And this is now the second time. Geez Best Western get your reservation people educated in making reservations. They need to speak ENGLISH and understand the spoken words of ENGLISH. read more
