The nurses and MA were all helpful despite the long wait. But recognizing that this is an urgent care and a walk in clinic, that's expected. Con: Despite having a wait area the space of about 15' x 9', patients were not required to wear a mask even if they're coughing and clearly showing signs of being infectious to others in that tight space. Being that this is a health facility. policy should reflect the wellbeing of everyone. There were elderlies, people with compromised immune system and children which makes mask requirement evermore important.

She was so miserable, her fever just…read morewasn't moving, and then she started showing other symptoms like having a runny nose and a bit of cough, plus she started becoming pretty hoarse. My sister is a nurse so I had her check her a few times for wheezing and whatnot, and possibly to put me at ease she suggested I take her to urgent care. This one was closest. One of the things it has going for it is that it's not Riverbend, because the ER there is insane. We were in and out of here within about an hour. The receptionist wasn't the friendliest but the other staff we interacted with were. While I appreciate that it was relatively quick for us to be seen and leave--which I especially appreciated because trying to keep a toddler happy in a place like that isn't always easy--it was what happened after my visit that left me a little unsure about the place. My child had a COVID-flu-RSV test and they called back with the results after we left. Unfortunately my babe had RSV (thank god she had a vaccine for it as soon as she was eligible because I can't imagine her having this without it, but that's another story). I had questions about how to best care for her during her illness and the person I spoke with couldn't answer my questions and was instead asking whomever was sitting with her at the desk. It did not at all inspire confidence, and I called my daughter's pediatrician to get advice I felt I could trust.

    I have had issues with BestMed in the past on a professional level.  When I got sick in February, I…read morefigured those issues wouldn't affect a personal visit.  It was still awful! My wife made an appointment online. We arrived about a half an hour early (just because that's how we were raised).  We waited for 2 hours before they finally called me back.  Then I waited another 45 minutes before the doctor came in. She didn't listen to me.  My wife could audibly hear a rattle in my chest when breathing normally.  The doctor couldn't... with the stethoscope.  I told her my fever came and went, but that I'd had it off and on for a week.  She said, "As long as you're improving, there's really nothing to do but wait."  During the conversation it came up that I have mild asthma, but that I haven't had an inhaler for a long time.  She told me to just keep using it, if the wheezing persists... but I wasn't wheezing... and she said my chest sounded clear... AND... I don't have an inhaler.  So she wrote me a prescription for a new one.  She also said she'd order a swab of my throat, just in case, but she was pretty sure it was just a viral infection and I'd just have to wait to get over it.  The nurse came in and swabbed my throat and said I should hear back from them on Monday (it was Friday). I never did. I went by the pharmacy the following  Wednesday to pick up my inhaler prescription (because I wasn't wheezing and didn't really need it right away) and the pharmacist said I had two prescriptions ordered for me - one for albuterol (inhaler) and one for Amoxicillin!? I tried calling BestMed to find out why they ordered an antibiotic for a viral infection, but was put on hold and didn't have time to wait.  I was feeling quite a bit better by that point too. So I wasn't too concerned about it, just confused. 18 days later... I get a letter in the mail from BestMed telling me to contact them.  They said they had tried to call me (I checked my phone - no missed messages), but couldn't reach me.  The letter said that there was an abnormality in my lab results that they wanted to discuss with me and that they ordered a prescription for an antibiotic that I should take the full course.  So I tried to call them again. I waited on hold for 45 minutes!! Only to be told that a medical assistant would call me back. They never did. I went on their website and left this post as feedback. They thanked me and said someone would contact me shortly... They never did.

Well, as a former employee myself, I never expected to become a patient, especially not an ICU Heart patient. It has been so long since I retired that nobody there knew me except for one nurse. I was very grateful for the level of professionalism I was accorded and the timeliness of everyone involved. Having a Triple Bypass is no picnic. However, the staff continued to assure me all along the way. All accommodations were made for my needs and that of the Mrs. Staff were exceedingly polite and very patient with us as we navigated this 'other side of the coin'. Everyone from Registration all the way to the CNA that wheelchaired me to the exit door were very nice. It is amazing how differently people come across when your life is in their hands. I am exceedingly grateful and appreciative of all the staff and care I received while I was there. Now I am home and completing recovery from my successful surgery. I feel great and look forward gratefully to the next few decades this surgery has provided me.

BUT: You can spend years ... literally years ... on a PeaceHealth waiting list in order to get a primary care provider, the kind of doctor you need for referring you to specialists. If you can even get on that list, reliably reported to be thousands of names long, you may mysteriously disappear from the list with nobody telling you. And finding a non-PeaceHealth local physician who will agree to be your primary care provider is impossible, I know from personal experience. "Not accepting new patients" are words you get used to hearing in Eugene or Springfield. Unless you've already been their patient for years and years, PeaceHealth in Eugene/Springfield can be a horror show. Thinking about moving to Eugene or Springfield? You may want to reconsider.

I make my yearly Medicare physical appointment a year ahead of time, they cancel it three months before, tell me that I cannot get another with my doctor until next year (it is June now), but they would be glad to make me a telehealth appointment....Isn't an annual checkup supposed to actually check things like blood pressure, heart rate, listening to lungs? apparently not if we are going to do it over the internet. I have had notes in my chart telling me that they are referring me to a specific practice. I hear nothing, so I call the practice. they have not received any referral, so call OMG, turns out they referred me to a completely different doctor, even though it is clearly stated in my chart where the referral is for. I am then told that that is just the state of medical care here in Oregon, so deal. There are things my doctor understands that are not in my chart where the whole point of having the same doctor is that there is continuity, not having to start over every time you go in. But of course, that is just the state of the medical process here in America,is what they tell me. I never had these problems in California.....
