Going to agree with the fellow one Star reviews the food and drinks are OK of course like all better buzz places they are way way overpriced.... but they know they are in a rich area here & can charge those prices which is fine... The problem with this location is the attitude of the customer service people ....you either get treated like you're an annoyance or that you are dumb for asking questions. Stopped by better buzz today for some coffee and was very happy I did! I ordered the best drink ever and they let me know they now even have the best pumpkin drink ever for the fall, Im so glad they let me know... I gave it a shot and the drink was delicious. Love how innovative Bette Buzz is with their coffee. From Turkish lattes to horchata lattes, you can have a little taste of cultural coffee aspects. The vanilla latte is also incredible even though it's just an americano with a vanilla syrup. The ambiance is perfect for a weekend catch up or WFH spot with the large floor to ceiling windows that are often left open. It does get a little busy, so perhaps take headphones if you're going to work. They offered some bites as well if you're hungry. read more

As a customer and an employee at better buzz Encinitas, I will have to honestly say this is the best place for all walks of life to come in and enjoy a truly unique experience. I seriously love coming to Better Buzz, but today was extra special thanks to McKenzie F! From the second I walked in, she was so friendly and welcoming. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she's doing and about the customers she's helping. I'm no stranger to Better Buzz, as it's been my favorite local coffee spot since I moved to SD 2021. I typically visit the Point Loma location, but I was visiting Encinitas today. Typically, I'm in and out since I order online. But it was my day off, and so I ordered from the counter at this location. Jen took my order, and she was the most personable service person I've ever had at Better Buzz. She asked me about my day and made meaningful conversation with me. I've been a fan of Better Buzz for years--what sets a truly great coffee shop apart isn't just the coffee (which, to be fair, is still solid here), but the people and the experience. That's what keeps customers coming back. Unfortunately, the Encinitas location seems to be losing sight of that. I visited the store this Saturday evening and was disappointed by both the cleanliness and the service. The front area where patrons sit to enjoy their drinks, chat, or get work done was dirty and clearly neglected. It doesn't take much to keep a space tidy, but it looked like no one had bothered to clean in a while. Even more frustrating was the attitude of the staff. A simple question about whether the Wi-Fi was working was met with an eye roll and zero initiative to check or assist. The store wasn't busy--no line, no rush--yet there was a complete lack of effort or courtesy. Customer service felt like an afterthought, if that. I'm a local and have supported Better Buzz for a long time, but if this is the direction the brand is heading as they continue to grow--detached staff and unclean stores--I'd rather take my business elsewhere. At least at Starbucks, I know I'll get a clean seat and someone willing to help. Do better, Better Buzz. read more

If you like drinking GOOD coffee while being MILDLY MOIST and quite COLD, then this is the coffee shop for you! (Further review below...) I am the worlds first Coffélier™ (pron: Coffee--lee-a). Think sommelier but for coffee. I've been severely addicted since I was 12 when my dad offered me a black drip coffee and I've never looked back. Considering my coffee palate has been in development for quite a bit longer than most, I consider myself reliable to review coffee. One thing is always true though, I never review stores with more than 100 locations. At that point, that would be as futile as reviewing every McDonalds, not worth your or my time. We know what we are getting with those stores. COFFEE: 3.5 /5 stars Bourbon-y. I know coffee should not taste like that, and a lot of people don't like bourbon, but I can't help it. That is the word that sprung to my mind at first sip. It's likely incorrect, but really, this coffee is a more complex flavor than I was anticipating. In traditional terms, I would describe this roast as far closer to a straight "medium" as opposed to "dark" or "light". Quite good coffee, most people would not think twice about it, and I am sure it will pair nicely with anything else you would normally have your coffee with (cream, sugar, etc) CUPS: 2.5 /5 stars - average My Americano was served in a plastic "sippy" cup - straws were available. I was -not- asked if it was "for-here" or "to-go". My personal preference is to be served in glass/ceramic/something not plastic, but alas, this cup was of good quality and up to normal, average standard. ATMOSPHERE: 2.0 /5 stars - It was cold. As in 58 degrees. Inside. This was a typical cold and wet Encinitas overcast morning. And yet, despite this, the store has huge-full-opening windows along its frontage... these were wide-open. It was cold. Even in my long sleeves, shoes, and pants... it was cold. If these were not open, the score would instead be a solid 4/5 stars. The store is large and spacious, with lovely adornments and accoutrements. But again, good luck staying here if you need to actually get some work done, or god-forbid you are a woman. My girlfriend would freeze in here and then be annoyed that we came lol However, service was extremely fast and quite friendly. PRICE: 2.5/5 Stars - Standard Pricing/Average Score My Americano was $4.85 or so, which is slightly above for SoCal and is just over what I have paid all week. I usually pay cash and leave the change in the tip jar, which is enough to make the staff smile usually, but not enough for me to expect more than regular service. PARKING: 2/5 Stars - TRICKY PARKING This is not just an issue for Better Buzz, but this is an issue for ALL of downtown Encinitas. Parking is normally quite abhorrent. Now, when I arrived here just before 7am, there was ample, free-parking. But speaking from experience, parking is normally terrible. You are better off parking at the train-station if you can, and then walking from there. Train-station parking is free. OVERALL: 3.51 /5 Stars - Above Average, likely the best coffee shop in Encinitas, which is high praise. Better Buzz, where do I start... I like the ammo canister on the shelf. I like the way I feel like I'm in a bar and not a traditional coffee-house. I like that dogs are allowed. I like that you are open so early. I like that there has been obvious care, attention-to-detail, and thought put into your interior. I like your coffee shop. I really do. I visited the Encinitas Better Buzz earlier this week, and even though I normally love everything from this company, the drink and sandwich I ordered just weren't quite what I'm used to. I decided to call the store, not really expecting much since a few days had already passed and it was a busy holiday week. That's when I spoke with Jackie, the store manager and truly, she changed my whole experience. From the moment she picked up the phone, Jackie was so kind, patient, and understanding. She listened to everything without making me feel rushed or dismissed, and she genuinely cared about making things right. She immediately offered to remake my order for free, which already meant a lot, but when I explained that I don't live in the area, she went even further out of her way. Without hesitation, she offered to call another location closer to me so they could take care of it. She didn't owe me that level of help, yet she still made it happen. Jackie was my first point of contact, and she's the reason everything else fell into place so smoothly. Her kindness set the tone for this entire experience and reminded me why I love Better Buzz in the first place. It's rare to come across someone in customer service who is not just helpful, but genuinely compassionate. I'm truly grateful for her, and she deserves recognition for the way she treats people. Not sure what some of these negative reviews are about. Some people must not have worked in food and beverage in their life(everyone should). I've gotten to know these wonderful baristas pretty well and they are very fine young individuals most of which I would hire at my company because of how warm and welcoming they are. Not sure if the managers see this but you have great employees I don't think you should change a single thing about them. Very hard workers and I see it and appreciate it. I have had coffee here a few times, but for the first time today I tried a food item, and I was pretty impressed. I ordered the avocado toast, which comes with some feta cheese and cherry tomatoes on it as well. It was a nice, healthy breakfast (to combat the sugary drink I ordered, lol) which is hard to come by with most coffee places. The only bad thing I could say about this place is that it's usually very busy, which makes it hard to find anywhere to sit, but they can't help that they have lots of loyal customers! :) Definitely would go back for the toast, and would recommend for anyone who likes a quick breakfast. read more

This Franchise is unique and special! I have been in 7 different locations. Wherever I go I look for Better Buzz. I loooove Better Buzz. But the customer service at Encinitas is poor and mediocre. The person who was at the register was really rude. A couple of days later went back and she was cleaning and you could tell she wasn't happy at all. The perfect balance of coffee, sweetness, honey and vanilla flavor, truly one of the better cups of coffee I've had in a very long time. They also had a good selection of pastries and by mid morning, several sold out, so they just be pretty good! And a good selection of grab and go breakfast food also rounded out the menu. Lastly the staff were nice! Very friendly and welcoming! I visit Encinitas 4-5 times a year and this will definitely be on my rotation of coffee houses to stop at now!

We popped in here last December to grab some breakfast and drinks. I was excited to try their Golden Latte and their tasty breakfast tacos. I love how the shop is open and airy. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. I really thought the shaded patio was such a peaceful spot to just sit and relax. Service was good and both my drink and breakfast were on point in terms of taste. You just can't beat west coast breakfast tacos! I saw lots of locals and tourists alike walking over or riding up on their bikes as parking is pretty limited but don't let that stop you from giving them a try.

Just a heads up, parking may be an issue depending on the time and day but you'll eventually find a spot somewhere. Inside and outside of Lofty, there's plenty of seating available. I like the layout of this one and it's larger...an absolutely perrrfect spot to chill and/or catch up with friends. The staffs' awesome customer service skills were consistent based on my past experiences at other locations. Just remember, you'll have to put the disk on the circle on the table so they can find you. I misunderstood and placed the disk anywhere on the table. Anyhow, that's the only location with this method which was new to me. The food was pretty good but wish my Yogurt, Fruit & Granola had more fruit to balance out the yogurt. Overall, I still had a positive experience and highly recommend Lofty Coffee to the Yelp Community :-)

Two at our table of 6 tried it - note that the fruits mentioned are a drizzle on the plate with 3 slices of banana and 1/2 a strawberry. That one got an "eh" from both people. Coffee was good and the back patio outside was enjoyable. You would t know it was there from the parking lot or even as you walk it. Try it on a nice morning. We all agreed this is a spot we'd regularly visit.

Why I gave this place only 3 stars was because of how they continually messed up the drinks. Asked for one iced americano with oat milk and one cold brew with whole milk. Cold brew came with vanilla so brought it up to them to remake. Specifically said which drink. They were chatting a lot and then after a few minutes called out the drink. This time it was an entirely different drink. We just took it and left. While coffee is not ultra expensive, it is more expensive for what it is so it's frustrating in a way. There are a lot of local spots so while the coffee was fine, not sure we would come back.

It's located near the Encinitas sign (across the street from the movie theater). Pros: -quick service Cons: -I came about 25 minutes before closing and tables were already stacked up on one another so I took my drink to go. Come earlier if you want to spend some time here.
