Stopped by to get some morning coffee. This is a local chain of coffee shops. Like a Starbucks but slightly better coffee. Here is the reasons for the low review. I pulled up to the drive through kiosk. I waited for someone to answer, still waiting.i finally started to pull up thinking the drive through wasn't open. As soon as I left, I could see the lady behind me pull up , I could here someone say can I take your order. So I pulled up again. Now there's a line. I finally get up to pick up my coffee. The girl hands me the first one,I grab it and it spills all over my hand. The lid wasn't on correct. Good thing the coffee was barely warm or it would have burned my hand. I love this new location in Poway. So well-designed, spacious, and clean. A huge upgrade from the old taco shops (Poway has enough taco shops to serve all of SD). AMAZING customer service at this new Better Buzz location in Poway! Manager Kadian and her fellow baristas were we welcoming and super friendly. I stopped in on a rainy Wednesday afternoon and had a problem with my online order. They immediately helped me out and even gave me a free sticker. The friendliness in resolving my issue and welcoming and positive vibe was so refreshing. I had had a rushed day where everything wasn't going quite right and they gave me all the positive energy I needed right then. Ok on to the food and coffee: I ordered the ham and cheese croissant which was perfectly flaky, warm, and melty. My iced Americano was prepared deliciously with regular espresso and vanilla cold foam. It was not too sweet and the perfect pick me up. The coffee was hot and fresh, not pumped from a carafe, of course it should be at 8am. It was my first visit, used gift card from Costco, ordered médium coffee with milk. It was weak, the staff person made me a new cup with dark coffee and it was perfect. I also bought an orange chocolate chip scone. The ratio of orange and chocolate was just right. Way better coffee than another popular chain that shall remain anonymous... Service is lighting fast at this location despite how insanely busy it gets. If you plan on coming by during lunch and want to drink your beverage inside, there's a huge chance that one of the very few spots they have will be taken. Park in the lot next to it but the sushi place and dollar tree and just walk over. You're welcome. Also, the drive through line often seeps into the Poway Road so another reason to just mobile order and run inside real quick. I'm not a coffee drinker and was thrilled to find all the tea options that my little heart could ever desire! Here are some of my faves: -Iced Matcha Tea Latte: their default is whole milk but if you prefer something else, they offer almond and oat milk for an additional charge. The coconut milk is not an additional charge thought...score! My daughter and I wanted something a bit different and were sort of in the area so we decided to try out the new Better Buzz. We hit up the drive through which was convenient but getting out is not the easiest. Next time I think we will park in the main section of the parking lot (by Dollar Tree) and walk over and order inside. The drinks were really good, we got a coconut best drink ever and a horchata latte. Both iced and were super refreshing and flavorful. Better Buzz has a great variety of different food and snacks on their board so plenty to choose from and a lot more for us to come back nd try. The barista was super nice from the moment we pulled up to the time we got our beverages and took off. I've been a long time fan of Better Buzz, and usually hit them up when I'm in San Diego. This location is in a more quiet part of SD, and has a knowledgeable staff that excels in their craft. All of their flavors are a hit, but I always need to have at least one Horchata Iced Latte with its delicious cinnamon sugar mixed in. The "Best Drink Ever" is a close second, and is one of the smoothest coffees I've ever had! You can go half on the sugar and it still keeps its flavor, too. Like other cafes, Better Buzz also makes for a great study or work area, and has a welcoming environment to get work done or plan events with friends. This location, especially when going through the drive-thru, has a really bad habit of providing less drink than what is ordered and paid for. I consistently get shortchanged by an inch on my drink, either through excessive foam or just not filling it up. Let's put this into perspective. On a 16 ounce coffee, an inch missing is probably 2-3 ounces, which equates to 13-19%. That means Better Buzz is getting an extra $0.61-0.89 per drink. Doesn't seem like much. Do this 1000x per day and that's $610-$890 extra each day, $223k-$325k each year. Maybe an inquiry needs to get filed with the County for mislabeling products? read more

I have actually not tried the coffees here. I love their ham and manchego cheese croissant. The flakiness of the croissant rivals that of any overpriced French bakery. The ham and cheese are savory. The next time you come for a coffee, make sure to get a croissant as an accompaniment. You won't regret it. I lived in Encinitas for a long time, and when Better Buzz opened, I honestly couldn't stand it. It was always crowded, drinks took forever, and they were more sugar and milk than coffee. So didn't get the hype. Fast forward to now, I tried the cold brew at this location while visiting friends. Delicious! No crowds, the staff was so nice, and my order was strong and ready quickly. It was also very clean inside, something I didn't really experience at the other location when it first opened years ago. I didn't try any food but the menu looked on par with all the other trendy spots in San Diego. It's definitely good for a quick grab while driving all around! read more
